Under what circumstances would you NOT follow a comma by a space?
What keyboard is this? Regardless, you can go through the keyboard settings if you go to Settings> Language & Input> tap the gear next to the keyboard you're using.
I didn't find that specifically for LG or Google keyboard, BUT I think it's automatic if you have SWIPING enabled

It's the native LG keyboard. The issue is,there is no option to turn this off (or on for that matter).
Whenever I type a comma the space comes automatically. @chrisrozon I always keep a space after a comma,I just want do it by myself and not as an automatic feature.
Nobody else has this issue??

is it possible to disable keyboard buttons when pressed in ICS (ideally, only when inputting passwords)? With the screens getting bigger and bigger, it's pretty easy to work out someone's password as each letter is briefly displayed when pressed
or are there any other work a rounds?
thanks
Settings > Language and input > Android keyboard, disable Pop up on key press.

Ha. Thanks for that. I had been using swiftkey
Select input method won't seem to go away.. I tried making it so only Samsung keyboard is enabled but the select input method won't go away? When ever I have my keyboard open it is. And sometimes I have to press space twice? Really causes a lot of typos and frustration

is the "default" set in settings>language and input
maybe try unchecking the other options as well, have you tried that?
I only have the 2 and you cant disable the Samsung keyboard

So I downloaded swiftkey free version yesterday to test it out. Its nice but for some reason it is still on when I flip out into super-text/qwerty keyboard time. This makes using the qwerty impossible because swiftkey doesn't recognize the keys you type.
I think its probably a software glitch has anyone experienced this? I found the option to disable it when using hardware keyboards but it didn't help..
Thanks

You probably want to disable autocomplete for the hardware keyboard. There is a setting for this in the SwiftKey 3 settings menu Advanced section. With Hard Keyboard autocomplete disabled it works great.

I noticed that and had it disabled. I think the problem is that sometimes when I flip out the keyboard it starts with the alt button so when I type it is all symbols and such. Simple fix is just to press that button when flipping open the qwerty, slightly annoying b/c its sometimes and not always but not a big deal.
When I used my bluetooth keyboard on my Nexus 7 or use it on my smartphone, it usually does not have the on-screen keyboard pop-up. On the Nexus 7, there was an input method which at least allowed to hide the on-screen keyboards entirely if I recall correctly. Even still, if Iwas using the Swiftkey or any other keyboard app, the keys wouldn't apear, just usually the predictions. Is this usually how it is because I do not see an option to change it.

When you attach an external keyboard, there's usually a pop up tip that instructs you to set the input method to Samsung Keyboard. This is supposed to help against that popping up when you use the external hardware keyboard. I just tested on my non-rooted Note 8 and it works that way.
Also if you're rooted, there's an app I use on my other devices called "external keyboard helper", which suppresses the keyboard from popping up as well in this situation.
It tells me to set it to that option, but its not available for some reason. The on-screen keyboard doesn't appear unless I tap twice thought so its not too annoying fortunately. Thanks for your reply though!

I have not been able to make the LG keyboard use the split feature in landscape. I have it checked in the settings but nothing changes. I have also unchecked one handed use, although I would like to use them simultaneously. What am I doing wrong here?

You're using the LG Keyboard as your entry method? I had to disable the Path keyboard feature to split the keyboard.

Didn't think about that. Just tried it and I still don't get the split keyboard. Im going to reset the phone and see if that works.
Edit: Never mind, you then have to drag the keyboard to the sides. Thanks, that worked.
