Don't believe it
Try refreshing CPU Spy and reset timers and see if that still continues. I usually get 17-35% deep sleep on average and I keep wifi off 99% of the time too.

That was right after timer reset, had cleaned up some more junk apps cleared cashe data in storage and reset battery stats and figured why not cpu spy, then turned in for the night.

I think my phone goes comatose at night when I go to sleep.
And this is on stock debloated rom running touchwiz.

You should not complain. Deep sleep is great for battery performance.

CPU won't go to deep sleep after certain time

Tried CM9 RC2 and Full Throttle 7.1, the same thing happened:
I unplug my phone in the morning after browsing for a few things, then left the phone basically idle for a few hours. Then use it for a few minutes of different activities. For the first few hours the phone goes into deep sleep, after I use it for a few minutes the phone will refuse to go into sleep again, awake until I restart it.
I have been using CPU Sleeper to force the phone into sleep, doesn't really help at all.
Any clue?

Thanks! it's a great app! trying it now!
any luck?
not yet, seems behaving as expected after installing the app. Still deciding between CM9 RC2 and Full Throttle 7.1, so may need a couple more trials to point things out.

battery life help

Can anyone help on my battery life? I've tried 2 different ICS roms and both the battery life has been horrid, gone from maybe a day and half to not even getting through one day. This morning the phone was fully charged. I browsed on it for 30 mins and it was down to 85%, then I have done nothing with it but a few texts and its down to 35% already.
I'm runnin aokp_epic4gtouch_milestone-6
kernel version says: 3.0.15-g700016a
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT Fri Jul 20 14:44:32 EDT
2012
Build Number IMM76l
Android 4.0.4
I installed CPU Spy, Better Battery Stats, GSam Battery Monitor, and Battery Monitor Widget. I'm not sure what I'm looking for in those, but here are some possible things:
Battery Monitor Widget shows -64 to -194 maybe even -259 at times when I wasn't using the phone
CPU Spy shows Deep Sleep 47% of the time, 12:06:69 out of 25:18:08
Better Battery shows since unplugged (6h 18min) Deep sleep of 4h 5 mins, awake 2h 12m, screen on 1h 3m. Process shows a bunch of kworkers
GSam shows 35.9% screen (1h 2min), app usage 56.6%, of which 42.8% is the Kernel, and nothing else is over 3%. If I click on kernel it says 1h 41m 17s and shows a bunch of included processes.
Am I to conclude that my kernel is doing this, or is it normal for the kernel to take up so much. I have 2 batteries, and it happens with both, so that chances of the battery being bad are slim, especially since it only started happening since ICS.
Not sure how good the battery life is on that ROM never tried it
Anyway.. Your phone is not deep sleeping, which means some app is keeping your phone up(sync?) .. And when kernel usage is that high I believe it's a app process as well.. I would check in gsam battery monitor and check app sucker to see what's eating your battery and click the drop down up top to check number of times waking device

But it says it is in deep sleep 47% of the time? Also when I go into app sucker nothing is above 3%, it is just kernel. I was close to running out of battery so am charging and will reset the counters when it gets full and unplug and see what happens. As far as number of times waking facebook had 406, I thought I had turned off syncing for that so I uninstalled it and will see how it goes, nothing else seemed to have a high number of wakes.

I use app quarentine app to freeze facebook. its crap and drains batteries. pos.
Use Battery Monitor Widget. It tells you exactly how many milliAmps your battery is using. So your phone may be "sleeping" but still using like 300mA, which is way too much.
I had a sleep problem. My phone was using 200MHz, which is the lowest frequency before sleeping with my settings, and be using about 200mA per hour. That means my phone would die in 9 hours regardless if I was doing something or not. Our phones have an 1800mA battery. 1800 / 200 equals the amount of hours it would take, since Battery Monitor shows mA / Hour (Milli-Amp Per Hour)
What I do now is turn off data. If I'm not using data I just turn it off. I leave WiFi on if I'm using WiFi though. My phone actually deep sleeps like it's suppose to and Battery Monitor Widget tells me my phone is using 2mA per hour when it's sleeping the hardest. It takes like 10 minutes of doing nothing to sleep like that.
I once had 8% left and my phone was going to die in 18 hours. =.D
So yea. Try turning off data.
P.S. With data off, you can still get your calls and text, unless you're using Google Voice.
Also, I never had that good Battery Life on AOSP ROMs for our phones. If you have to leave data on, I suggest using a TouchWiz ROM. I know it sux, but yea.

Don't forget the culprit "Google TALK" I always forget to sign out in the settings because it is always on by default.
Backup anything you don't want to lose.
Do a factory reset from the privacy settings.
Format internal SD AND external SD under storage settings.
Change wifi advanced setting "keep wifi on during sleep" to never.
Turn off display battery percentage under display settings.
One or more of those methods solved all my ics battery issues.

1) take your battery in and get it checked
2) go back to gingerbread
3) underclock and undervolt (not advised)
4) buy an iphone
5) or deal like most people with this phone =D me included

Note 4 Always awake

Hi,
Attached are screen shots of my battery life. As you can see it is always awake.
One is on ART and the other dalvik. If I restart it will deep sleep for half a day to a day and then go on always awake.
Any thoughts on what it might be?
Looks like you have a really bad network connection which is keeping your phone awake
I disagree. My signal is worse here at the office. And my phone sleeps.
OP, I have the same problem from time to time. But I've never narrowed down what's fixed it. It's just magically gone one day. Hopefully someone has an answer.
Have you tried running stock before you install your apps? Maybe one of your apps is rogue with the system

What do you have installed? I'd look at the apps you installed as well as your location settings.
I usually keep location off and that doesn't seem to be pinging. The app I notice seems to have some correlation is Audible but I haven't played with it enough to say for sure. I don't think it is signal strength as if i just restart my phone it seems to work as intended.
Luckily it seems to keep the CPU running at the lowest setting so it hasnt destroyed my battery life but I go for 4hrs SOT of battery life with 50% remaining for a day to hitting 50% by 2-2:30 hrs SOT.

Insane battery graphs consistently

I have been having these kinds of battery graphs since very long time. Using stock oos 4.0.3 without root and have locked bootloader.
I tried cleading data of google play & service' apps and even cleared cache from recovery. Disabled the hibernation feature in battery settings and enabled doze from developer options. This made no effect. So switched back to default settings again.

Phone doesn't doze' properly. It stays awake even when am not using it and drains battery a lot. I have seen phone getting warm several times even when it's just lying. SOT is very poor considering i have not changed my usage scenario and have given a lot of time for the OS to settle properly as well..
Here's another screenshot just after i woke up. Phone was chraged upto 98% when i went to sleep and it came down to 65%

Your phone is awake most of the time. Install BBS from its thread in XDA, learn how to produce idle logs in BBS and post one in the BBS thread.
Mind you, on Nougat, there is not much option for controlling alarms/wakelocks except using Greenify and MyAndroidTools. No Xposed and so no Amplify.

Did you turn on the aggressive doze option? I bet you have some app like Facebook keeping the phone awake. The other answer to grab BBB is a good idea

Yes i have enabled the aggressive doze and about the facebook draining, i think it is not from facebook because i rarely use it and it appears rarely in battery stats.
Here are some screenshots from BBS:
Custom one is when in the evening i had set the custom ref. after clearing all recent tasks. Check these if get something from these. I don't see any deep sleep stats any given time

You need to get an idle dump of at least 6 hours along with screenshots of the battery and battery history page of Settings. These screenshots are not going to help anyone to analyze your issue.
install logcat and see if it spams same error message over and over.

Cell Standby Drain - is there a fix?

Currently my phone is at 30% from 100% - 21 % of that is cell standby (mobile radio active for 16m it says), and only 18% of that is screen on (4.5 hours~). I tried turning off "keep mobile data active even on wifi" but that did nothing. Is there a known fix? I thought maybe turning off VoLTE would do it, but it just switches itself back on.
Strange. Last night for me the battery drop over 7 hours was zero. So I can't complain on standby battery drain.
Give some context to this maybe? Like how long was your phone on for? For instance, my battery is at 55% at 12hrs on battery with cell standby at the highest with 7% and my Screen using 2% with 2hrs SoT. Cause if your standby drain is over a full day, maybe you just have bad signal where you are?

Volte drains very little amount of battery. Do you have other things enabled like WiFi, NFC, Bluetooth, GPS, auto sync etc. which could keep the phone awake ? Download Devcheck from play store and check if your device is going to deep sleep.

Gps is on as well as wifi.
However as i have posted the battery usage per service. Only cell standby seems to be hogging most of the battery...
I am only left with resetting my device as a last alternative.
Checked via devcheck, it's a no go for deep sleep.

Android battery usage data can be unreliable. To check if cell standby is what actually draining battery try this-
Before you go to Bed, open Devcheck app on your phone and take a screenshot of deep sleep time after that leave your phone alone. Next morning open the app again and check the Deep sleep time. If all those hours are added to deep sleep, then cell standby is the actual cause of the battery drain. If the deep sleep time is similar to the night or only slightly different, then something else is keeping the phone awake and draining the battery.
