If you don't plan to add a case to the phone, I would choose the leather.

As stated above, if you plan on using a cover, go for the plastic back.
Here in South Africa, all carriers offered the G4 with both the leather and plastic back covers in the box. I love the look and feel of the leather but will change to the plastic if or when I get a cover.

I got the european version (H815) which also ships with a spare plastic back when you get the leather back. The leather back is simply gorgeous I can't stop admiring it, so smooth both on feel and look (I have the red leather btw). On the other hand it's very problematic with cases since it's hard to get the case in and out (because of the friction between the leather and the rubber which is usually what is the inner part of the case made of), and you may damage the leather using a case. That said, check if you get a spare plastic back with the leather option and if that is the case, go for the leather since you can always put on the plastic back when you decide to put on a case.

If verizon would've offered a leather back in-store I would've gone that route. their website shows that leather is an option, but they only had grey and white in the store.

I picked leather. I am just a little disappointed with the feel. It is very hard and virtually plastic like. I do like the extra grip it provides but it's not as "premium" feeling as I thought it might be. I don't long for the other back but I'm not sure the leather was worth the extra $$. We'll see if it breaks in a little over time.

I must admit, when I first saw the exclusive T-Mobile brown leather online, I was not impressed at all. However, seeing it in person and now having the phone, I absolutely love it. I'll most likely forego a case because now the phone isn't slippery and I've never had a problem dropping my phone. Not to mention, at T-Mobile, the plastic back and the leather back were the same price. Knowing I could get a different color leather or a plastic back made it even easier!

+1 leather

I got mine today, 4 days earlier delivered than first said... WOOT! I am also in South Africa and I got the brown leather along with the silver plastic cover. I love the leather! It's great! My sister also got hers today and she chose the black leather and it's also nice but much rougher than the Brown leather. I prefer the brown. She got a darker violet colour plastic cover. I would say the leather is better but can't say wear and tear yet.

Plastic Case Review

So I just got another new case.
I got it from eBay seller augustonline for $3.89 w/ free shipping.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Black-Rubber-Ha...000-GALAXY-S-/150475142893?pt=PDA_Accessories
This is similar to the mesh snap-on case that others have posted about. It's a single piece that snaps on to the back of the phone. The material is hard plastic but it has a bit of a rubberized feel which provides just a little grip.
The fit is perfect. And, unlike the mesh case, it does not have the awkward cutout for the TV antenna that the Korean cases have.
As others have pointed out with this type of case, it does not provide full protection for all sides. I was also concerned about this, but found that it wraps around the edges just enough to protect the face of the phone. So, if you place it face-down the phone doesn't touch. Also, the corners are protected but the top and bottom are exposed.
It's a solid color with no branding so if you really like the Galaxy S logo, you won't be able to see it with this case.
All in all, this is a nice case and if you like this type of case, I would definitely recommend it. It fits well, has a nice clean look to it, and is less than $5. I think this will be my daily driver for a while (or until some positive reviews of the SGP Slider case start coming in).
Sweet as I was wondering whether the fit would be good or not, so thats good news
Can't wait for my orange one to get here!
Cool good to know it fits perfectly i ordered a green one of these almost two weeks ago i should be receiving it any day now
The case isn't bad for $4 (or the $8 I paid from a US seller), but don't expect it to hold up for very long. The rubberized texture is wearing off after less than a week.

I was just thinking about updating this post when I saw your reply. I noticed this morning that the rubberized coating is coming off on the corners of the case. It's not very noticeable at the moment, but I imagine it will start to peel off everywhere in the not so distant future.
For me the case is temporary until SGP gets their stuff together, but I don't think I would recommend this case to anyone that is looking for long-term protection.
that looks pretty gnarly. I have the snap on two piece case from T-Mobile. With the chrome bezel and rubbery back. Once I get bored of it I'll have to try that one.

Love this case so far. Especially with my custom logo! =D
There is no player on the warriors with the number 89. That's just the number I like personally.
I don't think this can be compared to mesh case. The quality of the korean mesh case is awesome. That is why it is like 20 bucks.

Cruzerlite VS Diztronic REVIEW

Which one to choose? which one to get? which one is better? Well i get messages all day everyday in regards of this. So I said..ima make a comparison video
Here u ll see the things I like from each case and the fitment as well
enjoy

I ordered myself the matte black tpu from Diztronic.
kch ugh
Nice quick review!
I gave both of these cases a fair go. Both of them I ran with for a week. I've decided to stick with my Diztronic TPU. Honestly. both cases are great.
Both cases are easy the slip in and out of pocket. Although slightly thicker, the Cruzerlite is still very slim. Does feel like it would offer a bit more protection in a fall. Since I have never dropped a phone my deciding factor, which might seem stupid to some people, is that the clear Cruzerlite case would get dust buildup from pocket lint and you'd visually be able to see it at the edges of the case. That can easily be fixed by purchasing a non-transparent Cruzerlite case.
The Diztronic case, my only problem with is most of the case fairly slick. What gives me a good grip on the phone is the rim of the case where you put the phone through. It's a different plastic finish from the rest of the case which is much easier to grip with your fingers. I kind of prefer it that way.
Just my opinion on these two.

Agreed. I think this cases are so similar but so different at the same time. Best part is that buying one of each won't hurt your pocket at all

I'll add my 2 cents even though I can't do an apples to apples comparison. I was never a fan of protective cases, I never used them with my Samsung Fascinate in the 2 years that it was my primary device. That was until the screen broke on my 3 month old SGS3.
While Samsung was repairing my phone, I did some research and decided on a Diztronic matte dark blue case. It's a great quality product. The TPU material is thin but pretty stiff and the fit on the phone is tight, removing the case causes the battery cover to get unsnapped 90% of the time. The cutouts are perfectly positioned (although I would actually prefer covered lock/power and volume buttons, read on). The matte finish actually makes the cover a little more slippery both in hand and when sitting on other surfaces, but I perfer the way the case looks. Also the case has a solid company behind it, when my case arrived, I noticed it the color was actually back and not dark blue. I emailed customer service at Diztronic and they let me know that their latest batch of dark blue covers were in fact darker than earlier batches. They sent me one from an earlier batch at no cost.
In the meantime, I acquired a CruzerLite gloss black case for my Fascinate. The TPU material is a little bit thicker and more flexible than the Diztronic. The case also fit looser than the Diztronic although there is no risk that the cover will fall off when being removed from a pocket like silicon cases. The lock/power and volume buttons are covered (raised and appears to be the same thickness as the rest of the case), but I had no issue using them. The cutouts are in the right places, but there is an extra cutout on the case on the side that does seem to have any reason for being there (maybe another phone shaped like the Fascinate has a use for it). The gloss finish is pretty sticky, especially when the phone is sitting on something smooth. I had no concerns leaving the phone sitting on the leather passenger seat in my car when driving. I would rate this case one step below Diztronic in terms of overall quailty, but will keep on using it as my Fascinate is now being used as a game system for my kids.
I also wound up buying a no-name TPU case (from Amazon) for a Pantech Burst I recently bought (from eBay). While the overall quality of the case leaves something to be desired compared to either the Diztronic or CruzerLite, it does have one feature I wish both the Diztronic and CruzerLite cases had. The lock/power and volume button on the case is covered, but the material in those locations is both raised and significantly thinner than the rest of the cover. IMHO this is the way to go for these buttons.
Hope this helps folks figure out which case to get.
I just got the Diztronic yesterday and I am quite pleased. Nice fit, nice feel, nice look. I even used the screen protector that came with it and it's not half bad.
Just dropping my 2 cents. The diztronic for the matte/clear model.. it gets rather dirty easily so if you happen to get your hands dirty regularly and need to use the phone. Just know the clear will start to change color.

Disappointed with my SGP Spigen Neo Hybrid Case

So after seeing pictures of it for a while and finally seeing peoples reviews for the case i finally bought the infinity white case. I already had a couple of ebay cases while i was waiting to get something a little more "premium" so i pulled the trigger on the Neo Hybrid. I received it today and have to say it is not what i expected.I already knew about the buttons being too sensitive and the case being more purple than blue so no surprises there, but being advertised as a tpu case i thought this would fit the phone much more tightly the way every tpu case ive ever bought off of ebay for $2 has felt. the tpu portion of the case was either made too large or from a different kind of material because it feels loose on the phone to me. the bumper that goes around the case is meant to keep the tpu tight to the phone, and perhaps add another layer of protection but it tpu along the front of the screen feels very loose and is even a bit sharp to the touch because of its square shape. this is the case i had been using for the past month and i loved the feel, but not so much the look of it. I actually couldnt decide which color i wanted and bought the orange one as well a couple of days ago and it looks like ill be sending them both back in favor of my $4 ebay case.

Just a quick question, did you get the Neo Hybrid Lumi or the Color?
it was the color series with the purple/blue case and white bumper frame, now i have an orange lumi on order and i can only assume it is going to have the same feel to it. way more bummed about how loose the case feels and the way the rim around the screen is really jagged feeling and not rounded at all.
I've got an orange Lumi coming in today, I'll post anything if it disappoints. They looks so damn good in the pictures, especially with the white GS3. I just had to pull the trigger

the case looks nice but be ready not to use it or modify it so the buttons work. I already emailed them and sent pics in. The little bumpers are way to high so it causes the sensitivity to go through the roof
I don't have one yet but I am very disappointed in the colour selection. How can you not have a black/black like all the others before it? The old ones never sagged on me so I personally want a black/black with the good old silicon and polycarbonate frame.
Don't see it happening though.
SGP products suck in terms of "fit", I had an ultra thin air for my SII, the worst case ever, since then I decided not to purchase sgp again.
Case Mate for the win!!! Very recommended!!! Great quality and fit!!!

I ordered their leather pouch because I seriously loved their screen protectors. The pouch was so tight I had to use a razor blade to cut the seams to remove my phone. The pull tab broke off as I was trying to remove my phone with it.
i think theres something to be said for mass producing cases. all the generic ebay tpu cases seem to fit perfect, havent had an issue yet. they all fit nice and snug, cutouts are perfect, the buttons arent as tactile and clicky as more expensive cases but theyre still easy to press
I agree with the OP, I got the neo hybrid lumi in green and I think that this case just feels cheaply made, this is definitely not worth paying $26. My cheap tpu case I got off eBay for 3 bucks is 100 times better than this. The camera cut off holes for this aren't even properly aligned and the case does not fit the phone very well. And also with the issue with the buttons. I highly suggest that no one should buy this case. It's a terrible case and cheaply made and over priced. I'm disappointed with the way this case turned out. I put a bad review on SGPs website to warn other buyers but they would not even post my review. Screw you SGP lol

How bulky is it in comparison to the Incipio Sillicrylic? I can't decide between the two.

Hey Angie have you had any other cases for your gs3? If you notice while the case is on the phone the bit that runs around the edge of the screen can be moved very easily. The band is what makes the case stick to the phone and difficult to take off. My dislike is with the actual tpu case. Which is much more flimsy and soft than most tpu cases
no the band is the only thing that fits the phone well, im referring to the bit on tpu that sticks out past the band around the edge of the front glass, if you nudge it at all its very lose and also is very angular and uncomfortable to touch
angie4u said:
that is so weird because i have no issues with the cameras and holes not aligning with the cutouts, as you can see from the pictures. And the fit is very snug. This is my first SGP case purchase so did I just get lucky? I haven't use the Incipio so I cant compare the two but in terms of bulkiness, I don't find this to be bulky at all. it's very thin and sleek. However, if you are looking for something that's very durable, this might not be the case for you.
Click to collapse
Yeah I think you did get lucky, because the cut out on mine was not even centered like how it is with yours. The holes on mine came down more to where the camera, lights and speakers are. And in the front, the top part of the tpu covered the silver bezel but hardly covered the bottom part. Close enough to where it looks like the tpu was sagging. I was so pissed that I literally wanted to cover the case in gasoline and burn it for how ****ty, it was lol. I honestly think that the feel of the case just feels so cheap. I have a few other tpu cases I purchased on eBay at a much cheaper price that felt more of a high quality than that piece of crap that sgp made lol. But alas, I returned it back to sgp with an e-mail stating that they did a piss poor job with the case lol.

I guess I'm another of the lucky ones. My cutouts fit perfect, and I have no issues (besides the whole oversensitive buttons issue) but I can relate to the whole "looseness" thing.
As far as TPU cases go, the NeoHyb is definitely not cut to be "tight-fitting" like the some of the other TPU cases I've seen. Without the band, the TPU base IS loose fitting.
With the plastic band though, the entire assembly is tight enough that any attempts to pull it off usually takes the battery cover along with it.
Also, the TPU is more pliable and softer then most other TPU cases I've seen, which makes the "loose" feeling even worse, but I take it it's made that way for better impact absorption.
It's definitely not soft and stretchy like silicone though, which I hate.
So, is the NeoHybrid a perfect case? No. The plastic band is too thin, too slippery. The TPU back is not rough enough. The buttons don't really work without modifications. The TPU rim around the screen, as the OP said, feels "sharp" enough out of the box to be slightly uncomfortable.
Yet, for some God forsaken reason, I like the bloody bugger and I think 20 odd dollars is a fair price for it - considering I've dropped the phone a couple of times already and the case has been doing what it's paid for with aplomb.
YMMV though.
I DO have the Incipio Faxion - another TPU/Polycarb hybrid case I've seen out there - on order though, and plan to do a comparo as soon as it arrives.
Considering I got both at around the same price, it should be an interesting comparison.
I think people are being unreasonable here. This case isn't supposed to be as hard as other TPU cases. That is why there is a polycarbonate hard frame. The whole design philosophy of the Neohybrid is super soft inside with hard shell structural support. I am glad they went for the silicon feel.
The capdase soft jacket feels basically like silicon for anyone going for that type of case. The modello is quite hard by the way. Almost as rigid as a hard snap on shell.

I ordered it straight from SGP when they were doing the pre orders. So I'm pretty sure it's genuine unless they're lying and are just making some fake products. Q: Am I still supposed to get a case if I get the leather one?

I just preordered the leather G4 from tmobile. I'm currently waiting for it to arrive and I'm wondering how cases are supposed to work with the leather one. I bought it for the leather, I don't want to hide the leather and a clear one would cover up the feel of it. Any suggestions from anyone with a leather one? Do I need a case?
I don't intend to but perhaps a bumper?
I ordered a clear case from Amazong from Rearth for only $6 including shipping and tax:
http://slickdeals.net/f/7880477-rea...y-s6-more-from-2-free-shipping?src=SiteSearch
Same here. I ordered a Ringke Fusion Clear case for those times I need a case. Fits leather and plastic backs.
Examples: Working out, hiking, bike ride, or when my kids are on my phone.
I'm not getting a case, I would rather buy a new back cover if it gets damaged.
Will probably get a screen protector though.

I got a case for my leather back, I found that I was getting a few marks and also because the phone is plastic, it's easily damaged.
What kind of case you got on the leather back?

Belt clip or Leather Pouch

Waiting on Seidio to come out with their G4 belt holsters, is there any other ones out there? Tried the Best Buy one, Platinum case, but it fits really snug and I think it's because of the slight curve of the screen. If you look at the middle there is a nice gap there but then nothing and the ends, and it's really sung going in. And it just ads a crap load of bulk.
I love the naked phone and thinking of looking for a horizontal leather pouch with a belt clip and just slide the phone in and out. Not that cheap crap but a good solid belt clip and quality leather.
NiteIze is an option
I have not purchased one yet, but I think the Nite Ize make an option for a cheap leather or rugged. They usually run about $15-25 depending on seller and availability. I linked below to the examples, but if you are just looking for temporary either should work.
My friends run the vertical version of the non-leather for their Note 3 and LG G3, as they tend to be more roomier and take more abuse than the leather versions.

Hi.
I ordered 2 of these through Amazon.co.uk, (seller is Smart-Kingsourse, ships from Hong Kong) "Kingsource (TM) LG G4 Premium Leather Horizontal holster pouch With Magnetic Clasp And Belt Clip (LG G4, Litchi black)" they just arrived this morning and seem quite good. There was a stylus and (film type) screen protector in the parcel which I wasn't expecting and although I've only been using them an hour I'm pretty happy with the case and there's plenty of room for the leather backed G4 to slide easily in and out. Might be worth you having a look.
Cheers.
Eoin.
