Completely bricked S6 Edge G925T - any help? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

I can't boot up, can't get into recovery. I can only get into download mode. No matter what TWRP I flash, it says "Custom Binary(BOOT) Block By FRP Lock" on the Downloading screen.
I tried flashing stock 5.1.1 odin, 5.1.1 bootloader/modem, etc. Can't get past this to get into recovery or boot the device. Any suggestions??
EDIT: Good news! Flashing the stock 5.1.1 odin image worked . (link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/general/sm-g925f-s6-firmware-thread-t3078841)
It even preserved my data and everything (I guess b/c I was on the leaked 5.1.1). I'll probably just back up some things and start fresh on the stock software, but I'm just glad to have it working.

I was running the G925T (edge) leaked 5.1.1 rom ([5.1.1][ROM][TW][OE6] Blck/TW), which worked well for the month that I used it. I had TWRP from that thread installed as well (I think it was 2.8.6.x). Everything was good at this point.
Where I am now:
When I power the device on, it says:
KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
Custom binary blocked by FRP Lock.
When I try to enter Recovery, it says:
RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
Custom binary blocked by FRP Lock.
What I did to get here:
SHORT VERSION - flashed latest modem and bootloader for G925T (edge) via Odin.
LONG VERSION
Last night I attempted to flash (via ODIN) the G925T bootloader, modem, and TWRP for this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-xtrestolite-pure-edition-1-0-beta-1-t3082467
G92xF(D)/T Galaxy S6 Universal Odexed Pure edition ROM
Based on the latest Samsung Stock G925F XXU2BOFJ Lollipop 5.1.1 firmware (Base build date: 20-JUN-2015)
NOTE: I didn't ever get to flash the ROM because the trouble started when trying to flash the bootloader/modem via ODIN.
- Odexed Pure Edition: Odexed & 100% original/Stock files!
Steps followed:
Do exactly step-by-step the following things:
- Unplug your Phone (IMPORTANT!)
- Turn your Phone completely off (This is IMPORTANT)
- Start your Phone in download mode on this way: Press Vol down + Home + Power buttons till the screen turns on, press Vol Up to continue (Only enter download mode on this way, otherwise it won't work!!)[/B]
- Open Odin 3.10.6 on your PC (Make sure you're using this version of Odin, other versions won't work correctly maybe!)
- Click on the 'BL' button, and load in your BOOTLOADER tar.md5 file for your model
- Click on the 'CP' button, and load in your MODEM tar.md5 file for your model
- DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE (you can brick your phone if you choose other settings in Odin)
- Now Connect your phone to your computer (DO NOT connect your phone before this step, otherwise it won't work!)
- Click on the Start button
- Wait till it finish flashing.
- Your phone reboots automatically after flashing. <--- device never rebooted because ODIN said Failed instead of Successful.
I then tried to flash TWRP 2.8.7.1 (link below) since maybe that had to be flashed before the bootloader/modem, but it failed too.

You also have to update your TWRP to the latest version (2.8.7.1 or newer) when flashing this.

Is there a file I can Odin flash to disable FRP Lock? I can't boot up to turn it off.
If not, what are my options from here? Any way to preserve SDCARD or even /Data?
If all else fails, what Odin file should I flash to get back to stock?
EDIT: Regardless of what I try to flash in Odin (recovery, kernel, TWRP, modem), it begins the process but then fails because the phone states "_______ is not SEANDROID enforcing" and states FRP lock is on.

SmartSwitch isn't detecting my phone (although Odin does). What mode should it be in? I can get into Download Mode, but that's about it!

Your biggest problem right now is getting past FRP / factory reset protection, the only way to avoid this would have been to turn on bootloader unlock in "developer options"
OEM unlocking.
The security system is protecting your phone from you.
You need to be able to smartswitch back to stock but since your device status was not official, custom after running odin, root or anything else you may have done with root, smartswitch won't recognize your phone.
Without "OEM unlocking" on, the phone will turn on you.
The purpose of this security is to prevent your lost or stolen phone from been modified in any way and activated with another carrier.
Maybe tmobile has a procedure for returning phone back to normal.

Guys at the store couldn't do anything unfortunately. I guess it's just a brick now?
EDIT: The leaked 5.1.1 didn't have that option in dev options either. I guess running the leaked 5.1.1 is where I screwed up, even though it worked great while actually using it. I didn't have root, but I had TWRP recovery.

Would flashing the stock image work since it's not a custom one? I'm downloading it now from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/general/sm-g925f-s6-firmware-thread-t3078841
I'm guessing it won't work or else you would have suggested it. If anyone has a suggestion, I'm open to it!
It seems like there must be a way to disable FRP with an Odin flash, but maybe not.

After looking over article I give it a thumbs up, it may work for you.
Thats the problem with leaked updates or firmware, sometimes devs take shortcuts in order to package it for flashing and security stuff gets left out.
The ota 5.1.1, shows the option to turn on unlock bootloader .
Keep us posted, good luck.

Thanks for replying, by the way. I got locked when i am still on 5.0.2 and i flash the bootloader and the modem. It was the modem of 5.1.1 didn't go through.
Will it be flashed through the 5.1.1 firmware, if not, any other options can solve the frp locked? Thanks

You need to flash 5.0.2 stock firmware with Odin, then maybe.
You can't flash anything that's 5.1.1 on your phone.

tried, still failed in odin. I think is may be because my bootloader is actually 5.1.1's.
However, I saw above said flash 5.1.1 odin image ? what is that? Thanks.

solve it by flash 5.1.1 tar via odin as above said. thanks.

[Q] Recovery all stock?

Hey guys, how are you?
Sorry my bad english! But I need your help ...
I recently installed the Rom LiquidSmooth 4.2.2 Android 4.2.2 to test itself, not LiquidSmooth, found it very nice and everything. But back to the factory settings with the stock ROM 4.0.4 and I upgrade by Kies and pff, my phone can not do updates by Kies. Samsung tried my country (Brazil) but they can not support (or paying for and also not aware of devices outside) for my I747 ... I did the emergency recovery firmware and now it's on 4.1.1 but it still remains unrecognized by Kies (NOTE: It is recognized rather as SGH-I747, however, can not do updates or anything, just back of the device; NOTE 2: I bought it at AT & T in the United States and I can not take you there to support). The mesangem is: "Your device does not support firmware upgrade via kies".
After getting well pissed off with this bull****, or my **** (haha) decided to find out what was wrong and found that some of the things LiquidSmooth is still in the system, such as ringtones, facebook layout and stuff ... (Print the end of the topic) .
So I come here asking for help to you, to completely reset it and go back to having all functions and patterns of manufactures, so that in future I can sell it or give it to my mom and she does not get lost as I am today ...
Is there any way I can do this completely and return it to factory defaults?
attempts:
- I went back to stock rom several times and still the same thing;
- I tried the firmware recovery Kies and nothing;
- I tried several tutorials on the internet and nothing.
Can anyone help me?
I literally am going crazy because of it ...
Diego.

How did you go back to stock? You'll get errors from kies and ota updates by remaining rooted.
By the sounds of it it just needs a proper wipe the unroot.
This video will get you back to 100% stock unrooted.

Also check out this link. The second post has a paragraph on unrooting to go with the video. It also contains the proper links for all the files you'll need to do it.

best unroot video ever.
OP, to accompany the video guide, you'll need:
- Triangle Away installed
- The official stock firmware for your device
- Odin installed on your PC
- Your Samsung USB cable, if possible
- Samsung drivers installed on PC

So when I went back to stock:
1. I just flashed a rooted stock firmware in odin
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
(just so I was back on a 4.1.1 stock rom. I didn't want to odin from a custom rom)
2. Then used triangle away
3. Then flashed the stock unrooted 4.0.4 from here in odin
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
(This gets rid of custom recovery)
4. Booted in stock recovery and then did a factory reset because you sometimes get a simple bootloop
5. Rebooted and I was back to stock.
I've noticed sometimes you have to switch the order around some to get it unrooted and the flash counter reset. Triablge away is for right before you unroot. You have to flash a stock .tar rom in odin to get rid of the custom recovery as well. It replaces the system, kernel, and the recovery.

Are you sure you did the steps in the right order ? Kies won't do that unless you are still rooted or have a custom recovery. I
Kies has no use here to be honest but I know some people like to use it to upgrade from time to time or transfer data.
What exactly is the emergency recovery firmware ? (Your name for it might be different than mine)

[Q] Replacing system/fonts GS3 (AT&T)

Ok so I rooted using a safe root method, I have no clockwork mod installed. I only have the stock recovery and the phones boots into that and also boots into download mode. What I did was used a bad app off the market and it set a custom font (with root permissions) as soon as I set it the phone went black and restarted, it booted fine until it got to the boot loader. Now its stuck in a boot loop of the AT&T logo. I have a fellow on Youtube trying to help me out but he is having issues finding a stock rom. I have also used ADB (android debug bridge) and i was gonna "pull system/font" and then push it back onto the phone with the factory default fonts. I cant seem to get it to work. I am out of ideas of what to do, I am new to this so I have never even flashed a rom, im needing someones help.
I did some reading and from what I can tell the custom font replaced my "default fonts" located in (system/fonts) is there a way to get to this file with the phone not booting up? If so how? I have the default fonts, all I need to do is just set the fonts back to default.
The guy from Youtube told me I can flash the "stock firmware" to the phone and it will flash a whole new system making "system/fonts" replaced and back to default. The issue is that we cannot find the stock firmware.
Does anyone know any kind of solution for me? Any way at all to get to the system/apps? Or maybe the stock firmware download? My phones info is below.
The download he did find for me was named "AT&T_I747UCUEMJB.zip"
When I extracted it I should have had .tar.mg5 (I might be wrong on the mg5 part) but I ended up with 3 things. I ended up with system, META-INF and boot.img When looking at the files it seems like everything that needs to be flashed over? It's just not in the wrong format maybe?
Model: SGH-I747
Version: Android 4.3
Root access: Yes (last I knew it was rooted, but I did a factory reset from recovery.)
Clockwork Mod: No (I can flash it though since I got download mode?)
Anyone can help me please? I have been racking my brain for almost 2 weeks now and its driving me insane! lol

I upgraded using OTA directly from the AT&T servers (settings > about phone > check for software upgrade)
Since you have a stock 4.3 ROM on your phone, you cannot simply re-flash the 4..3 ROM because the 4.3 ROM update included a bootloader that installs Knox and prevents loading any ROM older than 4.3.
Rooting the phone while on 4.3 will trip the Knox counter and void any remaining warranty.
You maybe better off flashing Philz Touch Recovery in Odin and install a custom ROM.

I keep downloading and downloading roms and I get the same results, I get folders and a boot.img.
The files I get are:
system
META-INF
boot.img
When opening the system folder I get:
xbin
wallpaper
wakeupdata
vsc
vold
voicebargeindata
vendor
usr
tts
T9DB
media
lib
hdic
framework
fonts
etc
esc
cameradata
bin
app
some others like build.prop, kern_sec_info and more
The META-INF folder contains:
updater-script
update-binary
Then there is a boot.img
What am I doing wrong? I think that I am extracting these files wrong maybe? When downloading it comes in as a .zip file. I use WinRAR to extract .zip files.
This is my exact steps:
Download with Google Chrome
Drag/drop the downloaded .zip from my browser to the desktop
Right Click, Create New Folder, name it "AndroidROM"
Drag/Drop the .zip file into "AndroidROM"
Open the "AndroidROM" folder
Right click on the .zip file
Extract here...
WinRAR extracts the files and I get system, META-INF and boot.img I see nothing of a .tar file or .mg5 (I forget that one always)
What am I doing wrong?
This would be the download I used, I also used others but this is the one I need.

You posted that reply as I was typing up the other one sorry about that lol ok so my KNOX is not tripped because I used a method that does not trip it. I will put the link of how I did that below and it does worked and its still 0x0 I did it myself and this is not what caused me to be bootlooping it was the font.
Ok about your idea of the Philz Touch Recovery and installing a custom ROM, can you explain this more? Like in details of if it works on my variant and my version (4.3 with knox)
As I said this will be my first time doing any of this, im learning as I do this right now so I am very confused at this point and all I want is my phone back. I don't care what I get, I just want my phone back running and not to see that AT&T logo which is the bootloader lol I think that he wants me to do a stock ROM using Odin.
The guy on Youtube wants me to flash a stock firmware sgh-i747 rom, just the rom no custom at all to it, I think what he is trying to do is get the exact same rom that the OTA update had that way knox and the bootloader isn't gonna affect things? Is that possible? He is not having luck finding the download.
Oh sorry forgot the link in the last post
Here is the youtube video for the root without tripping knox:

Interesting, I really dont know... put yourself in a unknown room, blind fold yourself and turn off the lights and try to get out lol thats how I feel right now, I honestly have no clue.
What do you recommend me doing? Is there is possible way for me to replace the system/fonts, I used ADB (Android Debug Bridge) but it only shows the phone as "sideload" when plugging my HTC Inspire in it shows the serial number I think? But also that phone is fully on where the GS3 is in stock recovery mode.
All hope is not lost as your phone boots. Remain calm and I'll do what I can to help you.
First of all, boot into download mode: hold volume down, home button, press and hold power button. You will receive a warning screen, press volume up to enter download mode. What does the screen say? I'm asking you to do this to ensure that your knox counter has not been tripped.

First of all, boot into download mode: hold volume down, home button, press and hold power button. You will receive a warning screen, press volume up to enter download mode. What does the screen say? I'm asking you to do this to ensure that your knox counter has not been tripped.

I noticed that your system status is custom rather than official.
Yes that was one things that I think was noted in that video that it changes your system status. Whats that mean? Is this good or bad?
Is my phone really fixable do you think? Or being that this Knox and stuff it isn't?

As far as I know of no, the phone is going on 2 years old this July. I plan on getting the Galaxy S5 but that's still a ways away and I really like this phone so I want to get it fixed.

Yes I can get into recovery mode (Vol up + home + power) which puts it into stock recovery mode.
I have already tried clearing the cache and a factory reset. What happen was the app I used took the default font and replaced it with a custom font in the system/fonts of the phone. So even with a factory reset its gonna revert back to the default font which is still gonna be the custom font the app did. So I need to get rid of all the fonts I have and replace all the fonts in /system/fonts which I think is what is done with the custom rom?
If you want to flash a custom ROM and your phone has no warranty left, you could try flashing a custom recovery in Odin and flash a custom ROM. I don't think root is required since you're just installing a custom recovery.
I use Philz Touch Recovery which is based on CWM. Once you flash the a custom recovery, you can just boot into recovery mode and flash a custom rom.

Of course there is always risks when rooting/flashing roms but what would you say my chances are of getting it to work being that I have knox on my phone and a bootloader?

[Q/HELP] Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select blah blah..

Hello, my dumb ass decided to root using CFRoot, then it said it failed so I tried to flash the CFAutoRoot in Odin. Well, I tried booting my phone, after saying f*** it, and now I'm greeted with 'Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.' what can I do? I just bought this phone, so if I screwed it up, I'm in trouble.

SGH-I747(AT&T Samsung Galaxy 3), and the stock 4.3 rom
Unfortunately, there is no way to flash a stock AT&T 4.3 ROM to this phone as AT&T never released a full ROM, only an update.
Did you try reconnecting it to Kies to try and re-flash?

I'm not sure as I have never used this Kies option. I have always re-flashed via Odin. Your case is different because there is no full 4.3 AT&T Rom that can be flashed via Odin.

Well, if you take it to an AT&T or Walmart store, they may not care that you tripped the counter. If they send it in to Samsung for repair, they may not care either. However, there's always the chance that AT&T/Walmart/Samsung would allow repairing the phone at no charge.

You would need to install a custom recovery in order to flash a custom ROM. A custom recovery can be installed via Odin if you find the right file.
Do not flash any stock Samsung 4.3 ROM or a custom rom unless Knox has been removed.

Are you running the latest version of CWM? If you can't boot into your OS, how do you know you are rooted?
Flashing another ROM will remove knox.
Copy a custom rom to a microSD card (do not unzip the ROM which is a single zip file), boot into recovery mode, wipe cache, wipe data, wipe Dalvik, and install the ROM from SDcard1.
I have the latest experimental Cyanfox on my i747m from here: http://cyanfox-rom.com/downloads/?folder=d2att/

Thanks for this thread. I have MM stock, but the hotspot now requires a reboot to get it working. Can I use this method to flash back to Lollipop? I saw a thread saying you cannot flash anything older than 5.1.1. That was an older thread, and basically he was told he can't flash 5.0.2 back on his S6 because he already had 5.1.1.

Well, I flashed my stock Note 5 rom over to the MM leak and now I'm stuck with it till the official release is out and I can flash back to stock and receive the latest official updates as they come out.
What happened was I wiped the drive and then flashed the lower # official roms and all it did was bootloop or just wouldn't flash the version at all and would just give me an error while trying to flash.

I flashed backed to 5.1.1, I left my phone sitting with wifi enabled, sprint downloaded the 6.0.1 update and gave me no choice but to install it again. I had no way to back out of it. I put 5.1.1 on my phone twice today and it keeps sending me to MM. Is there a way to flash back to 5.1.1 and disable OTA without rooting the phone..? if not then you really can't go back because Sprint will force the update to your phone.
i guess there should be an option in setting/update for you to uncheck the "update".

Rolling back is as simple as using ODIN and flash the stock rom, I rooted 6.0.1 and its starting to grow on me but I can flash back to stock 5.1.1 even if I was not rooted, I only root because like you I need tether and so far this was the only way on 6.0.1 MM
Man oh man, I thought I broke my charging port the day after I rooted. I was about to cry myself to sleep for the next 2 months.

More accurately, it means that your bootloader version is 4, and you can't flash anything lower.
But no, you can't go back to Android 5

Updated Bootloader: Bootloop, cannot access recovery, can access download mode !

After updating my bootloader to NE2 using odin, by phone just keeps and booting up to the Samsung Galaxy logo and restarting. The logo appears for a second or so before restarting. I can access download mode, but receive the following:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: GT-N7100
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 1
AP SWREV: A2
RPMB: INVALID RPMB DATA
( the last three lines have appeared, and were not there previously before updating the bootloader). The phone was working fine with stock 4.4.2, before installing the bootloader. I cannot access recovery mode, and have flashed TWRP with odin (reported success in odin), but cannot access the TWRP recovery menu on my phone. I have tried to flash stock 4.4.2 again with odin, I do not receive any errors and receive a success 1 in odin where a blue bar is visible (when flashing) on the screen of my phone. But after the phone restarts, i experience the same bootloop problem. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Open Odin, uncheck everything, flash latest stock ROM from sammobile (https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-N7100/), you'll see the word "reset" in the status window, remove USB cable from the phone, remove battery, replace battery, boot into recovery using volume up+power+home, factory wipe, reboot.

Before proceeding, I'd like to ask:
1 - I have a motherboard that I've obtained from China. Would it be ok for me to flash as you've recommended with this motherboard, taking into account the "RPMB: INVALID RPMB DATA" message that appears in download mode ?
2 - Can I install any of the latest firmwares available on sammobile for my galaxy note 2 ?
3 - Would I be able to install TWRP and custom roms after ?
Thanks
1) The important thing is to match the model # to the firmware. If you try to flash firmware from sammobile and it is not the correct firmware, Odin will stop the flash process. As of right now, this seems to be the safest method to get the phone working.
2) See my response to question 1.
3) Yes, you can install TWRP and custom ROMs either before or after flashing a stock ROM. I recommend getting the phone to work with a stcok ROM before trying custom ROMs.

It's flashing properly with no error? When you try to enter recovery, what shows on screen? Did you try any other firmware? I see there is PE2 firmware too.

Yes it flashes with no errors. When turning the phone on, the samsung galaxy note 2 logo appears for just under a second, and the phone restarts and repeats until i remove the battery. Nothing happens when I try to enter the recovery menu, the same behaviour is observed (phone restarting constantly after showing SGnote2 logo). I have been reading around, and i suspect (just a guess, not sure) that the "RPMB: INVALID RPMB DATA" message that I observe in download mode may have something to do with this.
You may have to have it fixed at a cell repair shop. They may be able to fix it via jtag cable or maybe with an Octopus box.

Is there anything else that i could try ? I used an app to check the bootloader version when it was working on stock 4.4.2, and it stated that it was at LJ7. After updating the bootloader to NE1, I've experienced this problem. Would it be possible to revert back to the previous bootloader ( and would this help ?). Are you sure the bootloader was for your phone? I know that updating the bootloader without updating anything else on the Samsung s3 can cause the phone to hard or soft brick.

Yeah. Would it be possible to revert the bootloader back to what it was previously ? Also, is there anything else that you may suggest that i could do ? I'm still not sure what is causing this issue exactly. It seems strange that I can flash all files with no errors using Odin. By flashing a later firmware, is the bootloader automatically updated ? ( if yes, then I'm not sure why the app stated that my bootloader version was at LJ7, given that I've flashed stock 4.4.2 with odin beforehand.)
Do you have a link for the bootloader?
Did the phone work properly before flashing the new NE1 bootloader?

I have not tried flashing the latest rom ( I could try, if that may help). I can not provide the direct link to the bootloader, since i will have to produce 10 posts ( new user here lol ). You can find the bootloader by searching google: [bootloader/modem/rom][tw kitkat][4.4.2][pf1 + pc1 + oe1 + od4 + nl1 +], then going to Androidwizzard second post.
The phone was working great before flashing the NE1 bootloader. As mentioned previously, I've flashed the N7100XXUFOC2 firmware resulting in no change.
Try flashing the latest ROM PF1 ROM as that may help.
I think updating the bootloader without updating other parts of the ROM may have caused the problem but I don't know for sure.
If flashing the latest ROM does not work, try flashing the latest ROM with a pit file. If that still doesn't work, you may have to have it force flashed at a cell shop.

It should not matter at this point because you want to get the phone booted. Once booted, you should be able to change the carrier later.
