[Q] Voice calls battery drain - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
I own a dual sim variant of LG G4 H818 model.
I have huge battery drain from voice calls. If i have 10 min of SOT and 10 min of voice calls then the battery drain from voice calls is much greater than Screen.
I have fully wiped my mobile twice and have even swapped sim to different position. But still the same problem persists. Please suggest what to do?

I also noticed one more thing.
The google play services that came pre-installed with the phone drained only about 2-3% but when I updated the same to 7.3.xx version the battery drain increased to about 25% from google play services.

I need help!!!
I am running on android kit kat 4.4.2 (not rooted) Since last update Google play services keeps my phone awake even when phone is in sleep AND in safe mode. Like I said, I was using my phone in safe mode for twelve hours just to be sure that none of installed applications is not draining my battery. When I went to sleep last night battery was at 76% and after 6 hours battery was at 11%, when I checked battery history, wi-fi was off while phone is at sleep, "network signal" line was solid (as it suppose to be) and "keep awake" was solid blue also and it was running for 7 hours 16 minutes, straight (which is NOT suppose to be). And imagine my surprise when I saw GOOGLE PLAY SERVICES among running apps exact period of time!
It is obvious that Google play services drains battery. What can I do to prevent mentioned app to suck out life out of my battery and still to be able to use application that needs Google play services.
Thank you in advance.
I forgot to mention that I am dealing with this problem 15-20 days already and that I tried almost everything. Location is on gps only, wipe cash in recovery, remove battery, battery calibration, right now running in safe mode.........etc, etc, etc

Hi
have you disabled google play services ?
or you can try the following Google settings >location >location mode >choose battery saving mode or device only
battery saving and device only should reduce battery drain if you have to have gps on, otherwise shut gps ,Google play services can still function without gps .i think high accuracy while more accurate it is not yet optimized for day to day use yet
The Google play services affects most devices which have kitakt
Several of my coworkers have this phone on Rogers. They have had this problem for years. The phone stays "Awake" all the time, even when the screen is off.
I have the same one but on Bell. It worked fine for about 2 years. All of a sudden this week I have the same problem as them. Phone stays awake all the time and battery now goes dead in ~4-6 hours instead of 2-3 days when not used.
Very frustrating. Any known fix is appreciated.

[Q] Battery Drain Problem

Uh-oh.....
Another battery drain thread.....
Heh heh, this is what's going on:
I'm using my Note III as my audio player. I'm using the Temasek CM11 ROM, with the Zion Kernel.
I've customized the ROM for use as an audio player. I've removed many apps I don't need, including the Dialer and Contacts.
I have Airplane Mode engaged full-time, as I won't be needing a cellular signal, and Locations has been turned off full-time.
This device is nearly Google-free, save the Play Store. Google Play Services has been removed (I have me reasons!).
Now, theoretically, the phone should Deep Sleep forever right, especially when absolutely nothing is running?
My battery life was stellar right after I completed my setup. The phone would sleep for hours without dropping even 1%.
After the first recharge, the battery has changed gears, dropping up to 3% per hour. This is while the device is 'Deep Sleeping'.
I don't know what could be happening.
That brings me to a secondary question as to what happens after a phone is removed from the charger?
When I had Google Play Services on my device, Google Play Services would keep my device awake right after I remove it from the charger. Syncing my account would finally put the device to sleep.
What could be causing the drain on my Note 3?
And what runs after a device pulled from the charger?
Thanks for any and all assistance.

[Q] Battery drain on stock 4.4.4 / rooted / unlocked / doomkernel

Up to now I'm happy with my Z1C.
But in the last weeks the battery drain went up.
Before that I could get a day and a half to two days of use , I am a moderate user during the day.
Most of the time wifi is off, 4g is off but bluetooth is on, day and night.
Before I had bluetooth turned off when not in the car.
But because I bought a Smartband talk I switched bluetooth to on without turning it off again.
Up to last week the battery was draining faster because of the bluetooth use but it was still good enough for me.
The last weeks / months I downloaded a lot more music on the external card and switched USB use to MSC so I could use it in my car. I listened to music in the car when driving to and from my workplace (1 hour drive single way).
Because it was charging in the morning and in the evening I did not notice any abnormal behavior.
Before I started to use the phone as a mediaplayer in the car I could get 1.5 to 2 days.
When using it as a mediaplayer this did not change, probably because of the charging in the car
Now I switched from workplace and stopped listening to music in the car.
Now my phone lasts for 0.8 up to 1 day max.
When looking at the battery stats it seems to me the mediaserver was eating up a lot.
So I deleted all data from the phone and I did a reset to factory settings. I also removed 80% of the music on the external sd card.
But even then I get a battery drain from 30-35% in about 7 hours time during the night.
I'm running again with only necessary apps installled.
So for the time being no xposed modules, no smartband talk and only switching bluetooth on when using the phone in the car.
But the problem does not seem to be solved.
I have a weak signal at home (1 bar), I had a weak signal at my previous workplace (1 bar) and I have a weak signal at my current workplace (als 1 bar max).
I wonder what is eating the battery so fast?
Is it the weak signal?
Is it because I charged the battery too much (every morning and evening in the car)?
Is my battery dying?
Is it related to an app (multiple apps)?
I have this phone since april 2014.
I am on 14.4.A.0.108 / unlocked / rooted with the doomkernel v22.
So can anybody tell me what monitoring app to use and how to interprete the results from such an app?
I'm in stamina mode.
Estimated lifespan battery is at 2 days when an actual battery percentage of 42%.
I already have betterbatterystats but I do not know if this is the best app for monitoring.
Is there something else I have to look into?
Today I was trying to get my settings in the state I need them to be and when looking at power management / battery usage I can see the screen is the biggest battery user but that seems normal in the current situation.
What about deep sleep, how to monitor this?
How to identify apps being the biggest battery consumers?
What about the apps in manage notifications, there's a lot of them, will it help disabling some / a lot of them?
I really like to get back to charging the phone only once every 2 days.
Any help would really be appreciated.

Better Battery Stats is you friend, it will help you locate what it depleting your battery and keeping your phone awake, as well as listing the deepsleep times .
If you have a rooted phone download Disableservice from the playstore. Reading your post you use a fitness tracker so disabling all of these might not work, but it's worth a go.
Once it's installed, open the system tab, open Google Play Services, then untick (disable) the following:
ConfigFetchService
FitnessSyncAdapterService
GoogleLocationManagerService
GoogleLocationService
NetworkLocationService
ProximitySettingInjectorService
UserPresenceService
WearableControlService
WearableService
WearableSyncService
then reboot your phone.
Disabling these from running should have no impact on your phone, it doesn't for me, and will give you 10-15% more battery life.
Turning of sync on your Gmail also saves a lot of battery, especially if you live in a poor reception area, as it polls the Gmail server every few minutes. Likewise sync on your normal emails. It means you have to check yourself to see if you have any mail, but will put a few extra hours on your battery.
The other thing that extended my battery life was deleting the cached data. Settings\Storage and hold down on Cached data until you get a popup asking you to delete it. I know it sounds bizarre, but it really worked.
Try putting a stock kernel back in for a few days and see if that makes a difference.

LG G4 Battery drain (Google play services, Viber, Android system, Cell standby)

Hello guys, im new to xda and this is my first thread so go easy on me,
I Have G4 H815 international version, upgraded from lollypop to mm as soon as lg rolled it out. Few months have passed with exellent battery, no problems at all. And then suddenly a month ago battery drain have started siriusly to impact on battery life, im talking about 1 hour screen on time, over night 20% standby drain while asleep ~7h. This is what i have tried:
-Bought a new battery - same drain
-Factory reset - nothing chaneged.
Note:
~30% Android system
~25% Google Play services
~12% Android OS
And then was Screen
So 2 weeks after, i have tried to delete updates of Google play services (version 8.4.89(2428711-440)) and disable.
Things got worse.
Battery barely charged, and done another factory reset, only installed WhatsApp and Viber, after which battery got about 15% better.
Note:
screen 29%
google play services 12%
Viber 10%
Android System 9%
Cell standby 9%
Android OS 5%
Disabled everything in hidden menu, but nothing still.
If anyone have any suggestions or thoughts feel free answer.
In advance thanks, im sorry for bad grammar, not my mother language and screenshots still dont know how to upload

If you keep data and sync turned on during the night that must be the source of your battery drain. Those things are the biggest battery suckers. If you changed your carier that could also been the reason for the anormal battery drain because the signal reception could be worse than the one from your previous caries thus sucking more battery. I mean, if the signal is weak you end up losing more battery. If you keep data on while traveling on public transports that also sucks a lot of battery because the signal is constantly changing between 4g and 3g and that sucks balls.
Anyway, you have here several reasons. I don't exactly know the details of your battery history so you should consider my points and see if any fit your problem
