Hi, I am updating now via Smart Switch (the new Kies)
Good Luck you are my Hero, or should i say guinea pig.
John.
Good luck? Guinea Pig? Really?
It's official firmware, same rom version was already released in other countries, it's quite stable don't worry.

Not sure what you are wanting to do but I use an app called ES File Explorer and I can transfer anything to my microsd card, I also back up all my roms to my microsd card via TWRP
Does this help or would you like me to test something for you.
I use to use this wifi file transfer app all the time on my phones and other tablets to transfer files to the microsd, but it did not work with my Tab S because of v4.4.2 blocks access to the microsd, it means i have to plug the usb cable in to transfer every file regardless of size, when it took seconds using wifi.

Thanks

Just had a go but I couldn't get it work but as I have never used a wifi transfer app to transfer files I am not sure if I was doing it right.
You do know that if you don't like 5.0.2. firmware you can always flash 4.4.2 firmware via Odin.
I dont really want to flash while i am still in warranty, I wish there was an easy way to root my T800, I tried kingroot the apk and windows version but it did not work.
Thanks anyway.

Download Smart Switch to a computer and use the program to update, took me 40 mins from start to finish.
I did it that way but unfortunately it wiped my device. I was hoping to get around that but at least i'm back to UK firmware

Where are you located? If you search around you'll find phones designed for the UAE often come w/o market as it's apparently not allowed. Also, most (if not all) who have this issue find they cannot add market. Perhaps rooting will make it work.
Also of note, some people who have ordered their phones over the internet have gotten "Saudi" phones even if they are not in that market. And, apparently, the manufacturers sometimes will not support the phone.

I ordered it from the internet and I think its from the gulf region because of the arabic manual. I wanted to ask If I flashed another rom will it work and which rom should I flash ,that is stable and fast.
and now to flashing I just start the phone while pressing up volume and ON. Then connect to my pc, start RSD lite and flash the rom?

The new NC2 firmware might be a reaction to solve this vulnerability. If we saw this little fella, then T-mobile is still interested in keeping our phone updated. Last month Samsung USA talked about their KitKat plans in the USA which includes the GS3. So it could go either way since it depends on the carrier (T-mobile in our case) approving the update. I read the international GS3 KitKat rollout starting between April-May in a leak released days ago, so we'll have to keep our eyes peeled.

After "Software Extraction" it says cannot connect to server. Though it looks like it is doing something in the background. Then around 50% it stops due to an unknown error.
Now I'm stuck in download mode.

The s6 is out now?
No, but there are enough engineers at service centers, distributors, inside Samsung itself, who already have one, leak the necessary files, and test the roots, for this to be available already.

Not working here either. I just received my T-Mobile GS6 today and I can't get it to apply the root. Odin just keeps failing.
Could it be the out-of-the-box OTA we received? Or was this ever actually working?
