hi , i recently bought a note 4 off of kijiji. i just realized that the box it came in was the fake box where it says n910 on the bottom left corner, yet when i check odin its all in english and shows n910-a, see the attachment, the phone on the left is my coworkers who got one from rogers ( local carrier here in Toronto Canada), mine is on the right side. when i try to run antutu benchmark i get 42-44000 points. the stylus looks like the original stylus but it doesnt activate air command when it comes out, i tried my friends stylus and it worked fine, cpuz shows that i have a snapdragon 805 processor and 32gigs of memory (24ish usable). did i get screwed or what? oh i checked the camera settings and its the same as on my friends camera, and it shows samsung logo during startup. i can take more pictures if anyone else needs it.. also i just noticed a tiny amount of backlight bleed from the bottom right corner where the screen meets the frame.
They look the same to me. Hard to tell, although the batteries look different for sure.
i watched this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoCdjzEDQ5U
now here is what is confusing me :
1. my friends stylus pen is the same as mine, his will turn on air command and mine wont in either. ( bad pen?)
2. my camera settings are the exact same as his,
3. i have the cheap plastic backcover and his is kinda like leather,
4. i have a tiny amount of backlight bleed between the frame and back button on the bottom right corner.
5. cpuz shows that i have snapdragon 805 processor
6. baseband version shows as a legit phone.
see attachment below i took a screenshot of the about phone section
its like a bought a real note 4 that didnt pass quality control and got put in a fake note 4 box lol
You checked s pen settings for the air command?

yes it is all on, my s pen looks exactly the same as his except its a tad bit lighter, it does not look like the fake one, mine wont work in his or mine ( the air command part, the actual pen itself works on the touchscreen) his s pen is detected by my phone and air command works fine on my phone.
did another antutu benchmark, 48000 was score.
One of the tell-tale signs that I started checking for a fake phone was A) processor (which you said was verified to be SD805?), and B) screen resolution. To actually check the resolution quickly and easily, take a screenshot, then open the screenshot in gallery, view info, and see the resolution. Typically fake phones come with 720p screens cuz they're dirt cheap. A 1440 screen, not so much. Maybe take a camera pic as well and do the same and verify the resolution of the image matches what its supposed to be as well (16MP).
I bought an International GS5 last summer off Swappa to use on ATT and be unlockable bootloader. Got the phone and immediately noticed weird things similar to you. Then checked the items I just told you about.... my screen resolution was actually 720 rather than 1080, my camera was only taking 5MP images, my processor was listed as 'unknown', and I had a random build number that there was no record of online. Kinda weird when your phone's build, when put into a google search, comes up with ZERO hits.

I found an ad for a HTC one X that has apparently only been used for 3 days, so it is sorta brand new. The seller is asking for 425$ and most of the One Xs seem to retail for 600-700$. I've never bought a phone like this before and I am just a little skeptical. Is there any possible way to be scammed, i.e could this be a duped/fake One X? I guess my question is what sort of inspections can I perform to ensure that I am not being scammed and that the phone is in great condition? Thank you in advance.
Yes people can scam you but this is a great community. You can ask for imei number and check phone recycle sites to see if it recognised it. Also when paying through paypal you can always raise a dispute if he fails to send it and claim a refund. Request photos of it wrapped ready to send. See photos before u buy with his xda name and date on paper in the pic with the phone and get tracking number. If its in marketplace its a good place to buy people are trust worthy here just request pics like I said and stop worrieng

Ahh I see. I just messaged him asking for the IMEI number. I am actually meeting this seller in person. We are just going to meet at a local coffee shop and make the exchange so I will get to see the phone prior to buying it. Anything I should look out for/inspect? Haha, you're right, I should stop worrying. Thank for your advice man!!!

Screen flicker, gaps, 'ripple screen', scratches, etc. Might not be a big problem but you can probably negotiate the price down a little if there is any.

These are good things to look out for to serve as a starting point. Also, are you a developer or you just want to own this vicious beast? You might want to check or ask the seller if this was a developer phone before?
I usually do the usual bootloader recovery check (Volume Down+Power Button) just to check if the bootloader is already unlocked, if it is the next question would be if the phone is rooted. Alhough rooting a phone is usually safe in the hands of people who knows how to deal with it, you might want to cover this ground as well...
I don't know man, seems kinda cheap for a phone that's been lauched just a couple of weeks ago.Check that everything works,a friend of mine had to go with his One X back at the store to get a new one because the camera wasn't working.Check absolutly everything before you buy the phone, even look for dead pixels or things like that.
Ow,and watch out because the Chinese already lauched replicas for One X.
Exactly as said above, the entire Galaxy Nexus seems to be white, the digitialzer (which was always black before) is white also. Looks like a choppy image however, anyone bought it/planning on getting it and able to post pics?

The Expansys solds phone worldwide, and even Japanese buy some "imported" phones at their country.
Well,I suggest contact for more information,if U still not trust them,U should not buy.

Don't think this phone exists... I feel like they just accidentally took one of the photos that was made when the first rumors of the white model came out.
It may or may not exist. They could have colored it themselves, and are selling it off as completely white, or it's like martonikaj said.
Do not check "yes this is a question" unless you are posting in Q&A.
I took the [Q] out of the title since this is a more general topic
Thanks

We definitely did not color it ourselves However, we are discontinuing them. Have a few more than backordered on the way in, but then we wont be offering them anymore.

Just curious, where did you get fully white GNs? I thought they were never manufactured? Is this the work of a third party custom job?

We get them from a few different suppliers actually. I've never opened one myself. It will be back live on the site shortly, for the few remaining ones. We bought a large amount on a closeout, and then got enough to cover our orders + a few extra. Seems someone discontinued it a bit to early so we fixed it. Will come back online soon.
I wonder who made them. They must be custom built... right?

White case, black face
I'm looking right this second at the white GN I bought from Expansys. The body of the phone is white (and gorgeous, might I add), while the front face is black. The photo on Expansys showed an entirely white phone, but I just assumed it was an incorrect photo. (And I was right.)
And, for what it's worth, it came with a UK (I believe? Definitely not standard USA) charger, and an adapter to fit it into a standard USA outlet.
Since it looks like one of the Expansys fellas is in this thread, thanks a lot. Really enjoying my purchase :]

The photo on their page really is sort of confusing. But, given how many black-and-white shots and reviews I saw, I sort of went with Occum's Razor.
Really minor point, but definitely one that confused me for a bit too.
FWIW...I just ordered one the other day and it is white body with black face. I was hoping for something unique. But oh well. Still a pretty phone.
Awwww I was pretty excited as well.
Oh well, just buy a white skin and it'll look the same.

The first problem I noticed is that there is a typo on the phone battery cavity. It says 1300 mAh and it should read 3100

Why is ther no support for FM radio on the TMobile version according to Engadget ( link: http://www.engadget.com/update/samsung-galaxy-note-ii-usa/ )
so with my music issue what I did was unplug and replug a few times to get it to stop skipping. I'm currently listening with no issue I haven't tried to recreate anything in fear of skipping music again. I will plug in and give it a whirl when I get home to see if it skips ..... if it doesn't then I'll just mark it down as weirdness

My international note says that too.
3.8V - 1300 mA.
So that means the fastest charging current is 1.3A? 3.5/1.3 = 2.7 hours to charge with the best charger?

Ijust don't find the stylus a responsive as my finger sometimes. For example when Web browsing, I can't consistently get the bookmarks icon in the upper right corner of the screen in portrait orientation screen to consistently register when using the stylus. It works every time when I use my finger.
They said the tip of the stylus is rubbery, but when it taps the screen it clicks like it's made of plastic. I've never used the stylus for the first note but when they said rubber tip I was expecting it to be rubbery like an eraser but it still feels plasticy

Samsung has a track record of not including FM Radio on the US release of their phones. Not sure why that is. The One Series from HTC have them.

Well your not too far off... I went to the store on Alpine in Grand Rapids and they had 3 Titanium in stock and they said the Samsung rep just left and he also told them that they most likely will not see any other storage configurations... That would blow... Gimme a 32gb!! I was the 1st person from that store to call about a Note 2 and was the first one to pick one up and that was at 12:30 this afternoon so the demand seems kinda low since they only had 3 and they still had all three after noon! Ya I used to work at Sprint years ago as a technician but now, with most of all service centers closed down, they just give you a refurb instead of bothering with getting it fixed... It was good while it lasted but, as you know, the economy is not very well over here... :crying:
After sending my faulty galaxy s3 in for repair at telus, then getting it back with a scratched/cracked camera lens, they gave me a brand new galaxy s3 replacement. Im not sure if "brand new" is actually brand new or not, but I saw the guy take it out of the box and everything. So I've had it for about 4 days and I noticed a blue dot on my screen, which kind of looks like a dead pixel but I can see the dot when the the device is turned off too, and it looks like its blue coloured.
Has anyone else had problems like this?
Also on a replacement device, do stores usually allow exchanges on them?
Thanks

Hey guys.I'm new here and I'm a HTC10 user for the first time. Before this phone I used LG Nexus4 and P970.
I'm loving this device so far.The device is with me for 7-8 months. But last month it snowed here in Turkey and I was on my way to basketball match at night in the Arena.I saw this issue for first time at that night.Thought it's about cold weather(because it's metal body?).BTW I've got a Spigen's 2 pieced case.
Also this device has been already RMAd once because of screen popped out(glue was not strong enough I guess).
But this month I'm seeing it almost everyday. When I touch screen with a little pressure it's going away for a second and comes back or not(it's just random sometimes).Sometimes I can't even take photo because of randomness of this issue. Also there's a little white dot in the bottom right corner of screen. It appears at white backgrounds and it's brighter than other areas. This is also an issue for me.
Tomorrow I'll RMA my phone to local service in here.
Just wanted to let you guys now about this and ask what it is all about?

It has a lot of display problem. HTC 10 is flawed
Today I got the call from repair service. They said my device is repaired. Here's what's changed:
-Motherboard(New IMEI)
-Cpu (Dunno why)
-Lcd screen (From Sharp to Tianma)
Everything is perfect for now.Happy to get back on my musics with this phone and Hd598Cs. :highfive:
There's one thing I noticed because I used both LCD screens from Sharp and Tianma.
Sharp had a shadows(kinda look like it) on the side of panel. And Tianma has a yellow tint at bottom side of screen. Some guys said that It's glue and will go in time

Yeah I'm happy with the way of solution.
Because someguy in here(Turkey),got a swap report and waited for a new device about 3 months.Because our services gather all devices in together once in month and at that time there was no swap unit for the guy.So he just waited, waited and waited...
But here's the thing,if you're going to change mobo, cpu and LCD;why don't you just swap? Only things that aren't repaired probably the camera, speakers, antennas etc.

Released in April, I got mine on release day, could be a faulty batch. As you can't really communicate with htc directly (as in the tech who'll be looking at the phone) you have very little sway over what they do next.
It'd be interesting to see if they share notes with each other based on your case file, perhaps talking with them directly they can agree that a like for like replacement would be the most viable option moving forward. If not I'd say insurance would be the only other option, besides third party but at this point a patch up wouldn't fill me with confidence.
Sorry mate, not a lot more I can think of.

Any idea how I could identify mine?
Nvm, mine is a sharp.
You can identify it with the Dev check app. Not sure if that's what you already used.

Yeah that's how I checked my screen. If you ask about serial number it was on the box or in the box. There was a sticker on my box when I bought.
And btw I got my phone back from repair last week. They repaired it quick, about 3 days. There's no problem but the yellow tint at bottom of screen. It's a common issue with Tianma,at least people say so.

This the third? And theres a yellow tint? Sweet jesus you've not had much luck have you?
Sorry mate, but if that were me i'd be sending it back and asking for a new one, I'd cause hell over the phone with them. I'd make sure that the repair guys who are physically going to touch my device got the memo.
Really bad.

Well there's difference between UK Customer Services or HTC UK and HTC Turkey. For example: HTC Turkey says "You can replace it or get a reserve phone while yours is getting repaired, bla bla. But services say they'll give it to you if yours is not repaired after 10 work-days.Also HTC Turkey is not good at marketing, production or customer services. Some guys waited 3-6 months for replacement unit.
I'm using the same device but first time screen popped out from bottom left and changed. Also back button light was very dim than the other one. Then there was this screen problems at imgur album appeared, showed line like artifacts and white dot at bottom right(That's white dot is also common in a lot of users).Screen, mobo and CPU changed but still with the same metal body(I know it because there's a tiny dent at the body).

Appreciate different regions may have different levels of customer service, even though I strongly disagree with this.
Perhaps a complain to htc global? Explaining your predicament?
I'm not sure mate,
