[Q] Disable floating popup during call - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How can I disable this popup showing when you're in call on another app? It's a floating pop-up, but I don't need it, because I can go back to the call using the notification icon. Thank you.

Just disable it in call settings.

You can't disable it with out root.. It's the same as the G3..

How is it called? I mean a small green floating pop-up *during* the call. Ah, thank you Swizzle82.

I had this yesterday when I was on a call and person I was chatting to wanted a website link sending that I had been on earlier. This floating pop up covered the address bar so I couldn't copy/paste it...

You can drag it around the screen if it's in the way

Yes just untick the 'incoming voice call pop-up' option and the floating window wont show up, any incoming calls will now open the dialer in fullscreen; btw no root required.

Sprint version does not have the option!. Damn this sucks

No marcadam this option is if you are using another app and you receive a call, but does not take effect to the floating popup you get while you're in call.

Pop-up during call
Well, the "disable pop-up window thing" only removes the pop-up when receiving the call, not the pop-up that's present during the call... (See screenshot)
Any clues on how to get rid of that? (might call LG and give you guys an update later on)

Get the G4 tweak box and xposed framework. Then if you buy the full version of the tweak box for 3 bucks you can disable it

Receiving SMS messages after phone call and/or missed call

Is there a cab that can disable the SMS msg I get after a phone call or missed one?
And yes, I have searched high & low for a solution on this site & can't find it.
Thanks!
So, my situation is unique? No one else has had this issue?
It's not an sms message.. it's just a pop up... and its dependent on what rom you are using really on how you turn on and off your notifications. If you are running a custom rom like Energy or something go to their thread and ask how to disable the particular notification.
usually its settings\sounds and notifications\ then go to the notifications tab and in there you can change what your phone does for different events.

You want to turn off the "missed call" icon on the task bar? I don't recall anyone requesting this before...

No, he wants to turn of the message that comes in with details about the missed call (date/time).
The missed call notification was off. Actually, it shows as a SMS message with the phone number that called or the call that I made. It definitely seems like a ROM issue - just flashed to Jackos' (so far perfect IMO) ROM & haven't had that issue at all. Thanks - I think I've found the solution.
Hey guys, the damn notification is back again! What the hell is that?
Are you using Youmail for your Voicemail?

If the phone is off you drag up to decline, then drag up the messaging bubble . You'll 5-6 predefined texts, or enter your own.
If the phone is on, tap decline, then choose to send a message from the following dialog that auto-appears.
If you don't see either, open your phone app, hit the settings (...) and scroll down to the bottom.
Check "Declined Calls".

Thank you..
It does seem to be working when the phone is locked, but not when the phone is not locked. Tap on the Decline is simply disconnecting the call but there is no popup.
In the call setting the Declined Call setting is checked.

No problem. There is a check box in that mode to "not show this option" to you again (see attached). Maybe you accidentally hit? I'm not sure how you'd undo it. Maybe uncheck then re-check the Declined Calls box we talked about above?
Factory reset? I don't see anything else in the phone settings or messaging app that look useful.

Screen doesn't turn on for me when I get texts using stock messaging app. It's been that way out of the box, I never had to disable anything.
What model you have?
Sent from my LG G3 using Tapatalk
Yes, it's an annoying feature but unfortunately cannot be turned off if you use the stock messaging app. One option is to use 3rd party messaging like go message
I have just tested. Seems that hangouts doesn't turn on the screen

I have the D851 US T-Mobile variant. I use the stock SMS app and my screen does not turn on when I get a text or MMS. It was that way out of the box, I'm not using Hangouts, so I don't know how that works there.
I think I might have found the issue in message settings.

yes you have to uncheck notifications - display message notifications if you don't want the screen to turn when you receive an sms BUT you won't be notified with a message tone but only through the LED (color green).
new message pop-up - little popup box upper left corner on homescreen. only shows from whom and not some of the message if preview is unchecked.
preview - shows a preview of message.
if you only disable any of these two but still checked notifications, screen will still light up and you still get to hear message tone but no popup window on upper left of homescreen.
LG should fix these as some people still want the option hear the message tone when a text arrives but don't want the screen to turn on and also retain the option to turning the screen on for those who want it this way. not like this one wherein the only option you have if you want screen off when receiving message is the message tone is also disabled.
for now, tweaks from mods like tweaksbox perhaps will do.
confirmed tweak new message screen off from g3 tweaksbox works the way it should for those who want screen off when receiving new message but still want the message tone. just remember to restart phone when setting this option.

I have a tmobile lg g3 and would like the screen to wake or popup when i receive new sms. I am not talking about pop up on the top left corner when the screen is on. I am talking about sms popup when the screen is off. Please let me know to to fix this. I would really appreciate it.

How do disable the floating phone icon

Been searching and trying to figure out how to disable the floating phone icon when in call. It's pretty annoying.
What floating phone icon?
Really? Wow... I love that thing... Instead of stopping what you are doing to answer the call I just use that pop up
Its my sisters phone. So I don't have it on me I'm just trying to figure out a way to disable it for her
You mean the small teal bar that just has the time counter? If so, no way to do it unless you root and G3tweaksbox has it in there to disable it.

I think it's when your in a call and there's a box that shows the call time
The Xposed module G3 TweaksBox has this ability in the latest beta. It may only be available with the donate key, I'm not sure I already have the donate version.

awful floating phone call status blob

Any idea how to disable it while trying to use the phone when in a call?
That phone status blob is horrendous. I'm constantly repositioning it but it is always in the way.
Fix
Go to setting >> Call >> uncheck incoming voice call pop up

That doesn't stop it, it only stops it when an apps in use , always there when on a call. I'd like to disable it permanently.
I disabled it and I don't see it on a call... Try restart device

That's not what we are talking about.
That applies to the popup for incoming calls. The blob is still there for any ongoing call.
1. Make a call
2. Minimize phone app
3. Witness the blob overlay on whatever you do

you are talking that floating icon with voice speaking out their calling ID? I think it's from one of the LG software. Try uninstall voice mate. I had that problem didn't know how to get ride of it. I was mass uninstalling some of the LG software and got Nova launcher on. Now it's gone.
