So i have been using the universal root tool for LG optimus g for 3-4 months about two days ago, my phone signal suddenly stop working i cant use my phone to make calls or use my 3G or 4GLTE internet anymore. Only thing i can do is use my Wifi, i tried doing a factory reset and i also tried upgrading my profile but i cant do that without the phones 3G or 4G internet.
Is there a way to fix this? i dont wanna go back to my crappy htc evo 3d again

So by the universal root tool, do you mean fiddy's universal root? All it does is root your phone. It won't mess up your EFS.
Are you unlocked? Using FreeGee? If you were unlocked, there was an option to backup your EFS. Hopefully you did it if you were unlocked.
Go to Settings>About phone>Phone Identity. Do you have all zero's? Or do you have all kinds of different numbers there. You can learn/fix EFS here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2161498
If you still have all the numbers for your EFS, check and make sure your Data is turned on. In the notification bar, or in Setting>More>Mobile networks.
Worse case you may need to LGNPST to fix it. You can get info on that here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230106 Under the Additional info.
All of this is assuming you're still on stock.

Well, did you check those things above? You can't flash anything unless you're unlocked. And you said you're just rooted.
If your EFS was fine and not zeroed out, you shouldn't need to fix anything. And if you unlock and then back it up, you're just backing up a bad EFS.
So following the earlier post, what were your findings. Then, where are you at now.

It'll get you into stock recovery. You'll need to do a factory reset. It'll erase everything. Then it should boot up.
Stock recovery can be tricky to get into the first time.

So, on Thursday I picked up an LG G3 from Verizon. I was absolutely loving it. But like most people, I wanted custom ROM's and roots and all the fun stuff you can do with android phones. I rooted my device the day I got it with IORoot. Everything is working fine at this point.
After this, i wanted a custom ROM. I found that there wasn't many for my specific model, but i did see the Sphinx G3 Neo ROM. I payed no attention to what variant it was for and loaded it up on my phone. At first, everything was working perfectly and it was butter smooth. But then I noticed whatever messaging app I tried to use would not work. I did a factory reset and then did the same process to load Sphinx on my G3. This time, messages were working, however, mobile data was not. I finally had enough of this and decided to return to the stock ROM. I found all of the stock files and was attempting to use the TOT method. I put the phone in download mode (which it won't come out of btw) and tried to start flashing. I then realized what I had done and saw that my device was reading something like D855. So when I downloaded the Verizon files it wont work. But will I be able to fix this? Have any of you had this problem before? This phone is brand new and I cannot replace it at this point. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out.
Hi,
So sad to hear that. Have you tried TOT files from this thread?
I hope your imei is intact.

I don't it is bricked per say. I do believe that the only way to solve the problem will be to do as you were trying, return it to stock with .tot files, you just need to find some information which I did see in the threads somewhere with regards to getting out of download mode.
Once you get that done and flash back to stock, then you can root again, I would suggest using Stump root, and the unlock the bootloader with Bump, and this would be a good time to make a backup with the recovery TWRP.
Be calm and read as much as possible, I hope you sort it out. Good luck.

A bit of background on my device - I have a D855 from HK. I flashed the rooted Lollipop by @Skin1980 but decided to go back to KK. While on L, my LTE didn't work. Now that I've downgraded to KK, if I have the phone set to LTE/GSM/WCDMA, the phone will boot up with LTE working. As soon as I go into the Phone Info screen to change it to WCDMA preferred, it will go on H+. If I want to go back to LTE, the phone pick up the LTE signal for half a second and then lose it. The only way I can get it to get back on LTE is if I reboot the phone.
The reason I do this is because I get a better H+ signal in most places than I do the LTE signal so I leave it on H+ to conserve battery life as I'm mostly on wifi and I change it to LTE when I need to download large files when I'm not on wifi.
I have already flashed the KK Modem file that was provided by @Skin1980. This never happened before I upgraded to L and then downgraded back to KK. Does this happen to anyone else who has downgraded and does anyone know how to fix this?
Try flashing the kk modem a couple more times, for some reason modems can be a bit tricky and dont always flash properly, can some times take several flashes before they seem to stick
if this doesnt work then maybe the modem is for the international d855 and not for the hk rom your using?

I tried installing it several times but it didn't help. I wasn't aware there was more than one modem for different regions. I was always on an HK modem before and it works here in the UK. But after I applied the KK modem skin1980 provided for downgrading to KK from L, I started seeing this issue.
If I turn the radio off and then back on, it'll lock onto an LTE signal some of the time. But if I set the modem to LTE only, it will find the LTE signal for half a second, then lose it and cannot find it again....
Well it sounds like the same sort of problem some get using the lp modem on kk rom, maybe try installing a custom rom like cloudy if your models supported, failing that try a full wipe and flash kdz again

Thank You, I see on the other threads you are very helpful. I have been rooting/roming since the droid 1 but with every device it's always something new.
I was allready rooted, but by searching the threads I was also able to downgrade my aboot to 4.2.2 and then flash twrp and make a backup, I feel much safer now as far as tweaking etc.

I haven't had a chance to restore my stock backup yet, been a hell of a day trying to get new official stock Lollipop to behave on my wife's phone. I won't digress further.
I'm going to clear space on a USB OTA flash drive now to make a fresh nandroid, then I can restore 100% stock and get that for you.

Sorry for the confusion but I do have that screen. Qpair tells me to updatevia the update center. So after searching xda I was under the impression that there was supposed to be an update center app on my tablet that was preloaded by LG. Then in that update center app it's supposed to have app updates for the LG apps. I will post screenshots of my error when I try to use qpair.
The update center apk should be in system/priv_app/lgupdatecenter.apk

That's okay. I expected that to be the case.
I too haven't found any app in the app drawer or apk in priv-app. What I found I searched for "update" in my file manager, plus the OTA-related one I spotted.
I'm going to do some digging into the pre-Stump'd 23A and see if I have any better luck. What I'm running now is a restored nandroid I had saved of completely stock, no SuperSU, but I didn't specifically note and I'm not sure if I had Stump'd this copy. Obviously I had to have Stump'd to get rooted in the first place, but this time around, anyway, I merely wiped the device, restored only the System (I had only backed up that and Boot) and then flashed the latest SuperSU.zip to root it but my memory is hazy on what I had done to make a nandroid on as pure stock as I could.
I've got some ideas to try a definite pre-Stump'd copy and I'll give you an update when I get anywhere.
I apologize for being so wordy. [emoji6]
I just wanted to check, you are on 23A, right?

I was having a problem trying to find the modem for my D851 here on XDA. There were many plainly listed for D855 and other models of the G3. I am using Paranoid/ASOP 5.1.1 Rom and I accidentally flashed a D855 radio. Rookie mistake, I know... And thought I backed up the modem along with the system files. Well I didn't and lost my imei, apn, signal and all... So while searching and again not obviously placed easy to find I read a thread and found one, flashed it, and it returned everything to normal without having to flash back to stock rom and blah blah blah... From what was listed, this for L 5.0 and up.
1. Boot phone into recovery, preferably TWRP
2. Flash the modem zip DOWNLOAD: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xz26z91hej9ryz3/LGD851.20B.MODEM-iNb4TMO.zip?dl=0
3. Reboot
I didn't make the radio, nor take any credit for its creation. I'm just trying to make it easier for T-Mobile D851 users on Lollipop to find incase they have deleted or lost theirs like I did...
I am not responsible for any issues or problems that may be encountered by using this.
I hope this help those in need like it helped me... Please let me know...

Well, I went camping over the weekend and of course the phone dropped service again. The cell signal was weak and the data was almost non-existent. Luckily I brought an old phone, re-activated it, and was good with LTE signal. My question is would flashing a different modem help? I have the LG-D851 with SW version D85130e so I assume that has the 30e modem. Is that correct and would the 30d modem be better? Thanks.

No idea. Could be something else (mechanical) causing the issue. 30e is the latest for our phones. You can also drop it down to 30d & see if it is any better.

That's what I was hoping to do but was trying to see if there was a way to just install the 30D modem instead of loading the entire phone with the older SW version and having to re-install all of my apps. I downloaded the modem file but after doing some research I couldn't figure out the procedure to install it. I saw a few videos about a TWRP recovery but I prefer not to root my phone. If I have to root it in order to get it working then I will...I just wish I could figure out what the issue is. I saw a few other people mention issues with the LTE setting defaulting back to WCDMA/GSM (which I experience) and they said the 30E modem could be the issue. The phone was just wiped clean a few months ago before I bought it from the previous owner.

The phone was just wiped clean a few months ago before I bought it from the previous owner.

yeah without having root, your options are limited. If you own the phone, I would say go for it, if you are leasing it, then take it back to where you got it & tell them it's reception sucks.
I own it and bought it second hand. According to the previous owner he didn't have any issues with it but who knows. I assume if I root it and load the 30D SW I will have to load everything from scratch? Is there an LG backup program for this phone? Thanks for the help.
Restore from SD card
From any home screen, tap Apps.
Tap Settings.
Scroll down to 'DEVICE,' then tap Backup & reset.
Tap LG Backup service > Backup & restore.
Tap Restore from backup.
Locate and tap the SD card backup.
Tap Next.
Review the warning information, then tap OK to confirm.

I have the TMo version (D851) & the first thing I did was root it & install a custom ROM to get rid of all the Tmo crap that is stuck onto it. ugh! I don't use my phone all that much for calls, mostly emails data & music playing, so losing the stock Wifi Calling function wasn't an issue for me. Currently on the OctOS Nougat weekly builds, tremendous ROM, great battery life fast & smooth & decluttered. Since you already own the phone & do not have a warranty, you've nothing to lose here. Do some reading in the threads on how to do it, you'll be very happy once you see how much better your phone can be. You put on it only what you want to put on, less junk, less memory hogging.
