Tasks app sync with Google Tasks - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
A short and simple question: should the 'Tasks' app that came preinstalled on the G4, should be able to sync with Google Tasks?
My account is on the list in the app, but the sync does not work and the app tells me that no account has been added.
Thanks for your help.

I would like to know this as well. This was possible ony my One X but on the G4, Task is not even syncing with my google account

There is a Facebook plug-in called fdCal. Install that to your profile. It will give you a url string that can be loaded into your Google calendar, and Google will pull your Facebookcalendar from this url. It also will stay updated. Since its in your Google calendar now all you have to do is sync your calendarto your Android phone. I apologize that my directions are a little vague but I did this quite some time ago. With the info gave you and some google searching you should be able to find a tutorial somewhere. Just remember fdCal is the key.
I used EboBirthday to sync my Facebook birthdays with my Google Calendar on my phone. It also syncs the birthdays with your contacts.

We believe it is very important that users are able to control their data. So in the over-the-air update for Nexus S, we have a small change to how Facebook contacts appear on the device. For Nexus S users who downloaded the Facebook app from Android Market, Facebook contacts will no longer appear to be integrated with the Android Contacts app. Since Facebook contacts cannot be exported from the device, the appearance of integration created a false sense of data portability. Facebook contact data will continue to appear within the Facebook app. Like all developers on Android, Facebook is free to use the Android contacts API to truly integrate contacts on the device, which would allow users to have more control over their data. We are removing the special-case handling of Facebook contacts on Nexus S and future lead devices. We continue to believe that reciprocity (the expectation that if information can be imported into a service it should be able to be exported) is an important step toward creating a world of true data liberation --and encourage other websites and app developers to allow users to export their contacts as well.

My bigger problem with the facebook app is that the menu button is not accessible in ICS. As a result, you can't change the defaults for how often the app refreshes (I like to disable auto refreshing).
I prefer using fb throught the Browser.... facebook app is the most battery draining app ever.

Evernote kind of app with reminders

Guys
I like evernote but they don't plan to support reminders
Does anybody know of an app that you can add tasks to with reminders but it also syncs to the cloud and accessible via browser? Maybe an app that syncs directly with google calendar?
Thanks

See if you can get in on the beta for this app:

It's basically a calendar app with Evernote integration. It might be what you're looking for,

[Q] S-Planner's Task does not syncs with the Google Account

My question is specifically for the synchronization of the Google Calendar's Task list (and not the Events) with the S-Planner's Task list. The Google Calendar's Events are synchronizing with the S-Planner's Calendar Events perfectly, but NOT with the case of TASKS.
Am I the only one? If yes, how should I fix it; if not, any work around for this?
Nope, you are not the only one, as Samsung tasks never sync with Google I still hope that they will include it in future versions, but I doubt it...

How can I Sync S Planner with Google Calendar?

I want to sync S Planner with Google Calendar but seems like it does not happen next Galaxy Note 8... Is there any way to sync, otherwise there is no fun adding new entries via S Planner..

Mine seems to sync ok, but I have the Google account at as default for calendar. Might be that entries for Samsung account do not get synced with Google(?).
Edit: New Answer
Maybe I didn't have Google Calender installed. I don't remember it syncing both ways on my Note and remember a message stating so when first launching it.
Thanks for bringing this up.
Good concise explanation. It's confusing and is one reason I don't use the s-planner app at all. What I need is to add an event on one device and have it appear on all of them, and they're not all Note devices.
kable said:
Yep, It says that when you first open it.
It imports from Google calender but does not export any information which sucks because otherwise it is such a nice program.

Just checked on mine to be 100% sure, and it is working.
On my Note 8 i entered an appointment using Google account, even added picture snote, and it synced momentarily (except for the note).
Maybe try installing native Google calendar from the Market, and check if your sync works?
Sent from my GT-N5100 using xda premium
It is working fine for me too. I also have an exchange account from work and sync all the calendars fine and I can create appointments from the Note 8 and see it 1 minute after on my GNexus calendar.

Mine works. Under settings in the S Planner make sure you have the calendar for your gmail account checked, not your samsung. What does not sync are tasks.

Mine still doesn't work. Initial calendar got populated but any new updates don't work either from s Planner to Google calendar or visaversa

This would mean that sync had access to network and partly works.
Really strange. Maybe try deleting the Google account and clearing Google Calendar Sync data (settings/apps/all) + restart and then set it again?

Go to settings -> accounts and click Google. See if sync is disabled.
Have an update:
Initially I did not have Google calendar installed on Note; only S Planner. In Google sync calendar was checked. In S Planner mycalendar was the @gmail.com calendar. But this was rsulting in updates not flowing between teh S Planner and calendar on Google
Then I wrote this post..
Yesterday night I also installed Google calendar app on Note, and voilla... S Planner and Google Calendar (both app and actual web Google calendar) are now in sync.
So, my conclusion is that for S Planner and Google Calendar you need; last 2 sound obvious....
1. Both S Planner and Google Calendar apps installed on Note;
2. Google calendar sync turned on
3. Google calendar chosen as the calendar on S Planner
Can you check Google calender from the web and see if Google has your appointments saved there as well?
I always seemed to loose my appointments if I wiped my phone.
Thanks.

Yes, they are in Google Web calendar.
I've been using Googel calendar app (on android, iOS and Windows) for a long time an that was not an issue.
issue was adding things from S Planner were not saving to Google, and now they do

Hi,
I had same problem with my Galaxy SIII. When I installed the Calendar app from google, S Planner started to sync via it.
I also saw that under options->accounts->Google: Calendar did not want to sync without the google app installed.
Good luck! :good:

Had the same problem on my Galaxy Note 10.1, and nothing worked including installing the Google Callendar.
At some point I've noticed that the first field on the event creation page on the S-Planner is the callendar (In other words: you choose which callendar to create the event on).
For obvious reasons, the default one is device callendar which doesn't sync to anything. But once you change it once, it stays that way .
Hope it helps .
Calendar
I live and die by my Google Calendar.
Here's your problem (I think):
You have to go through the SPlanner, Google Calendar or the app of your choice and 1st enable and disable under each account which calendars you want to keep synced. I disable everything except my Google Calendar. 2nd In the configuration somewhere you should find an option for setting the default calendar.
Only the Google calendars will sync to Google Calendars - I know it seems obvious, but this is why I disable all the others.

the solution to this is whats stated above.
Tested everything with my s3 and the only thing worked is installing (or in my case re-installing the google calendar app on my s3)
thank you for this fix. I installed google calendar app on all my devices and no more sync problems between s-planner and Digical Calendar app. I just hide the google calendar icon
Just so you know... I have more than one Google account. One is dedicated to google play store only. I noticed that in Splanner the default may point to the first account. Which may be setup with everything disabled. Since I have both Samsung and Google accounts for calenders, I set all calenders as my option. Now all accounts sync. So be careful about which calender you set your Splanner to, as it may give you problems as well.

Problem is that in S-Planner you can dismiss and it remains on the calendar.
In G Calendar you need to delete.
Also with G Calendar enabled you need to do this twice.
I don't understant on my Note 8 I don't need G Calendar it just syncs.
In Note 3 it doesn't work without G calendar a real PITA.
