[Q] Stocky Recovery Cache Fails to Mount - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

Nexus 7 (2013) WiFi (flo)
Came stock with 4.4.4
Tried following guide for flashing a custom setup, it failed, gave up, tried to restore default with Nexus Root Toolkit v2.0.5.
Toolkit says it completes properly flashing bootloader, boot, cache, recovery, system.
Enter into recovery mode, wipe userdata, but cache cannot be mounted, fails repeatedly.
Device is stuck in boot loop between recovery and "Google" logo.
Tried:
fastboot format cache
fastboot erase cache
fastboot -w update <stock zip from google developer's page directly>
Photo attached.
any suggestions?

[Q] "Android" Logo Bootloop

Yesterday I wanted to flash the new CWM (5.8.4.0) but I accidentally flash using fastboot boot boot.img
Then it kept rebooting into recovery
After panicking a few times, I used Hasoon2000's allinonekit to flash stock recovery, stock kernel, relocked and reunlocked bootloader, factory reset through hboot.
Now im in a bootloop but instead of the usual htc with beats that i usually get, a simple logo featuring the word "android" is all that showed up on my screen. Sometime when I restart it would show a harddisk or something like that with a green refresh logo. In cwm my phone can't detect my sd so I can't flash my nandroid backup.
Can someone help this noob
Boot into fastboot.
First turn on the phone.
Hold both Power and Volume Down until the screen turns black, after two seconds release the power button only, it should boot you into fastboot, you can also try just holding both buttons, not sure about that so if it won't boot into fastboot try both ways!
When it boots into fastboot, open up command prompt and execute the command fastboot erase cache, this should make you able to boot into recovery again.
Good luck!
I can access recovery now. The problem now is the android bootloops

Do you have any ROMS on your SDCard?
If you do, follow these steps please!
First of all, find the boot.img of the ROM you have on your SDCard, do this by downloading the ROM to your computer again and extracting the boot.img or using franco's or whatever other one there is.
Put the boot.img into the directory where your fastboot.exe is located, boot back into Fastboot and execute the following commands, fastboot flash boot boot.img and then fastboot erase cache.
Boot into recovery from fastboot, Wipe Data -> Wipe Cache, browse for the ROM and flash it, this should fix your phone!
I was running ARHD 6.1.1 before. but like I said in CWM it cant detect my sd,
it says there is no such file. any ideas?

Yes, flash this CWM.
http://lh.rs/Zs6RYrc8m7Os
Put phone into Fastboot and run following commands.
fastboot flash recovery r1--recovery-clockwork-touch-endeavoru.img
fastboot erase cache
Boot into recovery see if it recognizes the SD.
flashed that recovery, cleared the cache
when I went into recovery i chose zip from sdcard but then no files found
in Hboot it said SD checking...
failed to open usb master mode
failed to open usb master mode
only then would it show the options:
fastboot
recovery
factory reset
simlock
showbarcode
image crc

what is your recovery version? 5.8.4.0?
If you flash the latest recovery 5.8.4.0, then you should be able to view your SD Card and also infact,
if you go to ADVANCED Mode in the latest Recovery, connect the USB, it will detect your PC. Transfer the required files.
You have recovery now, try mounting the SD Card. Make sure you have enough charge ( >50%)
Please do not panic!
I will try that. Although i don't know how much battery I have left cause it suddenly turns on and bootloops after I charge for a particular amount of time
did you fix your phone now? if you fix pls mail [email protected] me cos we have same problem im using HOX stock " android logo "
even i put file on cwm 5.8.4.0 SD failed open master mode

[Q] Device stuck at Google logo, even after installing factory images

Hello guys,
So today I was doing what I usually o with my Galaxy Nexus. Tested the last daily image of Ubuntu Touch, flashed factory images, then CM 10.1 and AK kernel, and started to use the phone.
A few hours later I had to get a file from my phone, connected it to my Ubuntu 13.04 machine and got the files. While I was there, I uploaded a zip to my phone too, but the screen went black and it did not woke up, so I performed a battery pull.
After that, the phone got stuck at Google logo. Sometimes it shows the ROM's boot animation, sometimes it just stays at Google logo. I thought I could have corrupted the file system, so I installed the 4.2.2 factory images again, but I'm still stuck.
Anyone know what could be happening and know how to fix this, please? Thank you in advance
did you flash the entire factory image or just system.img?

The entire image, using the flash-all.sh script.
try not using the flash all script and erase all the partitions before you flash them all
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
*note: this will delete all data on the phone
then fastboot flash each individual img file.

R: [Q] Device stuck at Google logo, even after installing factory images
It 'happened to me (not with Ubuntu OS) ... I just flash the stock ROM partition at a time with fastboot (un zip the stock and flash boot, system, data, recovery etc...), erase cache , reboot and thanks the sky

I think the device is gone. I erased the partitions, flashed all the files back and when the "X" boot animation appeared, the screen flickered and the animation froze. Then the phone rebooted and right now, it's still stuck at Google logo. So sometimes it boot to boot animation, sometimes it won't...
Is it really gone?
I guess I will try two more things: flash Ubuntu Touch to see if that works or flash Android 4.1.2. Otherwhise, bye bye Nexus...
Did you resolve the problem?

I would like to know if you were able to resolve this issue. I am facing a similar problem and so far I have not been successful. For me, the device doesn't power on unless connected to a power source (in my case I'm using a USB cable) even though the battery is full. So far I have tried reinstalling the Android 4.4.2 factory image but to no avail. The device gets stuck on the 'Google' screen. This is so annoying.

Galaxy Nexus Bricked - erase data/userdata wipe or write failed

sorry guys, I don't speak much English
I did a factory reset by menu Android. The GNEXUS has restarted and remained on "deletion".
I've tried Nexus toolkit with Rom stock, Odin with stock rom, from command in fastboot mode, but everytime the process stops.
ODIN fails during the "UserData" process. Even with the toolkit hangs around during the operation "erase userdata".
With ODIN I was able to flash a version 4.2.2 no wipe (no delete userdata) but once restarted remains on Google screen.
At this time I can go to fastboot mode or Download mode (No Recovery mode!!!)
I cannot enable the debug mode...
I must bring in assistance or I can try other methods to flash?
please help me, TKS

Help stuck in twrp boot loop

I accidentily hit the factory reset option in cm12.1 and now im in a boot loop. how can i exit it? PLS HELP What I see on the phone is the teamwin logo then the screen goes black and then the teamwin logo appears again. Windows show Android USB Device "My HTC" but I can't do anything in adb
You need CM recovery to use the factory reset option in a cm rom.
Twrp is boot looping as it's continually attempting to run the wipe command stored in cache.
You need to wipe the cache.
Reboot to the boot loader. In Fastboot mode use FASTBOOT ERASE CACHE.
A little late.

erased userdata for decryption, now: only fastboot & TWRP work

Hi,
following situation: i need to go back to stock as I am selling the phone.
My phone was encrypted somehow...
I have installed TWRP
I did flash latest Oxygen 4.1.5 Full Rom succesfully.
Then, I started decryption by using fastboot command "fastboot erase userdata" which was successfull. The decryption was away. But: Phone does not boot anymore into Android. I can only go to Fastboot and TWRP.
In TWRP I cannot mount "data" partition ( not possible to even check it as mount-option) and cannot do a factory reset (I see many red error messages then). If I boot phone normally, it shows Oneplus logo and then reboot into recovery. I assume my data partition was deleted?! I
I tried ADB sideload and sideloaded the full rom again, which ended successfully, but I still cannot boot into Android, same happens: it restarts into recovery automatically
Any idea what I should do now?
Many thanks for any help from you guys!
Try fastboot format system and userdata and then try to sideload again.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
i trief format data before posting here but ended in errors too
