Hello,
I recently purchased a D851 that was having a bootloop. I corrected it by using the KDZ method and all is good now except audio and video. First, I have never heard the speaker make a sound, so the speaker could be messed up right off the bat. Second, I can't play any music file, when I try to play an .mp3 for example, it says unsupported music type/file. I also can not play any videos either in the browser or youtube. Youtube just says "an error occured, please try again later".
Since I thought that the speaker might of been bad, I hooked up my bluetooth headset to it and I can't get any sounds to play on the bluetooth either, even changing the volume beeps.
Any idea on what is causing this? I can provide more detail if needed.
Thank you for your help.

Well I've got the Omnia 7 and love it, although I do have an issue with it regarding the use of bluetooth headphones.
Anybody else experienced issues with the handset not sending the sound to the headset when switching from movies to music and back again.
I can get the phone to pair with my headphones almost instantly (A big improvement from my blackstone) and if I listen to music straight away the music streams perfectly. If I then goto watch a movie, I get zero sound. I go back to the music and press play ... nothing again. Even with bluetooth off.
I have to restart the phone in order to properly re-establish the connection to hear sounds over the headset.
It appears to me that due to the fact that you can't properly exit out of zune, whatever your doing gets paused and "keeps" the link for itself.
SO my question is - Has anyone else come across this and how do you properly exit from zune?
I have the same thing on my HTC 7 Trophy. Music plays just fine on the headset, but video is always played over the handsets speaker. Switching back to music seems to work fine for me though.
Anyone know why this is? Is this a shortcoming of the first release of these phones or is there a setting we forgot to tweak?
also, if you headset/headphones have a play/pause button, the music can play at the same time as the video, kinda weird sometimes

Thats a little different from what is happening to me. As I stated in my thread I have no sound through bluetooth for video files at all. After trying to watch a video I can go back to music and it will play through my bluetooth headphones just fine. Video sound comes out of the main speakers always.
Hi!, I had a serious nerve racking problem with Samsung Galaxy W since I flashed it with another official stock ROM in which I got much more languages including the french one. But the problem is that when the earphone is plugged in to listen to my music, it starts switching the soundtrack I am playing to another one that I wasn't playing, it even stops playing :'( . And it's the same **** everytime I want to play my music from the default music player or the one installed like Poweramp. So please help me to fix this!. Even when I wanna listen to my FM radio it shuts down by itself and I could hear some weird beeps from my earphone. The Autostarts apps won't solve at all my problem! :'(
[Q] My phone plays and stops music by itself when the earphone is plugged in, but once removed from it everything works fine! :'(

I am not sure about the default music player, but poweramp has a feature like the one you described. When you plug in the headphone, it resumes playing. (An autostart musicplayer feature). Check the settings under poweramp player and hopefully you will see that option somewhere. I am not using poweramp so I can't tell you where exactly that option would be.
The other issues you desribe, I don't know. It may have something to do with the conflict between poweramp and FM radio... Maybe. I am not sure. See what happens when you disable the option I described above.
The stock rom don't have a FM radio app, so use Spirit FM, search the apk and download it.
And this problem happens with me too, but only sometimes. When I'm using a Bluetooth headset, no problems, but when I use a normal earphone, some lags occur.

Okay thanks for your help but now the problem is solved after disabling the "media button pressed" event's from the pre installed music player and many other apps running on your Android's system. It requires root access to be allowed "Autostarts.apk". Anybody else having the issue could use this app to fix it!
The problem:
My M8 is having difficulty playing music with sound. When I try to play music on the phone, the song will play. However, there will be no sound coming out from the speakers.
What I tried already:
I tried using a different music player. I downloaded Shuttle+ and tried to play, but I keep getting the same issue. Sometimes, when I reboot the phone, the stock music app works properly, but after the currently playing song is done, it would again play but not produce sound. If I go to the Shuttle app and play a song while the song plays with no sound on the stock music app, the Shuttle app works fine. But then after the song is done on Shuttle, I have to switch to the stock music app for sound to come out properly.
I remember how Google limited SD card functionality (my music was on my sd card). So I transferred the songs onto the phone storage, but I still have the issue. Then I figured that the issue might be my mp3 files. I deleted them all to try to isolate the problem. I tried playing song from the Google Play Music app and it appears to be working fine. This morning, the google play music also exhibiting the same problem. So even Spotify is having the problem. The music will load and the slider will move to indicate the song is playing, but again no sound. I tried deleting the data of all the music apps I have and they still do not work properly.
I have xposed modules installed so I disabled all of them and restarted the phone, but the problem persists.
Also, the boomsound speakers are functioning properly. Youtube videos and regular video files play with sound. I only appear to be having problems with music.
Phone modification:
This is probably really important to figuring out what the issue is. My phone is rooted and S-off. I have xposed installed with the following modules: forced immersive mode, greenify, keepchat, nfciconremover, snapshare, unicon, youtube adaway.
Other than that, the phone is stock.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
Solution
I performed a factory reset and started all over to isolate what modification caused this music bug.
Turns out, it was flashing the Tethering mod located here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708548
If you are currently experiencing this problem, go back to pure stock OR simply flash this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2731893
Now, if you still want tethering, install this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715671.
I can confirm that installing that will give you tethering and not break music functionality!

I no longer have the M8, but I had the exact same issue. I also thought that it had something to do with storing my music to the SD Card via Google Play Music.
I would back up, flash a Rom and see if that fixes it. I'm guessing it will work fine and it's just something happened from xposed.

So I've been using Pocket Casts as a podcast player for a while now, and I've never had any issues until switching to the LG G3 (T-Mobile variant).
When I try to play any podcast with .m4a, the podcast will play normally, but the moment I try to use any seeking commands (forward, rewind, pause) the seeker will jump around.
For example, if I pause at 14:53, and then try to restart again, it could randomly jump to 1:10. The same thing happens when I try to forward or rewind.
Curiously, I've noticed that with rewinding and forwarding, they seem to prefer certain time spots. Like if I spam the rewind button, it will constantly go to a certain time period.
If you want to test this yourself, you can try downloading "The Rooster Teeth Podcast" or "The Patch Podcast" on any podcast player, as I know those two use the .m4a format.
To make sure it wasn't the player, I tried downloading podcast addict, which gave the same issue. I also downloaded an earlier episode of the Rooster Teeth Podcast which was an mp3 file, and it played with no issues.
Has anybody else encountered this issue, and does anybody have a fix?
I'd like to bump this seeing as I'm not the only one with this issue. I too tried using other podcast players to play the RT Podcast/Patch, all of them would skip ahead several minutes. They would also refuse to seek past the 45 minute mark or something around there.

Got the same problem with podcast addict. The developer wrote me, that the app is using the internal player. After testing the internal player with m4a files, i can confirm that the issue persist.
I also wrote the LG support about this issue and the answer was: LG does not official support m4a! WTF?
Alternative 1: Use 3. party player. But I didn't find a good one. Only VLC was playing the file but stops audio files if the screen is off.
Alternative 2: Use mp3 feed instead of m4a.

I recently started using CM and issued a problem, in witch sound from Youtube is really messed up and all sounds are quieter ( but that's probably caused by xLoud from sony is not in CM), I tried to turn off AudioFX but nothing happened. It is happening in cm-12.1-20151226-NIGHTLY-nicki too. and i think it might be Open Gapps problem but i opened YT in browser and sound was messed up and video too until i switched fullscreen, then only sound is bad. I could try to make a logcat but i need to see on the internet how to do it first. Please help it's really annoying.
also everything is fine with earphones
I discovered that i can't play this video watch?v=5ADpSMtEQxY witch was the first one i discovered that the sound is messed up. It says connection to server lost.
