Stock kernel stock rom - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Looking for the latest stock kernel and stock rom for ATT sgh-1747.
I look around and see alot of talking about stock rom but have not seen a link.

ATT never released a full ROM after 4.1.1. If you want to flash a stock ROM beyond 4.1.1, you will need to look in the general thread for instructions and links to the ROM.
Be sure to verify the bootloader on your phone before flashing any bootloaders and modems.

Please use the search function within the Device Forum to find what you need.
There are plenty of rooted stock roms but again as the previous reply said you need to pay attention to your bootloader.
Do some research it is all available here.

[Q] SGH T999 and Roms.

I had recently obtained a s3 its a T-mobile, its running 4.1.2, with the T999UVDMD5 baseband. I rooted it, flashed xposed(haha the only thing XD). Well, reading about/friends have said there was trouble with the 4.3 update so I decided to stay on 4.1.2.
However, now I've decided to flash a custom rom, and I have noticed the different labels(D2lte, D2tmo, D2usa) and I had read from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1736477 "As of right now, the roms for your S3 are not meant to be used on other S3 variants" .
I have a few questions:
1.There was a baseband update, should I update it? If so, how exactly?
2.Would it be wise to flash a D2lte on This T-mobile device? I was looking at Resurrectionhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2692481(originally waiting on cm11 but.. Yeah lol)
3.Looking at KitKat rooms, which ones could I flash?
4.Would it be safe, if I did flash a 4.4.2 to restore a nandroid backup of my fresh rooted stock 4.1.2.
5.Lastly, what kernel would you say use?(Sorry to ask, curiosity as to which i could flash)
I appreciate taking your time to answer my questions and have a good day!
1) custom recovery.. There are zips available to flash
2) d2lte covers all d2 devices so its safe
3)Any on the development threads
4) Yes
5) like on 3, you can flash any kernel in the development threads, experiment and see which one works the best for you!

To answer your questions:
1. You do not need to update your firmware - I'm still on MD5. Modems, however, can be flashed separately from firmware.
2. You can flash d2lte ROMs on this phone as it's all one unified build for US SGS3 variants. (I.e. T-Mobile/AT&T/Sprint/Verizon SGS3 is now all built under d2lte).
3. As far as which KK ROM to flash...just try them all out and see which ones you like the best. Each ROM has different features - see which one is right for you.
4. If you don't update your firmware, then yes. (FYI, flashing a custom KK ROM does not update your firmware. However, if you flash one of the 4.3 root66 files that has firmware included, then it will update your firmware).
5. Again, try it out. It's hard to say which ROM/kernel combination will work best. I suggest you read the forums to see what people think of them.
Hope that helps.

No problem, and i forgot to say but the only time you might need to update modem is if you flash a 4.3 touchwiz ROM, other than that its not really needed unless you want to experiment and see if one gives you better results

Oh, and one more thing: DO NOT flash a ROM that is for the international version of the SGS3 (i9300). It will, most definitely, brick your phone.
Don't know if you knew that or not...just wanted to make sure.

latest stock rom link anyone?

I haven't used my S3 in ages, but the current rom on it is cyanogenmod.
a relative needs a phone to get up and running on sprint so i am going to give them my old S3. I've looked around the forum but can't seem to find a link to the latest stock sprint rom. can anyone help?

New here Looking for guidance on rooting and stable roms
Rooting?
CF-Auto Root. Sprints NIE works on KK NK2 and LP OB7.
TWRP2 for recovery. Search TRLTE and choose Sprint version.
Stable ROMs. Check android dev section. As stable as any of them can get, its all up to the users on how they use their device.

Absolutely yes. If you flash a stock touchwiz rom then all original apps & features work just like original out of the box. If you flash a custom Cyanogen mod rom or other AOSP rom, then expect issues as these type of roms do not include all of the original samsung features, apps, etc. I'm assuming you want to remain on the stock Sprint Samsung rom so visit this thread and flash one of those stock roms first. But before you begin, you will need to read up on how to root your phone and flash the TWRP recovery. You must flash a custom recovery before you can flash a stock or custom rom. Just look around in the development forums and you will find all the information you need.
tx_dbs_tx, I'm in the same boat w/ 4.4 currently installed.
From what little I've read I'm thinking 5.0 might be a wait (reports of memory leak & battery issues) in hopes that 5.1 will be a better option as I don't have time to fight with those kind of issues right now.
My plan was to root 4.4 and stay there for the next few(?) months.
Am I misinformed?
Thanks!
Its been a fewyrs since i last rooted a device ( Evo4gLTE) and Im having issues trying to root my Note 4. Installed Lollipop only because I found multiple sources saying it can be rooted with lollipop, but everytime i try to use autoroot , which i got from this forum, Odin regognizes but wont flash when i hit start. URGENT : Model SGH-1741M no rom works

HI
I look for an official roms but if you have suggestions of functional roms for my telephone I take is urgent !!
ty
i the official roms here just the bell roms pré root is no here ....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2543854
Hi!
You can find all the official Samsung stock ROMs on SamMobile, under the "Firmwares" section: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
Note that those are the official firmwares, as delivered by your carrier. They are Odin-flashable -- you cannot use a custom recovery like CWM, TWRP of PhilZ to flash them -- and, as they are official, are not pre-rooted. If you choose to go this way, make sure you install a ROM at least the version you currently have on your phone; downgrading your bootloader may brick your device.
ty for your help I decided to install a official firmwares and root manually my device
i have a question
what is the best recovery mod for my model and what are the tweak for android exemple service useless
sorry for my english
ty for your help ^^
Hi!
For the recovery, take a look at the SGSIII Android Development forum to find download links and information about what feature they offer. The most popular recoveries for our phone model are TWRP, CWM and PhilZ Recovery. They all do a great job -- they differ on their method your taking backup, on their look-and-feel, on some more advanced features... For basic stuff, all of them do work. Make sure to read about them -- and yes, you can try one, and later switch to another one if you want to test them. (Keep in mind that backups may not be compatible between all of the recoveries, though.) Make sure you install the newest version of the recovery of your choice, as you may run into errors when flashing ROMs on a too-old recovery.
For the tweaks, I don't have any particular link to suggest to you. Do some research, especially on threads about reducing battery consumption -- they usually have some tips on services that can be deactivated.
If you are interested in going the custom ROMs way, custom ROMs often some already debloated. Packed with tons of features, but freed of carrier stuffs. Don't hesitate to look at the various custom ROMs available in the SGSIII Android Development forum, as well as the SGSIII Original Android Development forum.
For an i747m, I prefer Philz for the d2lte: https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/d2lte/

OE2 to custom rom?

As it is right now, I don't see any custom roms or deodex stock roms that match OE2. I'm already rooted, so it seems like I can't update to any of the 5.1 roms, so I'm trying to find one that's based on OE2, or something closely compatible that I can flash over OE2 without issues.
At the very least, I'd like to find a way to properly deodex my current rom so I can use certain mods and themes and try to get Xposed working on my device.
Why are you posting this in the Dev section? Learn how to properly use the forums first, then you can think about posting something.
You can easily use Odin to get to any firmware.
Download the OF7 stock tar (links all over the place, search a little), flash with Odin, OTA to OH1, then you can use any of our wide selection of 2 ROMs.
Lol and Edge 925P roms. Just make sure to flash Unikernel after.
