Hey there!
On wednesday i purchased an fire phone.
Now i tried to get PlayStore to work. Installed it with The newest apk's and now here is the problem: i can log in and it sucesses, but i dont see any apps or categories in the Appstore. In the left side menue i see i am logged in.
Tried deleting cache, data and reinstalling.
Has anyone a fix for that problem?
Can you list the "newest" APKs (other than Play Store)?
Google Account Manager, Google Services Framework, Google Play services?
I did a number of test runs with different scenarios for other people. Never had any problems with the Play Store itself, even on a s#itty, unrooted stock FireOS.
Account-manager 4.4.2. 940549
Store 5.4.12
Play-services 7.3.29(1866531-036)
Framework 4.4.2-940549
Got them from the thread in the general forum
These are not the latest versions, you should use Play Store 5.6.8 & Play services 7.5.74 (1997312-036).
Let the Play Store and Play services auto update themselves, restart (make sure they are updated by checking the version number in the "manage applications" menu) and try again.
I recommend using sites like APKmirror, since the info in threads / posts can be outdated rather quick.
Tried that, did not change anything. Log in works, but still no content showing up

Does it look something like this ? (Play store is actually running) If so, I've got exactly the same problem

I had this but a cache clear etc worked. I noticed the play store got updated very recently on my nexus. Might this update have screwed things up for fire phone?
Same as your image. If i swype from left to right, I can see I am logged in.
Tried cache clean and erasing data several times, nothing changes.
Ok, let's recollect. The easy stuff:
Force quit the google apps before 'clear cache' and 'clear data'?
Are you using two factor auth. / 2 step verification?
Turn 2FA off or generate an application specific password and try again.
Any other google apps installed before you tried the "Play Store Pack"?
TheMightyFid, you're using the 461013320 UK version of FireOS? sg94 which version are you using? Netlocked devices?
The majority of people had problems on the xxxxxx320 versions, the 461013820 version (US unlocked GSM) worked well.
I tried stock 461013320 today, with the same 4 files that worked flawlessly 2 days before on the 461013820. Same problem as you guys: Blank screen, even FC on google account manager.
If you guys don't have any additional information for us about changes to the OS (e. g. apps with significant influence on system behavior) then I would suggest trying the 461013820 version.
All images are multi language (regarding the UI & keyboard), so you could use the US version for an EU user / phone. You might run into problems using certain WiFi channels (e. g. CH 13) because of the WiFi country codes.

Yes, it is the 4.6.1 UK edition, no luck past GSF 7.0.99

I have the problem in the title. Of course, all the pre-loaded Google apps do not show in the Markeet downloads and they don't auto-update or show update notifications. I managed to install Youtube, Gmail and a few others by visiting the Market and installing them over the original pre-loaded app (I guess). Now I can find them in Markiet downloads.
The problem I have now is with Google Maps. It's not in the Market downloads, since I never downloaded it from there. But I can't even find it when I search the Market, I can't access any links or barcodes (the result will be "The requested item could not be found"), there seems to be no way for my phone to access a link for downloading Google Maps.
I have the original ROM, no root, and in the Google Maps About section I see "Version: 4.5.1 (#4665) gmm-android-htc". Is it an HTC version of Goole Maps?
What can I do? Do I need an .apk file? Why would this app be forbidden from showing up in Market for my phone? Maybe it's my phone region, but I doesn't make sense.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
These are market glitches and iv had times even on rooted phones with the market not showing certain apps that DO exist. What i did was reinstall the Google bundle apps but since your not rooted i am not quite sure what you can do but wait? or maybe a cache clean or a factory reset if all else fails
... or go settings, apps, running, find market, force stop, clear data. God knows if it'l help at all but always worth a shot.

Bingo! Not available in Romania yet I used temproot and MarketEnabler to get it.
Install the one from http://www.mediafire.com/?54mn0zw747vc1sh - I just got it from my phone.
@ddotpatel,aznsnake666 - Tried clear data, clear cache, etc. but it didn't work.
@keinengel - So I guess you have the same problem. Downloaded the file, it works! But I wonder why Google Maps isn't available for Romania?!?!? Thanks!

Yup, same problem. I think we need to gang up on Vodafone and get them to sign an agreement with Google for paid apps - maybe that'll fix it.
Google Maps was pre-installed in my ROM, so looking in the Market I could still see it though it wasn't showing as "Installed".
I simply clicked on "Install" and the new version overwrote the one in my ROM, and it works fine now.
I still don't get it... why is Google Maps availability depentent on region/carrier? It is a free app anyway. And since I paid for my phone which includes Google Maps, I think I should have access to updates too regardless of what country I'm in.
Hi, I just got myself an HTC One M8 today. Bought it here in Beijing, China, at a China Unicom store. Turns out they call it M8w, but it should, as far as I know, be very similar to the official Asian version (it has a 2.5 GHz CPU and both FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE). Google Play Store was not installed, so I'm trying to get it installed.
I tried installing Google Play Store using the "Google installer" app by Eric Xiang, mostly used for Xiaomi phones, but basically it's an app to download APK files manually and install them.
So far I've gotten Gmail and Google Translate to work without problems after installing it from the Google installer, but Google Play Store fails to start with a message saying "No connection" and a "Retry" button. This is probably because Google Services Framework (a dependency of Play Store) crashes after installation.
Any suggestions on what I should do? Do I need to root and put in a non-Chinese ROM?
Thanks in advance!
For the M8t, there is a easier way for Google Play service (gmail, map... etc),
Just search "GMS安装器" from HTC App store or Baidu App store. Then you are good to go.
For anybody that's interested, I didn't manage to get all Google apps running properly, so several months ago I flashed in this system dump instead. (I unlocked the bootloader and flashed it in using a utility I don't remember the name of, but I will look it up and update this post if I remember it.)
Haven't noticed any issues so far except for that I don't seem to be able to update anything OTA. But I guess that might be normal?

Thanks for this. One step can be simplified by using ES File Explorer instead of Silk to actually download the 4 apk's - then they are in ES File Explorer in proper form already. Then just install them in the order shown, and Bob's your uncle.
I am using 3.6.6 and i cannot get it working. It allways tells me, "google play service closed" and i am not able to log into google playstore.
same happened to me so I just restarted and worked fine.
you do have to install in the correct order as in the video
I did that several times in exact that order but it is still not working. google play service is closed on reboot of the phone...
i also tried to install step by step and reboot after each apk, same problem.
Fire OS 3.6.6, locked to t-mobile, no root
if i install them in a row and open play store it says Gooogle-Service-Framework closed while trying to register my phone / log into my google account
this message is displayed 2 times, then i can put my account data an try to login, then "Process com.google.process.gapps was closed" 2 times
and then google playstore shows "no connection - try again" and this is where is gets stuck
reboot the phone: "Google Play-Service was closed"

Interesting, this was the same issue I have several weeks before - this was one reason I make my guide 'look and feel like...' Only with root
Must be an issue with the older firmwares...
The versions of Play services and Play store listed here are much newer than the ones (that I loaded successfully,) that are referenced on the original posts on this subject. You might want to try using the older versions and let them update.
Coming from 3.6.6 I could not get it run. After downgrading to 3.5 it didn't work as well. However, moving alls GApps to system apps, it finally worked!
From that experience, I am pretty sure that GApps without root may probably work on 3.6.8 phones, but not on the netlock 3.6.6 phones.

I would really like to do this, but 3.6.8 is not available for download. It is the firmware delivered with unlocked phones in the US only
Worked for two unlocked on 3.6.8. Thanks OP!
Apps from the play store seem to be working fine, but we'll see if I run into any issues. Seems too easy..
Well, you've done it. With this technique, the unlocked (that's the only one I tested this on and can verify it works flawlessly) Amazon fire phone is now the best deal in smartphones. Being able to run Google play services completely overcomes all the complaints everybody had with the fire phone, and at $230 with a 13 MP camera it's a fantastic deal, especially now that you can go download a better HD camera app from the play store. I would recommend doing this while you can, because no way in hell are Amazon / Google executives going to let this slide for too long.
Btw, follow the instructions exactly, then restart the phone for everything to work.
My phone got the 3.6.6 firmware. After I install the Google Apps, it will not connect to the store.
I do all the things in the first post, but it will not connect. Any solution for my problem?
Hi. Same problem here. We need 3.5.0 or 3.6.8 to install the Play Store correctly. Does anyone know a release date of an update?!
Thanks for the guide. I was able to successfully install the play store on an unlocked 3.6.8 fire phone and now I can download apps off it. Unfortunately, I can't find a launcher that will change the black background into something else. Do you know of one that does?

Vire Launcher sorta works
I was able to use this method to install the Play Store on my Fire phone running OS 3.6.8. I installed Google Now launcher, but have noticed that the battery drains much more quickly whenever I have other launchers installed. For one thing, even if you switch to another launcher, the Quick Switch menu (double-press on the home key) brings up the Fire Home Launcher as part of switching between apps and it seems like you have 2 launchers running at once which may explain the drain in part. Has anyone else noticed this?
You can use your own photos as wallpapers in Buzz Launcher, but no widgets. Only one I've found to date.

Is there a way to install the Google Play Store on a Chinese Note 7? Or some way to download the apps i've purchased from Google Play Store? I've tried going to the the Play Store site but my phone's not recognized since i can't add my Google account to the phone...
I read on a Chinese forum that people suggested loading the stock Hong Kong firmware for the Note 7 to get Google Play working and that it'd work fine on the Chinese model (and wouldn't break knox). Is this safe to do?
(and for reference, this is the page i was referring to: http://bbs.ngacn.cc/read.php?tid=9875562&pid=193800403&to=1)
I'm just speaking from experience on my China model of s6edge, flashing the HK firmware on that phone was definitely ok, I had no problems with the phone since going on the HK firmware. I haven't looked too deeply into the note 7 but you'll have to make sure the hardware is exactly the same, as well as the partition table of the two versions or you'll get an Odin fail.

Nope, there's no Google anything by default on the Chinese market phones, some sort of falling out between Google and China. You'll need to flash the Google framework yourself.

Yeah Chinese Android phones don't have Google Apps or anything on them because the Chinese government won't let them.

It used to be that all Google apps won't work in China, even gmail. But I think they loosened up the policy recently.
Thanks for the info, i'll try flashing it on there this evening. And a couple years back Google services were hit or miss, lately everything is blocked. Sites like this also have trouble loading because they use files hosted at googleapis.com (such as jquery), which are also blocked and a lot more annoying. So i've gotta use a VPN to view the site properly. It's not illegal, just inconvenient. My previous phone was a Chinese Vivo phone and i could install a package from the Vivo app store that installed the Google stuff for me (and use a VPN to access the Google Play Store). The Galaxy App Store is basically empty and doesn't have anything like that. I've tried installing the Google apps individually but it's still not working.
The Chinese and Hong Kong models are both "SM-N9300", i'm pretty sure the hardware is the same (and i know they also use the Snapdragon processor), is there any way i can check these things for sure?

Trial and error? The only thing I did was read up on the chinese forums for other people's success or failure stories. Once I saw numerous reports that they were successful, I felt more confident to do the same on my phone. Having an understanding of Odin and emergency restore also helps.
I just tried and my 电信 card doesn't work anymore. It's got Google Play though. Now i'm not sure which is better (assuming i can get the card to work), having the phone loaded with Google's stuff which doesn't work without a VPN or not having any of my purchased apps or easily download/update them but being able to actually use the phone... I might just switch back and wait for another method to pop up to enable Google Play on Chinese phones.

Neither work, i can't make phone calls or use data. I've got another card with a different company (China Unicom or China Mobile, i can never remember which) but it's too large to fit in the simcard slot, i'll see about getting it cut tomorrow and testing that.
Alternatively, i stumbled across this thread:

I might just try using that to root it and then installing something like Open GApps.

Sorry, i don't understand what you're asking. Why would i want what? I just want to be able to access the apps i've purchased through the Play Store on my old phones with my new phone. The apps aren't even available to purchase in the app stores in China and Chinese app stores generally only keep Chinese apps (like QQ, WeChat, Taobao, Alipay, etc.) up to date. I could just find a free way to get them (easy enough in China), but it makes updating more of a pain.
Anyway, gonna revert it back tonight to the original firmware and try installing TWRP with Open GApps.
EDIT: i've flashed it tons of times now and just finished flashing the Chinese firmware back on (again). I tried installing Open GApps but it just crashed the phone. I rooted the phone but it refused to install any APKs for some reason, not sure what exactly i've done to cause that. I just reflashed it again and am going through setup now, hopefully it'll be fixed. I'm not sure if it's got something to do with TWRP complaining about being unable to mount /data. It's too late to check into that tonight though.
EDIT2: Everything's working fine now on the stock firmware again, gonna try rooting it again tomorrow and see if i can manually install the Google Play Store.

I'm having the same issue. I've tried manually downloading the play store, services framework, play services and google login apks. Tried installing manually through sideloading. Tried copying to /system/app. In all cases both the play services and google services frameworks crash constantly. The play store itself is a white screen, with VPN enabled (from China).
If this method isn't going to work, where can I find an HK firmware version?

Just to add, I have rooted with SU.
If you have a working Google Play (outside china), a VPN while within China should allow you to update the apps. Please note, Oculus Store is also not accessible.

Yes, however I cannot install any of the google apps on this device. All attempts, including using google installer apks, manual installs, flashing Gapps, ,etc, all result in crashing apps. It almost seems aggressive.
My latest attempt to flash Gapps results in "Unfortunately the setup wizard has stopped" endlessly, essentially bricking the phone. I cannot get to any screens unless using the multitasking icon, and even then homescreen etc are inaccessible.
Try installing the APKPure app. Its pretty much just like the playstore (For free apps). And lets you update etc. And it doesnt require root.

That's the same issue i had with Gapps. I could press the menu button to bring up a list of open apps and use those, but going to the main homescreen just repeatedly prompted me with the setup wizard stopping dialog.
Google apps works with the Hong Kong version (comes preinstalled) so you should be fine with that. I think i flashed N9300ZHU1APGI, but i think that's the oldest version. The newest seems to be N9300ZHU2BPI5. If it has ZHU in the middle, that's for Hong Kong. ZCU is for China (TGY is the region code for Hong Kong, if you see that). The issue i had with that is that then everything is Google Apps and thus blocked in China, maps in WeChat use Google Maps instead of Baidu Maps for example. If you don't care about that, then i suggest trying to flash a Hong Kong firmware. It worked for me.
EDIT: I also forgot to mention that at first i couldn't use my SIM card, but later i'm not sure what i did, i think i booted into Recovery mode or something, but after that it worked. I'm not sure what it did.

Finally found the solution on the Mi Forums.
Goto Settings -> Apps -> Permissions -> Autostart. Enable both options for 'Google Services Framework' i.e. 'Allow apps to start automatically' + 'Allow the app to be started by other apps.
Restart phone.
After that I could sign in.
Maybe the Autostart setting is necessary for contacts and calendar as well.
Thank you! You saved me a lot of trouble, I was about to install new ROM on my phone just because of this problem.
I am replying to this in the event that someone else has had the same problems. I have a cc9 pro China rom. I downloaded the miui 12 update yesterday and Google stopped working. After several hours of trying all the fixes mentioned here and elsewhere this si what worked for me.
Delete everything Google.
Redownload the Google.apk from get apps.
Go through the cycle but parser error will come up.
Go to downloads and click install for first item.
Back to Google apk press button again for second item. Parser error will show.
Back to downloads and install.
Do this each time.
Once installed go to play store and make sure auto updates are turned off. After getting this working the play services updated with the newer version, which in turn stopped everything working again. And I had to go through the entire process again.
DO NOT UPDATE GOOGLE AY STORE OR SERVICES.
The only thing now not working for me is youtube which is not compatible with the old version of the play store.
Hope this helps someone.

Thanks for posting this - I was having major issues on my Mi 10 Lite Zoom until finding and trying this. Everything worked great - for about a week, and now none of my Google stuff works again?? Any thoughts on why? I guess I'll uninstall everything Google again and redo your suggestions above, but I certainly don't want to do this once a week?? Thoughts?
I am using redmi note 7 pro...facing same issue after updating. I did try uninstall google play and install again...but still can't sign in

Hi
You just have to try to make "Google Services Framework" and "Google Play services" to Autostart, as i told above.

I have also tried all the possible ways .clear caches and data , uninstall and reinstall , autostart permission + allowed app to start from another app .but still not working . I can't run a single Google item . Does you guys have any other ways to resolve this ?
