Hi
My note 2 has serious low range on bluetooth after 4.4.2 update official update.I own a samsung gear 2 neo so its pretty much useless because the phone gets diconnected from small distances really frustrating.I already read about a possible fix which is to remove duplicate contact's i tried but no result. So please some one help me suggest me a rom which stable and have this bluetooth fix and compatible with gear2 neo. Please
I use dr ketan's v14 ROM and my g2neo and bluetooth stereo headphones or even bt to mini jack adapter works about from about 5m without lag

I use it for over 8 months and never had problems.
Give it a try and see for yourself, you won't be disappointed - see dr. ketan's thanks meter

Hi Folks
New here, been trying to find a good build for my new TP.
The last one I tried was the XANDROID 2.1 AOSP build that is popular right now.
I had a couple of 2.1 builds before that. All builds say BT works...but no luck.
I'm trying to find a build that the AD2P BT headphones work ok. I'm running the Plantronics 590a headset. All of the builds I installed so far, the sound playback to BT is super choppy.
I've tried searching the forum for AD2P and BT headphones...but I haven't had any luck on a confirmed build...minus an old sense build by KlinuX that I'm having trouble getting to work...
Anyone know of a build with BT headphone support working ok? Or any fix I can install for the BT stack?
Thanks!

man am so glad to see youall bringing up this topic about bluetooth i recently tried one of the android products i have the motorolla s9 bluetooth headset and when i pair my device to the phone yes it was choppy so i was looking all around to see if there was a fix damn oh well i guess we gotta wait some longer for the other builts to come out but i find there moveing slow on the production of them even they havnt gotten the camera to work yet what is takeing them so longgg
Seriously guys? You're really going to whine and complain about how it's taking them so long?
Jump into the code and help! If you can't, then you are not allowed to complain .
They're working on it, and are well aware of the issue. The devs are doing this in their free time, no body is getting paid to do this work...
With that said for the most part all of the builds have the same functionality. There may be little differences here and there, but it's not like one build camera works or one build BT works perfectly. So please continue to wait patiently, donate to some devs, and learn how to write device driver code
whats up

OK. No problem. Was just wondering if there was one that was working better, since all I saw was "working" in a lot of the builds.
Thanks folks!
Hey all! First post, long time xda fan.
I recently got my Samsung Note, and decided to try the apple Bluetooth wireless keyboard that i already had.
I Can get it paired just find, but I cannot get it to actually connect.
I tried it with other devices to confirm that the keyboard works, and it does.
I tried various apps and tutorials for other android devices, including the similar Galaxy Tab, and have had no luck.
When i tell the Note to connect, it says connecting, flashes a sentence of text to quick to read, and then goes back to "Paired".
Any help with this issue would be great, thanks.
It's the kernel issue...Some kernel works, some don't =)
Works fine here with Franco Kernel #7 (and 6) and also CF Root. (LB1, LA4 too).

wow! Thanks for this. Now I know how will I pair my Apple BT keyboard. I also read somewhere that the kingdroid rom can also pair easily with Apple BT KB. But I want to retain my Rocket Rom so I'm looking for other option. Again, Thanks for this

Just flash another kernel that is compatible with the keyboard. You don't have to flash another ROM to do so.
I'm still on Android 4.04 and thinking I should upgrade, but wondering which ROM I should try. Which one do you guys think is the best one at the moment for speed, stability and the least problems?
maybe it helps to you to make better choice. At the moment no maintainer on them.

Rootbox - Most Feature Packed
Liquid Smooth - Most Optimized and Lite
CM10.1 - Most Stable, Technically because its closest to stock Android
AOKP - Has a few more features than CM10.1

lol everytime I ask I get a new one... good to know rootbox has wifi working, what about battery life?
thanks!
Different people had so many choice
All 4.2 use same kernel, IMHO similar battery life.
I toggle 3g, wifi and mobile internet only when I need, and 2 days like 60% with stock battery, when I use too much mostly a day or 2 the 100%.
You should backup and try all of them

I think I'll try CM10.1 and rootbox, thanks!
I found PACRom v18 w/ patches to be fully working minus bluetooth headset and skype (audio).
I never had dropped calls, duplicate texts etc. which are some of the issues i'm having in stock ICS. Battery was great once I installed JuiceDefender Ultimate .. I haven't switched up to Rootbox 4.2.2 because I couldn't get GPS to lock.

What about wifi tethering? Bluetooth audio does not work at all?
Sent from my MK16i using xda app-developers app
I have been using Rootbox since late January. I mostly like it, but I keep having multiple texts and sometimes I get a "not receiving texts" issue until I totally wipe the phones caches, data and rom and reflash. Getting kind of annoying because it's about every 2-3 weeks or so I gotta reflash or clear to a total wipe to fix an issue. Probably related more to the kernel than the rom? I dunno. I am thinking about trying CM 10.1 or DMan's daily driver which I think is based off of 4.0.4? 4.2 is nice, but I need a phone that's a touch more stable and so does my gf. Her phone has the same issues as mine at varying intervals. Rootbox is really nice, it's the only modified ROM I have experience with on these phones. Shame the dev community is dwindled but they did excellent work thus far. If I could I would take over...but I am no programmer. I think I may end up back with stock GB eventually though I'd rather not. I like having my Nexus 7 and phones all on the same 4.2.2.

Bluetooth won't work for headset hands free .. it may work for music (link w/ car radio to play music).
wifi tethering works flawlessly.
torch doesn't work from toggles but installing flashlight app from store easily resolves.

I am loving the AOKP 4.2.2 ROM. It has been working excellent for me. There have been very few glitches I have come across. Battery life is great and all functions seem to work. I haven't tried bluetooth since I don't ever use it.

Well played, my friend. Well played. Yeah I should spend more time in the Captivate Glide Android Development forum instead of here. That's kinda how I missed that little nugget of knowledge.

Thanks. When I get this phone, I would like a rom that mimics Jelly Bean, since I have an Epic 4G finally on Cyanogenmod 10 and I'm already used to that. Looks like I'll have to try a few roms (I don't think Cyanogenmod will ever come to the Captivate Glide ), but I'll keep the one you mentioned in mind.
I finally installed AOKP. The only thing I found misbehaving is bluetooth car handsfree.
has anyone tried with this rom ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2109774&highlight=best+rom
is so what can you say about it ?
where can I download a stock ICS rom for the captivate glide in case I want to go back ?

Can you explain 'bluetooth car handsfree'?
I get bluetooth / headset. And I believe I get 'handsfree' - click the button on the headset and it answers the call, and click the button on the headset, speak who you want to call (voice dial), and it dials.
In this case, your car is your headset? (Speakerphone, happens to be mounted in the car?)
Any chance (hoping), that it works with a bluetooth headset, in which case it could be a device compatibility problem?
Or is it just handsfree bluetooth (period) is unhappy?

I have an uconnect powered car. I can link the glide to my car but I don't hear anything during calls. Is there a rom that have this working properly?
Jb Rom
There's a dev Spyke555 who is developing a cm 10.1 jb rom for this phone.

It's a recent issue to do with some changes they made to the RIL. Should be fixed in the next few nightlies, you can revert to an older one, 2013/07/08 or earlier should be fine I think.
Hello guys,
I'm experiencing a weird problem on custom roms (except for the oxygen based custom roms) when having a call while my earphones are plugged in.
Indeed, both mics, from the earphones and from the phone itself, are fonctionning. This is pretty annoying as usually my phone is in my pocket when making that kind of call so i hear the friction noise of the phone against my pocket.
Does anyone else experienced it or have a solution ?
Thanks in advance for helping me guys, have a nice day !

Yes I am facing the exact same issue on 8.1 liquid remix ROM
This issue arise when I flashed 5.1.1 firmware file to fix headphone sound issue while playing YouTube and other videos
Fix that issue correctly but now the other issue arise which you described above...
Still finding the solution
If you get 1 please share

I used to install liquid remix, franken-rom and many others but they all have that problem. The only custom roms that don't have it are theone5tos and Zoe rom which I'm currently running as they are based on oxygen os...
I guess we need for a fix to come out...
Anyway, thanks for your answer, at least I know I'm not the only one facing this problem

Acoording to a comment in AOSPExtended rom thread the headphone issue is fixed.
I haven't tried it yet, I'll try it tomorrow. And then give a feedback if it's really gone or not.
We'll see!

OK so I've just tested the rom I was talking about and sadly for me, the issue is still there...
But according to this post in the AOSPExtended thread , the issue is gone. So I guess it depends on phones...
Anyway I hope one day it will be good for everybody...
A quick read over this thread says one thing to me: Update your firmware to the latest 5.1.2.
Edit: Grammar is important.

Unfortunately each time I wrote those messages I was on the latest firmware available (5.1.1 when I started this thread and 5.1.2 now) so I guess this not the problem...
But still, thanks for according interest to my problem !
By the way I'm now on Treskmod rom wich is based on Omnirom and I don't encounter this problem ! If it can help other people with the same issue...
