Whenever I plug my phone for charging the Fast Charging does not start automatically.
I see the notification 'Cable Charging' but only when I move the cable a little bit Fast charging starts & I see the notification is updated to 'Fast Charging'.
Sometimes it takes me just more than a push/twist. Not sure if its the charger or the charging port on the phone itself.
Is anyone else facing this issue ?

I had the same problem, it's likely your cable itself and not the adapter, switch your cable and see if that helps you out.
I think it is coz of clear case. The charger is unable to go inside properly. I am analyzing the pattern.

I dont believe that the charger in the box is a Qualcomm Quick charger- you have to buy one

For some reason my KF will only charge when the screen is on... I've tried using 6 different ROM's. Could this be because I'm charging through USB to walljack? I don't have the charger that came with it. Also, no matter what ROM I'm using, USB storage mode won't work.

Did you have the same problem on stock or just on other ROMs?
mine does that because the 3.0 kernel but if i reboot it show that it actually did charge might be your problem but im not sure
it will not charge while completely shutdown but if you go to settings about phone status the device will show charging if not unplug and replug till it says charging when it goes to sleep or standby it should continue to charge pay little attention to the led light its normal with the 3.0 kernel to act strange
Just trying to get my head around this dumb battery charging issue. Seems that some Roms the wife's kindle charges but doesn't say/show anything is actually charging. Some Roms show charging under battery information. All Roms don't show battery charging icon. Also the light on the power button works or doesn't work. Can someone explain all this so I can understand.. Its pretty bizarre.. Thanks
I will try to first give you the short answer then I will make an attempt at the long one. The charging issue is directly related to the kernel.... the long one... the icon will not indicate charging ever... go to about phone or tablet and status plug it in if it still says discharging unplug and replug if it still say discharging reboot then try again.. its common for the light to flicker amber when charging and not remain static at some point it will go green near the end of the charge... bottom line its just the nature of the beast...high usage fast or slow charge erratic indications all part of the animal...

Thanks for the explanation! What you mentioned is exactly what we have been seeing. It does charge so knowing its kernel related thing works for me.
I'm having a similar problem, I know it charges by going to the settings menu. The problem comes from when the Kindle goes to sleep, I always had a light come out of the button, but after installing Jandycane the light wont come on. It's hard to know if it is charging or not, anyone have the same problem?

Everyone has the same problem that's just how it is on JB and I believe ICS roms. The kernel needs fixed, but there are other issues that are most likely higher priority.

I have Hashcode's kernel and have flashed many ROMs. I'm on Hellfire's now . I find that if you charge in TWRP the light acts normal, stays red while charging and turns green at 90%. It may be my particular kf but try it , it might work.

Hey everyone,
I'm having a strange problem on my Defy for severals weeks and several builds now:
Everytime I unplug my Defy from the charger (PC or AC outlet), the battery indicator freezes, the charging LED freezes, and the Defy won't charge if I plug it in again. Only a reboot puts everything back to normal, but only until the next time I unplug it from the cable.
Does anyone else have this problem? How do I fix this? I guess it's a bug with the usb driver or something, but I can't figure it out.
Bye,
Spatz
PS: If you need any logs, just tell me and I will try to provide them!
Hello there, I've got Galaxy Gio.
When I charge my phone to the charger it can't make a connection. When I remove the battery and put it on again, and charge on, it starts charging. And when I charge it with USB Port to my laptop it starts charging but it can't make connection for transferring.
If someone has this problem too, please help me to solve it.

When I plug in the tab's micro USB to the computer's USB hub the tab is supposed to be in charging state. Incase the battery notification icon shows a red mark and my battery app tells me the tab is in discharging state.
Should not I be able to charge the tab via connection to a USB hub?
Peter
It does charge, but very slow.
So the message that it's discharging is an error? So it means it cannot see the difference between discharging an slow charging?

The kernel can detect the difference, just that stock ROM won't/doesn't display standard USB connection as a charging state.
This can be changed if your device is rooted to modify your framework or SystemUI smali and png's etc.
Just that while connected to USB PC, the charge rate may not (almost certainly) keep up with device current draw if you're using it and screen is on. Maybe for this reason Samsung doesn't show the battery indicator as charging.
