I just rooted using the 2.2 guide yesterday. I then dl'd a custom rom, flashed, and was all set. I then synced my gmail and work exchange account. Shortly thereafter my gmail account proceeded to send out a massive amount of calendar invitations to many employees in my company. These invites were for recent and old meetings, needless to say I'm not sure why gmail would send invitations without my say so and it was really embrassing. Could google calendar sync
Anyone experience this or know why? Any help is appreciated.
hi,is anyone have issues with google syncing accounts such as contacts, weather etc on their desire?I've been trying to update them all morning but kept getting the following message "sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly".I'm in the Uk, using an unbranded and unrooted phone running an official android 2.2 froyo.
I have the same problem with contacts not doing the sync. I changed an e-mail address in a contact on my desktop browser yesterday, and when I wanted to e-mail that contact from the phone I still had the old address. I tried to sync, but no changes.
Anyone else? I think this is a long time issue for me, had problems with calendar sync too, wondering if there is anything to be done (except wait for gingerbread and hope that fixes it).
Stock, unbranded froyo.
Clear contact storage through settings-Application. Then sync.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
That did it. Thank you!
Help: VZW Galaxy Nexus Contacts and Gmail "Sync is currently experiencing problems"
My new nexus will not sync contacts or gmail. I get the error "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." I have tried clearing the cache on both apps and restarting the phone, but the error reoccurs. It has synced some contacts (58 of 141). But the error remains, and the rest of the contacts do not appear, even after choosing to display "all contacts".
Can anyone help?

I'm seeing the same thing, though it's only affecting my synched bookmarks. If you go into settings > Accounts & Sync, it'll have an exclamation by the problem child/children. Uncheck whatevers not working and your contacts should finish in theory. I was able to get all my contacts.
Last time I restarted after a cache wipe, contacts gave the error, but gmail synced for a long time before giving the error. This time, contacts again errored right away, but gmail is still syncing. I'm hoping it will finish this time, and then I'll work on getting the contacts to sync.
I've checked the syncing on my other android devices and there are no problems there, so I don't think it's a problem with the servers.
I actually had the same problem when I wiped my touchpad last night. unchecked and rechecked and it started working again.
Well I hope it's temporary, but I'd really like to get it fixed. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to sync gmail? It's been going for over 30 minutes now.
Bump for a fast board, I still need help with this. I just formatted the cache in recovery and the problem came back immediately.
Edit: I deleted my google account and readded it and it seems to be working, sorry for the bump. I hope this helps someone else.
Unfortunately mine is still broken and I've tried everything. Adding it back in doesn't help. I'm using "[email protected] and my email will not synch even though others do. I have other gmail accounts that are synching just fine. What's up Google??? Man this is frustrating; the email account I actually need most is not working.
I just got my wife a Nexus, and I have been getting the sync error, along with a pop-up saying "unfortunately contacts have stopped working". Gmail is working fine, it's just contacts. This started happening after unlocking, rooting, and installing Codename ROM. I'm running Codename on my Nexus without problems. I unrooted, and relocked hers, and it seemed to be fine. Went back to unlocked, rooted, and Codename, and the problem came back. I'm going to try the previous versions of Codename, and Nova Launcher to see if it makes a difference, but if anyone has any more info about this, I'd like to hear about it.
Thanks
I upgraded to the Jellybean 4.1.2 from T-Mobile via Kies. Everything seems to work just fine except the calender. I can not add events, appointments, etc. I have tried it several times. I also tried going online via my PC to gmail and added the events there in my calender & sync to my phone & that doesn't work either. My phone is not rooted. Also downloaded Google Calender app. from the play store, installed, it won't let me add events either. Worked fine under ICS & gingerbread. T-mobile SGH-T989. My carrier is StraightTalk with T-Mobile sim, if that makes any difference. So far I am not impressed with JB or ICS.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix?
Thanks for the help.
Which calendar are you using: Google's or Samsung's? Depending on which, not only will you have to make sure your account is correct and syncing those calendar entries (in Settings), but in the app itself you have to choose which calendars to display (e.g., work and personal).
Hi guys. My father in law is having issues with syncing his Exchange calender with his Nexus 7. It was working fine before the last OTA, but since updating to 4.4.4 the calender won't sync. He has a Nexus 7 2013 wifi running stock 4.4.4 with a locked bootloader and non-rooted device. He is still getting emails, which seems odd. Both calender and email are set to sync at 15min intervals. He has already tried deleting the account and reinstalling it. This solved the problem briefly, but shortly afterwards the calender sync issue came back.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
