My previous phones had a setting to send group messages as MMS. I can't find this in my H815 and messages to multiple senders are sent individually. Has anyone else seen this and have you found a way to change this behavior?
FWIW, I am seeing this issue as well on mine. I have to use Hangouts in lieu of the default LG messaging app.
I ended up using Google Messenger.
What app versions do other variants have? The Taiwanese H815 has 4.50.24.
Here are screenshots of the multimedia settings from my G2 and the H815 G4:

On my gf's G3, Viber texts will show in the stock messaging app but not in Hangouts (even when Hangouts is set as the default messaging app). Any way to fix this?
Also, I rooted it and froze most of the of the AT&T bloatware that came on it and now her contacts don't show names (just phone numbers). Any idea which one might be responsible for this? I tried unfreezing AT&T Address Book but it's still the same thing.
Hi,
There is no way to integrate Viber into Hangouts. You can enable the Free reply with Viber option, but that only applies to regular network SMS messages.

Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
Recently noticed that I am unable to receive group messages and even within the hangouts app the option isn't even there.
Currently using the following AT&T APN settings:

Any suggestions? If this cannot be resolved I sadly think o will need to sell the phone as having group MMS is critical.
I am also running on PA 4.4.4
Disregard.
The problem came from me not having a phone number in the my phone number section of the settings. A simple app fixed that.
I am running CM11 on the virgin mobile variant and the only way to receive MMS while on 3G/roaming indicator on , is to use the hangouts app. I recall this being the case on other phones I've owned too. Does anybody know why this is or what hangouts secret is? I'd like to use either the default messaging app or textra at least. I don't understand what's making it work on Hangouts only.
LG G4 (AT&T) can only send MMS via stock AT&T Messaging app. I tried Hangout and Google Messenger, both fail with sending MMS for pictures and group chat.
Troubleshooting with AT&T, only the Stock LG Messaging App can send and recieve MMS.
6.0.0 with stock everything. OS Updated about a week ago, issue happened Sunday. This is out of the blue, any tips? I uninstalled, rebooted, changed APN, prayed etc....
Did you figure this out? I am having the same issue on Tmobile.
I'm running stock Oreo 8.0.0 on Samsung S9 using the bundled texting app.
When I receive group texts from an iPhone user, I only see myself as a recipient; the other recipients aren't listed.
Also when I reply to what I happen to know is a group text, my reply only goes to the sender rather than to the group members.
Is there a setting I'm missing or do I need to use a different text messaging app?
I use the default messaging app on my stock S9 (VZW) and I don't have this problem. Half my family use Android-based phones and the others use iPhones. Our group conversation work just fine. However, all of the group conversation I am involved in include people already in my contacts. I'm wondering if your missing recipients is related to who is in your contacts?

Nope, the problem shows up even with those in my contact list.
Maybe I'll try a random texting app and see what happens.
Other apps exhibit the same problem. Anyone have any insight into this problem?
