Hi - I have a 1ByOne BT Keyboard, and using the Settings.apk (v4.04), I've managed to pair it to my FireTV stick ... problem is though, I actually have two FireTV Sticks but the keyboard won't let me have them both paired at once
I can't see any way to un-pair in the BT Settings, I've also tried clearing the Settings apk Data & Cache, and also un-installing & re-installing the Settings.apk
So the only way out seems to be to
Get another BT Keyboard from a different Manufacturer, and have a dedicated Keyboard for each Stick
I know I could do a Factory Reset and set-up everything again but that would only get me going on this Stick, and would disable the Keyboard on the other Stick
Does any one have any other suggestions ?
- are there any BT Keyboards that can pair with two Sticks ?

You can use the app in the attachment to unpair device - Just select any bluetooth device listed in the paired section and it will remove it
You can also use the app to search for and pair other devices
Thanks - colour scheme is a bit garish, but does the job ok

Like 3 weeks ago I installed the settings.apk and it worked fine. So I decided to order a Bluetooth keyboard with mouse function from Amazon. Now that I try to pair it, every time I try to open the Bluetooth options, the settings app closes. I don't know if the update from last week disabled outside Bluetooth pairing. If someone has ideas to pair my keyboard, please share some insight thanks.

I don't think AFTV has BT that you can pair with. I'd buy a Logitech k400r that has its own plug n play USB module.

i think it;s been stated that the only way to fix that issue with the settings.apk app closing right away is to factory reset your unit and reinstall everything.
I had that issue on my AFS(which definitely has a built in bluetooth controller) after messing around with trying to pair various devices(like my cell phone) to it and then the app stopped working. Only way I could get it working again was to factory reset. Since then have successfully paired a GMYLE 4405 bluetooth 3.0 keyboard.

Before doing a factory reset, simply try uninstalling, rebooting, and reinstalling the apk. I also like to clear cache and data before uninstalling. Probably redundant, but it's better to be safe.
I'll give it a try. I basically have all the APKs I used in a folder, so it won't take long to reinstall everything.

Hey guys, new to the forum.... sideloaded the Settings.apk last night and was able to pair a motorolla BT mouse no problem. Used it all last night.
Came home today and the Fire TV was frozen, so I reset it, now the mouse isn't connecting.
When I go into the Settings app, it still shows it in the list but it doesn't say 'Connected' under the name like it does for the Fire remote.
Clicking on it in the list does nothing. I wish there was some way to tell it to forget that device but I'm not seeing any way.
I've tried uninstalling the Settings.apk but when I reinstall, the mouse is still listed as a device that has already been recognized.
I've checked the mouse batteries, and even took it upstairs and paired it with my computer to make sure it still worked.
Any ideas on how I can get it back?

PS Mods - Sorry for posting this in two forums, I think the first post was not placed in the right area to get help.
The only thing that helped me (for the stick though) was doing a factory reset. After that I could add it back and connect.

You must press on the bluetooth icon on the right side next to the name of your mouse, then you will have the option to unpair your mouse, and then you can pair it again.
To do so, you must install an app on your android phone which is called Wukong Remote, and use the touchpad mode, which will act like your mouse and then you can do the steps and unpair your mouse.
I had kinda the same problem, but it was with a USB mouse. I used the mouse for about a week, then the Fire TV froze, and the mouse never connected again. Not only did it not connect, it would not connect to any other device I have either. When I put the dongle in my PC it shows there is a dongle, but the firmware for the dongle was somehow erased. It has never happened to any other donlges I have, but I still worry that it could.

I would def. try this if I had an android phone, but I have an iPhone. Been looking for a mouse app for it but haven't had much luck.
Yes, doing factory reset was painful. But I learned my lesson, I don't unpair my BT keyboard/mouse from the stick or try to use it with any other device.
Also, not really answering your Q, but you can install the Amazon FTV app on your iPhone ( https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/amazon-fire-tv-remote/id947984433 ) and use that to toggle your BT settings (I tried that and it didn't help me). Its an option if you don't want to use a third party app (you can also send commands for control selection in your FTV for movements through adb, AFTVNews.com has a guide)

I bought a BT mouse but it was very slow and not accurate on my fire tv stick. It worked well on my phone and pc.
Does your mouse work good on the fire tv?
I just received the latest update on the Fire Stick, v.54.1.1.0_user_11041020.
I now can no longer access some menus on the sideloaded settings.apk. I click the bluetooth menu, and it closes out the app. Same with the wireless and data usage menus. So I can't pair up any wireless keyboards now.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled without any luck.
Any workarounds??

Unfortunately, I think the workaround may be to not update...

I am having the exact same issue. Brand new FireStick TV:
Software Version: Fire OS 5.0.3.2 (535062120)
I uploaded using ES Explorer via Cloud and MediaFire.
I noticed that when I push this file up, it shows as taking 4.77 MB, whereas tutorial videos showed something like 4.03 MB or something when you launch from Applications. It's the same Setup.APK that the tutorials use, but somehow gets bloated. I wonder if Amazon is doing something to the file when it is detected upon upload.
Maybe pushing the file in via another method or activating BT settings elsewhere is an option.
Same problem here. Looking for OS 5 compatible settings.apk

I also could not get any settings apk to work on mine (i tried Katkat & Lollipop versions but none worked) & had the same effects as you did, dont think you can use the settings apk with the new OS5 firmware? You cant pair your keyboard/controllers on your stick now i had the same problem on my AFTV2 box (not stick) but i have a usb socket which wouldnt work unless i did these steps bellow.
1. go to settings, deselect ADB Debugging (turn off)
2. plug in the wireless keyboard dongle, wired controller, usb hub or what ever you wanna connect
3. now everything works fine again
I know this is not a fix for your situation but im just letting you know ive also asked about the settings apk in the q&a forum here but had no responce.
I hate to create a new thread with similar questions as others but none of the other threads seem to specifically address my question.
Is there a way to use the android phone to emulate a bluetooth keyboard/mouse functionality that simply pairs with other devices. I know there are many client/server applications but with regards to Fire TV Stick I just want to use the setting.apk and pair my phone to it. I have searched high and low but can't seem to find anything which makes me believe there is something inherent to that feature I don't understand which makes it not possible.
I have several apps sideloaded to Fire stick (Xfinity TV) requiring mouse and keyboard functionality. I can't find an efficient way to do this with my phone instead of buying more hardware (bluetooth keyboard/mouse).
Thanks!

Maybe something like this will help....
http://www.aftvnews.com/remote-mouse-app-released-for-fire-tv-fire-tv-stick/
Its like 2 bucks. It has both KB and mouse functionality. Not sure how good it is, I have no experience with it.
If you just need keyboard functionality, you can get by with Amazon's official app which is free...

EDIT: I re-read and understand you want native BT functionality to pair your android device. I have not come across anything like that. But, you can use the app which will let you ditch your hardware keyboard, but comes with extra steps of firing up the app and having your device and FTV on the same wireless network.
I just tried out the Free Wukong TV remote app from Google Play Store. It works to control the FTV Stick and has a mouse mode that lets you use the screen as a left click. I tried it in Xfinity To Go app and Old Slingplayer tablet app that needed a mouse to select options. It works but you need to switch between mouse mode and d pad mode. It's pretty easy to switch from the app.
The Wukong app once you install on your phone and then make sure you are on the same wifi network as the Stick and enter IP of Stick or press Scan network. It will install a Wukong Remote server app on the stick. Once that is installed restart your stick and try to connect. The on the upper right is a button to switch between remote styles ie keyboard, dpad, touchpad, mouse mode.
There is a Wukong keyboard app that you can install from the phone also which lets you input text in Stick using your phone virtual keyboard. I tried it and it works and is better than using the Stick remote. However I get scared of using that app to put usernames and passwords because this app is from China and who knows if they are keeping that information.
I ended up taking the Wukong of my daily use phone and put it on a a cheapie $10 Android phone. Works great and I feels safer that this app can't be logging my information.
You could try 'True Mouse/KB' in play store, it adds Bluetooth HID device profile to your phone.

Hi i have downloaded the Amazon Fire TV Utility App and i have added the ip from the Amazon Fire stick and CMD came up saying it had connected, i have then tried to load the settings.apk using the Amazon Fire TV Utility App but all i am getting is a CMD with this in it error: device offline followed by -waiting for device-
The Fire Stick is turned on and i have tried turning off my firewall and still the same problem.
Hi I managed to get it installed on the Fire Stick by running Amazon FireTV Utility App as administrator, i can now see the settings app on the fire stick and when i launch it i can see the Bluetooth option but if i click on it the app just closes it does this on what ever option i click in the settings app.
I am assuming you are on OS5.
Make sure you have the proper IP address (in FireTv Utilities app settings) for your box/stick then go in Settings/ Developer Options/and turn off and on ADB debugging two ot three times ....should work now.
Thank you for your reply i tried what you recommended but it still launches and then closes as soon as you select an option.
I'm also seeing the same thing. I've installed the settings.apk, but everytime I click on any entry, it kicks me out...
why do you need this settings.apk? what are you needing to change / use it for?
I have loaded Kodi on my fire stick and some of the apps require mouse support to navigate so i want to buy a bluetooth air mouse and all tutorials say you need to load the settings.pka and use the bluetooth options from with in that.

You don't need it.
FireOS 5 has better bluetooth support.
Here is my pairing of my Apple MagicTrackpad to the FireTV Stick (note the MagicMouse from 08 will not pair - Apple issue)
You can see me pair, pin is 0000, and the mouse cursor is that smallish circle in Kodi. The stock launcher has no mouse support, but FireStarter does.
Hi so all i need to do is get a Apple MagicTrackpad and it will work ?

I'm sure there are better Bluetooth nice to use. I just paired what is laying around. The drivers that the firetv has don't support tap to click on it so I have to click the touch pad which isn't easy unless it's on a table.
You will likely be able to use almost any Bluetooth mouse with the firetv.
I wouldn't recommend the apple trackpad for firetv usage.
The android mouse toggle app has worked well enough for me that I don't even bother with pairing a mouse.
Hi i just got the Mouse Toggle app and it finds my Amazon stick and connects everything is enables and at the bottom it says status started but on my phone it just says done at the bottom and there is no controls or anything. I have enclosed a screen shot. Thanks again for your help.
Thank you i have it all working great now.
