Unroot for sending to service - Sony Xperia M

Hello,
My question to you is, if i'm repairing my phone with sony pc companion , will root capabilities dissapear?
Because i whant to send my phone to service and i'm worried that if i have root the warranty will be denied.
Or can you help me with another option to unroot and make the phone be at factory settings.
Thank you very much.

are your phone still can boot up? i mean not in brick condition?
if your phone still can boot up, you can flash your phone with stock ftf firmware file with flashtool software and do full wipe data before install. and you can service it safely and no worrie with root warranty

The phone is fully functional, the only problem is my micro usb charging slot wich is not working proprely, and that's why i need to send it to service.
I'm kind of reserved to flash anithing because i'm worried not to break something.
But by doing a repair phone from sony pc companion is not the same thing with flashing the stock ftf with flashtool?

it's the same, I belive that as long as you haven't unlocked your bootloader it'll be fine but how do you want to flash it when your usb is broken?

I have a locked bootloader so i think i'm good.
It's not quite broken.
It's not charging fast enough , and sometimes it stops charging.
I'm hoping that it's not gonna affect the repair process.
What do you think?

I have the same issue, it's not usb fault, there is something wrong with motherboard. It's preatty common problem but I saw case where repair shop told guy to buy new battery and charger, he did it and it didn't helped, then he send it again to repair and they changed his motherboard
well I send my one to service and if they won't fix it i'll put it into trash. This phone makes me angry, hopefully I bought new moto e.

I got a glossy black brick... I think.

Hi everyone, on this past week I've been trying to get me XP back to life... but with no success.
For starters I woke up one day to find that my phone has powered off by itself (no root nor unlocked bootloader), tried to power it on but no response, had to remove e reinsert the battery for it to boot up. Some days later same thing but when i turned it on it started a bootloop, repaired with SEUS.
This week it made the same thing and i had to repair it with Wotanserver, but when i let it alone it would reboot... everytime it entered the sleep mode it would crash and reboot. Tried flashing some roms on the forum with no luck... now wotan sees my phone as a R800i when it really is a R800a and SEUS keep saying that me phone have the latest update.
Yesterday it stopped bootlooping... it don't even show the "Sony Ericcson" phrase.
I'm new to android phones got this phone in oct/2011, didn't installed CWM.
So if someone could try to help me i would really apreciate.
Ok so, download flashtool and flash the latest r800i firmware or the any r800a firmware. As long as you can enter flash mode, your phone is fine. The reason the roms didn't work is your locked bootloader.
Nevermind, Potato13 beat me to it before I finished typing.
Thanks for the replies.
Yes I tried flashtool with several rom's either R800i and R800a from .42 to .62, from US to HK. Neither made my phone show any signs of beeing better.

try to unlock your bootloader.. then flash r800a fw..
So to get this right - You already flashed different stock firmwares to it and that stuff still happened?
Should actually not happen... to me that would indicate that there is some kind of hardware problem since you never rooted the phone nor unlocked the bootloader to really mess things up.
I would send it in

Isn't unlocking bootloader only for custom rom's? Well thats what i think it is.

Yes I was thinking on doing so but i already flashed other Fw's on this phone isnt my warrant already void? I'm saying this because I dont think I would have the money to pay the repair service.
As far as I am concerned, only rooting and unlocking the bootloader voids your warranty. You have done neither so you should be fine .
I asked Sony Customer support once how to handle my not booting phone and they adviced me to flash stock firmware - So I would figure they can't deny you services because of doing so.

Ohh I see thanks for the answer, really appreciate.
---------------------------Update(05/14/2012)--------------------------
Sent the phone to SE as sashake recommended, and turn out that the problem was with the hardware itself.
SE gave me a new unit as it was still covered by warranty.

[Q] tried to unlock my boot loader with ez-unlock, now my Galaxy S3 won't turn on

I installed EZ-Unlock 1.2 on my phone then proceeded to unlock the bootloader.. everything worked fine.. said it worked.. so I restarted my phone and it did not restart.. the phone will not turn on at all.. no hard reset.. no download mode.. nothing.. when I connect it to my pc it doesn't do the usual connect sound now its 3 short ding sounds (bassier sound)
any help would be appreciated..
thanks in advance
The bootloader should already be unlocked on the gs3 except Verizon. No need for this tool. You might have a brick.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
I forgot to mention that the phone does nothing... No Let's even when plugged into a charger... Even if it was bricked shouldn't it do something.. Could the battery have died?
QHSUSB_DLOAD when connected to computer
No, if it's bricked its just that. A brick. It does the exact same thing as a brick. Nothing. You need jtag repair to have a functioning device again.
Considering it is hard bricked will my service provider Honour the warranty?

That would be considered warranty fraud. You need to pay someone for jtag service to revive your phone
No. You voided your warranty when you tried to unlock the unlocked bootloader.

I just did the exact same thing! Will a JTAG bring it back to proper working order, the same way as it was before, or should I just buy a new phone?

Yes JTAG will work fine or at least should. I haven't seen a case yet that JTAG didn't work
Sent from my SGH-i317 Note 2 on Tapatalk 2 - running on Beanstalk powered goodness!!
Provided there is no hardware damage, jtag will fix a brick that was caused by software incompatibility.
Any other way
Is there any other way besides JTAG because I don't want to spend money to repair this. I hard bricked my s3 after trying EZ-unlock on 4.4.2 my screen won't even turn on.
thats because the S3 comes with unlocked bootloader. look thru the debrick thread and might find a method there. good luck.

[Q] Re-lock HTC One X without USB access

Hi guys,
Do anyone know how to do this as my USB seems like no reaction to data transfer and fastboot in bootloader. PC can't detect the hardware at all and i have tried on few laptops and different cable. I also tried the POGO connector but no function at all. I found this:
rootzwiki.com/topic/19864-vzwsprintgsmguide-ultimate-galaxy-nexus-guide-unlockrootflash-romsfaq/page__st__40#entry759280
but it is for Galaxy Nexus.
Do anyone face this before and i need to re-lock back to original ROM and recovery.img in order to claim the warranty on repairing the USB port.
Not sure whether is motherboard problem or the driver inside the phone corrupted by the custom ROM.
Or does anyone know how to enable back the USB by reinstall the USB driver in the phone?
Really need someone expert in Android to help me...
Thanks & Regards,
Aniki
there's no way to lock the phone without USB access, without USB you can't do anything... you should send the phone to HTC and ask for a replacement
i won't sent back because my phone is unlocked and flashed with MIUI V5 3.5.10. They said warranty is void but i already write an email to HTC Global to check what is cover when i unlock the phone. I think this is hardware failure, should not cause by software. They might erase my phone and without USB access, my phone might brick because of that. I saw many HOX user facing USB failure problem in around the world but no one solve the problem. Someone expert should look into the link that i show and come out with a way that can be done with USB access to re-lock and flash back the recovery. Android is just like a computer and there should be some way to manually flash to stock recovery and lock the oem lock.

XA2 sdcard reader issue

I have an XA2 that does not like sdcards. I have tried 3 different ones and get the command volume partition error. All 3 cards check out fine on pc and work in my other phones. Did the formatting on pc and all other supposed "fixes" that I could find out there. One trick that made a difference was placing tape on the tray to push the card closer to the pins. That made it to where the phone didn't see the card at all. One piece of scotch tape. So I'm guessing from this that there is a problem with the pins? I've looked at youtube video of the disassembly of this phone and doesn't look any harder or easier than others. So.... any thoughts? I thought at first it was software, but did a software repair and that didn't change anything. Anybody else have this issue and what did you do if anything? Be nice to have more than 32g of storage. I can use otg storage but that's cumbersome as opposed to having it internal.

Hi
If you have already tried to format the SD, and it seems like as if there is a problem with the pins, so don't disassemble the phone and use your warranty to give the phone back to Sony. If you will try to disassemble the phone, you will 99% lose your warranty.

How did you repair software with unlocked bootloader?
If I were you, I would try to COMPLETELY put the phone back to stock (locked + unroot) and hope that Sony won't give you problems...
If you start disassembling the phone there may be many problems because you aren't an expert, so I would take the risk to pay (in Italy there is a 15€ ticket in case you are out of warranty for some reasons but you have already sent the phone to the repair service)
Repaired it with EMMA. Bootloader cannot be re-locked.

Yeah you can. Firstly install ADB and fastboot drivers. Then connect the phone and type:
adb reboot bootloader
On reboot completed execute:
fastboot oem lock
Or, if it doesn't work:
fastboot flashing lock
Or, if it doesn't work:
fastboot oem relock
Then:
fastboot reboot
Then repair software with Sony PC companion
Done:highfive:
From the Sony site:
If I change my mind later on, is there any way to restore my device?
No. Once you have unlocked the boot loader, you will not be able to revert the device back to a locked or original state or restore the DRM security keys. You can however use the Flash tool for Xperia™ devices to flash a generic Sony ROM, although it will not receive automatic software upgrades.

I know what there is written, and yes, you can't restore DRM but I have relocked bootloader twice on my previous device.
Right, that's what the quote I posted said.
Mute point anyways. Not returning to Sony. Just looking for others who may have had this issue and if indeed it is the reader or a firmware issue and what, including tearing phone apart, did people do to resolve it.
