Used pingpong to root. Any way to install a new rom without tripping knox?
You can't install a custom Rom without installing a custom recovery. Once you install a custom recovery this will trip Knox. So, either leave it rooted with the stock rom or install TWRP and trip Knox and install a custom rom. Those are your options.

Hello All,
I recently flashed KitKat 4.4.2 successfully but now I need to re-root. I see dodgy posts about rooting certain ways. Can someone please point me to the right direction in the easiest and safest way to root on KitKat? Thanks!

You can use CF Auto Root to re-root the phone. The only problem is this method will trip the Knox warranty void counter which can't be reset at this time. You flash it through odin and after it roots, you need to disable Knox. To do that, download (or update) SuperSU and when you run it for the first time, it will give you an option to disable Knox for the root to fully work. Finally, you can install the custom recovery. While this is optional, this is strongly recommended. You can use CWM or TWRP by downloading from either ROM Manager or Goo Manager depending on what recovery you want. After doing that, you should have a fully working root

You can also flash the SuperSU zip after using Odin to flash a custom recovery (I recommend philz)
Sent from my Sprint Galaxy S3 rocking Bilgerryans Wicked X ROM with the fluidity script, Tweaked out with a bunch of xposed modules, powered by Ktoonsez KT747 Kernel!!
Could someone point me in the right direction, I'm pretty clear on how to flash, etc.
I'm on complete stock, so I need to root and custom recovery. But could you all help me so I can do it without tripping Knox.
You can't flash recovery without tripping knox. All you need to do is use Odin to flash recovery and use recovery to flash Danvdh's 5.0 GPE rom. It's pre-rooted, so you're good to go right out of the gate.
Is it possible to install CM with towelroot and bypass knox tripper?
I thought i use towelroot first, then install a recovery?
Towelroot will not trip Knox, but when you add recovery and boot into recovery to install CM, you will trip Knox. No way around it.
Is there any way around it?
No
It's adding a custom recovery that trips Knox. Several people learned that the hard way after rooting with Towel root.
Not just recovery trips Knox.
Now that the PingPong Root method is out, does installing a custom recovery still trip Knox? If it doesn't, how do I go about doing it? And does flashing custom ROMs trip Knox? Sorry for the dumb questions. Messing around with Samsung devices isn't really my speciality.
Installing any custom recovery will trip Knox, installing custom roms will trip Knox. You can not install a custom Rom without a custom recovery.. Also. once you root with Ping Pong you will not be able to get OTA updates..
Hey everyone.
I was wondering whether there is a possibillity to flash deknoxed rom on SM-P605 without tripping the Knox flag. Currently I have P605XXUCNF2 firmwere rooted with Towelroot.
Thanks in advance
no if you flash a Rom you will trip Knox. since you have to flash a custom recovery to flash the rom which trips Knox it's self.
It doesn't matter anymore about tripping Knox since warranty expired for note 10.1 already!
