Thanks for the tip. I've tried this app and can confirm it works well. I had been using "BoldBeast" which also works well. However JIT is a lot easier to use and doesn't require any trial and error configuration.
With JitCallRecorder wat is the best setting use to get the best call audio recorded?

The default settings should work fine for HTC One M9
Sorry to bump an old thread but I'm having no luck with JIT on the M9. I spoke with the developer too who was great but we can't seem to find what's wrong. I even got a second handset thinking it may be a hardware problem but same story.
My outgoing voice records fine however the incoming is extremely distorted. Anyone have this issue? Are you all using default?
Automatic Call Recorder works flawless on my m9

This is not microphone related as far as I can see... This thread is for the low mic lvl of Hangouts on ASOP roms...
HTC One Mic not working on Google hangout
Hi, I recently got system update on my HTC One. Current android ver 4.2.2.
But while doing a hangout, the mic does not work for me, I can hear other people, but seems there is no way to put on your mic.
Is there a remedy to resolve this?
Fist I thought it was a modem related issue, flashed a new modem and all working for two months..
Then, after various nightly updates the problem is back again. Who have the no sound call issue on cyanogenmod firmware?
It is a kernel problem?
I created this thread to exchange ideas and maybe help @arco68 to fix the problem.
FIX
"Apparently low latency audio might be problematic on msm8960/msm8930 devices, and it seems that it's not enabled in Samsung stock rom either." @arco68
So, to fix you must delete theese lines from audio_policy.conf file:

It must be possible to find some systematic differences between working and not working. After all, our hardware is identical, the software base as well. You should summarize the collected wisdom at your OP.
Disable the "OK Google" detection at Google Now settings worked for me so far.

Possible solution
Hi,
I had this problem 3 months ago for the first time and I have not been able to solve it with any ROM I've tried. Then someone suggested me to install the app Disable service and going to system services menu, uncheck "check in service" in the google services. It works!
Now the problem appears only 1 or 2 times a week... I think the matter is that sometimes the app disable service doesn't start automatically or can't obtain root permissions.
Try it... and good luck!

I had the no-sound-issue with the UCOA2, too. I don't think updating the Radio helps to solve this problem in general.
I've testet the tip, to disable "Ceckinservice" previously, and first, it seems to work, but than the no-sound-issue appeared again.
About check in service
Hi DavidMLondon,
I don't know what google check in service does, but I don't use google now so I can't say if it's necessary for that or no. I had no general problem disabling check in service and as I said, before that I had the no sound in call problem every day (also two times....I mean 2 reboot needed), now I have it 1 or 2 times at week.... I don't know why...
I´m not sure this is caused by the same issue but maybe there is something into it.
So well I´m still on 5.0.2. It´s the latest release before Arne switched over to 5.1.1. Baseband is COC2.
By reading about your mic issues I wanted to check if my device is involved into it as well as I never had to deal with this issue. So Used the OK Google function first and then I called myself from a stationary phone. All was fine. Just later my wife called me and all I could hear is a horrible noise comming out of my speaker. The phone app crashed and keept crashing till I rebooted the device.
Then I disabled OK Google detection and all is fine so far. At least for normal calls. Just am experiencing something simmilar by making calls via Whatsapp. When the connection is bad and I´m getting the reconnect signal, my mic stops working when it gets reconnected again. It also keeps not to work when I finish the call and recall the person.
Now I'm on 30/06 nigthly and COD3 baseband and can't reproduce the issue, all working.
Does people have the no sound issue have disabled vibrations on soft touch buttons? This is the first time I left that enabled after a clean install and all works good.

Man! Please update your radio: Please check http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-I9195/ for the recent radio of your country , and download the radio-file over xda forums.
Then disable the "OK Google" detection and also disable Google play services' "checkinservice".
I had this issue today. i heard the first few words of the caller then the sound went intermittent 'robotic' for a sec and then it was silent. the next call as well. I rebooted i had no calls for an hour it worked after. but i had this on prev builds just didnt know it was my phone causing it, thought its the network maybe, but now im sure its not. im checking my baseband ver a bit later, and i might try to update it.
my current modem is I9195XXUBML4.
Hey people. I just made the move to 5.1.1 using Tipsy ROM available on Google+ and was suffering from similar issues like you lot. My calls would sometimes lose sound or drop or sound very distorted. I also had problems with Google voice search. I was using the latest modern COD3 from a stock kit Kat. But dev had no such issues. So I changed my modem to the one the ROM dev was using which was an older version xxucnk5 and all my phone call issues disappeared including Google voice search issues. Don't know of this helps anyone? Using i9195 LTE here.
If someone could test the following, that would be great.

I'm very interested in grabbing this phone but I heard that LG devices sometimes have issues with this application. Can someone test Skvalex's Call Recorder for me before I buy it?

If you can test recording both incoming and outgoing that'd be awesome. I greatly appreciate the help!

it's not possible to test this until there is a working root for this phone. As yet, there isn't.

Oh hmmm. I guess I'll have to wait on that until we have root. Hopefully someone will be able to root it soon so it can be tested.

2. Moto x pure ed. ALSA microphone http://vocaroo.com/i/s1uCkmxeoAuX
3. Nexus 5 (original) CAF http://vocaroo.com/i/s0XaaBlHagTH
So far nothing else has worked one or two recorded just my end and most refused to record at all.
Messaged skvalex on this already. Awaiting his response. Don't want to root phone amid reports of the e-fuse
I presently have a rooted Nexus 5 (original). But I just ordered the 5x. For my business I need to use a phone call recorder. Has anyone here used one or do you know of one that will work with the 5x without rooting the phone? Thanks.
Nexus 5x call recorder
I'm interested in this as well. So are several other people.
Automatic Call Recorder Pro worked on my old phone, but it does not work on the Nexus 5x. I have already purchased this app for my old phone, and it's too bad I can't use it on the new phone.
Boldbeast does work on a rooted Nexus 5x. This is the only one I've found so far. It records two-way conversations, but its interface sucks (it looks like a Windows 3.11 application) and doesn't save calls to dropbox or other online storage service. Boldbeast is also $10.
As soon as someone better releases a Nexus 5x call recording solution, I'm leaving Boldbeast.
---------- Post added at 12:26 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:12 AM ----------
Already an update: "Call recorder by skvalex" seems to work better. I can't post a link to it because I'm too new to the forums, but hopefully that's enough information to get you there.
Call recorder
On my rooted Nexus 5 I have always used the Call Recorder app from Skvalex. It's by far the best one i've ever used. I was hoping to find one that would work without rooting, but I don't believe that's going to happen. If you plan on rooting your 5x then try Skvalex's app. It's really good.
Hey guys, has anyone found a successful way to get call recording on the Pixel 2 XL? All the apps look like they're working but if you play them back it only has the Pixel 2 out going voice recorded--the other side of the conversation (the person you're call or received a call from) is not recorded. Anyone find a way around this or an app that is successful? I loved ACR on my other phones but it won't work on Pixel 2 XL.

Yes, I am rooted, but not using the root method of recording. I'm using the 'android' method. It should work without root.
EDIT: yeah, I just checked. The root method is not even checked and is grayed out. Also, using the AMR audio format.

Ok. Yeah it does not work for me now, but it was before! I used Titanium backup to restore my data and it was fine. But then there was an issue with playing back files from the app. So I reset the options and still assumed it was working. Anyhow, I am now using the root method of recording and that appears to be the only method that works. Sorry for the misinformation
I'm using call recorder from skvalex. It's a paid app but it works perfectly with root. You can install the app from the play store but you have to download the root module from XDA site. It has a 7 day free trial.

+1. I switched to ACR from total recall and it's way better! Also works without root. Well, I'm rooted, but the app does not prompt, nor does their seem to be a setting to even grant root. Works perfectly though. Here are my settings...
Just to update, I put the audio source to Voice_Comunication
And the other side of call is clearer.
been playing with settings before posting hope you find the same is true?

Hello guys, it seems it doesn't work on Android P. According to ACR devs it won't work on the official release version either.. Do you have any working alternatives on Android P?
I have the Lifetime sub for Parrot and was excited to try out the Call Recording, but it's doing the same thing, only recording my side of the calls. I also have it set to Voice Communication but nope, Android P doesn't like call recording. It's a luxury for me, so not a huge issue, but thought it would be nice to record important calls so I can review them / make notes / reminders later, etc... Back to the good ole' notepad and pen nearby routine, lol.
+1 for ACR !
Only issue is, once in a while - it doesn't record the other end of the call. Only my end.
It's totally random, and sometimes pretty messed up if it misses an important call.
I'm using the Call Recorder app from F Droid, works great, use aac under encoding and I'm able to hear both voices.
ACR works fine on Oreo, unfortunately on P it does not, nor will it due to Google/Android P restricting access to microphone on third party apps.
I've got Pixel 2 XL, Android P and just tried ACR with the settings from the screen shot in earlier post and it works fine, records both sides.
Hmmmm, strange that it's working on Android P as Google in their official statement has stated that going forward ( From Android P ) their will not a non-root method of call recording. Search google its everywhere.
