[Q] stock LP Xperia ZL C6502 root issue - Sony Xperia ZL

hallo, i have Xperia ZL with stock lollipop C6502_10.6.A.0.454 R2E_Customized US , i already tried to root it with some method, replace kingroot with superSU with terminal emulator, and another method is downgrade to KK and flash a pre rooted rom with custom recovery.
it says success, my device has been rooted by both method, but the problem is, when i grant root access for some apps like titanium backup, netcut, rootexplorer, etc. my hp will reboot itself after about 5-10minutes after granted root access or just open the apps. it just works fine if i don't open any apps which need root access
i have not try the UBL method, i can't find any tutorial, i have browse a whole day and found nothing
i really appreciate any kind of help thankyou. and my appologize for my bad english, it is not my native language

[Q] Is my root fine?

I had hard time with finding how to root this phone but I might did this. Can you tell me if I discovered something or just really ****ed up?
I found this site. http://techglen.com/2015/02/14/how-...3-14-4-a-0-157-android-4-4-4-kitkat-firmware/
Downloaded the .ftf files. Flashed the .108 kernel and then just used the root option from flashtool. Flashed .157 back.
Everything is working. Root Checker says that I have root. I was able to hid the softkeys compeletly.
But couldn't find anyone using this method on here so.. Was I blind or just done something wrong?
People don't use your exact method , but in esence thats the way everyone roots on locked bootloader: flash an old stock kernel that is known to have a root exploit, root using that exploit(with flashtool or some other way) and after that flash the latest stock kernel that you will use. It's been this way for a long time for all the xperia devices.
Thanks for the answer. I'm so happy I finally got this phone. Been waiting for months! Earlier had to use ****Phone and even with jb it felt so bad. Maybe I'm an android fanboy. But with iOS I got that claustrophobic feel..
Even though I used the same guide and got root, the latest Root Explorer cannot seem to be able to open panel_id text file located in sys/devices/blahblah folder for example. Nor can it copy it to sdcard1. I get a message that I need root even though I've granted permissions to the app. Titanium seem to work OK. So what's the matter? Any ideas? How do I make sure I have full root access?

hey sorry been a bit off lately. download root checker app from Google play store. this should tell you if you're rooted or not. or try to use root browser app
Root Explorer eventually can have root permissions off by default.
Check it's settings.
I reflashed XZDR 2.8.3 and SuperSU 2.48 beta and everything is fine. Maybe try the same.

Should I flash stock ROM, to rectify issue?

My friend wanted to root his phone on the go, so he downloaded King Root and it sort of worked(explained later) but for the app he wanted to use he didn't have proper root access, his SU manager(Some Asian language) gave that app permissions but it won't work because it kept asking for root access. That's when I took over, i downloaded SuperSU and when i went on it i needed it said SU Binary needs to be updated, I went OK and chose normal installation(Didn't have TWRP), it didn't work so i downloaded TWRP Manager and installed in, surprisingly I had root access on it. TWRP was installed successfully, so I went back to install SU Binary through TWRP installation, it keeps failing, IDK why...
So i'm gonna properly root his phone following this video YOUTUBE: /watch?v=FOaRQoJWWDw (I'm new so can't post links)
So since i'm gonna be rooting it again, do I need to flash stock ROM onto his phone?
All answers will be appreciated.
Is the bootloader unlocked?
I only see one recent report of kingroot v4 working on the M8, and it was on KitKat: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general/kingroot-rooting-app-t2913123/page4
For the most part, root apps don't work on HTC devices unless you unlock the bootloader. At which point, the root apps are pointless, as you can just install TWRP and flash SuperSU to root, or any other variety of methods.
Also, I don't recommend using the toolkit to root as suggested in the YouTube video. The toolkits are outdated, install obsolete versions of TWRP, which will cause other problems. If you are serious about rooting and modding the phone, the best way to go about that is to read and learn the proper way (not with root apps or toolkits). The "sticky" guide and FAQ threads at the top of this forum section, and top of the "General" M8 forum section are a good place to start.

Use kingroot. It will take numerous tries though.

[Q] Root Xperia Z1 Compact Android Lollipop (14.5.A.0.270)

Hello,
I rooted my Xperia Z1 Compact on KitKat and changed the HOSTS file to block ads.
After the update to lollipop the root acces disappeared. So it's impossible to change the HOSTS files now.
I'd like to re-root my device, but haven't found an easy solution yet.
The only option is using KingRoot, but it looks a bit shifty.
Is there another easy way to acces my hosts file and/or re-root my device?
I'm no android expert, so a very detailed tutorial or an easy app would be welcome
Best regards
Johan

Follow this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/son...al/lollipop-rooted-xperia-z1-compact-t3177659 - I did it this week and it works great. It only takes a few minutes, and you can do most of it right on the phone. You just need to connect to PC for recovery install. Make sure you have adb, etc.

Root access for GT-I9195I?

Hi, I have a brand new, stock, unlocked, international version GT-I9195I, which I updated to Android 4.4.4 before attempting to root. I attempted to follow the instructions given here for root access. I didn't realize until just now that these instructions were for a slightly different model, the GT-I9195, not the GT-I9195I.
Two questions: first, have I done any harm by attempting to flash the GT-I9195 recovery onto my GT-I9195I? (It still boots and appears to work normally.) Second, where are the instructions to get root access for this particular model (Baseband version I9195IXXU1AOB1)? I found a thread here for installing TWRP but it doesn't seem to mention how to get root...
Use kingroot for rooting...just install the app and press root
Sorry for taking so long to reply. Thanks for the advice! Kingroot was successful on the second attempt at obtaining root access.
However, I do have a follow-up question. Can I install a superuser app like SuperSU, then uninstall kingroot, and still retain root access? Kingroot's Purify feature shut down my alarm clock app and some others I want to run at startup, and toggling apps in the "Auto-start" setting of kingroot seems to have no effect. I uninstalled Purify but it still interferes.
Yes, you need to use Super Sume: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=darkslide.com.supersumepro
