I accidently wiped and formatted my directories sdcard data and system. After that when I started my phone only the logo appeared.
I managed to get CWM on it. Becuase there is no data on it I can't install the Rom from my phone directories. When I choose install with sideload this doesn't work because adb sideload says "device not found"
The phone only boots in fastboot and in CWM Recovery. All correct adb drivers are installed.
What can I do to:
a)Install Rom via adb sideload?
b)Copy Rom.zip to my phone to install it with Recovery?
c)use another way to install the custom rom?

That would be c) Use Flashtool and flash, ofcourse in flashmode a new ROM. Make a clean install. Best choice.
Here's the TUTORIAL : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240614
P.S. Flashtool will work with your phone too, so use it without worries.
Thank you very much. This tutorial requires the Stock Rom for my Xperia S, the only link I found with the German Stock Rom was from uploaded and i accidently broke up the download and I don't want to wait until I can download again.
a) Can I use this Rom, since it is a modified version of the Stock Rom? - Where in the zip is the tft I need?
b) Where else can I get the Stock Xperia S Rom?
Use this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2320184
And you can find all the useful information in that link, about the ftf and all.

Hi.
I'm trying to unlock my bootloader on Xperia S in order to flash CM11 ROM.
I followed this website: unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions and I'm stuck at #9.
Download and unzip this file. This is the standard android_winusb.inf-file, with a few lines of code added to enable Fastboot to support Sony and Sony Ericsson devices. Make sure you are running Google USB Driver package revision 4 or higher in your Android SDK. You can see current Google USB Driver package revision in the SDK Manager.

As I'm using MAC, I don't have Google USB Driver and website doesn't mention anything for MAC users.
I can't fastboot my phone. :crying:
Please help.

Yes, I managed to download android SDK and everything except the Google USB Driver, because it doesn't exist on MAC.
Anyway, I managed to solve my own problem using a FlashTool here: flashtool.net/download.php
Now my problem is solved. The bootloader is finally unlocked!! :victory:
My next problem: I would like to flash CM11 KitKat. Is there a step-by-step guide?
I found some threads in the development section on what to download etc etc, but it doesn't tell me how to install or run it.
I'm an absolute noob at this.

I'm afraid that's a bit too advanced for me. Do you have a link to a step-by-step guide (preferably for MAC)?
Do I still need to install a recovery, since my phone data is already gone while unlocking the bootloader?
How do I flash the ROM on Xperia S? Is there a guide for this?
edit: I wanted to install this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2555243 but I don't know how. I downloaded the .zip file. What's next?

Try reinstalling the recovery, don't know I would recommend you to use doomlord's guides bro U can't fail
To flash the rom, go to recovery / install zip/ install zip from sdcard0 , select and flash it , don't forget to do a factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache which is in advanced option in recovery

Well if you have access to your recovery you should be able to mount your SD card there and then connect it to your PC. From there you can transfer a zip file to your phone and flash it.
I don't see anything mentioned about which custom recovery he flashed.
Could this be a stock recovery that he is in? (that may not allow mounting etc.)

I think a little more studying should have been done before flashing things. Now that we know you can get into CWM Recovery, you can flash a custom ROM. Note that doing so will involve wiping your data/cache/system - so whatever apps you were using on your phone will be gone (along with the data for each app, like your preferences etc.)
And since your bootloader is unlocked, you can flash pretty much any ROM you like because the unlocked bootloader allows custom kernels to be flashed.
As an example, you can flash SlimKat. It is a custom ROM with a custom kernel. The page is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2700456. You can find the download links in post #3. There will be a ZIP file for the ROM, and then optionally, another ZIP for the Google Apps (aka GAPPS), which would allow you to sign in to your Google account, use Play Store, etc. SlimKat offers 3 gapps (which I will link here because the GAPPS link on that thread seems to take me to a login page): They have mini, normal, and full. Take your pick..
http://www.slimroms.net/index.php/downloads/dlsearch/viewcategory/1150-addons4-4
Once you've downloaded them, copy the Slimkat ZIP to your external SD card. Also copy the GAPPS zip that you chose (if you wanted that).
Put the external card back into the phone and power it up, and get back into recovery like you did earlier. In recovery, before flashing the zips, you should do your wipes (this is where it wipes your apps/data/system). But as a precaution, maybe go into "install zip from sdcard", navigate through your external card to make sure the ZIP files are available to you.
I think that most ROM install zips take care of these wipes for you, but it's a good habit to get into when flashing custom ROMs.
You're going to:
1) Wipe data/factory reset (this will wipe the data and cache)
2) Go into Advanced and wipe Dalvik cache
3) Go into Mounts and Storage and format /system
Once that's done, you're going to go to "install zip from sdcard", choose your external card, and choose the SlimKat ZIP. That will flash the ROM and kernel. Once that's done, you're going to do one more flash - which is the GAPPS zip (if you decided that you wanted it).
Once that flash is done, you should be able to just reboot and the phone will start to boot into the new ROM. Note that on first boot, it will take some time - so you may be staring at the boot animation for a few minutes.

When you say you want to root, it means that you want to root the current system that you are on. But from what you have described in this thread, you are currently having a problem with your phone, where it does not boot normally into the system/ROM. You boot straight into Clockworkmod Recovery, every time. Correct? If this is correct, then rooting your current ROM probably won't help your situation (because you are not able to boot normally into the system).
Slimkat is a ROM that has root access included. I believe that pretty much any custom rom has root included. I'm not sure what you mean when you say that slimkat does not support your Z1 compact. You should be able to flash Slimkat to your Z1 Compact. The link from my previous post points to the Slimkat thread, which is in the Z1 Compact Original Android Development forum, so it is made for Z1 Compact.
That said, you don't need to choose Slimkat - I provided that just as an example of a custom rom that has a custom kernel included. Look through the Xperia Z1 Compact Original Android Development forum for custom roms that use custom kernels. Most of those roms have the custom kernel included in their ZIP. Whichever custom rom you choose, make sure to READ the original post (and other posts if necessary) to get the information you need on how to install it, or to find out what files you will need for that ROM (as some roms have add-ons and stuff you may find interesting).
There are also ROMs that are stock-based. Those can be found in the Xperia Z1 Compact Android Development forum. These roms also have root included, and are built to run on the standard stock Sony kernel. Some of them may be based on a specific stock Sony kernel version, so pay attention to that.
If you want to start over, and flash a pure stock Sony ROM to your phone (also known as an FTF), you can do that at any time by downloading an appropriate FTF for your phone, and flashing it by loading the FTF with FlashTool. It will then ask you to put your phone into FlashMode (which is done by making sure the phone is OFF, then holding the VolDown button, and connecting the USB cable while still holding the VolDown button. Once the flash begins, you can let go of the VolDown button) But !! Please note that if you haven't used FlashTool before, you will need to install some drivers. They are included with FlashTool, in a folder called Drivers. You would choose the driver specific to your phone, plus the FlashMode driver, plus the Fastboot driver. If you are using Windows8, you will have to do some extra work to get those drivers to install correctly. It involves booting Win8 into a mode where Driver Signature Enforcement is disabled, then installing the drivers found in the drivers folder of FlashTool. You can easily find out how to do that by searching online.
Hope this helps... don't make any risky flashing moves if you aren't certain about them - just keep reading and searching and you will eventually find the answers you need.

now you in twrp
Only working Root method:
I had tried many method, only KingRoot works.
Ps:
You might require a second try for a success root, and you "might" lost root access after restart.
How to flash a 3rd party recovery (after rooted)
$ su
# dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p25
assuming your recovery block is the same as mine, or try:
# dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
# reboot recovery
Ps:
Since I really dislike the root manager bundled with KingRoot, thus repeated some of the above steps to get clean system with TWRP+SuperSU.

Dead Links.
Your dropbox link is dead. Please fix. Also, by chance do you have a system.img for the Z220? KingRoot modified my install-recovery.sh and now I cannot OTA update. TIA!
Does anyone have a link for the TWRP? I really need it right now.

does anyone have cwm or twrp acer z220
Root it by kingroot. Change it with SuperSU . ( google kingroot to SuperSU) . The one in used terminal emulator. Now u have SuperSU installed
For custom recovery, i can't help u . However , u can use flashfire to flash xposed framework. Download xposed framework , and flash the zip file ( exposed framework) with flashfire. Don't check auto mount , just proceed . After that , scroll down to everRoot option, and check all box inside it. After u done , flash. Last , install xposed installer. and voila!
My advice : don't use xposed framework if u don't know what you are doing . If something gone wrong , reflash ur Acer with a stock ROM ( u can get it from S4trio blog )
Keep in mind that flashfire only working with SuperSU.
The TWRP image is gone (404), does anyone else have a copy?

How did you get a rooted ftf? I think that might be the problem. Unless you mean a prf... Best way to root KK is just flash stock ROM and use doomlord rootkit.

Are you using Flashtool or recovery? If you can get into recovery, just use 'wipe' option.

If you want to be on 4.4, use Flashtool and flash a stock 4.4 ftf, then root with Doomlord. If you want to be on LP, use Emma, it will download and flash firmware for you.
Flashtool - http://www.flashtool.net/index.php

When you flash with Flashtool, there is a box that says 'wipe'. Check the 'userdata' option.

When i do it like here with doom: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2620794
i cant boot after booting the boot.img

Did you unlock bootloader? KK version 442 or 443? Add debugging enabled in settings? If all yes, I'm not sure why it wouldn't work. You could try different options, there are a few for KK - pimped kernel, Great devs kernel, and you could root with easy rootkit.
BTW - to restore your phone without flashing whole ROM again, check boxes under 'exclude' options for everything but kernel.

Do you have root access when you turn on the phone? Did you make sure USB debugging is enable in settings, and also check 'allow USB debugging' pop-up when you connect to computer? If yes to all, just restart computer and/or phone, and reconnect and try again. XZDR is solid. If you have root, it will work. BTW - is bootloader unlocked or locked?

Bootloader unlocked: Yes
Rooting status: "here is nothing" i guess not
i restared everything still not work but i guess its because i dont get the root acces thats my main problem when should i have got it ?
Another Idea: When i install the EasyRootTool v12.4 it ends with "creating vm <loljavasucks>" is that what it supposed to write when its finished? When i keep that Easyroot window open and start the dual recovery installation, the easyroot tells me "done, checking if device is rooted... error: its not"
So i guess the problem is that i still not rooted my device but i thought that is what i am actually trying to do with easyroot..?

Ok, try this - download this zip https://mega.nz/#!lh9i0AYI!iH3Vw5keSNo66CHvq3c6V9HMCWAWJ5FIYcZZ35U254g It contains 2 files, one is a kernel and one is a recovery. Also download supersu 246 zip from here https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip?retrieve_file=1 and put it on your phone somewhere. Then connect in fastboot mode and flash the 2 IMG files:
'fastboot flash boot [name of kernel file].img'
'fastboot flash recovery [name of recovery file].img'
Then unplug and power on. When you see colored led, press volume key and you should get into recovery. When in recovery, flash supersu zip. Then power off, and connect in flash mode. Open Flashtool and flash the stock kernel from your ftf. Reboot and you should be rooted.
Thanks that worked! And now i flash the 4.4 stockrom and after that a prerooted version?

You can flash whatever you want now. If you want stock 5.1, you can use Flashtool / Xperifirm to download ftf and flash, or use Emma. You will lose root, but you can get it back the same way you just did. If you want to root 5.1 that way, you can extract boot img from advanced kernel and download latest twrp img, and just fastboot those, and no need to reflash stock kernel afterwards.
Advanced kernel - https://forum.xda-developers.com/so...rnel-advanced-14-5-0-242-kernel-v1-0-t3096060
Twrp 3 for Z1c - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862711713
Alternately, you could flash a prf, or any custom ROM you want
