BlinkFeed is an HTC exclusive with Sense. I came from the M8 myself and I miss BlinkFeed. I found a decent alternative with FlipBoard. Give that a shot, I am enjoying it.

Which apk? Im running it fine on the G4 and a nexus 6. Did you install the 1st 4 APK's on the list?
I added a few pics of the homescreen, app drawer and blinkfeed just to show.
Working fine here.....best of both worlds now
So I installed everything from page one post #1 on the XDA link up there. Everything is working fine. Good thing about it is at any time I can go to settings>home screen, and switch back to either sense home or lg's home launcher with everything the same as I left it. Best thing ever!!!

Swipe up on the home button and it brings up Google now!!! Here are the screen shots

Do you need to run blinkfeed to run this? Would I be able to disable blinkfeed, and just run the sense launcher and app drawer?

is it possible to use more than 4 icons in the dock?
I got everything to install but Blinkfeed. All it says is "Application Not Installed" So frustrating! you must have installed before the ZV5 update or something.

Ok, I have noticed on some alternative launchers (like launcher pro for example) if you drag an icon onto the "desktop" from the app drawer and hold it on top of the trash for a few seconds, it will prompt you to uninstall the app.....
Is there any way of getting this implemented into some of the custom roms around here? or is there something I could install as an "update.zip" to acquire this ability? I like the stock sense launcher so I don't really want to install and alternative launcher for this.....surely there is a way!

does it do what I requested? I've never heard of it....I'll have to look into it, thanks!
It's an app you click into it lists all installed apps so you can uninstall easily its not the same thing but its easier uninstalls

I'll pass then....if I'm gonna do that then I'll just go into the built in manager apps and uninstall it.
Thanks anyway!
Like I said, it is a feature that I like about launcher pro, but I don't want to install a different launcher JUST for that feature. Oh well, I'll just deal with the normal process!

Not sure but if you could figure out what the intent is to call rosie (sense app drawer) then you could possibly create a LauncherPro shortcut to open it? Any smali gods out there know if this would be possible?

That's pretty much exactly what I am doing. I use Apex Launcher as my launcher, but I have a shortcut created by xShortcuts that launches Rosie for the photo widget. Unfortunately, I don't think you can call a specific screen - you can only call the launcher itself.

Yup that's the way it is possible but man that's pretty much time you loose by opening sense just for having these sense widgets.
And you have 2 launchers running then since sense will be only killed when you reboot again.
Dunno for what you want that sense widgets but I would look at play store and see if there is a alternative widget which maybe has even a themeable skin?!

Well my last tip for you is launcher pro.
There has been a launcher pro which was skinned like sense. But dunno if it had that widget...
There was a Rom for the hd2 that's why I know that one.

Hi I don't know if it was asked before but I would really like to see a Blinkfeed Widget. I used the "Blinkfeed App" Mod a bit and thought it would be great if I could put Blinkfeed at a Page and look it up from there. I don't know how possible this is so please don't hate me... I'm no developer. It's just an idea I thought may be good

Hate to stomp on your idea but it's not gonna happen unless HTC makes it.
They haven't even figured out how to disable it, so making it a standalone widget would be much more difficult

With "they" he refers to the rom developers/chefs.
And indeed they Blinkfeed cannot be removed (YET)
Some devlopers are actually trying to remove it (I heard team venom had it partially removed)
Though none have been completely succesfull yet..
For now all we can do is wait.
There is however a way not to use the blinkfeed as your homescreen in every sense rom.. just pinch out and select any other screen you want as a homescreen, then pull it to the "" set as homescreen" text and release
This effectively makes the other scren your sense homescreen and makes your blinkfeed seem like a widget..
There is already a blinkfeed widget, it's stuck on the left page though.

Try Pulse it has a widget, closest you can get.
I tried the other method on xda and notice that Google now was freezing up on voice command. Here is the method that got it fully working on my Verizon Galaxy Note 3
1. Download and extract the two files.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/j8h0siy229ixsni/4.4 launcher.zip
2. Install both apk files
3. Enjoy
Update: If you are having trouble getting the "Ok Google" voice activation to work, here is something to try.
1. In the Google launcher, go into settings > voice > offline speech recognition.
It may say there are no language packages installed, but in reality, it just needs to be updated. It seems to be buggy, but this is how I got it updated.
2. Select the "all" tab.
3. Install the English (us) package if it will let you.
If it doesn't, download English (UK), select the "installed" tab, and the us package should now show up as installed. To make sure the English (us) is updated, simply uninstall and download it again.
Once this is updated, you should be able to press the home button and see "OK Google" in the Google now search bar. Hope this helps!
Does this include Google now on the home screen like on the Nexus 5?

If you move an icon or widget to the next screen, it will add a screen. To have additional screens, you have to have something on it. If they are blank, they are deleted.

I certainly see this being a love/hate thing. I like more control of my launcher, so I am sticking with Nova. I do like the swipe to Google Now and the "Ok Google" options, though. I setup a gesture in Nova for Google Now, but don't know of any solutions for the "Ok Google" option. I would LOVE to be able to get the "Ok Google" to work with the phone on or off.
I like this launcher, it does run very smooth but I ended up going back to Nova. I like a little more customization with my launcher and Nova Prime gives me everything I could need and more. It is still a nice launcher though, to bad it doesn't have some more options.
Love it. Had some problems with it crashing or google search crashing randomly so I tried some of the version on the market which are quite good. Some little stability fixes for devices and such but for the most part 100% AOSP.
I was able to install this on my note 3, but I wasn't able to install the 2nd APK. Also, the notification bubbles no longer show up on my email, messages, Facebook, etc..... Does anyone know what could be wrong? I am not rooted.
Notification bubbles are a touchwiz feature that's why they don't show up

I am typically a big Nova Prime Launcher guy. But trying a launcher on this M8 didn't feel right for some reason. It took away the beauty of the One or something.
I am running a custom ROM with tweaks, as well as Sense 6 Alpha toolbox xposed framework.
But think I'll hold off on a launcher for awhile, and enjoy Sense.
Anyone else ?

I thought the same thing, was a adw ex user on my evo. Probably won't use a launcher until I get sick of sense when cm variations come into the game with stability.

I don't enjoy really anything about sense. Using the Google now launcher.
How do I install the Google Now Launcher ? When I look it up, says my device is not compatible.

So far I'm sticking with the stock Sense, but will likely go back to using Apex at some point.

I completely agree about wanting to use sense...the issues for me are:
-hard to back up and restore the homescreen for sense
-not as many customization and gestures
-doesnt show notifications on custom apps like nova does.
I do think that sense has really upped their game in design
Using apex with a shortcut to blinkfeed. Like it a lot.

Sense is a lot better than some of the other OEM options, but still the first thing I installed when I got my One was Nova Prime. I've just gotten so used to all of the customisations I can (and want to) do with Nova that the experience without it just feels off.
For starters, I lose my swipe/tap gestures on the homescreen which I've now developed muscle memory for.

It's not hard to backup and restore the homescreens for sense. I use titanium backup for that and backup BlinkFeed (homescreens). This will backup your homescreens the way you have them.

I used Nova Prime on my EVO 4G LTE and EVO 3D before that... but am still using Sense 6 on my M8. Although I absolutely love Nova and got really comfortable with all the gestures and other customizations I had set up, I decided I'd run Sense 6 until I get bored of it. Another thing is that I actually like the Sense widgets and was always a bit bummed that I had to download alternatives to use in Nova.
Used the Google experience launcher on note 3 but haven't felt the need with the m8
