Install Canadian stock on UK tab s? - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I'm getting impatient waiting for lollipop to be released in the UK for my tab s 10.5 wifi.
Is it safe to install the official Canada rom via Orin?
It's the only one I see which may be in English!
Thank you

Yes I did it on my UK T800 and it is working just fine.

Just install the french one to be safe.
I installed the french one and I'm in UK, language stayed English didn't change to french.
I tried installing US and Canadian but it failed on hidden, it didn't do that with the french version, possibly cause it's eu aswell.

[Q] Stock ROMs and country?

What is the difference between the countries in the stock ROMs?
My wife and I both bought the N7100. Mine was Hungarian, hers French (according to the manuals). But both are working fine in The Netherlands with the language set to Dutch.
She's gotten the update to 1.4.2 (non-rooted ) and it seems to be French still (N7100XXDLL4 N7100OXADLL4).
Can I put any ROM on my (rooted) phone (N7100XXALJ1 N7100OXXALJ1), or do I need to get one from the same region?

You can install any region firmware, though you may get a slight difference in signal strength apparently. Though if your wife is already using the French and she has no issues, go for it
Thanks.
I'll try that one.
That is, if the download is working
The modem is the main difference (if any) ... which you can always flash from a stock rom from your actual region over the other region's rom (if required)
Hi,
I have the same question regarding this issue.
Recently my mother bought me a Note2 as a gift in Singapore.
Once I started using it, I found stock app like Singtel which is the telco in singapore, But I have no use of it.
I am currently reside in Brunei. I wish to flash everything stock without any telco apps. How should i do it?>
Thank you.
Download unbranded ROM from here (like Indian ROM) and flash
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1896696
If you just want to remove some application only without flashing ROM, you can use system appl remover(needs root)
French ROM is installed with mobile ODIN and it seems to work perfectly.
The phone felt laggish, but it's getting better.
Only those damn *HUBs that came with the ROM...

LG E975 German ROM

Dear Forum,
Last week I bought a new E975 in Singapore. Unfortunately the mobile was branded by Singapore Starhub and had no European languages except English, of course.
The ROM was a JB 4.1.2, E97510f.
After some research I was able to install successfully the European E97510b. So far so good.
Here my questions, I hope somebody has an answer
- Is there a chance to have a European ROM on this device, which supports OTA updates? Now it says "This device is not registered". If I use the LG utility it will update to to the original branded Singapore ROM :'(
- Can the ROM be rooted?
- what are the differences hidden in the last letter of the ROM name? E.g. A, B, ...F
Thanks in advance.

Where did you find the German rom and how did you installed it?
Not sure how LG checks for OTA eligibility. If it is by imei and serial number, then no. But if it is just based on build prop then you should be able to get OTA.
LG Optimus G E971/3/5
Not really recommended doing OTA if you flash a different rom. But since its still E975 it might work. But if you do, backup before incase it goes south.
As for rooting, use the ZV9-ZVB-Root.zip found in sprint forum root thread, it works for 10b.
The letters are just release numbers higher letter the later version.
AW: LG E975 German ROM
I used the KDZ tool and for the rom i found it on Google but there are also links here in Forum.

Hi good people of XDA,
I bought my Galaxy Note 2 in the UK but the firmware does not support the handwriting recognition in Czech language /unlike Notes 2 sold in Czech Republic/. I found the official Czech firmware online but am not sure if it's safe to flash onto the UK model? Obviously dont want to end up with a brick. Any ideas? Thank so much!
You can safely flash roms of any country.

On this web they suggest its not advisable: http://www.geekyandroid.com/2012/10...e-download-jelly-bean-4.1.1.html#comment-form
IMP : It is assumed that you are sound enough to not flash a rom that is not for your device. Ex, flashing German rom on US device.

No no. If you have n7100 then you can flash any rom for n7100.
Us devices are different than international version.

As long as you flash a ROM of the same phone model. Sometimes countries have sppecial model just for them. For example China have the N7108 which is only for China Mobile.
But if the phone is N7100 there is no problem.

[Q] Changing CSC code to BTU.

Hello from a newbie & sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but I can't seem to find it anywhere for the 2014 edition.
I've bought a 32Gb LTE Note 10.1 2014 edition from Hong Kong and needless to say it comes with a heavily biased Chinese version of the operating system, now having read other fora, I have managed to understand how to flash the device using Odin, however I was after a UK (BTU) version of the rom, but what I have got is the Spanish one.
OK, I have no problem with it as I have changed all of the settings to use UK English, but I am looking for a way to change the CSC code to from PHE (Spanish) to BTU (UK) so that I can get any firmware updates for it.
The one thing I want to do is keep it as near to stock condition as possible, namely I don't want to root it (is that what it's called?).
Can someone please advise me how to do this please.
Thanks.
If you know how to flash the thing, just get a Spanish firmware from sammy mobile and flash it
I've also ordered a 605 from HK. I intend to flash this firmware.
I bought the P605 from Germany and it is unlocked but T Mobile branded. Can I flash the UK firmware ?
Thanks,
Halldor

@Ben81.
That despite it saying it's a BTU firmware isn't. It's the one I downloaded and is the Spanish one (PHE), I really do wish that those who provide these firmwares ensure that when they say it's from the UK it IS from the UK and when you do the flash it gives you the correct CSC code, when you plug it into Kies.
Thanks for the info. Will probably still flash that as it'll be better than the Chinese one!
EDIT: Installed it and can confirm it gives a PHE code.

[Q] What with the non english versions give me

Hi I have a P605 device and am keen to move it to Kitkat but my service provider (in South Africa) always seems to be last to get the latet firmwares.
I see that for my device the Tiawan, Hong Kong and Finland versions are out. My question is what will flashing these versions change? Does the language change automatically?
Thanks in advance
I am also from South Africa and I flashed the Hong Kong version. When the rom starts up, just change the language in the wizard to English South Africa.
Everything is working fine for me but I do not phone with my tabet.
I hope this helps.
