Let's be honest, LG's emojis are terrible. And they show up in browsers, notification bars, and the keyboard. Does anyone know how to change them to stock emojis without root? I would love if anyone knows how to do this.

I'm with you on this. Their emojis are not easy on the eyes. If anyone has a solution let us know!
Seeing those ugly emojis broke my heart when I finally bought the phone during my lunch break. I miss my Google blob emojis.
Anyways, looks like there is a fix. Requires root though. Found an XDA thread where someone outlined how to swap emojis on the G3. Should be the same process for the G4.

the touchwiz mms app already has emoji but they are only black and white like regular text. I would love to have color emoji as well but I don't know how to do this. Also I used that app for a while on stock rom and started getting fc's after a while not sure if it was the app's fault or mine.
This is based off iNate71's Mms at Rootzwiki. It has Quick Message, new message popup window and emoji support. I just redid them to be transparent and black. I also edited all the hard coded colors in layout.xmls and moved them to colors.xml for easy changing.
I couldn't take the white in the default app anymore. This will only look good with a dark wallpaper.
You'll need a root file explorer..I prefer root explorer from the market.
First rename Unimessagebin.apk to apk.bak and then do the same with Unimessagebin.odex.
Now that you have
Unimessagebin.apk.bak and
Unimessagebin.odex.bak
Copy over this Mms-trans.apk or Mms-black.apk and set the correct permissions then reboot.
Viola you now have a transparent or black AOSP MMS app..
saved..downlaod link added
Nice it does look alot better

Those look like mixer images from that screeny.
Cool you're using the theme..

Everything works. Let me know how the inverted one is.
Links updated in the OP. Now transparent and black versions with quick reply, new message popup and emoji support.

so far i find it pretty gorgeous. if u say everything works then i think i just found my text app that i'm gonna be using for the foreseeable future (at least till we can get this bootloader unlocked and see what kinda roms we can get going...even then might sub your's in still haha) i like the icon u used, instead of the flat blue one, kind of a glass look to it, and i like the smiley's it uses (the round ones instead of the droid head ones for my friends that dont have emojis) i appreciate the effort greatly...my only real gripe left with the phone so far is no good ir remote apps...if only logitech would let u put their harmony software on ur phone without their adapters and use it with the IR instead of doing it over bluetooth/wifi to an expensive adapter...quickremote doesnt have as much functionality as i would like (like my harmony but always having to charge it haha)
I don't think MMS works..I can receive fine but mine crashes when trying to send a MMS..
May need to go back to old version.
yeah, ran into the same problem. receives no problem but wont send...still crashes. any idea y it does that?

Not at all..I thought it was because of image size limits but I changed those and it still crashes..
I did find a topic on how to get aosp MMS working on the s4 and there is a chance the method will work for us also but I haven't had time to update.
The old version I have does have working MMS both ways so I will update the apks later today but it doesn't have quick reply.
I'll make an inverted one off that base to you also.

Yes hi, I hope someone can help me with this, but, well, I use my tablet for writing a good amount of the time, but the only keyboard that has everything I need, which honestly is just sad, you'd think more would have it all.
Anyway, the only keyboard that has everything is the Samsung Keyboard that comes default in the SM-P900 firmware.
But I really want to change to CM13 because all this bloatware is seriously draining the battery, and the last time I tried to debloat the tablet myself I basically soft bricked it.
But changing to CM13 gets rid of the Samsung Keyboard. So I was hoping someone could tell me how I can reinstall it? Is there an apk someone's made out there, or is there a way I can make the samsungime file into an apk that actually works? I'm pretty much desperate here, cause every other keyboard I've tried, including Hackers Keyboard just doesn't fit.

if you send me a link to of your rom zip, I will debloat the zip and send it back to you.
as far as my experience, the samsung keyboard is reliant on samsung framework ex won't work on non samsung roms

I'm using the Samsung keyboard with Resurrection Rom with mostly success. The recents key and the screen off/lock toggle doesn't turn off the screen when you put the tablet face down on the keyboard (case mode?)
There may be a way to remap them but I haven't found it yet.

I misread your original post, I thought you were talking about the hardware keyboard case.
Now I have Lineages 14.1 on Note Pro 12 P900.
What can I do to be able to install and use Samsung Keyboard?
So I have been in this modding android game for quite some time since I had an LG G3 and then I moved over to the Nexus 6 for about 2 years and some of these custom roms are just awesome but one thing I cannot get rid of properly are the inbuilt AOSP apps..
on the Nexus 6 a few years back somebody made a flashable zip that got rid of all of them and the boot animation but then fixed the boot animation being deleted and unfortunately time to change technology has changed and that doesn't work on this phone obviously.
I have tried using the magisk debloater and it just a little too complicated for me because I don't like having two of the same apps one being Google the other being AOSP and any other gaps package I flash besides the razorlove gapps fail when flashing a custom ROM..
I've tried using opengapps and I thought when flashing that package the AOSP apps get replaced with the Google version of them.
Would anybody mind listing what AOSP apps I can remove completely and I apologize if it's already on the thread but I didn't really see anything or maybe I just wasn't looking in the right place but can you guys help me out? I really like the RR ROM but the AOSP apps just bothered the hell out of me. I've tried using titanium to completely remove some of them like the AOSP Keyboard but it doesn't fully remove them and I don't want to go into the files that I don't know about and screw up my phone..
So right now I'm on stock and the limitations kind of suck so if anybody could you know help me out listing a method that they use to get rid of them that actually works or listing the ones that I can remove and what program I can use to remove them I do not want to disable them I want to remove them... Or because I know how to use Linux and what not you know maybe somebody could show me how to make a flashable zip that will remove them and I will gladly share it to the community but I'm looking for anything that helps.
It would be greatly appreciated!

You do realize that AOSP is not a single project like some rom developers, right? If someone publishes an "AOSP" rom, that doesn't mean that they are following some kind of standards or rules.

Well obviously but what I'm saying is pretty much every ROM that I flash seems to have the built-in apps that are AOSP based or maybe I'm not saying it right but basically every ROM that I've tried (dirty unicorns, Resurrection Remix, carbon, dotOS, sudomod,) all have built-in AOSP Keyboard AOSP phone AOSP calendar AOSP email **** like that and that's what I want to remove

A piece of advice. Get rid of your Pixel as soon as you can. It's a bug testing platform for Google. Samsung, HTC, LG, Oneplus take buggy Google code and refine it. Google doesn't bother.
I only keep this $960 piece of **** (which is now worth less that $300) because I have no other alternative at the moment. As soon as I can dump it for a real a phone, I will.
I'm good thanks I do my research before I buy my phones and I will never buy another Samsung again and dumping my phone is not an option right now if it was I get me the Rog phone from Asus that thing is a beast

I used an S9 for a little while when I was setting it up for a friend. It's a marvelous phone. I have owned multiple HTC flagships in the past, and they were stellar. I have heard that LG and Oneplus were excellent. My last phone before Pixel XL was Note 7, which was absolutely amazing, one of a kind. This pos Pixel XL has been nothing but bug ridden nightmare. The only reason why I keep it around is because of Project FI. It's because it's cheap. Goddamn $960 nightmare on top of that.
Also, please use punctuation next time. Not using it seems like an insult, but maybe that's just me.
I like my pixel XL. No bugs here.

Click on my profile and find new threads started by me in this subforum.
I believe every single new thread was me complaining about one bug or another.
The biggest one that is always on my mind though, and which is almost a deal breaker, was introduced by Google in the 7.0.2 update. And they still haven't fixed it, but all other manufacturers have - I know for a fact that this bug was fixed in Oreo by Samsung and Oneplus.
It's where you wear a smartwatch which can make and receive phone calls, such as my beautiful Huawei Watch with a gorgeous custom band, and then you get inside your car with a bluetooth hands-free car kit, or just a bluetooth headset, which then improperly connects to the phone as "Connected (no phone)." So you cannot use it. If you don't wear a watch, then everything works fine with a kit or bt headset. This is the reason why I don't wear my beautiful watch anymore. Google needs to fire their bluetooth stack programmer.

My bad. I use speech to text a lot and I don't like using punctuation when speaking. It causes some bad habits.
Update though, upon doing further research making a flashable zip is complicated but I should have it all figured out by the end of the week and I'm not really having any bugs with the AOSP apps I just don't like looking in my app drawer and seeing there's duplicates and I really don't want to manually hide all of them each time I flash a ROM or something and do a backup.
On a side note I just found a Chrome extension that allows speech to text and is very good with no ads. If you're like me and you use your voice more than you use your keyboard, look up voice in voice typing under Chrome extensions pretty damn simple.

A friend of mine made a script specifically for what you are trying to do, granted, it's for a different device and older version of Android. Some small modification should be all it needs to suit your purpose, if nothing else, it may contain some useful information.

You are completely fine. I'm shocked how nice people are on here LOL usually people are just mean and think they have the right answer and I have to accept it no matter what and I just don't like people who are so full of themselves so thank you.
I've been trying to research this but I was supposed to have surgery today and I was getting ready for that and unfortunately it was cancelled without my knowledge so that was pretty stressful and now I have to start the whole process over again because the doctors I was going to go to no longer accept my insurance and nobody told me so I'm still going to work on this it's just going to be a little bit of a process.

As a side note, I am now in the same boat as you. I have a Oneplus 6 now, silk white, which is gorgeous. But it has double apps like yours - 2 calendars, 2 calculators, 2 message apps, 2 clock apps etc. I don't even really know which ones are Google and which ones are Oneplus - I think the round icons are Google, but rectangular icons are Oneplus. Plus I don't know which apps are better. I think that I will use some of them for a while and disable the least appealing ones.
There are only a handful, and maybe that's what you can do? Just disable? If you cannot disable from the main Android interface, you can do it from adb. There are commands that can disable and enable app packages from adb.
Hey guys I'm sorry it's been awhile since I've kept up with you guys. So a little side note
I have started this project it is my very first project on my GitHub.
But my problem is I have no idea how to even start this I mean I tried using the flashable zip creator and it pulled the system apps but I'm at a loss here any help would be greatly appreciated..

Well, that's the question. I'm gathering some credits trough Google Rewards and i'm pretty interested in buying the Substratum extension made for Android Oreo. But first i want to know if someone has tried the app in this phone to avoid some useless purchase. Something that i miss from my old Moto X Style is the customization. I could root this thing to do it without any plugin but so far i'm not interested in rooting and all that.

I think if You dont wanna root Your phone You should buy Andromeda rootless backend - support devs, because it works.
I'm currenly using the Andromeda... It does work but with some errors n doesn't work well with all themes...
I've got something to show..
Thanks guys. I'll buy it anytime soon then.
I have been using it on 0.8 Verizon edition with no probs, sais oreo theme is a pretty good dark theme.
I am using it. Everything was working until the most recent security update for oreo. Although it may have been me updating my theme, which i did after the security update.
I can't stand all the ads on this phone. Ugh.
I use it with stock Oreo 8.0.0. No issues.
Black theme (forgot the name but it is the most popular one) is nice for the notification bar and settings menu.
Which theme is that?

I am currently using a pitch black theme that is called Sai's Oreo Theme: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=baka.sai.oreo&hl=en
I`ve been using Default Dark from F-Droid. Basically switches the Phones/Contacts/Settings/QSettings etc to dark.
The app has one annoyance to it cause you got to connect the phone to the pc if you want to use substratum.
The good stuff is that applied theme survives reboot, so it`s not so bad in the end.
