[Q] LG G4 (F500-L) on T-mobile? - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I currently have a Korean variant (F500-L). I have seen a couple of these for sale on swappa and both posts say that this phone will work with T-mobile LTE. However, when I've popped in my SIM, I only get 3G. Does anyone else have any experience with this variant on T-mobile? If you were able to get it to work on LTE, how did you do it?

Enter APN settings for T-Mobile. Google that. Just popping in the sim won't give lte.

i have the same issue.. the APN settings seem to be correct.. but it only shows 3G. Model is F500-L

same here i need help too mine is a f500s lg g4 skt version thanks

Far as I know, phone must support LTE Band 2 and 4 to work on T-Mobile 4G network.
But F500(Korean ver. of G4) doesn't support LTE Band 2 and 4. It supports LTE band 1,3,5 and 7. Therefore a phone will only work under 3G network.

[Q] G Pro (F240S Korean Version) only gets 3G at AT&T

Hello,
I have 2 questions,
1. I currently have AT&T Gophone LTE plan. I know G Pro supports LTE and I used LTE network with this phone in South Korea. But with AT&T, it only gets 3G. I know F240S supports LTE band 5 (850Mhz) and AT&T also supports band 5. I even accessed the service menu and changed some settings but nothing changes.
2. I have a Sprint account with Unlimited LTE data plan. I heard G pro has multiple versions but the hardware of them is basically same, which means it supports both GSM and CDMA? So maybe I can use my G pro at Sprint? I went to the Sprint store and the Sprint guy told me the device supports CDMA but its ESN number is not registered on Sprint system so it cannot be used with Sprint. Is there any way to use sprint plan?
Thanks

AT&T LTE

I have the North American 64gb Zenfone 2. I use AT&T's Share plan and I registered my phone in AT&T's system and it refuses to give me LTE. AT&T claims LTE is enabled on my sim but it doesn't work. When I pop in my brother's sim from an AT&T locked device I get LTE. I do not have any other AT&T locked devices in my house as I recently switched. Can anyone help please??
I am having the same kind of situation with Cricket which is owned by AT&T. My SIM had LTE with my LG Optimus G Pro but only 4G with my ZF2. It is the exact same SIM.
Im on straightalk i used a att sim with no issues on my NA asus zenfone 2, had perfect 4G(lte) signal on 06610.

If the indicater says "4g" that is LTE
OK, cool. My OGP showed LTE when it had the signal. I guess I was expecting the ZF2 to show the same.

Newbie, here - cannot post links.
Do a YouTube search for:

Hope this helps.

Visit your nearest AT&T store and get the rep to delete your ZF2's IMEI from their system. If they won't allow you to, borrow someone else's phone and **get another SIM card** from them. Modifying your APN settings won't help at this point.

I think the phone only shows 4g.. My Nexus 4 (wth LTE Radio) shows LTE..
I am also using Cricket and my phone shows 4G symbol, with speedtest.net I get the 8Mbps down (Cricket caps 4g at that).
When I popped in my t-mobile sim (from the Nexus 4) it also showed 4G symbol, but i would get 26-34Mbps down (which is the 4G/LTE speed)

T-Mobile on verizon lg g4?

So i have a iphone 6 plus and someone offered me a verizon unlocked lg g4. Tmobile is my carrier and i understand that the g4 is unlocked but i was wondering how would tmobile be like on the g4? Will LTE function normally ? Thanks
edit: nevermind was wrong
The Verizon G4 supports bands 2/4/13. Most of T-Mobile uses band 4 for LTE, and on recent 2G > LTE converted sites they typically use band 2, so yes I'd say it would work well. The one they are missing is band 12, so you won't get any of T-Mobile's low-band spectrum.
You will likely also get an invalid SIM warning on your phone, since it's not a Verizon SIM.
My Tmobile branded Iphone doesn't have band 12 either so will my service be the exact as I have it on my crapple 6 plus ?
Should be.

No actual LTE or 4G just 4G Showcase (Icon)

Hi everyone.
I'm using T-Mobile LG G3 D851 right now. I upgraded via OTA method few days ago. I noticed a bug or what I should say I don't know. LG G3 D850 have LTE feature. When I set network mode to AUTO GSM/WCDMA/LTE, it shows 4G when I turn on Mobile Data. I checked the About Phone section and also checked Network State. In network state, I always find Mobile network type showing HSPA or HSPAP. I never found LTE. I contacted my Service Provider. They informed me that you've an LTE SIM card and you have full LTE Signal Strength in your are. Please anyone tell me, why I'm not getting LTE?
At first I got kind of confused. The 4G icon indicates LTE on stock ROMs. HSPA, however, indicates 3G. Here's the deal, the G3 phones are not equal. The D851 is a T-Mobile GSM phone. The D850 is also GSM I believe but for AT&T. They support different bands. Even though the phones and your SIM is LTE capable, that doesn't mean they both work the same on a given network. You're in Pakistan on the Zomg network. The D851 can't take advantage of the services there.
Screenshots below show that the D851 can't do LTE there but the D850 can. It's always best to check the bands a carrier uses and compare them with what a phone supports. GSMArena is a good place to check that.
You might be out of luck with the D851. Not sure.
@iamqaisarkhan, here's a list showing the LTE bands supported between the two phones. D850 supports more bands including the one used by your carrier.

LG G710EAW on T-Mobile. Crossflash?

Hello all!
I have an LG G7 from India, model G710EAW. I moved to the US from Canada and the phone isn't entertaining T-Mobile or ATT SIM cards. When I insert them, service works for a little bit and then immediately switches to "Emergency calls only". T-Mobile's website says my phone IMEI is compatible with its service.
The strange thing is that the phone has two SIMs from Canada roaming - one on the T-Mobile network and another on ATT. No issues whatsoever. And when I check the bands in Engineering Mode, I can see one roaming SIM running on LTE Band-4 on T-Mobile. The other roaming SIM is switching between LTE Band-2 and LTE Band-5 on ATT.
T-Mobile uses bands 2,4,5 mainly, and ATT uses 2,4,5 among other bands. This leads me to believe it's some kind of a network restriction preventing my phone from latching onto these networks directly.
I've made tons of calls to T-Mobile and ATT so I'm no longer interested in pursuing them with this.
I'm wondering if cross-flashing a different firmware might help fix this issue. I remember reading on this subreddit that the Google FI firmware may work for T-Mobile bands. I'm not sure I understood that correctly.
Can someone confirm if that's possible? Does this make sense? I'm hesitant to buy a new replacement phone when my G7 works so well.
Thanks!
