I read some people got as high as 36 hours if ambient screen was off.
My moto 360 barely last a day. 10-11 hours max.
Anyone know the reason?
Thanks in advance
I do not have an answer, but I can confirm that I am easily getting through a day on one charge. I have had my Moto 360 for a couple weeks now. During the course of the day, I receive frequent emails from three different email accounts and receive frequent texts. I use it to reply to texts. I use it to control music playing on my phone. I also receive frequent Google cards. Yesterday morning, I took it off the charger at 8 a.m. When I put it back on the charger a little after midnight last night, it still had 60 percent.

As of last week, mine no longer lasts all day either. I don't know what has changed, except it seemed to come after the Android Wear app update that enabled Wi-Fi.

yeah, i'm losing ~10% an hour too . . .
not sure why. Ambient off.
Yup my battery used to be great now today it died at 6pm... hurry with the update Motorola!
Until your 360 gets the 5.1 update there is no WiFi communication between phone and watch. However, if you have the Cloud sync enabled in the settings in your Wear app on your phone it could be trying to sync with the 360 and draining its battery?

It's disabled. My battery is somewhat fine if not using the watch, but 2-3 min gaming on it drains like 10-15%.
I have 35-45% left after reaching home from my 9 hour shift.
I am happy with it as I am not using it at home.
I put it to charge on reaching home. Take it from the charger at 100%. Switch off and turn on by morning.
If I don't turn it off by night, the charge will be 85% by morning.
I have also noticed considerable drain lately. It is not every day, but increasing frequency. Cloud sync is off. took it off the charger at 11am w/ 100% and by 530 it was at 2%. Last night I had a timer going for my laundry and it was depleting rapidly too. Its really annoying.

My Moto 360 has been dying in about 4-6 hours the last 3-4 days. It appears to be around the time that recent update was pushed that rebooted my watch. Anyone else experince worse battery life since the update?
Mine has been slightly worse. I use to end the day with about 50% remaining.. Lately, it has been in the 30% range.
My battery was full when I left for work at 9:35am it is 1:33pm and it's at 22%...
I actually came to seek help for this same reason. Up til yesterday (maybe two days ago) my battery has been lasting roughly 16 hrs. Now I'm losing just over 10% per hour. Has anyone found a solution?
Add me to this list. Glad to know it's not just me, but it still sucks. Also noticing 8 - 10% drain per hour (per Wear Battery Stats). I've reset the watch, cleared out Play Services cache, uninstalled all other watchfaces, etc. Still the same drain, which seems to have started with the last update.
I know it makes a big difference regardless, but I turned off Bluetooth on my phone to see if the drain continued on my watch without it being connected. It stopped. In a hour I only lost about 3 percent. Could it be that after the update it is trying to sync too frequently or something to that effect?
I got the 5.0.1 update last night. I removed my watch from the charging dock this morning at 6 am and it is at 31% now at 1045 am. It is horrible. Wasn't this update supposed to be dramatically improving battery life instead of dramatically reducing it?
I had really good battery life before the update easily lasting through the day.
I hope there is a quick fix going to be issued shortly.
I hope the chaps at google are reading this thread.

So I had the same problem but I did a factory reset on the watch because someone in these forums told me to and now my battery life is pretty descent. About 12 - 16 hrs.
Can confirm, after updating to 5.0.1 battery life lasts like 2-3 hours... and its pretty laggy.
Motorola = fail !!!
I also have the same battery drain. After a 8 - 10 I use to have 60 - 50 %left now it is 10%. No new apps added. will try reset
Could it have something to do with the 1.0.5 Android Wear update? I was getting great battery life from 5am to 11pm, at around 30% left. Yesterday I was installing a new band and noticed it was at 15% around 6pm and then died about an hour after. Today I took it off the charger at around 5am and it's at 66% at 8:36am. This is ridiculous! I'm still on 4.4w.2 by the way.
Add me to this list, did the update this morning normally on about 60% now instead I'm on 11%.

So I don't know if something changed overnight, but I put my watch on a little over an hour ago and it's only loss 5%.
Update to my post from earlier. Was 66% at 8:36am and it just died at 10:30am. So, it's only been used for a little over 5 hours.
Are you guys using Facer by any chance? I ask cause I went from using Facer to using a stock face (Digital) and my battery life has improved drastically. I've now had my watch on for 2.5 hrs after a full charge and my battery is still at 91%.
I dont know if this will help or not......i also had the issue when i first updated the 360..........someone posted that a factory reset may work....
so i reset it....didn't quite help.....after 10 minutes or so...i noticed that the watch was quite hot...........i left it for about 10 extra mins and reboot the 360 again........after that....the battery life seems better......over the last 2 hours....i only lost about 7% of the battery......

I'm using Facer. I was just reading on Reddit that it could be because of the Facer update. Apparently the faces are using bits from 5.0. But, if you're on 4.4, the 5.0 faces cause the drain. Atleast that's what I was reading. I'm at work and don't have a charger. So, testing will have to be later.
I'm in the same boat EXCEPT I'm still on 4.4, not lollipop. However I do have the new version of wear.
Watchface gets HOT. I did a factory reset but battery life is dropping like a rock.
This happened to me once before, about 4 weeks ago. I solved it by doing a factory reset on my phone also.
are you guys all running battery wear status and other apps? i took my watch off at 8a this morning and at 12:35p i'm at 82%. i think that's probably higher than the normal 3.5% drain i'm used to seeing.
one thing I DID notice was that i ran the update with 100% and by the time i was done with shower, etc., it was already down to 87%, so i stuck it back on the charger.
Just an update. I went back to using a facer watch face. In 10 minutes my batter dropped 2%. Went back to stock face and a hour later it's only dropped 4%.
Anyone else noticing a meaningfully better drain on Ambient on 2.0? Previously, it was a 7%-8% drain on ambient which made the option essentially useless for a full day of use.
After 2.0 update, I'm seeing closer to a 4 to 5% drain with Ambient on. It's a huge improvement and makes it completely viable in my opinion.
Curious if anyone else is seeing similar results.
Thanks!
Hmmm.. I think I'll give that a shot in the morning. My drain is around 3.1% and I can get 23hrs of battery. I'm think at 4.5% I'd pull of 18hr which would be just fine. Will report back tomorrow night with my findings.

I've turned on ambient mode after the update and had no issue. To the point that I'm even getting better results with it (I think ) because the screen doesn't turn on in full brightness every time I want to check the time or check for notifications, I also have brightness on 1

I used to end the day with about 30% battery on my watch with ambient on. I'm closer to 50% now. Thats usually with 14-16 hours off the charger.
50pc left with ambient on after 15 hours is superb. Did you change any other settings? I'm nowhere near that yet albeit have only had the watch a few days.
I was down to 10pc after 14 hours... Running 5.0.1, pasquel face, low usage, ambient and tilt on. Watch on my wrist all day
Forgive me, but what does 2.0 refer to? I have software version 5.0.1 on my watch, Android Wear 1.0.5 and Google Play Services 6.5.90. I should be up to date having received two updates in December.
I was already averaging 24 hours battery life with ambient on before the update, and I think it might be even better now with 5.0.1, though it hasn't been too noticeable since I still charge it nightly as I did before.
I noticed that before the update, with ambient on, tilting the watch would only fully activate the display IF mute was OFF (with ambient and mute on, the watch stayed dimly lit, which I liked). This had a nice battery saving effect i think, but it meant missing notifications. After the update, mute no longer has this side effect. Instead I set tilt off and ambient on, and I get the same behaviour without needing to mute.
I've owned the watch for about a month now, and I used ambient mode the entire time (I tried with it off several times but I just couldn't get used to it). The first couple of days it only lasted 15-16 hours, i.e. I would go to bed with about 5% remaining. On the second day I discharged the watch fully until it shut off -- took about 16 or 17 hours. The very next day battery life improved markedly, and I went to bed with 33% left, and I've been averaging 24 hours each day ever since.
As I write this now, my watch is showing 67% left after nearly 9 hours off the charger, and Android Wear app estimates another 19 hours remaining for a total life of 28 hours with ambient on! (Keep in mind this was a quiet Sunday; on weekdays I'd get far more notifications from work Gmail and hangouts.)
Hope this helps.

I got my SW3 few days ago.
When I "unbox" this whist, I just did the init. installation (update) with the 5.0.1 version of Android Wear without fully charge it first.
After few days, I found that the battery lifetime can NEVER exceed 18 hrs from fully charged.
However the specification stated it can be up to 2 days, and some people in other forum posts said it can be more than 2 days.
I would like to ask if it is normal or not? Do I need to replace it? I am very confused.
What are your experiences? Please kindly share.
My watch was full on Wednesday, and I just plugged it in about 45 minutes ago with 5% left. Now, I did have it off overnight last night with about 32% before shutting it down. However, Wednesday night into Thursday I left it on and I only lost about 6%. So even I left it on last night, It would of still lasted me until 5pm today getting home from work. So I can go 3 days with my watch and getting a decent amount of notifications. Screen always on here as well.
I voted >60 because it does last me more than 2.5 days. I'm somewhat careful with it to get that amount, but it's certainly not hard to get that. But it should 100% absolutely be getting more than 18 hours. My suggestion would be to factory reset and only leave the essential apps on there that you need, if any. Just use the watch in it's bare minimal and see how your battery life is. If you still struggle for 18 hours, I'd say swap it out.
I charge mine every two days, however I could probably get another 5 to 10 hours out of it. I have GPS turned off, but everything else is on. I have Coffee, Mini Launcher, Facer, IFTTT, and a few other apps installed.
I charge every couple of days or so, and use it for reading notifications through the day, controlling spotify on the phone. Also running IFTTT, Facer, Mini Launcher, and using Sleep as Android at night (latest build worked wonders for this - before this I'd have to be charging every day.)

Hello,
How to disable GPS? Is it "localization services" in settings? Can you allways use "Google fit" correctly without it? Because without disable my SW3 last around 60h with : fit, notifications, ghostracer (gps for running around 45 minutes), watchmaker, wear mini launcher.
Thanks
My watch lasts me around 2 days when I sleep I put cinema mode on so the screen doesnt auto wake up
I've had mine for a week now today. I've had a couple very heavy use days where it lasted almost exactly 24 hours. However, yesterday was a moderate-to-heavy use day (worn and used for about 10 hours plus a little tinkering later in the night) and it still had 50% battery this morning. Resting much of the weekend when I got it, it had around 30% battery Monday morning. So it has varied with use, of course, but I'm pretty happy with the life. I knew a lesser battery wouldn't cut it on my heavy use days when I'm bored at work.
So, had my watch since Wed, and ben doing a good test since Sat morning:
Constantly paired with my S4
Screen off/Gesture off/Tap on
Non theater mode
Starting at 10:30Am Sat taking it off the charger, i have worn it since; checked a few emails, send a few voice texts, checked weather, etc. Currently (1:30 Mon), i am at 63%.
Frankly, i am more than happy with that battery life. If i can get away with charging it every few days casual use, without having to pair/unpair to conserve, i am sold. Now they just need to release the steel band for separate purchase (or a dedicated holder for band choice) so i can customize as much as my watch face.
So, here i am at 11:30 on Tuesday, and i am now at 10%; this included a GPS monitored walk, dozens of voice texts, emails received, time checked a bunch, and other misc fiddling with it. While the dreamer in me dreams of weeks of battery life, the realist in me is more than happy with 3.5 days of active life.
72 hour battery life 2% left
Edit: This is with display ON all the time. Tilt to wake OFF. No gps.
Hello,
I´ve got my ZenWatch 1 week ago and am very happy with this beautiful gadget. But there is/was one thing that disturbed my daily enjoyment:
The battery life.
After a normal 14 hours day the battery dropped from 100% to 10-15%. I use the always on feature and had round about 3-6 notifications per hour. Also I´ve toggled the connection to my phone (OnePlusOne) on all time.
And after 2 days I started trying to get a better battery life without disabling every nice feature (Must have is the always on feature and I need my notifications).
I tracked every full hour the current battery status and changed on a daily basis the configuration and the watch faces to find the best way between battery consumption and a normal usage.
My results are:
The most battery eater is the connection to my phone inclusivly the notifications and watchface-updates like weather etc.
I solved this problem, using Tasker on my phone, enabling BT every hour for 1 minute to let the notifications fly to my watch automatically. That saved 30-50% battery life the day!!!!
Also I do use a watch face supporting the Low-Bit-Feature, which "turns off" black pixels in dimmode. Battery safer! (10%-30%)
Today my setting is this:
Watchface: Watch Face - Minimal & Elegant
BT on every 1 hour for 1 minute to get notifications
Screen is always on
tilt to wake is off
And today after 14 hours normal usage I´ve unbelivable 64% of my battery (never charged!).
I hoped I could help you!
P.s. this was my first thread!
watch comes of the charger at 6am and when it goes back on at around 11pm I'm generally at 35-40% battery. I've got the screen in always on mode with tilt to wake on, and a facer watch face that updates weather. I'd say I get 30-50 notifications in a day so I'm not sure why your battery is so bad

The thing that would bug me about that would be the "no connection" icon showing on the watch face most of the time. I don't suppose there's anything you can do to suppress that, is there?

I have not found a solution for that.

I've never had issues with battery life. If I wear it all day and leave it off of the charger at night, I will wake up with 25-30% battery power left.
There must have been different batteries used in manufacturing. I've never had great battery life, if I leave the always on, brightness to 3 I can get through the day to about 9 pm before it dies if I don't use it for much of anything else except notifications. Since it's summertime I now leave the screen off, brightness to full so that I can actually see the screen in the sunlight. That usually makes quite a bit of difference.
Too great of a difference between half that says they have great battery life and half that says that theirs is horrible. I think there was a manufacturing flaw. I contacted ASUS and they said that if I was able to get 16 hours out a charge it was good enough.
I don't recall getting 16 since I first got mine...this morning it came off the charger at 3:30am - always on with dim watch maker face that one of our members created but I altered a tad, brightness to a 3. there really isn't much I can do with the watch beside check notifications including text messages (so the Bluetooth off 1min on wouldn't work for me). by this afternoon 2:30pm watch was completely dead and off. also since the latest update it disconnects from my phone frequently and when the watch is disconnected I often get the white screen asking if I want to wait or tap ok because its been disconnected. not as happy as I once was with my watch,
I'm looking for anyone who uses Ghostracer and WearMedia for running. I'm only getting about an hour run in before my battery dies (starting from at least 90%). Just wondering if that's all I should expect from my watch, or if I got a dud and should exchange it.
Thanks!
I got about 30% battery drain per hour when I tried using the SW3 as a running watch.

Thanks for the reply - were you using both of those apps? Or any GPS and music apps together?
I want to leave my phone at home when I run, that was the whole point of getting this watch, but an hour just isn't long enough.

I was using Ghostracer, but not Wear Media or any other music app.
Endomondo
I am using Endomondo on my watches to track my skating and bike riding and battery usage is 20-25% per hour.
I was only trying Wear Media yesterday but I don´t have bluetooth headphones...
My new Smartwatch 3 has just used 45% battery in 1 hour and 5 minutes using Ghostracer. No music or anything else. Low power screen option selected. That useage strikes me as a bit high.
I'm getting so frustrated - one day I can go on a run and I come back with 50% battery left, and the next day, it dies before I get an hour in (same route, same apps being used.) I'm ready to return this thing!

When I tested my new watch it was only 2 days old. The original results were low as the battery was settling. I am happy to say, with a full charge, using Ghostracer with the gps switched on on the watch, the battery failed after 4 hours and 10 minutes of riding. Screen on low power option in Ghostracer (so always on dim with Ghostracer stats displayed), no music or anything else, aeroplane mode switched ON on the watch first then the gps switched on, no phone with me.
I'm happy with that.
And, on this ride, the gps was accurate to within 0.5%
