CyanogenMod version: 11.0-InstallerXNPQ09Q
Hello, I just installed CM on my S3 via the one-click install. Now I have problems powering off or rebooting my phone. I select "Reboot" from the power menu, and click OK. Then it hangs displaying the "Reboot phone" window, displaying the busy animation and saying "Rebooting...". Power off does much the same thing. Is there any solution to my problem? I have to take the battery out to shut the phone down. Once turned off, it starts up just fine.
Sometimes, though, the phone restarts properly. I don't know what would make the difference.
I recommend flashing a custom recovery and flashing cm11 from recovery after doing a full wipe.

That's what I ended up doing. I've been running it now several days and everything is working fine. I should have done that in the first place, oh well. The installer sure didn't leave a good impression on me, but now that I have successfully installed CM and it is working, I love it!

Hello,
I have a great problem with my Motorola. I installed battery icon mod without reading for which phone it's made and used it. Now I can't use my phone, because it's stopping at this logo before system. I had Cyanogenmod 7 (last nightly before RC), but when I destroyed it by this application first thing I did was wipe. After it nothing has changed, so I tried again and I flashed it with normal 2.2 Nordic but - as I "predicted" - nothing has changed again, but this time system was stopping at Android logo, not Cyanogenmod logo. I tried to flash again - nothing. The device can be charged (there appears this battery).
What should I do?

Go into the stock recovery and wipe data. Then re-flash the sbf.
I did it already, but I forgot, that I can do wipe after flashing the device I thought about it and did it - everything is working. Sorry for useless thread.
Regards.
I wanted to ask at the same time. What if i can't enter stock recovery. My phone's rooted , slightly overclocked , and i can't download any apps , i can't do factory reset , and even when i'm trying to enter it , the android pic would appear with that "danger - triangle". What should be done?

The triangle IS the stock recovery! when you see the triangle with the little android dude, hit both up and down volume at the same time. This will bring up a menu that will allow you to do a factory wipe.
And another question. I've installed custom recovery , and it said that install was succsesful , but when I apply recovery boot , it just reboots my phone , or lefts screen blacked out, at which case i have to turn on my phone by removing and applying battery.

Not sure I understand the questions, but I'll take a stab at it anyway:
Since we have a locked bl, the custom recovery does not overwrite the stock recovery.
As far as I know, the only way to get in to custom recovery, is to push the vol down when the blue light goes on during the boot cycle.

If it was a first reboot after installing Custom Recovery than USB Debbug should be off...
I am rooted with a 16gb GSIII, I flashed the Blazer ROM (version 2.0) a couple of days ago after I got my gsIII. It ran fine and I had no issues with it. Today I tried flashing a new kernel from AGAT that I had read in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956392 was supported on the Blazer ROM in hope to allow me to overclock my device.
I made a nandroid back up first BUT didn't wipe anything foolishly and now everytime I boot my phone the samsung logo pops up followed by a banner saying AGAT. Every time I try to reboot into download or recovery (each time holding the down or up volume button along with the power button for 5-10 seconds) it just restarts that boot cycle.
Since my device turns on still is it only soft-bricked or is it technically full bricked since I can't get into cwm recovery or download mode? Any suggestions for what I should do?
No expert on this but try pulling out the battery and then go into recovery.

When holding vol up to get into the recovery, you need to release all the buttons to get into recovery. Do a cache wipe, then flash the kernel again. If you continue to get a bootloop, it may be a bad kernel.
Hey everyone. I cannot find any information specific to my phone. I have the Galaxy SII Hercules, and I've been trying to get Cyanogen Mod 10 on it. I rooted it just fine, everything worked great. I flashed the CWM Recovery, ran super wipe and super cache wipe after installing the mod. Everything was fine. But then the next day, the phone just died with 75% power left and got stuck rebooting over and over. If I take the battery out, it will let me go into recovery, but then the power button is selecting options without me touching it.
If I unroot the phone and go back to stock, the power button works fine when selecting options in the stock recovery, and the boot loop stops. I cannot find anyone who will tell me what's causing this, or how to fix it, other than "YOu have a loose power button!" But then, why have I not had the problem at all using stock? I prefere the way my phone was working on CM10, especially the better battery life and radio reception.
OK. Well, I managed to find information on google. For some reason searching the forums here doesn't yield results other than finding another poster with the same problem. It seems the version of clockwork recovery I was using would cause the issue. I flashed and rooted with twrp 2.4.4.0 (2.5.5.0 would not finish flashing in odin mode for some reason) and everything is running fine so far. But its only been a couple hours.

Hopefully your post can help other people. If you try to use those super wipe scripts with CWM 6 you will have major problems. Only use them if you are on CWM 5.0.2.7.
Doing fine after 36 hours. The battery life is 8 hours, 15 minutes with WiFi and GPS on the whole time. It did have a black screen earlier with the four home keys along the bottom lit up. I had to take the battery out, but it came back up no problem. Only glitch so far.

Ok so, I have been running Hyperdrive RLS16 for quite sometime now with no issues, going on approx 6 months now. Love the rom. Just today out of nowhere my phone started timing out. By timing out I mean, screen started going black as if I was closing it when I was in the middle of using it. This proceeded to happen for at least 15 minutes meanwhile it was constantly rebooting itself as well. After about 15 mins of reboots and screen timeouts, it got to where the phone would not stay on. it would boot up, then when i started using it it would reboot again. So after a battery pull, sd card pull and sim card pull I restarted it and since it seems to be doing ok for the moment. I immediately backed up my rom in clockword mod recovery through rom manager, backed up all my apps and created an update.zip in titanium backup. I downloaded the stockmod slim rom t999 4.3 v3 and the uvuemj4 modem that it requires for data and was gunna try and flash it and everytime i boot into recovery and try to select an option to pick, it randomly starts selecting things and jumping all over the place and then reboots. wont let me wipe data factory reset, or wipe dalvick or cache. wont even let me choose the rom or modem to flash. I tried to update my version of clockwork mod, and nothing. Tried to download goo manager and try twrp but it wont go into twrp it stays in clockwork mod and does the same. Im so confused on what to do to fix this and would like to flash a new rom to see if it will fix my screen timeouts and reboots but I cant get recovery to cooperate in order to do that. Can anyone help me? PLEASE!!!! I thought maybe if i try clockwork mod touch that it may fix the problem, but even if i download it how can i flash it if recovery isint cooperating?:crying::crying::crying:

It sounds like there would be a problem with your digitizer. Or motherboard. Either way it sounds expensive to fix.

The touch response is working fine though, and the buttons work fine. But it randomly scrolls all over the place in recovery and selects things on its own even when Im just holding it in my hand pressing nothing. I have the regular clockwork mod recovery not the touch installed. I have to scroll with the volume buttons and select with the power button. But even when im not pressing either it just goes in ghost mode and starts selecting stuff. Its crazy!! Is there a problem with my version of recovery? 6.0.4.3

I don't use cwm so I wouldn't know. But your didgitizer could still act like its working fully and still be broken. Idk man.

ok well thanks man for your help. Would the digitizer be causing the random reboots as well?

If it's malfunctioning is possible. But there's no telling.

Can you boot download mode? Odin flash stock firmware. If it continues then it may be a hardware problem.
i havent tried to do that. But i did do a factory reset from my settings instead of through recovery. I did lose quite a bit of stuff because it deleted my backups in titanium and etc but my recovery is working now. No more ghost mode selecting everything. But my phone is still doing the random reboots

Earlier I too felt this type of auto touch in my other device and I figured out that this was happening due to some radio interference at some particular time and particular place which was near a radio station
Whenever I go away or that station time was over it will be working correctly
May be something like this happening just for your information to make sure

I did a search and maybe not correctly but I did not find my particular problem.
So I have stock root66 rom flashed with odin 3.11 on my phone goes into boot loop.
I flashed twrp 3.1.1-0 with odin and I can go into recovery but as soon as I select any rom (OCT-N-WEEKLY-20170811-1427-d2tmo) it starts to do something and just reboots the phone and back into the boot loop. I reboots to fast for me to even figure out what it says on the phone.
Has anyone else experienced this? Battery is charged to 80%+
edit: tried CWM same symptoms reboots right away. Only thing I can flash with is odin otherwise with any recovery reboots right away. I was able to flash a modem with twrp and that works but no roms work.
update 2: I finally was able to get root66 installed. Gets to the set up part. Once I finish the setup the phone turned off on its own. It never turns on on its own so leads me to believe the power button isnot stuck but why does it turn off on its own? I turned back on and goes into bootloop.
The power button may be stuck in the "pressed" position.
Have you tried TWRP 2.87? You're sure you are flashing the correct TWRP version for the phone?

Thanks for the reply. I have tried 6.0.1.2_CWM_Touch-recovery-image & twrp-3.0.2-0-d2tmo.img but not 2.87.
However, as I stated above I was able to flash a modem but just not flash any roms which is weird.
If the power button pressed and the phone reboots when i pull the battery and put back in wouldn't the phone turn back on? I'm just finding it odd the phone keeps rebooting but when I pull the battery and put back in it doesnt turn on automatically.
update: So 2.8.6 twrp worked which is odd installing as we speak phone has not rebooted yet so lets see how it does once rom is flashed. I did odin root66 and after that installed it kept rebooting so fingers crossed this works. Using OCT-N-WEEKLY-20170811-1427-d2tmo hopefully this works
so after the flash seems to just back to the bootloop. I'm still not convinced my power button is stuck since it doesnt auto turn on and during the whole process of flashing it didnt reboot on its own only after the flash. Any ideas?
Literally gets to the samsung galaxy siii logo and reboots right away.
Try flashing the latest stock ROM, not a rooted stock ROM.

same bootloop. Gets to the tmobile animation and then reboots.
It's possible that the memory chip is damaged. You could take it to a repair shop and have it flashed via jtag.
