Just wondering, there seemed to be a few methods available to the M8, but it appears Sunshine is the only one right now. When searching Sunshine comes up as every result so if there is another method it's hard to find so I figured I would reach out and see
Should mention, I have the T-Mobile US variant of the M9 with Viper rom

Yea, and the HTC code that they use to set the security flag to OFF. That's not free. The cheapest one that you will find is over $300.
So $25 to use Sunshine is a bargain compared to $300 Those guys deserve every dime IMHO.
I think this is the card your looking for
From what I have read you really just need to be efficient in coding. Jcase only started charging for sunshine because his last two versions of sunshine cost him over $1000 each plus countless hours of his time and he only recieved one donation of $48. I don't blame him one bit and when I am ready to s-off my phone I will use the sunshine app to do so.

The Java card has to be loaded with files there is a free download for diag files to S off various HTC models including M7 and M8, unfortunately they don't include M9 on this collection of diag files so I don't believe it would work for M9 unless you can obtain the M9 specific diag files

Seems to be a misunderstanding,
I wasn't saying that Java card couldn't be used to S off M9, merely that I couldn't see M9 diag files on the link I copied from earlier post. I wasn't referring to your link.
Fastboot writesecureflag 0
Is the command that is used when diag is booted.
There may be other methods, maybe you could explain .

My apologizes for the misunderstanding Paul. I was under the impression that you were implying that S-OFF with a Java Card wasn't possible on the M9 without the correct diag files. I was replying to that specifically.

hi,guys,I got my inc2 S-OFF、Root、Recovery with chinese and network unlock!
The method to get s-off on the inc2 is not the same as incs, the S58 file is not the same. I haven't the s58 file for incs2,but today ,i found a person to get the inc2 s-off,but not to use xtc clip, now my incs2 is s-off and unlock.and can use gsm、WCDMA、CDMA SIM、USIM and UIM card,in china ,CDMA Network must use UIM Card, but he didn't tell me the method,I pay for it about 50 RMB,you can see this web, there are photos of my inc2:
the outsidelinks "ACD168 " had told us
I am a new user are not permitted to post outside links in their messages,
who can tell me how to post outsidelinks and upload photos??
Best way is to make some posts in other threads

He paid someone to unlock the phone. Most likely used a sim unlock clip. Nothing to see here.
it is the first known inc2 S-OFF though.

XTC doesn't support the Incredible 2 yet (it supports Incredible S). So the fact that it has been unlocked is at least a step in the right direction. XTC Pay-As-You-Go might be worth the money at this point.
I'd gladly pay something to have my inc2 S-off!
Please keep the discussion development-oriented so that this topic isn't locked. Please take any meta-discussions to the General area.
Thanks!
If we can get S-Off on our Inc2's, would the temporary root as stated before, be used to gain full time root access?

So, this might be a stupid question, but in regards to s-off, I know that up until recently on my INC (ADR6300), I did NOT have s-off on my INC, (until when I needed to flash my radio firmware so my video camera would work) and I was able to load whatever rom I wanted. Granted, I did use unrevoked initially to get perm root, so I am assuming that is the reason that we are stuck on the INC2's? (ADR6350)
Obviously, the end goal is to get S-off, but before that we would be OK (more or less) if we could just write to /system, right?

It isn't promising because he took it to somebody else who looks to have used a hardware clip to unlock it, whereas we're looking for software solutions.
in that sense, then yes... looks like it. but i was pretty ready to get a clip to get it working. the way i see it, as long as we are not too far behind IS's root development, then it's good news
It reminds me of the dss days. People would pay alot of money for "Special hardware and software" to unlock. Then a few months later a cheap software update would come up for free to everyone. Lets just hope this is how it goes with the new lock downs companies are implementing with their new phones.
I've upgraded from the HTC one x to the M8 and was wondering if there were any ways to root via a mac, I know it's do-able with AIO kits on windows as well as apps like weaksauce for the VerizonM8. In terms of using stuff like Parallels I don't see the justification in purchasing it just for to do a certain thing when hundreds(probably!) will be in the same boat, any info on what would be the best route for me to take would be appreciated! :fingers-crossed:

First of all, I just recently switched from IOS to Android so I don't know a lot of the correct terminology or parts of rooting yet. But, as I've searched around it seems there is no way to root the Verizon model of the htc one m9. All I want to do is be able to root my phone and get cyanogen mod 12. Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
As of this moment, the only way is thru the use of a Java Card. There's a thread in this forum devoted to that, where you can get with one of the members that has a card and ship your phone to them for the procedure. Other than that, just waiting for beaups and jcase to get their method safe and available for public release. There's also a discussion on that.
Thank you so much for responding so quickly! I think I will just wait for the devs to release something. But, what would they be releasing and how can I keep an eye out for it?

You can also make an attempt at finding someone close to you who would be willing to meet, the procedure is quick and painless from what I hear and it will unlock your phone, it is called "S-Off" in the HTC world and allows you to unlock your bootloader to make the possibilities endless, giving the ability to flash custom ROM's and custom kernels. It is most definitely worth it.. Here is the thread for Java card
OK thanks! Maybe I can find someone on Craigslist to do this.
Please don't look on Craigslist. If you need root that bad, I know someone that can s-off your device with a Java card. Shipping costs both ways will be your responsibility though.

Every bad thing that has ever happened in the world started with this sentence...LMAO JK!
Not every but alot of them unfortunately.
I have never had a bad thing happen to me through Craigslist. Actually quite the opposite. I got deals I couldn't find anywhere else and I met people that were absolutely awesome! Actually the roommates I live with, I found through Craigslist and the job I currently have is because of Craigslist.
Of course 99% of the time you'll be fine but that other 1% will land you in a body bag. There have been a couple Craigslist transactions turned homicides on California in the past few years. If and when I do buy or sell something on Craigslist, I always meet in a very busy public place and bring someone with me. Can't be too careful these days sad to say.

Simple root on this phone won't really be of much use to the regular user with the way write protection is on this device. The real deal will only arrive when s-off and unlocked bootloader happens.

I don't see a single reason why I should do that. First an most importantly I already used sunshine several weeks ago. And second even if I hadn't used sunshine and/or hadn't been able to use paypal on my own there would have been other methods to pay the 25 USD.
Java Card is better on the long term, because if your phone is sent as warranty for a motherboard problem for example, you will have need to repaid for a license or when you will change for a new phone too.
After that you can offer your services at a good price to unlock the phones ( the sim unlock too ) and you will largely cover the price of the card. It is true that It is more expensive but it's worth in my opinion.

Shouldn't take everything so seriously. You might live longer

You have to be insanely stupid to install that malware and give some stranger remote access to your phone and computer, AND pay $40. If anyone actually does this they deserve to have their phone taken away and given an iPhone.
Yeah and for your information I am not insanely stupid because I did not do it
I asked them about the one click root for Lg4 h815 and they told me has to be done manually for $39.95
So that's why i know the price OK?

It is fake. Currently there is NO One-Click Root method for our G4.
In all honesty though the "low effort" method is so easy and quick (less than 5 minutes, seriously it only takes a few seconds once you have all the files you need) that I do not even see the point or need in making a One Click method for it.
The one click method works but yes one needs to give them access so they do the root for you. Yes 40 bucks is steep price. I am guilty as charged for having paid the amount. I am in no way a noob. Been rooting since the g1. But this time I had to for I have a Mac and all done through a virtual machine.
