Android Auto - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

I know this is a long shot but I have a 2015 Hyundai Sonata and I just took the car to the dealer to have the Android Auto Software installed. I had to sideload the AA App on my N7 2013 Wifi. I turned on the hotspot on my phone and connected the tablet to the internet, paired my tablet to the car and connected the tablet to the USB port but I cannot get the AA App to display. I also tried going to TMobile and doing the same thing with a brand new G4 with no luck. I have a Sony Z3 so no Lollipop yet. HELP

[Q] HTC ONE M8 mirrorlink?

hello.
iv got a M8 and i am looking at getting a sony Sony XAV-712BT head unit for my car , the Sony XAV-712BT is a mirrorlink unit and i am looking at this unit to be able to connect my phone via mirrorlink and use the google maps from my phone on my headunit,
can any one here tell me if the M8 is a mirrorlink approved device, every list iv looked at says that the only android phone is the S3 and the S4mini but i have seen this you tube vid ( search youtube for, HTC 2014 ONE M8 Mirrorlink with Sony XAV 701 Car Audio ) that shows a M8 connected to the unit down from the one im looking at buying,
i have also read this review by madco.com which hints to say that the one m8 does have mirrorlink
he says about 3/4s the way down.
"HTC Car is present as always, with big, easy to use buttons for navigation, dialer, music and voice control. I have to say that i’ve never really used the car app very much and i’ve never really felt it necessary, up until recently. I’ve seen the future… and it’s awesome. It’s called ‘MirrorLink’.
MirrorLink is a technology (run by an independent consortium) which is looking to bring enhanced device integration to cars. The premise is that you’ll plug your phone into a USB port in your car (or, in MirrorLink 1.1, connect via WiFi Direct) and your car stereo’s screen will replicate your phone screen. Touches on your car’s infotainment screen will be replicated on your phone. HTC had a demo of the functionality in a Golf GTI on their stand at MWC and it looks fantastic. This is how I want phone integration in my car, I don’t want any OS in the car itself (*cough* iOS in the car *cough*) and the M8 supports it. Now, if only I can get support on the stereo in my car…"
but when i look at every other review or the specs listed anywhere it dosnt say that it does support mirrorlink
can anyone confirm if the M8 works with mirrorlink headunits units?
My M8 is working fine with my samsung smart TV using mirror link with wifi, just go to settings-media output and voila

Bluetooth connection to car not working.

Hello Nexus Community,
I just became a Nexus 5x Owner after half a year of Sony Z5c horror
Of course i opted in as a beta tester for Nougat. I didn't use the phone with Marshmallow at all, so i don't know whether its a hardware or a software error i got.
I cannot connect to my cars bluetooth. Other devices can connect to my car and my Nexus can connect to other BT devices. But i can't pair it with my car. It just doesnÄt do anything when tapping "SEAT-BT" in the bluetooth settings.
Any idea?

Pixel XL (and a Nexus 6p running 7.1) bluetooth problems with GM car

My Nexus 6P updated to 7.1 last night and the Pixel came today, so this likely is a 7.1 issue.
I have a 2012 GM Equinox that was working great with teh Nexus 6P pre 7.1, Never tried it with 7.1 because it came after I was home and had no reason to be in the car and the new Pixel came today.
Neither will work with bluetooth, although both say that they are paired, neither connects unless I am in the Android pairing screens. Once off those, the connection goes away, the light on the car goes away, no connection. This was tested on both phones, and the results are the same all the time. The car sees each phone, pairs with each phone, but the magic that happens when you connect doesn't happen.
Other devices are connecting via BT (such as my fitbit) but the car pairs but never connects (again, unless on the android pair screen or if I use the car and select a phone, it'll connect for a second but goes away).
Have seen other complaints, thought I'd add mine to the world
I have an Acadia and mine works perfectly
I have a 2014 GMC Sierra and everything is working perfectly. Calls and music have been flawless so far.

I appreciate that, but on the google pixel help groups, there are a bunch of us with the issue. We all describe it the same as well.

I see someone else posted that issue as well. Maybe is because I after market radio in my car
I have a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and my 6p and Pixel XL. They both pair and work fine with the stock radio.

So weird, I just posted the exact same problem in a new thread just below this so mods please delete mine. I have the exact same issues. Both new Pixel and Pixel XL will not fully pair. My truck is a 201o Silverado, the pairing process goes smoothly, the truck says it is paired but the phone does not pair, let's go Google. BTW the XL pairs with my BT speaker in my house so not sure what's wrong

I had a similar problem with my Hyundai Genesis 2011. The problem is the Nexus and pixel phones with Android 7+ can't seem to automatically detect the cars Bluetooth. So on my car I went to phone and clicked add where it tells you your cars Bluetooth password and add device then refresh Bluetooth pairing on the phone and it should appear.
Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
Thanks, the phone is showing as paired on both the phone itself and on the car, it just never actually connects after pairing, does nothing with contacts nor keeps a connection longer than 4 seconds. It'll say Pixel XL then swap to Onstar Handsfree and the bluetooth connected indicator light simply goes out.
I have the same or exceptionally similar issue... Some better detail on my issue:
Phone: Pixel XL
Car Head Unit: Pumpkin Android Head Unit
Bluetooth worked perfectly with my Note 5.
Pixel detects the "Car Kit"
The head unit detects the Pixel
They pair fine and appear to connect. However after just a few seconds the bluetooth on the phone shows
"Car Kit (No Phone)" - Connected ..... It then disconnects, reconnects and repeats.
Cleared Bluetooth cache on head unit - Can't find a bluetooth cache on the Pixel XL.
No idea where to go from here.

OBD2 Devices

I've just bought a Dasaita V600 unit and currently have a wifi dongle for OBD2. The wireless network of the OBD2 dongle disappears every time I turn the car off. I have to pull the dongle out and reconnect it for it to work again.
I was contemplating getting the USB version. Does anyone know if these units work with the USB OBD2?
Cheers.
I have a MTCE_KLD_V2.80_1 working with a "ScanTool 425801 OBDLink SX USB" and Torque, for about a week now. So far no problems.

Car Tablet Nissan Qashqai unknow and issue with 360 camera

Hello everyone, I recently bought a car tablet for my June 2017 Nissan Qashqai Tekna. The car tablet was purchased used, and the seller didn't tell me the manufacturer. Can you help me? Here are some photos.
Another thing, I have a problem with the 360 cameras. They work properly when I go to the APP Camera, but when the sensors activate, they don't work. I see an APP called F-CAM starting, but a yellow triangle appears.
