Okay, first, you may want to try flash the v10g version of the stock ROM because it's the best starting point for flashing the custom ROM on lg ogp device. Follow the instructions in the link below and you should be good. I don't know why someone would tell you to use the towel root with the stock v20 rom because a lot of time it doesn't root properly. The instructions you were originally gave were to root with the towel root and then install the busy box so you can use the freegee. With the freegee you can install either cwm or twrp custom recovery. Once you have the custom recovery, reboot into the recovery and then flash philz custom recovery because it's better than the freegee's. Philz recovery is optional if you don't feel like you need it, it just has more bell and whistle, that is all. You can flash the custom ROM with either custom recovery, philz or freegee. However, I'm more concern with you trying to root with the v20 stock ROM, because you will likely run into many issues. So be sure to read the guide I give you first.

Hey! thanks for the replay! I just got one helper because the rom guy didn;t want to help me so the others.Only 1 guy wanted to give me hints and I managed to install this stock rom.
So you're saying that I have wrong rom installed?
Do I have to really instal other rom or can I do it on mine but in other way to root it and process it so as to install http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-g-pro/development/mar-0-lollipop-g-pro-v1-t3043779 or not?
I'm all confused,just wanted to install http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-g-pro/development/mar-0-lollipop-g-pro-v1-t3043779
but whole day passed and nothing was done U.Ux

Read the guide I give you.

Managed to root my phone by iRoot.
Now I tried install busybox but after I hit install: "it looks like the instalation of busy box was not successful try installing to different location that may resolve the issue"....
any tips?

If you can't install the busy box, that usually has something to do with the root. That's the reason I said not to use the v20 stock ROM as the starting point. The only reason you need the busy box is the freegee, you can install the recovery without using freegee, but you have to search around XDA first because freegee opens up the boot loader, which is also the reason you can't just flash the recovery with the lg flash tool. You may have to flash v10g version of the stock ROM.

Ok I'm in philz menu.Someone said that all I need is to install(ANY) rom and kernel-how I do it? I want http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-g-pro/development/mar-0-lollipop-g-pro-v1-t3043779

Have you used a custom recovery before? Down load both rom and kernel installing files to a directory that you prefer, usually some where on your external sd disk. Once you get the files, go to philz recovery and press install zip, find the directory where the installing files are located, press on them, and it should install the rom. If you have never done this before, remember to factory or clean install the rom. On philz recovery, there is a function call installing a new rom under factory reset section, use that every time you're installing a new rom.

Yup, I advanced wiped my phone (TWRP) and cleared cache, dalvik and system

What's Wi-Fi doing? I notice there are issue with the modem on cm12.1 based custom rom. During the boot up, it would spent long time searching for the signal, but I never have problem with the Wi-Fi though, then again, I'm not using cm12.1 but vanir instead. However, somewhere I remember reading that someone else is having a issue with the Wi-Fi on cm12.1, and he fix it temporarily by setting up the Wi-Fi each time.

How were you able to make flashing custom roms work using freegee? I successfully rooted my Optimus G Pro and used freegee to install CWM recovery 6.0.4.7, but everytime I try to flash a custom rom - the phone would reboot after 10 -15 seconds. I followed and installed the custom roms accordingly to the instructions. Can you help me?

There are two different versions of Freegee on the Playstore. One is the free version and One is the paid version. I used the free version and when I open the app to install CWM recovery I don't see the "unlock" option, so I think the "unlock" option is only available in the paid version. Also, when I used the free version of Freegee to install CWM recovery, I can make and restore my nandroid backup. Maybe I need to buy the paid version of Freegee??
no u don't need paid.
also I didn't have the unlock option and I was able to flash.
I would say try twrp.
also are u trying just 1 ROM or have to tried a couple. maybe do that

Check in CWM recovery, before you flash any of the ROM's that LOKI support is enabled, I think you can find it under Advanced and it says something like "Toggle LOKI support"

do I enable Loki after the flash or before the flash? Because I enable loki in the advance option of CWM recovery after I flash a custom rom and the phone still reboots 10-15 seconds. I did all the normal wipes and stuff too. I'm thinking maybe its because of I'm the software version that I'm on which is E98010g.
He said "check before you flash any rom, that LOKI support is enabled"... You should carefully read instructions before you do anything or you will end with bricked device...

I'm having the same trouble with recovery. I was on SlimBean for several months and decided to flash a ROM from RadeonMaya, but it wouldn't boot, so I tried to restore my backup of Slim from CWM. It looked like it restored properly, but it wouldn't boot either. I finally reverted back to stock and rooted again, downloaded Freegee and tried to flash CWM. I booted into recovery to flash my Slim backup, but I got an "error loki-ifying the boot image". I tried Phil's recovery, but couldn't boot back into recovery from CWM
Since then, I have not been able to flash anything, and have reverted back to stock probably a dozen times. I've tried TWRP, but can't flash a version that works on 4.1.2. I'm beyond frustrated at this point. I had fun flashing on this phone until these problems showed up, now I'm just going to try to like the stock ROM and hope we get an update to KitKat.
Just a quick question guys. What does freegee's "unlock" feature do? I ask because I don't get that option in Freegee either. Is it supposed to network unlock your phone or? Also, what is the need for the unlock?

[Q] What to do now?

So I have to admit I am pretty overwhelmed but the amount of information. So I wanted to find out from the community what do I do now.
My RAZR my is rooted, boot loader unlocked and on stock KK 4.4.2. I have no idea how to get the customer recovery on my phone the forrest ways as I have seen it many different ways. SO how it it I get TWRP on my device now. Once I do, is that how I install a rom? Will that wipe the stock one?
Easiest way to flash TWRP is through an app called "Flashify," which is found on the Google Play store. Download the correct version (TWRP 2.7.1.0 works well on the KK build) in ZIP format. Save to your phone. Open Flashify, backup your current recovery, and choose the new TWRP to flash. Reboot and see the new recovery.
In the new recovery, perform a full backup, throw it on your computer for safe keeping. There are a select few ROMs that work on the 3.4 kernel that the KK build uses, so if you would like to be opened to all the other ROMs, find the 98.30.1 update and flash it using your favorite method. After you flash back to the update, reinstall TWRP if it is gone, and then have fun.
To flash a ROM, just throw the ZIP file on your phone for your ROM, boot into TWRP and choose to install, and select the file(s) to flash. This does wipe the stock one. Perform a nandroid backup to save it.

I'm not sure what you're saying, but recovery is the important thing. Just flash ROMs through recovery. Read directions for each ROM before you do so as well. Most require wiping the System partition at the least, but it's best to do a factory reset (via TWRP) before an install. Backup your data with Titanium.

Boot image, I believe, is just the logo your phone displays when you first turn it on (think: red M, or after you unlock, the bootloader warning). Just the recovery is the important part.

[Q] I747 Galaxy S3 Clockworkmod Recovery Problem

Ok guys I am a noob (also new to these forums) and I'm having a lot of trouble with my phone. The other day, I rooted my phone using towelroot and confirmed it using root checker. then, I downloaded ROM manager as advised by a friend. i followed the instructions and installed Clockworkmod Recovery onto my AT&T Galaxy S3. Feeling I was finally ready to install a ROM, i tried to download Cyanogenmod 10.3.1 only to have it be "downloading" for over 14 hours without it completing. From there, i did some research and decided to utilize the Cyanogenmod Installer. it seemed to work perfectly, even showing the cyanogenmod logo under when my devicec turned on, until it told me to reboot my device. i entered clockworkmod recovery mode to officially reboot it. when i selected "reboot system now" it said "Root access possibly lost. Fix?". i was given the options to say "No" and "Yes - Fix root (/system/xbin/su). no matter which one i try, my phone boots to the stock touchwiz OS. I have installed and reinstalled both superuser, superSU, and ROM manager to no success. What am i doing wrong?
Try flashing Philz Touch via Odin and use that to flash a custom ROM.
From what I recall, CM ROMs are already rooted.

CM is already rooted? What does that mean? I have a feeling that I will be unable to flash any ROMs due to my "possible loss of root access." Thank you for your patience as I am a noob and am very stressed out as this is my only phone.
I see two areas that are potential problems for flashing that rom. If it took 14 hours to download, its highly likely a corrupted download. But also, you may be on too new firmware. Cm uses asserts in the updater-script to check that you have the right base firmware/bootloader build. They dont update this so when newer firmware is released it will no longer flash because the script doesn't see it as allowed.
Anytime you have issues flashing something in recovery, you should copy the recovery log to sd. This will tell you what happened. I suspect it simply didn't flash, but without the log, theres no way we can tell what happened.
Also, you do not need to be rooted to flash anything from recovery. Just flash the recovery, then flash a rom from there. Nearly all roms you will ever see are already rooted. Non rooted roms are very rare and are generally only used as an alternate way to revert to stock.
I dont use cwm, but if im not mistaken, it seems to always ask to fix root. I dont know why, but I see people ask about it frequently.
I use TWRP, so try that, or philz as suggested by audit13. Just watch the flash progress for any errors and copy the log.

and if I'm on note 5 moar rom with patch.... no issue flashing right?
Sky-high made us a kernel? Sweet sadistic smiles, success! So happy. Anyone know if it'll work like the LP patch did for note roms, or does more need to happen first? Or do people just need to start trying and report back?

i tried wiping and clearing cache then flashing the rom and the kernel. nothing actually happens to my phone. i end up on the same home screen and apps i had installed on moar 5.1.1 with note 5 patch.
any ideas why wiping my phone doesnt work on twrp 3.0.0.0?

Update your TWRP.
https://dl.twrp.me/zenltespr/
yea I tried doing that with Odin and it would freeze mid way. I also tried flashing a twrp update zip file on twrp and that didn't work either.
you think I should flash with flash fire?
bricked my phone by trying to flash newer version of twrp with twrp manager
been trying to flash unbrick tar and pit file to get back up and running but its not working.

fixed the brick by flashing new recovery in Odin, now on 3.0.2. still can't get the phone to wipe out install new rom and kernel

Last thing I can think of is when opening TWRP the first time. It asks if you want to make the system 'read only'. Did you select No?
I never got that message when I flashed twrp 3.0.2 to unblock... how do I make it show up?

Not sure. You can click mount and see what is mounted. I am not sure that will work. I am not sure exactly what you are trying to wipe, but mount the items you are attempting to wipe and make sure the read-only is unchecked.
Try this:
Check to see if oem is checked
Re-root via root tar/odin
twrp 3.0.0.1 from edge files post in general
Backup stock
Wipe
Flash Moar
Don't reboot
Flash skyhigh kernel
Flash xposed(don't have to)
Reboot
Allow it to boot loop a couple time (from sky kernel)
Give 5-10 minutes to boot
I just did it with no issues and I've personally had more luck with 3.0.0.1 than any of the others.
heres my issue...twrp doesnt do anything for me (all versions) whether i wipe or install
so i used flashfire to flash the rom and the kernel at once and it finally displayed aroma installer (wouldnt get that in twrp)
however, after it in stalled i got stuck on boot screen
the only fix for this was flashing unbrick aok3 tar file which brought me to stock
i put on twrp as a recovery again starting fresh unrooted and it still doesnt respond to any of my commands
i think i will try flash fire on stock one more time and see what happens since its the only thing that is responding

Your on Lp bootloader that's your issue.
Download Marshmallow tar from the general post I made for rooting Bpg1.
Flash tar and follow post.
twrp. 3.0.x.x is more for marshmallow. You need to be on 6.0.1 not 5.1.1.
Don't use fireflash on this device.
Fireflash is more for phones with locked bootloaders like Verizon s4 on the of1 update.
Fireflash isn't really up to date with our phone and could easily brick your device.

Previously i installed rom manager app and flash the cwm from the app. After reboot to recovery, only stock recovery that showed, then i reboot to system, install freegee in order to flash the cwm but fail as freegee doesnt support gpro kitkat.
After that i install gpro kitkat recovery and flash the cwm from the app, success, reboot to recovery but stuck on the error.
I uninstalled rom manager and freegee, but still no luck to get the flashed cwm recovery, stuck in secure booting error.

Btw looks like you are the only person that still active in this thread...really appreciate it...thank you very much
You're complicating it too much, to be honest
Just do it this way:
1. flash stock 4.1.2 and keep it that way
2. root, install Freegee, install initial recovery (twrp, cwm, doesn't mater), update it to TWRP from forums (2.8 version is preferred)
3. you're ready to flash create stock backup and flash roms.
If I remember, all those changes are already implemented in both SlimLP and Carbon. Slim has newer kernel and gpu drivers, and that's it.
So you are saying i just flash the rom as is without any further change?Noted shady...i will inform you the result

Ive tried your suggestion with the following result:
a. Flash to stock 4.1.2 (v10e) : success but then the master file i downloaded is gone
b. Root, install freegee, initial recovery: success
c. Update to twrp 2.8 using twrp manager: success
d. Flash to Carbon: fail, canot enter recovery mode with message secure booting error, boot certification verify
So i just rollback to kitkat stock

So, you can't boot TWRP at all? It seems that TWRP you installed isn't lokified. Are you sure you've installed TWRP 2.8? I remember flashing it directly via flashify on my device and it worked.. Also, check TWRP thread for lokified zip, I think someone posted that.
Edit: you see now why almost everyone abandoned this device

After installing freegee's twrp, reboot to recovery. Then, it might be OK.
After that, reboot system and use flashify, the free version will do.
You can either choose to download the file or chose from your internal / external memory.
I'm using the latest version TWRP 3.0.2.0.
If it doesn't work at first, go back to start and try again...

Thanks for respond, i have to download the jb stockbase again as the file used for lg flash tool is missing, looks like flashtool keep it somewhere...btw, when i use flashtool to flash the jb stock (offline mode), it.doesnt complete 100%, at 99% device was successfully boot and normal but state in flashtool screen is 99% and message to.retry is showned up.
Fyi, after flashed to jb, i cant execute fastboot flash command, the result is waiting for any device, but adb devices command return expected result. Enable debugging setting is already checked also.
Quiet interesting this device...salut to programmers of this device...

G Pro doesn't support fastboot commands (or is really limited in that field, I'm not sure what to say/think), due to some mess LG made. Mine didn't even want to 'adb reboot bootloader', it simply rebooted device back to system, and was pain in the ass for many things because It has custom download mode, it has custom boot sequence, everything is locked down... everything is different from everything else you're used to. Thank God back then a+b OTA system didn't exist, we'd never get any AOSP support not...
Do as g0at1 said - flash TWRP from Freegee, boot it to make sure it works, reboot back to system and flash newer TWRP from Flashify or any other tool like that one. I did have E988 (just Taiwan variant), and never had that much issues, nearly every time it was a straightforward 'flash JB KDZ, root it manually, Freegee, newer TWRP, backup, flash ROM', and trust me, that one was "revived" many times.
In the end, if even that doesn't help, flash CWM from Freegee, and update it with Philz Touch for E980. I think it will support Lollipop ROMs without any issues, just don't ever boot directly into it if you're not ready to mess with dd from recovery mode - always use adb.

This device was one of the hardest devices to work with... and I had Note N7000 with bad MMC which nearly bricked five times running unrooted stock firmwares Samsung provided. And Tegra-based Galaxy S2 clone with many hardware and software issues on stock... And many nameless devices with chips made by "big" vendors, like Allwinner, Rockchip etc which got some older CyanogenMod version builds with some or even complete success... And I never, never had that much issues porting stuff to any of these above, as I had with G Pro. Heck, working on a overclocking and underclocking for G Pro took me nearly two months of coding, testing, scratching everything off and starting from the beginning to just get it to some functional level and make it work as intended... and when I look at that code, I still have a feeling that it isn't completed and that some fixes are still necessary. I won't even start with GPU issues, I've spent more time than I'd like to admit on patching sessions.

I use SlimLP for a long time because it's the only one that works smoothly for me. You might not have any trouble flashing it Through the latest TWRP.
Have fun!
