Have been using Redmi 1S since long time...
Nd really enjoying this masterpiece from Xiaomi wit all the custom roms & custom kernel...
Developers are doing great work by providing us many varies one can go along with..
But the major reason i have created this thread is coz of this minor bug...which botheres me a lot.nd m damn sure everyone is facing it.....3% Battery Bug
If yiu notice..once ur battery reach to 3% it wont go lesser than it to 2% or 1% te fone would get off ....this bug is ever present in almosty every rom !!
I request developers to look after it and provide a solution !!
You can try to calibrate battery using apps just Google
Press thanks button if helped
Its not a bug its just the battery bar is showing wrong number. You can just download battery calibration in playstore then proceed to drain battery to zero and charge to 100 open battery calibration app then click the calibrate button
Smash that thanks button

Letting a lithium battery completely drain before charging it again is not good since it shortens the battery lifespan. You have less charging charging cycles before the battery becomes a useless brick. Charging the battery more often and not allowing to discharge deeply is much better for battery lifespan.
This looks like one of issues which do not need fixing since its more of a user error than anything else.
This is annoying bug on every custom ROMs I'm still facing it from cm11 to cm14.1 except in miui

i just flashed my samsung galaxy wonder to have CM-10.1 alpha6 a few days ago. and i realised that it drain battery very fast.. just simply fully charge it to 100% and left there with wifi, bluetooth and all applications off, yet the battery drained in half day..
if open 3G, the battery drain 30% in 20 minutes.
can sumeone tell me what's the problem and how can i solve it? thx a lots
Why don't you try to flash another kernel..
I personally recommend kernel by hurtsky, or by castagnaIT.
that's only my opinion..
you're welcome to try..

first, how old is your battery?
older than 1 yr, u should try getting a new battery.
mine was 1.4 yr old, battery drain when play game lasted 5 mins from fully charge to zero.

Well..
It's just the same way like how you flashed the cm10.1 rom..
Try to head to this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2218087
There's also an instruction on a proper way to flash it..
And don't forget to thanks him if you like his kernel
CM10.1 aka Android 4.2.2 uses higher voltage compared to CM10 and CM9(especially CM9).
So its understandable. But in CM10.1, SGW can use 1.0Ghz and still fluently do a lot of things.
Try underclocking and undervolting.

I have CM 10.2 everythings is ok..battery consumption is depends from life time of your battery then the number of apps and services activated...
Change to new battery
hmmm.... maybe it's because of your battery.. from my experience , you should buy new battery if the battery is used more than 1 year... i had experinced before when my battery drain faster, after i bought new battery.. the problem solved...
Guys. Stop telling him it´s the battery. If it were the battery the draining would be already that fast before flashing CM10.1, but not just after.
A bloated and aged battery can of course be the reason, but this doesn´t have to be always the case. My stock Samsung battery is already 2 years old but working like new. However I have to admit that I don´t use it that often. Having here 3 batteries I´m changing them regulary every few months.
This draining will be more related to the LCD version in his phone, which he should read about and check before flashing a CM10.1 based rom. Additionally the recent Google updates can cause even more battery drain than the LCD Rev.3 issue alone, which has to be taken also into account.
lately i have expereiced that aosp battery life is not better
stock rom has way better i had like 11 hours screen time with very little wifi and gps usage
please i have been flashing aosp and tochwiz roms lately and even kernels but iam not able to get required normal attery life
please share ur battery life tips and the rom and kernel ur using with
there should be a general thread about battery life tips what i noticed that note 2 might be the phone with custom roms worse battery life compared to stock
ive used greenify and just use my phone for chrome messages and call
please share good stasts and tips
there should be rom reviews by users about battery and stuff so people can know, its too much time consuming trying every rom and setting it up and in the end replaccing it
please its a request to all users
help other community members thanks
I've been using greenify and rescan media root for a while and I can notice the difference in battery life.

Battery life is normally driven by your kernel. However, chips are mass manufactured and as such are not identical. So what works well for me and my chip may not be brilliant for you.
Imo the only thing you can safely compare, regarding battery life, between two handsets is screen off time. The best I've experienced is 1% drain per hour. to get that I use jedix20 rom with the built in saber kernel.

Yes AOSP has weaker battery life.... just use 4.1.2 ROM for now, and wait for official 4.3

anyways ok sir i get ur point but atleast an average battery life stats post for everyrom in the market would really help alot
i still have no idea what they mean by great battery life good battery life etc
well my time on desire hd it was quite easy aosp roms had bettery battery then stock rom even and there were was time that it was a small phone would notice battery life in about 5-6 hours
what i wanted to ask was that if yr using aosp pls share ur stats on a dynamic thread with rom detail ive used searches several times but still no avil of info i need people/users should share mare info to the developers to the people so that it would make easy development
well basically what i noticed there are likke 50000 vies and blah blah stuff more then thousands of download and only 5-10 commetns in the bug and review section

No that drain is with screen off.
I understand your desire to get a 'league table' of roms/kernels to compare loss etc. However, I've seen people in these threads turn all power sappers off like wifi, mobile etc then leave the screen on on a dark picture just so they can say they've had 2 days of screen on time.
Would that really be real life use and helpful to anyone?
I play asphalt 8 and when I do my battery drains super quick maybe more than 20% an hour. Yet if I'm only Web surfing that 20% would last maybe 5 times longer. So how could you successfully compare that kind of usage?
That's why I think the only real safe comparison is to compare standby time with the screen off. Btw i leave my wifi permanently on.

I'm using PA 3.99 + Plasma 2.02 + DMG1 .
Everything stock.
Frozen apks with titanium : Network location, google backup transport ,fused location , earth ,cell broadcasts , Maps , News weather , Wallet and other apks that i'm not using.
Brightness 25%
Sync 2 gmails , contacts , internet , chrome
facebook
whatsapp
facebook Messenger
g+
and really lot of Apps about 80 in total
Getting about 30 hours + 5 hour screen time + 1 hour Voice calls on 2G
Can get pretty must 24+5hr scr with 3G too
But my main concern is , It does'nt handles the Radio very well , While Signal fluctuates or I'm on the move, battery drain is heavy , When i'm in good reception area without much movement then it does well. I don't know why. Sammy handles this much much better may'be the issue is with Radio/sensors/GPS drivers.

The rom Port beanstalk for our device is amazing for battery ..I use uber 4.4 kernel and set it on noop and ondemandx and i get a battery drain at about 1% an hour at idle . I suggest better battery stats to find any wakelocks that might prevent deep sleep . also install cpu spy and make sure that your phone is deep sleeping .. I have the best battery life using the rom port beanstalk not the official.. Also hellkat is excellent for battery life .. I tried them all and rom port by souns of math is the best .. My battery results are the best when i have data off when the screen shuts off..Making sure your device deep sleeps is the biggest key factor.. Most roms i have tried still drain at 3% and hour or more while deep sleeping.. A good indicator of battery life as far as i know is how it drains at idle..Sometimes i have even only .8% an hour drain . Also the beanstalk rom by sounds of math is a great rom it is my daily driver. If you have any other ? let me know ...Hit thanks if this helped .. As far as bluetooth streaming I can test it out when i get home
There's not that many ROMs my friend. Try them all and decide which one works best for you. That's the XDA way.
Remember to give them a few days to get a fair feel for each ROM.
Moderator Edit: These questions inevitably lead to disagreements and deter development. The best rom is the one that you enjoy. Thread closed.

without use, or better saying, 1h of music each day, plus standby about 23h, my battery lasts about 1 day. but i've already did it last less than 4h, with wifi, gps, 3g and everything else on. disable things that you don't need, battery will last a lot longer, doesn't matter the rom. there's no miracle to be done, with thin batteries. to last longer, batteries require to be bigger, it's more than logic this, but people today asks for an portable pc, vapor as battery and lasting longer, it's impossible to do that. but still, you can have an power bank, replace your battery for an new one, but that's it. still, in config, performance, processor, cpu manager, you can set "power save" and check "set on boot". battery will last longer, but your phone will become painfully slow

Hi everybody...I have this phone and I have a problem. When I charge the phone up to 100% battery and then take it from the charger, battery drops to 99 or less without phone usage...And when I go to sleep and then wake up,the phone lost about 10-15 percent...Can somebody plesase help me?
Check what's keeping your phone awake during idle, "wakelock detector" and "better battery stats". Though you need root for these. You've nor given us any details of what your phone is and what ROM?? Try searching for threads on how to calibrate your phone battery.
Ohh sorry...My phone is S4 mini GT-I9195 LTE....I have stock android 4.4.2 kitkat...I have already calibrated battery and bought new battery...But same problem...
Will be an app causing your phone to wake
I dont know...i searched on the web and someone said that stock kernel have some problems

Not always the case... Depends when and where your phone was made. Could be a faulty kernel or motherboard but it also could be an app or a setting on your phone or an unclean install. Have you always suffered this issue?
I got phone about 3 weeks ago...and the battery was very bad so i bought new one.I also tried CM 12.1 but the phone is heating in unnormal way but the battery there is better...
You have problems with motherboard. Go to service center to replace it on waranty.
Powered by CM12.1
But my phone isnt on waranty...i got it used haha....ahh nvm,i will live with that problem.thanks for help!
Bad luck then. Normal consumption for our device is 0.2 - 0.3 % per hour in stand by.
Powered by CM12.1
How long does yours battery last with some normal usage?
Almost 3 days with moderate usage.
Powered by CM12.1
Woww thats a very big difference haha.

Your best bet seeing as unless you pay for a new motherboard is to try one of the battery drain fix kernels on here. Though I think you may be limited to certain compatible ROMs.
Why are you not staying on cm 12.1? For me it's amazing, i observed at least 100% more battery efficiency than stock (4.2.2). I also observed the same problem with high temp too. But i think we can't have it all. When i play games and the outside temperature is about 35 celsius, i do not expect anything less, because this mobile is not designed for this android version. I think that's reasonable and i finally can use my mobile with a joyful way without having my mind always on the battery stats!
Sent from my GT-I9195 using XDA Free mobile app
Thanks guys! And i will try CM 12.1 for longer time to see if anything will be better!
