I am sure there are, give it time, It took a while before they came out on the s5.
You could probably flash the roms that are out for the s6 edge and the s6 kernel. It works for other variants.
The Sprint S5 wasn't poppin with ROMs until late June or so with the MOAR ROM kicking it off.... hoping to see similar with the S6 in about a month :fingers-crossed:

Yes, I hate CM though, TW is the best
I've thought about trying this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-axism-unity-tweaks-livewire-dual-fs-t3112799 but haven't gotten around to it yet.
I was going to attempt that also, but I read that someone tried it on Sprint and it turned into no service/data. It booted, but not usable. I saw that there is development in the Sprint Edge forum. I wonder how different the phones are. Maybe the dev there knows a little more about getting something rolling on our phone. Coming from the HTC One, I'm itching to flash something haha

You can flash the rom for the edge on the non edge with no problems. You'll just have to flash the non edge kernel afterwards.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to try this out.
Edit: it works great, thanks for the heads up. Only issue is the fingerprint scanner not working. Seems to be kernel based issue. We only have one available kernel for our device, correct?

There's ktoonz kernel. Not sure if that will fix it or not though. We have the hybridmax kernel on the s6e and that fixed our fingerprint issues.
Ktoonz did not unfortunately. Do you know what they had to change in the kernel to fix the issue

This kernel supports the Sprint S6. You can test that one and see if the fingerprint scanner works.

I tried that kernel and it hung on boot. I read through some comments and it's loss like they pulled Sprint support (of course). I'll do some searching later and see if I can't pull the stock kernel from somewhere. Thanks Carr

I can't remember the name of it, it was the only custom ROM I saw in the Edge forum though. Everything worked perfect except some of the tweaks didn't do anything and the fingerprint scanner didn't work.
Is the finger print scanner only good for unlocking the phone?

I'd be curious to know what kernel as well. You try eri n apns for service? Wifi might be the same fix we've used for 2.3.5+ issues in the past as well since our kernel is technically built for 2.3.4.

hey barnacles,
if you grab the 'official' rom from miui.com or even the int'l sgs2 miui port from xda, all you need to do is swap the zimage with one of the epic 4g touch's (like LoStKernel) and it will boot up and function (maybe what the OP of this thread did, didn't download to see). Data and wifi were no go. If I remember, the cameras were working though unlike what this OP says. I've been working on this here and there but I definitely dont have as much free time as I'd like as I'm getting ready to move to the other side of the earth.
I'll be more than happy to answer questions and/or help development going as soon as I can put some time aside to work on this.

I'm not a fan of the MIUI ROM(its to iPhone-ish IMHO) but I still wanted to say thank you for this post. Although I know it wasn't its purpose, it did point me to the SkyRocket's Development, and Themes & Apps Section, and man do they have some goodies over there, which I never would've found had it not been for this post, so thanks again!
so you essentially made small tweaks and got aosp based rom from sgs2 int to boot? if so, nice. I wonder if this works with CM7 as well.
Omggggg we need to get this rolling. I thought someone was already working on a port for MIUI? What is this for? Excited nonetheless lol.

I have installed this kernel on my AT&T 4.3 touchwiz and its working like charm.
So Ive never had a device (even on sprint) that has no development to be seen within a weeks period of time. I believe the Root we have is from other devices and the CM 10.2 build that was posted was something that was supposed have never seen the light of day and was broken. I totally love this phone but I was really excited for the development aspects since its basically nexus 5 with a different shell. Anyone else with the sprint variant a little worried by the lack of interest?
I'm on the same boat, many probably are.
This phone is still solid stock.. all I really need is tethering... patiently waiting

Development is under way. There are 2 devs working on a CM 10.2 ROM right now and another working on a version of CleanROM for us. Its going to take some time and the phone hasn't been out for a week yet.
Also the CM 10.2 ROM was removed because the build was not tested and verified by the dev to be working and they removed the links to it in case it caused a potential brick to the phone. People who downloaded the ROM say it had GPS lock and rotation issues so you don't want to download the ROM anyways. In fact they saved you the hassle of reverting back to stock or a nandroid backup. Read the last few posts in that CM 10.2 thread to get a sense of the situation.
I am not worried at all about the "lack of interest" in this phone. You have to remember that not all the potential devs have received the phone yet such as garwynn who probably just received the phone today. Lets give the potential devs some time to come out with new ROMs and other mods. There are enough ways currently to mod the current stock ROM anyways through Xposed and other mods like (increase volume).
Its only been a week. Our device was rootable even before Sprint released it. I'm not worried. For now I've been using Greenify + Titanium Backup to keep my phone in battery/performance BEAST MODE.
Sent from my LG-LS980 using xda app-developers app
Install G2 xposed and you'll see you can do a lot of the customization yourself. There's also an xposed kitkat theme in the theme's section by ock. The device is already fast and ignoring aosp roms, you can customize the stock rom to your liking.

I was just noticing that compared to devices I've had in the past (even the SGS II which I hated lol) had some things pop up pretty quickly. Also make sure that no one takes this as me complaining, just thinking out loud here.
And as to the xposed stuff, Im atually just interested in some slimed down stock roms and AOSP, but thanks for making sure I knew about it
PS: Ive also had this phone for close to a month so Im probably feeling that rom flash bug harder than most XD

I am a little skeptical. We could not get CM12 to work, however if you have succeeded in getting Marshmallow/CM13 to boot and run on our device then indeed we will all love you. Waiting patiently....

If you're just going to give it a marshmallow look and feel then don't waste your time. That's not "making a ROM", that's theming a ROM.
If you're actually building it then I'd be excited to give it a shot, I don't use the device for anything other than experimentation so I'd be excited to give it a shot.
I'll be keeping an eye on progress to see how it goes.

Obviously not, you don't see him replying when I asked do you, if there was progress it would be posted below me.
I think they chickened out because they weren't going to actually build lollipop, I think they were going to theme a Kit Kat ROM and they know we would have figured it out and embarrassed them.

Meant to say marshmallow, but that's mincing words, the point was there has been no reply, no ROM and no updates.

Why do people even bother making a thread with nothing to show. "Hey guys, I'd like to share this rom..oh wait, there's NOTHING there." Why even bother wasting the bandwidth of this site without any actual proof of concept. Actions > Words.

I think the OP chickened out because he wasn't actually going to make a ROM, I believe he was going to theme a JB or KK ROM to look and feel like MM without actually being MM and they changed their mind based on our replies here because they knew we would see that they actually did not build anything.

Linux guy you can do this . Build us a MM rom !!
Compiling the ROM shouldn't be that hard. It would just take time with adding the right radio, kernel and recovery. If I remember correctly, the sprint s2 Roms have recoveries built into them for whatever reason...

Check out Lanchons thread on XDA. ISO-REC (isolated recovery) kernel and CWM recovery for CM 11 available now for the D710. Works great. I believe it is now possible for our device to have CM 12/13 to boot and run. I am trying to compile a working/booting CM 12. Will tame some time as my time for such is limited. We still have good support for our device.
