Messed up with the Hidden Menu - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I decided to mess around with the hidden menu on the G3 and evidently I did something I was unaware of. My issue is i cannot get an lte data connection now. I have contacted att and my account is setup correctly so It must be something i did while in the hidden menu. I have no idea what though as i thought i didnt do anything. On my old note 3 If you messed up stuff in the hidden menu there was a dialer code that would undo all of it. Is there something like this for the g3? I have tried restoring back to stock to no avail.
Also when i was on cloudy 2.2 i couldnt select gms/wcdma/lte auto. if that means anything.
Any help or suggestions would be great

so im guessing u have att lg g3. on the hidden menu:
LTE Only>Modem Settings>RAT Selection
Choose : GSM / WCDMA / LTE Auto

i dont have RAT selection

LTE/CDMA 3G/4G Setting Stuck on WCDMA Preffered

Using the dialer code *#*#4636#*#* I have changed the setting from "LTE/GSM/WCDMA" to "WCDMA Preffered". I did this to see the difference in battery life being connected to HSPA+ & 3G compared to LTE which I was connected to before.
The Problem is the setting is stuck on "WCDMA Preffered". No matter what I do, when I select something with LTE in it if I exit the test menu and go back in with the dialer code it is back on "WCDMA Preffered".
Things I have tried:
1. Re-Flash ROM
2. Flash a different ROM
3. Re-Flash the Modem I747MVLLE8
4. About every possible combination of turning on/off the radio and disabling data connection and rebooting
I'm on Rogers running Ultimatum ROM and Faux's Kernel.
I'm hoping somebody knows of a way to get this setting back even if it involves flashing something with Odin or reformatting my phone or going back to 100% stock. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

In case anyone encounters this I solved the problem by flashing cm10, which has a working toggle in the menu. Im sure using odin to flash the stock firmware would also work.

I'm in the same boat. For some odd reason my ATT S3 is unable to get LTE in any roms except LoserRom and Stock 4.0.1. Even when I update to stock 4.1.1 with Samsung Kies I an unable to get LTE. I've tried CM10 any many other roms, but can't get LTE on them. Also checked the network and mine is stuck on WCDMA Preferred. Unable to change. I would select LTE and it would change it right back even on CM10. Any ideas?
Did you try changing it using the menu in settings when on cm10 or stock JB? Instead of the dialer code.
I used the settings menu in cm10 to change it and the change stuck. Then I used Odin to flash the stock 4.1.1 firmware that I got from samfirmware and it stayed on LTE through that transition. There is also a setting for network mode in the menu's in 4.1.1
Other than that I'm out of ideas.

Yes i did try it on cm10 menu. I go ti the network selection and see it on wcdma preferred. Click it and select the lte. Right when i hit back it changes right back to wcdma preferred. In the stock 4.1.1 its not changeable. It says the default is selected. The only way i can see the options are if i pop the sim up but not out. The phone will say sim removed. When i go to the setting then the options are available.

Just happened to me.. changed it to WCDMA via *#*#4636#*#* and it is stuck there now.. any solutions??
I'm in a similar situation.
I flashed with SynergyROM and the Modem for Rogers and have lost LTE connectivity and the setting is stuck on WCDMA.
It's like punishment for being awesome.
Go to APN settings make up an APN.....then switch to it.....then quickly hit the dialer code *#*#4636#*#* and when you see the radio disconnect ("unknown" network)....switch the toggle.......tada!

There should be a pull down window after you go into device info. that should read lte/cmda/gsm if stock....it will read something else if its "stuck" on something else...
Galaxy S III I747
Go to [Settings -> More... -> Mobile Networks -> Network operators]
Click on ATT to reregister the network then switch it from lte to gsm/wcdma on Network Mode and it should work but after reboot you have to do it all over again.

[Q] Accidentally changed the freq bands via *#*#4636#*#*

Hi,
while i was messing around with the network setting via *#*#4636#*#* menu, I accidentally selected the USA bands, and it has caused me to not able to make any phone calls or even be connected to the network.
It does not allow me to change back to the default bands I was - international
Understand that this seems to be quite common mistakes across different devices.
But specifically for Desire 816, anyone can help me with this? My device is not rooted (i'd like to keep it taht way) and bought unlock.
Anyone? I'd be super grateful! Panicking like crazy right now...

Hey its simple and worked on mine!
Got to *#*#4636#*#*, then enable Flight mode using the Power menu, or your status bar toggle, then click Select Radio Band and you should see Automatic, now before you select it, disable flight mode. Hope it works, else in order to reset RSD settings, you need to factory reset (unless u root ofc)

[Q] Network Reverting to GSM/WCDMA Only

Hi,
I bought a 2nd hand G3 from a store recently and have noticed that under network settings even if I select GSM/WCDMA/LTE as soon as I leave the menu it reverts to GSM/WCDMA only. It sometimes finds and attaches to the 4G network but prefers the HSPA network and connects to that as a priority even if 4G is in the area.
I've done a rom flash with clear option and done a factory reset but that option continues to stay set to GSM/WCDMA so wondered if somebody had changed something in the hidden menus and that I might need to change it back and what setting might need changing?
I've tried 2 official rom flashes just to make sure it wasn't a bug, they are the 10G and the 10J roms, the 10J being whats installed now.
Any ideas anyone??
Go to dial press 3845#*your phones model and then press # like 3845#*855# then go to lte only and then go to modem settings and then rat selection and then choice what you want
Tried that makes no difference. As soon as you leave the menu it still reverts back

Titanium Backup
I'm not rooted so titanium backup won't work
I have the exact same problem, after you choose GSM/WCDMA/LTE and exit the menu it goes back to GSM/WCDMA im on D855 with 10i not rooted.
Ok so it might be a software thing with the later builds? I'm on 10j at the moment and have done factory reset full reflash the lot, so thought it might be something that had previously been done in the hidden menu.

I was using 10a-eur before and everything was fine im using 10i-global wich i updated with lgflashtool, so im guessing either that is the problem (eur to global) or its with the update itself.
I'd guess then it's in the update 10i/j

If you do not want to root you could consider to flash it back to the v10 version that did not gave you any problems with it! But the most easy way is to root it using purpledrake and then install titanium backup and delete the lteconfig!

So i rooted my phone and did all that it seems to be working now but if i want to remove root i have to reinstall the kdz wich means it will go back to not working again right?
edit: just tested myself root gone and it goes back to not staying on LTE damm bug -.-
I rooted, removed the lte file and flashed it and had the same problem, so I downloaded the 10h kdz again and it fixed it, so the 10g and 10j files I had must contain the duff lte file

I agree with you! I flashed few days ago the10j files and I noticed that 2G/3G/4G was missing. Today I decided to reflash the D85510H_00. This .kdz files are suitable for my IMEI. I downladed from http://lg-firmware-rom.com/. Now 2G/3G/4G is active. I think that will help!
For those who aren't rooted, try NOT going into the "Mobile Networks" menu to switch to "GSM/WCDMA/LTE".
Try this instead.
-Go into dialer and dial in 3845#*855#
-Select "LTE-Only" and go into "Modem Settings"
-select "RAT Selection" and select "GSM / WCDMA /LTE auto"
See if this helps you retain LTE. If it does, do NOT go into "Mobile Networks" or switch to "2G only" because I have that it disables my LTE when I do that.

I tried that, it goes into 4g sometimes but it preferes 3g/2g conections for some reason, switched to 10h eur and it shows on the network menu lte enabled and it works fine.

I'm having the same problems, but I finally get LTE working
Same for me. But I don't have LTE yet. So didn't bother too much.
maybe you can try this:
FIX 4G PROBLEMS
edit build.prop
- look for 'telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=0' and change it to 'telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=1'
look for 'ro.semc.version.fs=GLOBAL-HSPA' and change it to 'ro.semc.version.fs=GLOBAL-LTE'
reboot your phone
type *#*#4636#*#*
Select phone informations (first menu)
turn off radio
in network prefered I've selected TD-SCDMA, LTE, CDMA, EvDO GSM/WCDMA
turn on radio again
exit
type *#*#4636#*#* again and look in network prefered, it will be on LTE/GSM auto (PRL) and 4G should be there

Re issue with LTE/4G
Hello,
i got my phone back from SONY's technical services, cause i had a bunch of issue (i sent it twice in a month).
For now, the battery drain isseu seems to be fixed, but i do not have 4G/LTE.
I already encounter this issue, and after the service menu manipulation, everything got back in order.
I tried to do the same manipulations, but i can't turn off radio. It's like it was locked.
Any ideas ?
Thanks for helping.
