Hi
I have a RedMi 1S running V45 (Indian Version). I am using this mobile since last 1 month. I am facing a strage issue with the phone.
Whenever the battery drains completely and the phone get switched off, it is taking forever to switch on the phone even after charging. I atleast need to charge it for 1 or 2 hours to see something on the screen. Its like the phone is completely dead.
I tried taking of the battery and inserted it and then charged. At this stage only thing I notice is the status LED glows in RED for a couple of seconds and like dead. After one or 2 hours, I see that LED starts blinking in RED. After this I need to wait for another 30 min or 1 hour to be able to switch on the phone. It is like the phone is taking almost 2 hours to get the initial charge to switch on the phone.
Is anyone facing same kind of issue?
Thanks
No mine is fine..
It only takes about 10-15s normally to gain initial charge to boot up !
Maybe some issue with charging?
No such issue faced yet. Once mine got fully discharged , but started in few seconds of charging.
Issue with the Charger
Hi
Looks like issue/compatibility with the Charger. I was using Samsung 2.5A charger which I bought for old mobile. Today, I tested with the original MI charger and the phone immediately showing the charging status. The MI original charger is 2A one. But still I think it has some compatibility issue with other chargers.
Thanks for your replies.
Dont!!!
@mail2eswar Please Dont use any other charger except xiaomi charger!! Its Snapdragon 400 8228 and it actually supports Qualcomm Quick charge 2.0 but its not working (donno bcaz of kernel or its locked) So if u use any other charger u'll end up in SoC failures :silly: and leads Motherboard replacement!!!! :cyclops:

Don't ever use another's phone as your Charger. Different V and A are the main cause of your issue.

Did you get any solution for this issue I'm facing the same the same problem. I'm unable to restart my redmi 1s
Eaxct same problem on my Redmi 1S
Exactly the same issue with mu Redmi 1S. Initially everything was fine. Then one day I lost my original Charger (1 Amp) , and I started looking for a replacement charger. I got one 2 Amp Fast charger from a local store and initially everything was fine and the Phone used to charge fine but then it wont hold the charge for too long. So I started using my Redmi Note4 charger which again is a 2 Amp charger.
But as I see is that if my phone is once drained fully, it is not easy to start back. 2 Amp charger connected for 3 hours straight did'nt help, apart from the intermittent flicker of the LED once a while. No battery charging animation on the screen.
Then I took 1.2 Amp Nexus Charger and behold the full screen battery charging animation pops up immediately. I could start my phone while charging.
My inference is that get an original Xiaomi Redmi 1S (1 Amp) charger if you can. Or else suffer like me
i have the same problem . did you fix it
exactly same problem here. Difference is that I'm using Redmi 1s for more than 3 yrs and suddenly out of nowhere these happened ( after battery discharged its not starting and a red led is blinking, even removing battery and connecting to the charger didn't work). Someone mentioned here not to use different charger, probably they r right bcz I used samsung charger while this happened. Went to Mi Authorized Servicing Centre they told Motherboard is damaged and will cost Rs. 4800/-. No way man! my Mi was of 5999/- not gonna fix it with 4800/-. I'll rather go for a new one.
can i solve this problem by changing another os
Yes You are right. Today after complete battery drain, I have connected phone to another charger that time LED on mobile start blinking so I assume that it started charging while it was not. After another one hr I tried to switched on but it was not switching on so I was worried and I started searching solution, Strangly when I connected Orignal Charger , it immediately shows battery symbol which was showing 0% charge. Thanks to this thread which help me to find solution.
Hey, so this happened a while ago but I hadn't been able to look into it until now, I have an Optimus G E977 Bootloader unlocked running Carbon Rom-gee with Justins Matr1x kernel, everything seemed to be fine. I left it charging overnight like usual and it was working fine, however the next morning it was turned off and it just wouldn't turn on, when connected to the charger or a PC only the led light will turn on, with a red color and it will stay there on, it won't blink or anything, letting it charge does nothing. So I was wondering if you guys could share your experience with me, could it be a battery issue like the Nexus 4s red light of death or is my motherboard death?
If you want more details feel free to ask me anything.

This has happened too Me too.. This happens due to unlocked bootloader because the phone turns on automatically when its charged if its off ; so if you've drained your battery completely (ie ;It wasn't charging overnight in your case) the phone Will never charge ..
You can charge it by using a more powerful charger like a 2A charger .. The galaxy note 2 has a 2A stock charger .. Use it to charge the phone and you are all done..
Next time don't let the battery below 5 %

No dice :/ tried using a Note 3 charger, but nothinf happens, the permanently on red led is there the moment I connect the phone and that's how it stays, also it kind of got heated up. I don't think the bootloader is the problem since it has already reached 0% before and it has never been an issue. I never did update with the 4.4.2 KDZ so maybe thats why I don't have a 0% problem.

What I did was I inserted the USB to phone and PC and started flashing KDZ, got in download mode and started... After which phone died
What I did was:
Connect to 2amp wall charger
Pressed power button repeatedly
And after 10 mins it started up

I think the Note 3 has a usb 3.0 charger which might be unsupported.. Try to use a note 2 charger instead ..

Hey guys it has been a while since i used my Note 2, i had custom cyanogen rom v12 stable running it..
The phone has been off for a month.. i wanted to use it again so at first it wouldn't start, figured it would be battery ran out so plugged it for charge yet not battery symbol/logo of charging came out as it used to do.. i let it for about half an hour plugged in and tried to turn it on yet nothing happened.
i also tried download mode and recovery yet also not booting into them.
My brother has a functioning Note 2 so i thought maybe the issue is battery wise, so i switched batteries between both phones,
[the battery that was originally in my phone now in the functioning other phone... AND IT CHARGED NORMALLY]
[the battery taken from the other phone and put it into mine didn't charge!!!]
What's the problem with my phone?? how can it brick by itself after just leaving it turned off for a month.
I hope i can find a solution for it
Regards
Are you using the original Samsung cable and charger with the phone?

yeah the official cable.
I don't know why the phone failed on its own
Maybe try a 2.0 amp charger? Was the phone exposed to moisture?
Does the phone actually function properly now that the battery is charged? You could try disassembling the phone and removing the charging port and cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol and baking just the port on a cooking sheet in the oven for 5 minutes at 350 degrees. This fixed my Note II when it wouldn't charge after I dropped it in water
I also have a similar problem. I was on dn4 rom when this started my phone didn't even alow me to flash a rom so I used Odin aand failed the first time and thankfuly it worked the 2nd time. Now the phone is better than before but if I unplug it turns off and tries to reboot but stays on the note 2 logo and also if the battery is on 82% and it reboots it can jump all the way to 4%.
Problem is that the phone was left in my closet untouched for a whole month, i changed the battery and was sure it was 100% charged...
[no note 2 logo , no nothing] .. the phone is black and doesn't turn on
Its not a battery issue more than i think its the faulty rom that ruined it

how did odin recognized your phone when it can't turn on?
I bet the display backlight failed or burnt out.

The phone could only go into download mode. Also if I try to turn it on, it would only show the note 2 logo and won't go any further. Yesterday I tried an aftermarket battery with my phone and it was able to boot past the note 2 logo.

No that's not the case, samsung said that if a display backlight dies, the phone still vibrates when you turn it on... that's what tells if the screen display is burnt out or not
Yesterday I connected my phone to the charger before sleeping like usual but the other day when i tried to use it the screen would not wake up. The led was blinking red , i disconnected the charger and held the power button to see if anything would happen but the led just went off . My Note 2 is dead till then . Tried moving the battery , entering recovery or download modes but nothing happens, no led , no vibration and no sign of life. Has someone faced this issue, can someone help me? With some research i found out about the insane chip problem with some note devices, is my device dead because of that? Is there any fix?
Hello my freind same thing hapoened to my note 2 two years ago .my phone is dead too but its back to life with jtag ( boot) It was not me who repaired it.Do not worry Bring it to a repairman good luck
Been using Lineage OS for a few months and phone was running smooth and battery still strong.
Never had any unusual crashes etc, and gave me no need to upgrade.
Yesterday it would no longer turn on and trying to hard/soft reset only had the 1st RED LED blink occasionally.
Battery is at 3.75V and appears fine with no past problems.
Tried with power cord, left battery out over night but still no boot.
Took to a legit repair shop and they said if it doesn't boot they can't diagnose etc...
Is it time to finally replace the Note II? Doesn't have a scratch on it and always taken care of.
Only reason for Lineage OS was that a few apps no longer worked with the last Note II Android OS 4.1?
Any help is very much appreciated.
