[Q] Not booting samsung galaxy tab 3 - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello all,
if tried to root my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 using this tuturial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2531784
but because i had some problems putting the file in the tabs memory i switched to another tuturial afther step 5 (so yes i did use that file that i had to put in odin)
afther that i stept to the tuturial from this site:
http://androidxda.com/root-samsung-galaxy-tab-3-10-1-gt-p5210
cause i only had to use an file that i can put in odin.
it worked perfectly but when it should of rebooted automaticly it didnt.
so if searched on google came to ur site again and found out that there was an problem with rebooting. the defices where not able to turn of and had to wait till the battery died then recharge and it worked. but my problem is slightly different so im out of answeres.
my problem is that the tab wont go further than the screen wich says Samsung GALAZY TAB 3 so mine does not compleately start up.
if tried to press down power button and volume down button for 5 secs then relese volume down button and hold power for 5 secs longer
also tried power down button for about 10 secs to reboot.
and tab screen and power button for 10 secs
so since that didnt work i tried to get back into the download menu or the recovery menu but since it wont go further than the Samsung GALAXY TAB 3 screen i also cant come there. so my pc and odin also do not find my tab.
does someone please please have an sollution for this :crying:
EDIT: well if figured out that this is a brick and might of found the sollution on ur site:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2604681
but i cant use this sollution aslong as the tab wont connect to the pc. so could anyone please please tell me how i can get into the download mode screen ?

to get download mode you must press and hold the Home + Volume Down + Power buttons simultaneously for 3 to 5 seconds until you see the warning screen.

holding down the power button has this exact effect.
I believe your power button might be permanently stuck 'in' - if it doesn't feel this way, try slipping a pin (only a tiny way and while the phone is OFF and UNPLUGGED from any socket) into the gap between the power button and the phone casing. it's a small gap but give it a little wiggle. with any luck it will come unstuck.
good luck !
Beginning to see a pattern here folks......I've commented on two other threads about exactly this problem......it's definitely a faulty power button. Officially the only way to sort it is to get the entire main board replaced.....if you have the standard 2 year warranty....use it.....
The phone won't boot normally, so there's no way Samsung can tell what OS you're running and try to claim 'warranty void' so just go for it....
This might be my S2, or it might be my W...but it's definitely CM
Just posting here to report about my phone with a very similar issue.
Like what the others have said in this thread, its the power button. I just came from the repair shop and they replace mine with a new power button. The phone works perfectly now.
thanks for the info mate. will try to change the power button.

[Q] N7100 Can't Boot Download Mode

Dear all,
Here is the story what happened exactly to my phone.
2 weeks ago my phone restarted by it self and stuck on the Samsung logo, I download the stock rom and flash it with odin. (My power button wasn't working very well but it did the job), after a while my power button completely went out of service. so whenever I needed to restart the phone I always do the battery trick and I have no problem with that.
4 days ago my phone restarted again and stuck on the Samsung logo and sense the power button wasn't working, I couldn't get access to the download mode, so Yesterday I bought a new power button and its working perfectly. but now I cant access the download mode.
Here is what happened to the phone when I pressed the vol down and menu button + power button the Samsung galaxy note II GT-N7100 logo flashed for a couple of times then it loads to the Samsung logo where it is stuck.
I tried the vol up + down with the pc cable nothing, i tried to get into the recovery mode nothing, and still note able to get in the download mode.
So please help me to get into the download mode so i can be able to flash the stock rom through odin again.

[Q] First Gen Bricked Tab

Hey guys I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S and it's my first Samsung. It is brand new and I was just looking through apps then found this mysterious superuser app. I wanted to record and needed to use this app. After doing research I finally found how to root my device and did so. It didn't work the first time but retried it and it worked! It said I rooted my tablet on my computer but when I look down to my tablet it is on the "Samsung GALAXY Tab S" screen also known as the Bootup screen. It doesn't do anything once it goes on. Now I have been waiting for 30 - 45 mins and nothing happened. I have tried re - rooting it and using Kies 3 to fix it. But sadly nothing worked. Thanks for reading this and if you can please help me out.
P.S. - My Samsung is a Galaxy Tab S

Try holding power, vol up and down, and home buttons at the same time and it should force reboot. Then quickly press power, home and vol down to get into download mode. Then flash stock firnware. What root did you use?

Phone bricked, no download mode, can't recover

So, as the title says. My phone decided to do a little update through OTA. All fine, all good.
However, during the update it suddenly switched off and rebooted. Then a nice screen popped up with the ominous message: "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use smart switch to restore the firmware". Great!
So, hooked up the phone to that app, but it says unsupported device. The emergency recovery list also remains empty. Thus, a little Google-fu later and it seemed I could also do it with Odin. I know Odin, so no problem.
Downloaded the latest firmware with Frija, extracted, loaded into Odin. Then, I tried to enter download mode by holding vol up+down while plugging in the device. No dice, still the error message. Tried it countless times with different timings, but it simply will >not< enter download mode.
I cannot turn the phone off either. Anyone knows what to do? All stores are closed for the next 2 months due to Corona so I have no phone at the moment.
ohhhhh wait to open samsung store to fix

power button & volume - for 7 secs , release when it vibrates , and immediately power button ( for 1 sec and release ) & volume + ( keep pressed ) , to get into recovery
From recovery there is an option to get into download mode
Requires perfect timing , yes ! but you will get it right
Cheers

The buttom combos do no longer work. It seems there is no download mode or recovery anymore.
Anyway, the phone now completely died on me so I have to sent it in for repairs. It will no longer even charge or turn on anymore.

Did they repair it?
I'm having the same problem. Ugh. Can't get into recovery mode
To go into download mode at least on the n975u model you turn off the phone then hold volume up and down and insert the usb cable. It should boot into the download mode.
here is the solution
keep it running to empty out the battery
make sure its dead by powering up ur device
if u r sure its dead, keep pressing the combo and connect u r device to pc.
congrats,

And from there i think if you plug it in to odin you will find that the phone is still in download mode despite not showing the correct screen. Ive flashed firmware before with the triangle warning screen on instead of download mode, it works fine. So long as there is a blue indicator showing in odin then you can flash the device.

This is the actual answer. The error that op originally got is still in fact download mode.

My brother you saved my life thank you
To anyone coming across this thread, I had the same issue as OP. Bought a "new" Galaxy S10e SM-G970F which turned out to be SM-G970N. Everything worked except updates, but I managed to flash the latest version through ODIN.
A few months later, when I tried to flash a new version, the ODIN transfer stopped mid-way and the phone rebooted to a lightblue screen with korean letters and "Smart Switch" written in English. However, Smart Switch declared that the model is not supported for reinitialization.
I tried to reach download mode somehow, as the phone could not be turned off using a key combination or via PC at this state. What @GeeAyeZee and @pcriz said is absolutely correct, THIS SCREEN IS INDEED CONSIDERED DOWNLOAD MODE.
I persisted with ODIN, trying to flash the new version 2-3 more times (rebooting the phone and PC between attempts) until eventually the process completed! Phone is unbricked. Hope this helps someone.
