Now that I know how to unlock the bootloader, how should i get android 5 on my T3 after unlocking the bootloader? The people at sony developer world won't tell me that. Is there someone that wants to help me and many others?

Hi, there are some posts about that already on the forum, we dont have official update do android 5, but we have some builds, they're not complete.
The best we got so far still missing 4G and camera I think.. So I dont think you should update yet you can try it, there are some instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...reexperia-project-aosp-android-5-x-x-t2983733

Anyone is intersted in MIUI ui rom, for me is beautifull and fast! we can have on defy?
a direct port is rather unlikely bcause of the locked bootloader, i think.
we'll have to wait what project bootloader freedom comes up with.
but i dont think that MIUI will make it to the defy.

Currently there's an article on the front page of DroidForums.net too.
Looks they're going to make one for defy, if possible.
Don't know much about ROM modifications etc... I have done it before since I am good at directions...
I am just a little confused... All the reports say bootloader is locked and no hack etc. Thought bootloader had to have unlock/hack to apply roms...
Why are there a number of ROMs in the dev section... just for the people that were unable to unlock on day 1?
Mainly looking for maybe a ROM with stock android or tweaks or something. Would like to upgrade android when VZW basically drops OS support in 6mo..
The community will get the phone unlocked. Even if most of us can't use them yet, it's good for the developers to be doing some groundwork in the meantime.

For those and for those who use a method, such as a java card (which gives you S-OFF, not an unlocked bootloader).
Hi everyone I'm new in this forum and I don't know anything about this smartphone world but I have some questions about my personal Xperia M. First of all I want to apologize for my bad english coz I hate web-traductors so I don't use them.
A friend told me I should install CM11 (Cyanogenmod If I remind correctly) in my smartphone coz it'd be better, I've tried to find some information in Google in my language coz I barely undertand the english technicisms for smartphones but I didn't fund anything so I decided to post in this forum.
I heard tha there is no official version for my smartphone and If I install an unofficial version this can broke my smartphone, is that true? Do you guys think that the CM11 is advisable for my Xperia? I want to know if It'll improve the performance.
How should I start If I want to install CM11 in my Xperia M? I'll let you some information:
Xperia M Android version 4.3
Xperia M C1905
Never rooted it (I dont how how to do it)
Greetings!

I am also a newbie to Android like you
Do you have a PC with you?
Then why don't you make root access on your phone?
About 75% of my installed apps requires root to get its full potential.
I am on XMD (2004).
otherwise I would help to root your phone.
there maybe many threads for rooting your handset (1905)
CM11 is one of the greatest option for the beginners i have ever seen!!!.Pros Are -
1. Extended Battery Life
2. improved performance
3. KikKat UI
I think you can go for it

& its 'cons' ?
I have heard that many options will not work with CM as it is still on beta stage! is it right?
also if I couldn't lock my boot loader, I will loose my warranty also.

no problem with CM. cuz you can always lock BootLoader via flashtool and there are some minor bugs ( No problems to the user with these bugs)
As we all know CWM for our devices is for unlocked bootloaders only (as it is embedded into kernels). This is no good for a lot of us due to our locked bootloaders.
This thread will be used to discuss ideas on how to get CWM working on our devices, progress we have made, how we have made the progress etc. It should not be used for idle chit-chat, asking for ETA's, requests etc. I will ignore anything what isn't development related.
All of us who are looking to get it working should post here and share our progress, knowledge and information. If we work together we will make a lot more progress than working alone.
So, without further ado. Let's get this started.
I'm assuming that the best OS to start building CWM on would be Linux as android is based off of it.
@Toledo_JAB has informed me that the Xperia ION has recently had a breakthrough for locked bootloaders, it may be worth us checking there too.
Anybody else got any ideas?
No, we are newbie :crying:
Check out Xperia L's CWM for LB. It would be easy for porting.
I've tried to load CWM on locked bootloader, it was a success but the method was too dirty. There were some issues and glitches. The issues can be resolved easily.
Now the problem is that I don't have XM anymore to test. So, I didn't made any progress.
Ask NUT or any dev out there in XL forums. they'll help.

What issues and glitches did you get? Also, could you upload the files what you had? Maybe we could take a look at it and try to fix them.
Dear all. Recently bought a G40F and ever since I was on the lookout for custom ROM support. more specifically, a well tested and "straight forward" custom ROM installation sequence. for a noob like me that's very important.
although Moto shares their kernel source code to custom rom devs, the ROM scene for G40/G60 is nowhere comparable to other phones like Poco X3. Im guessing thats because it's launched only in the Indian market(so far) and it hasnt attracted a lot of devs worldwide. well, its a shame tbh.
I have scoured the internet and was disappointed to find nothing of that sort. just a pile of generalized guides(beware of bricking) which is just copy pasted for every devices out there, probably for clicks and running ads. Yet, thank god I found this guy Selva Kumar A. He wrote a detailed guide and tested it on his own G40, and also has a guide if you happen to brick it.
once again, i am a noob and this would be my first custom ROM. So don't take my word for it. I am here reaching out to the community hoping to find better opinions and corrections to the techniques mentioned above. If any Devs reading this, please spare some time to evaluate this. bricking my phone is such a nightmare, but I want root access and try out some cool stuff.
Bootloader is not unlockable at the moment
Correct me if I'm wrong.
With an unlocked bootloader I can root the phone.
whereas for installing a custom ROM I should wait until a developer makes one that'd fit g40f, which also requires a unlocked bootloader

bro I'm guessing you're that youtuber no? Would you suggest I return this phone and wait until Poco x4 or something that'd have a big community support, hence custom roms n everything

As per my understanding, someone has to make a custom tailored rom to fit every model that's out there
Yeah , but bootloader's not unlockable right now!
Unlocking through adb , it says failed to load unlock data
Moto saif we are working to solve it!

Yeah already its there
50% build is already complete, rest needs an unlocked G40, if you somehow unlock BL of G40, reach Dev's through official moto G40/g60 Tlgrm group

I am eagerly waiting for bootloader to be unlocked by Devs. Hope they find a way soon to do it.
