[HELP] Bricked (?) Xperia S - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Hello everyone!
I opened this thread because my current situation seems different from ones I found on this forum, but if you think otherwise please direct me to links that I might need. Before I start with explaining please have in mind that I am quite newbie to anything regarding Android platform and consequently my actions might not have been the smartest ones there. So let me start: I think i hard bricked my Xperia S. I had my Xperia running ROM 1252-0023_6.2.B.1.96_GENERIC-user that i found on this forum. It was a temporary solution, I wanted to put a stock ROM and was about to flash another stock ROM before that. While flashing with flashtool an error occurred (unfortunately I didn't save log file) that had to do something with system.sin . Anyways, my phone is atm unable to turn on, I do not have recovery and I can't even connect it to flashtool (flashtool does not recognize my phone, pressing volume down and connecting to PC doesn't do anything). Only response that I get from my phone is from holding volume up and power button at the same time (it vibrates once, then 3 times).
LONG STORY SHORT: does anyone have any suggestion what can I do with phone that probably has no recovery, can't be turned on and flashtool seems not to recognize it? Thx in advance, I will provide more info on my phone if needed.

[Q] Xperia Bricked after update-Already flashed. Help!

Hello there. I recently bought an unlocked Xperia Play from Ebuyer. I then rooted it successfully. But the problem is, my phone automatically updated itself one morning, causing it to be bricked. As I have already flashed the phone before I knew how to do it, but this time when I press the power button, my phone only vibrates once and nothing else happens, and only when I keep pressing the power button it just keeps vibrating.
When the USB cable is connected to my laptop, the phone has a Green light if that is of any help to you.
Thank you in advance. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
---Another problem I seem to be experiencing is the main drivers for the phone appearing as "Flash Device" but on my main computer it was seen as Android. Sadly, my power supply for my main PC failed (Not having much luck, am I?) and I can only use this laptop. Do you possibly have drivers for my XPeria Play for Windows 7 64 bit that would see my phone as Android? Or, could it be because my phone is bricked that it's only being seen as a Flash Device.
Ah... don't worry, it happened to me too not so long ago, it can be fixed. What you gotta do is relock your bootloader so it unbricks itself, while loosing root. Search here in the forums for something called Blagus Relock Bootloader Script. That green light you see there, that indicates your device is either fully charged, or it is in flash/recovery mode. Make sure to enter that mode before doing anything with it by holding the BACK buttoj (NOT the search button) while plugging in the USB cable to the phone. Search for the script I said before using fastboot or flashtool, I don't remember quite well. I'm new here so I can't give you the link, but good luck anyways! This will fix the problem, just re-unlock the bootloader again and you'll be fine. BEWARE, though, if you flash a new custom ROM after that, you will break the baseband/radio. You MUST re-flash a new, updated 2.3.4 firmware for you R800i/a/x/etc, DON'T use a generic from UK if your phone isn't from UK, and use US version if yours actually from America. I believe there's a difference but I did use first "generic" UK 2.3.3, then it bricked, relocked the bootloader, and flashed an updates firmware, totally generic, 2.3.4 that was made specifically for R800i and showed up differently than the other in flashtool. It has a new screenshot function which was pretty awesome, which wasn't my case since I was flashing CM7. Good luck!
EDIT: I usually hate doing this on forums, but since I'm new and my post does actually help I must say FIRST! I'm so happy right now
I have the same problem with my daughter's Play.
However it is originally an unlocked phone bought in Singapore. No rooting, no custom kernals, no nothing. It is original.
After installing the Firmware through PC Companion, she got the instruction to unplug the phone, remove and reinsert the battery and power up.
The Play vibrated once when the power button was pressed and then nothing....
I subsequently tried reflashing again with Flashtool but no difference. I see the .sin being flashed in but the same thing happened on power up... vibrate once and then nothing...
Any suggestions? Help?
How do you check if the phone is set to receive over the air updates automatically?

[Q] Help with boot loop and drivers

Hello XDA,
I have used your services in the past but this time I'm stuck. Usually I had better luck just using the search function for what I needed but this time I can't seem to find what I need so this is my first post. Yes i basically I troll
Anywho, my ion is stuck in a boot loop (barely gets to the home screen and freezes then repeats that over and over and over) and when I hold the volume down plus power button, I get the green light which I read is flash mode, my problem is when I try to start the flash process I get a warning that says "must install drivers first".
How can I do that with the phone being in a boot loop and it won't sit long enough for the computer to recognize the phone and download the necessary drivers?? It seems like the computer only wants to download drivers when it's on and not in flash mode.
Currently I did what I'm assuming is a hard reset. Held the volume down and power button past the 3 vibrations then I had to let the phone sit for 16+ hours charging. The red light turned on eventually and it has finally turned off again. I think it is ready to be flashed except I'm not sure what to do.
I purchased the phone second hand and it has already been upgraded to ICS 4.0.4 I believe and it had a lot of junk on it. All I want to do is wipe the hard drive (and all its content) and install a fresh copy of ICS 4.0 and just get it back to factory.
Thanks for helping out this confused troll
Oh just in case your wondering, I was deleting apps and the previous owners email accounts when it crashed and thats when it went into a boot loop. Thanks again for your help I really do appreciate it.
The drivers are in the flashtool folder, /flashtool/drivers. Run the exe. Select your model & fastboot & flashmode drivers. Then keep trying it should get recognized and then flash. However it may take several attempts
Good luck

I'm doing something wrong I think because I'm not finding what your referring to...
I opened the flash tool and even tried running it as administrator-clicked on help - check drivers - and all I get is ( list of ADBLOCK drivers/none, List of fast boot devices - none)
Even under firmware selections all I see under devices is the x10/ version - v1/ branding - blrelock. I seen screenshots under firmware and there is usually a list but for some reason mine doesn't have that. I downloaded the .ftf file so technically it should work right? Or am I missing something here??

[Q] Z1C being identified as a wrong device (Z1)

Hey guys,
I've had my Z1C for quite some time now and have messed around with various ROMs and such and if I ever came across a problem, I would always find a solution for it online, but this time it's different. I've done a lot of searching already, and found some similar problems on the internet, but none of them were quite like the one I've got right now.
Okay, first of all, for quite some time now I've been successfully using SlimKat and only updating every couple of months or so (and yes, since SlimKat officially came out on Z1C, I've been using the official version). It all began when I decided to update to a new version today. I went to the SlimRoms website, found my device on supported devices list, downloaded the zip file, downloaded gapps, and flashed them following the instructions. I've done this many times before already and it always worked without problems, but this time after the flashing finished (which was successful), my phone wouldn't turn on. After trying one thing after another, I realized that at first this was a driver problem, then I found out that my Z1C is now recognized as a Z1. Then I went back to SlimRoms website, and check it out- after clicking on Z1C (amami) on the supported devices list, it directs you (at least it directs me) to Z1 (honami) download page. I didn't even notice the different name, because every time I did this I didn't have any problems. So that's my current story. I will now list all the major symptoms.
- After holding volume up + power button until it shuts off I plug it into a wall charger or a pc through usb cable, first I get a red LED for like a second, then a pink/purple one for a two or three seconds, then it turns yellow and stays that way (charging?). After a few seconds I get the ability to browse the phone's files, but the device is named 'Z1'. If I plug it in without force shutting it off, it goes straight into yellow LED.
- If I try to repair it with Sony PC Companion, it gives me an error that the device is running modified software. Obvious.
- If I plug it in with flashtool on, at first it gives me an error that it cannot be identified and gives me a list of devices to choose from and then asks if I want my device to be permanently recognized as the one I chose. But this doesn't seem to work, because it gives me the same error every time I try to do it again. And if I try to flash a stock firmware, I get an error ERROR - Cannot delete C:\Flashtool\.\firmwares\prepared\boot. Previously it gave me errors regarding drivers, but no matter how many times I tried to install them with the driver installer from flashtool, uninstalling the device through device manager and so on, it didn't help. But after something I did that I'm not very sure about, I don't seem to get this error anymore.
- If I try to turn it on, it vibrates once as usual, gives me the pink/purple led for a couple seconds and then nothing.
There might be something I haven't mentioned, so feel free to ask. Not sure if that matters, but I'm on unlocked bootloader.
I seriously hope there's a fix for that, not sure if my unlocked bootloader would help with a warranty repair.
I guess that's all. Thanks in advance everyone.

Flash a Z1C kernel with fastboot and try the flashtool again.

Man, thanks a lot! Worked like a charm. I was thinking about flashing something via fastboot because it seemed to be working, but I didn't want to mess up anything else before making sure it was safe. Apparently the solution was simple. You've got my gratitude!

New to Xperia M - how hard... or soft, did I brick the little (//&&%/$??

Hey people, got this cute little phone from my wife, was delighted initially because it seemed like custom rom haven and it really is cute little piece of functional white plastic (I meant, it was), but didn't last a day in my "new to Xperia" overconfident hands.
Anyway, I couldn't find any page that was foolproof and really explaining all the details step by step, so it kindaaa seeeems that I forgot the "unlock bootloader" part. I did several unsuccessful attempts at flashing official last version TWRP via terminal emulator and recommended app (can't remember name) - both seemed to do the work but couldn't boot into recovery, just regular reset. Then I tried Rushr app and flashed that TWRP image I had on SD card. I ran Reboot to recovery option - the thing just turned off. Now, what happens is that it vibrates for a second if I hold power button, but no go from there. If I connect it to PC blue light is on and PC says something like SP1FastBoot device connected or something like that.
So the big question is, is this soft or hard brick? What should poor bastard do in any case?
EDIT: Now I realized I get blue indicator light ONLY if I hold volume up before connecting to pc. If not, nothing lights. If I hold volume DOWN, I initially got "SEMC flash device connected", something like that.
your phone is completely alright, just install flashtool, its drives unlock the bootloader(there will be an option) and install recovery, after that flash a rom or stock backup
Thanks a lot, that's great news So in order to minimize risk of such noob mistakes I made (although still not sure what went wrong), I can use Flashtool for all my custom rom needs? Also, where can I download it, the links I found on XDA are dead, and googling brings out Sony's flashtool Emma. I really have no idea if it's the same thing or not, but from description it sounds like a tool for flashing stock roms, not customs. I need to be sure this time
EDIT: On XDA page dealing with TWRP installation: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m/orig-development/recovery-twrp-xpe it is specifically mentioned NOT to use Flashtool for flashing TWRP. Now it all gets confusing What does it mean, better chose CWM recovery or what?

Would you by any chance have some specific recommendations regarding recovery and rom combination? I prefer CM, but for instance, they say new CM 13 is for specific version of firmware (4.x, not sure which), and since my device is bricked, I have no way of checking what I have. Is there some combination of recovery/rom that's basically fool/brick proof? I found Flashtool, but I have to put roms in its folder, it doesn't come with or doesn't download firmwares from server or anything right?
I'm running in circles here, I'm stuck with Flashtool, and flashing Fota TWRP via Flashtool isn't recommended so... you see my problem
EDIT: I tried to unlock bootloader via Flashtool, I got middle finger: 08/042/2016 21:42:25 - INFO - Your phone bootloader cannot be officially unlocked
What does it mean? Am I doomed with stock firmware (even if I knew how to recover it) with "no custom roms" diet forever, or is there some "unofficial" solution?

There's nothing in .flashtool folder or subfolders, just a basic empty tree Seems Flashtool is a no go in my case, I think I'll try Sony's PC Companion, I think it's intended to recover stuck rom. And it requires 5 gigs of space on hard disk, so I guess it comes with everything already in the package
Fixed! Sony's Xperia tool is nothing short of miracle. Did the whole job, completely recovered device. Good job, Sony!

I've Made a BooBoo :(

I was so excited to buy a Z5 quite cheap from online store (GumTree Australia). Received it and went to turn it on, it was locked to someone's account (not the last owner I assumed). No biggee I thought, so I did a bit of research to find out how to factory reset wipe my phone and find the Sony app 'EMMA'. Booted my phone into that app and it showed that this phone was locked and I couldn't do anything other than visit a couple links it suggested to update my phone or contact Sony to unlock my bootloader. I did all that it suggested waiting on Sony to no reply.
3 months later, I decided to give this phone another go and came looking at XDA. Impatiently wanting to unlock, I found a flashtool on XDA https://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-premium/general/firmware-32-3-0-372-certified-android-7-t3537948 and decided to wing it with this image https://redirect.viglink.com/?format=go&jsonp=vglnk_14958424411279&key=f0a7f91912ae2b52e0700f73990eb321&libId=j36hx1cx01000n4o000DAnhl9jzwv&loc=https%3A%2F%2Fforum.xda-developers.com%2Fz5-premium%2Fgeneral%2Ffirmware-32-3-0-372-certified-android-7-t3537948&v=1&out=https%3A%2F%2Fdrive.google.com%2Fdrive%2Ffolders%2F0B9es25_rAF5bbnhPZ2pLQjQyd2M%3Fusp%3Dsharing&ref=https%3A%2F%2Fforum.xda-developers.com%2Fz5-premium&title=Firmware%20Android%20N%207.0%2032.3.A.2.33%20link%20.ftf%E2%80%A6%20%7C%20Sony%20Xperia%20Z5%20Premium&txt=https%3A%2F%2Fdrive.google.com%2Fdrive%2Ffolde...2M%3Fusp%3Dsharing.
Long story short, my impatience and winging it after following onscreen instructions from the tool has now made the phone unbootable. Screen turns on but it's all black. I plug my phone in to the computer and it is recognised by EMMA and Windows. But I can't do the recovery boot with volume down.
I just want to put it back to how it was with a simple wipe. Is there a way I can get it back to just "normal" please.
My excitement has now left me with anxiety issues lol. Please help....
Use flashtool and go to XperiFirm and download the full ROM by browsing to the correct phone model and country (Use somewhere like Custom Indonesia, Custom UK, Custom Germany, etc.)
Then simply click flash button, choose the ROM, make some checkbox such that it flashes absolutely everything, and then follow on-screen instruction to do a full flash. Volume Up and Power force turns your phone off, and then plug the USB and press the instructed volume button right away to enter into flash mode, and then things will work on its own.
I would just use XperiFirm to download the ROM image. But do make sure you're downloading the ROM for the correct phone model.

Life saver!! Thank you so much. I've got the phone working now and I understand how XperiFirm works.... sort of.
I'm now stuck on FRP lock where I have to enter the last email used to sync the device. I've tried the instructions from this thread and watched the video and mine doesn't do what is shown on the video to get into the settings to switch users.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-premium/general/how-to-tottaly-unlock-xperia-z5-premium-t3585640#post72448042
I'm gonna keep reading and see if there's another way around. But if anyone is reading this, please feel free to guide me.
Thanking you DarkSilent again.
UPDATE
Found this video and it helped me to bypass FRP.
Thank you once again. I'm very happy now.
