Why in each custom ROM you can use a separate lock gesture ?
Always appear first lock dragging your finger first and then lock gesture .
I have set only gesture lock and always appear first this screen:
And then my lock gesture:
I need only two ways to unlock from sleep: Knock knock and my gesture ! There still appears unlocking by dragging finger !!!!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Furthermore , why in setting the battery does not appear Elapsed time use batteries ?
Also this is not in one custom ROM such as BlissPop ROM/Candy5/Cyanide/FlexOS/Fusion/Resurrection............
This missing:
maybe its just me but i dont understand what your asking :'?
If I have phone in sleep mode, i need only knock knock on display and then my gesture unlock - only two ways to wake up from sleep (knock and gesture)
Now I have set only the gesture unlock, but after knock knock see on display still appears unlocking by dragging finger !!!!! and then my gesture like on screeen posted. (These are three processes to unlock terrible)
I dont need unlocking by dragging finger if I have set gesture !!!!!
And baterry:
This is missing in each custom rom such as BlissPop ROM/Candy5/Cyanide/FlexOS/Fusion/Resurrection............
nobody ?

I believe the lockscreen bug is present in the latest roms. Probably a CM issue but i'm not sure.
I'm sure it'll be fixed cause i've seen quite some ppl complain about this issue. Nothing to do but wait for a fix i guess.
As for the battery, yeah, i've noticed Elapsed Time is not there now that you've showed it. I believe it was never there in older builds of 5.1 AOSP rom's, could be wrong tho. Never really used that "timer" so i'm not sure what is up with that.

Hello!
I wonder if there is a way to add a gesture on Sense 4.X so I can shutdown the screen in simple finger slide?
Back in N1 times,I used to use swipe down gesture(ADW launcher) linked to ''screen off''' app so the screen turned off with style!
Now with Sense launcher can I do the same?
I found an app for gestures but it doesn't accept simple gesture like swipe down/up

Hey,
The ViperX rom has a gesture option in the suite tools. You can set three-finger gestures for sliding up, down left and right.

true but you will need a screen-off app or script to be triggered by the gesture
Edit: tryed it out with "screen off and lock" app from market and works pretty well.
After configuring the app and Venom tweaks app : 3-finger swipe-up remapped to custom app (screen off), at any screen/app swipe up 3 finger and the phone will turn the screen off with a cool animation (i chose slide up to match gesture), then phone locks immediately (i dont prefer this)
Yeah I saw this but it's really weird to use the 3 fingers, I feel like a cat
I hope they will find a solution for one finger only
Edit: Sry never mind..Sense.. mist that part
Why would you want it with one finger? Then when youre reading something and your scrolling up or down your screen will go off..

Not for any games or apps but only for homescreens
There's a great app that you can define whatever gesture you like
and asign it to close the screen or even kill the using app

try it
remember when in jellybean 4.1 when u touch the lock circle and swipe, google now, camera and lockscreen comes up? now on 4.2.1 only lock screen comes up.. how do i make google now, unlock, and camera come up again? now its only unlock. also when i put in a password i want the circle with the lock inside to come up then i slide, then i put in password. but when i turn it on, it asks for password and i dont like that. also the keyboard gesture typing is not working. i can see the trail but it makes no words! please help me! I'm not sure about the second question, but for the first:
You must have enabled custom lockscreen targets in settings -> rom control -> lock screen accidently, this removes google now and camera from the lockscreen, you can reset this by going to custom targets and pressing the reset button in the top-right corner
Good luck, Jake
Edit: for the third question, what's your input language?
Hi guys i would like to know if there is a way to unlock htc one x just by sliding on the three buttons on the screen. By the way im using viper x rom 3.4.2, i've noticed there is a slide2unlock feature in venom tweaks but it only wakes the display basically its like pressing the power button and it doesn't unlock the phone.
Some roms have swipe/slide to unlock which is what you're looking for rather than swipe to wake, which would probably be the kernel, I can't remember which ones though...If you have lyapota's mod you can set longpress home to unlock, if that's any use

it actually has an option slide2unlock but it only wakes the phone up and it doesn't unlock it, the phone behaves just like when i click on the power button, which is of no use.. It would be way cooler if i could just slide/swipe and unlock the phone
Go to lockscreen settings and select no lockscreen. (on AOSP it works like that)
One possibility is to rename /system/app/htclockscreen.apk (or similar) to htclockscreen.bak. That way the lockscreen should be gone but I don't know how it would affect receiving calls.
Hi,
I like the new gestures feature, but I dont need all of the swiping and it just turns on my screen by itself when it's my pocket. I'd really like to keep double tap to wake though as its very useful.
is there any way to disable the rest of the gestures while keeping double tap to wake? I'm rooted if that helps.
thanks.

Gestures do not work when its in your pocket unless there is light in your pocket. Proximity has to see light to enable gestures, not to mention needing motion to wake up gestures. Other than that, you can flash one of the high end roms as they give you full gesture selection and you can change and disable specific ones.

Well, no idea about that, but it's not uncommon for me to take it out of my pocket and find the screen on. Happens rarely yes, but it does happen.
Is there any particular ROM you can recommend? I value battery life above all else.
Thank you!
You could try ElementalX 0.11 or 0.12?

ViperOne M8 allows full control of all gestures.

Sorry that I am replying to an old thread, but I've noticed that my recently acquired One M8 is somewhat random responding to DT2W and the post by an0ther seems relevant.
The gestures do respond better in light conditions, however I've found that lightly pressing the top of the phone, in the proximity detector area, between thumb and forefinger and then immediately doing DT2W the phone wakes up even in the dark. Is this just my phone or possibly a general characteristic?
I have the ElementalX kernel installed. Also I have a One M7 with ElementalX and the gestures always work day or night.
Any ideas why the One M8 should respond in this way?
Hi all,
I moved from oneplus 5 to 5t and the lack of hardware buttons is really bothering me. I don't like the software buttons at all. So is there a way to make gestures for the fingerprint sensor ( like swipe down for notification bar). For example double tap to go to home screen and swipe left/right for back/forward.
It's already there, the swipe down for notifications, controlled by the finger print sensor.

Yes I know that but I am asking for double tap or hold or swipe left or right. And maybe change the swipe down to something else then notifications.

It requires FingerprintGestureController API which is only available in Android Oreo
https://developer.android.com/refer...lityservice/FingerprintGestureController.html
I would like to see 'long-touch to take a photo' gesture work in every app that takes photos, like 3rd party cameras, messenger, snapchat etc.
Anyone knows where can we suggest/request this? Is this even possible?
Hi, I'm asking here instead of opening a new thread. I'm not an expert but I managed to get what I wanted after hard reasearch, but I don't want to spend hours before knowing it can be done or not.
I see that OP5t can open notification with swipe down on the fingerprint scanner or take a photo when holding the finger on the scanner. And this works without me having to register my fingerprint. What I'd like to achieve is using swipe on fingerprint sensor for scrolling content (a chrome page or other apps, like ebook reader) without registering my fingerprint. This is because I really don't use fingerprint at all (I actually never lock my phone in any way) yet I'd like to use the fingerprint scanner as long it is there (it's completely useless for me, right now).
I couldn't find anyone who did this and I don't want to spend hours learning how to do all of this and then find out it can't be done as I want. I even got tasker but can't find a "fingerprint swipe" variable. I saw several apps for fingerprint scanner gestures but: 1. they don't let me "scroll" pages and 2.they all ask for registering my fingerprint.
Summing up: I want to know whether you can add gestures to the fingerprint scanner. Is it possible without registering my fingerprint? If so, is it possible to assign swiping "scroll" as gesture?

Hey absolute85!

I use this app for fingerprint gestures. It doesn't have a lot of support, probably abandoned, but gets the job done. The only bugs I have is the slight lag for single swipe actions when you enable double swipe gestures but that too is understandable because the app is waiting to see if there's a second swipe. I haven't really tried it without registering a fingerprint but it shouldn't have an issue. Might be worth shot!

Thank you for your answer. Yes, that's very close to what I'm looking for. However I should buy the pro version, but I'd like to know if you can give some feedback about that. Using "swipe on screen" commands performs a swipe starting from the edge. So, for instance, when it performs "swipe screen down" it opens notification panel. I see there's "scroll", but I'd like to be sure that it works properly before purchasing it. Moreover it would be nice if it is sensitive so that if I swipe halfway it scrolls less than if I swiped all the way down with my finger (I hope you understood). Anyway it's already useful, I can use it at least on my e-reader up with swipe left and right on the scanner, thanks.

I don't really use those PRO features so never found the need to upgrade. Although had the dev been more active I might have just done it to support him. You can always buy it and if not useful claim a refund no? I think that policy extends to this. I'm not sure though. Glad I could help!
Thanks. Anyway I noticed that after installing it I had a change on chrome. When I open new tabs I see them as a list instead of little windows (like the multitasking for apps). When I uninstall it, everything goes back as before. Is there any setting in chrome to restore?
