Can anyone help me find a working accounts and sync apk for the fire phone. I have not been so lucky as to yet stumble upon a version that works or I am still missing something that I need to make it work.

Did add your accounts in the FireOS settings "Manage email accounts". Once you add your account go into it there and turn on "sync contacts". I have my Amazon(yahoo email), Gmail, and hotmail accounts added all contact info shows up under my contacts.

Hey guys, I have tried taking care of my problem with sync'ing. I've searched the forums here on XDA, and searched Google. But I want to start using XDAndroid 2.2 regularly and I am having some problems with sync'ing.
I have three e-mail addresses from different domains. Do i need to sync all of these? or do I only need to sync the address that my android account is set up on on my phone? Also, It said I needed to enable Google Sync from my settings. Which I have been searching, and cannot find.. I feel like such a noob and once someone tells me, I'll do a big facepalm.
Please help me.

use gmail account
then
setting>accounts & sync
....allow me to face palm you
when I hit settings I only have "Accounts and Import". I guess I'm looking for a "Googly Sync" option.
Do I just have to enable IMAP or POP3?
Sorry, I've had a very off day..

No, it is not like syncing with winmo, you only have to sync your phone with your google account....it syncs more than email
its the 7th option down under settings
are you using a current build?
I don't think I gave you enough information. I'm wanting to switch over to android. I'm currently using the latest build of the Energy ROM (SenCity style). The only reason I'm not using andriod is that I dont know how to send my contacts from Windows into the Android build.
I've been told that Google Sync does it. I was trying to enable it from my gmail account. Where do I go to get to the settings you were referring to?
Sorry about the confusion. the help is much appreciated! thanks
So if your contacts aren't already sync'd with your GMail account from WinMo, the initial sync will knock them out.
Setup PIM Backup or something similar so you can backup all your contacts. Then setup your GMail account in your Exchange settings for WinMo - so you go to Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Comm Manager -> MS Direct Push - from there you enter your GMail settings. m.google.com for the server, be sure to use ssl. I'm not positive if it does knock out your existing contacts, but if it does after you setup the server, import your contacts back from PIM Backup or whatever you used to backup your contacts, run another sync in ActiveSync (not with your computer, with GMail) - you should now have all your contacts in GMail under "My Contacts" - then you can just sync in Android. Easy.
Yeah I have all of that set up on my phone, It just says sync error.
I thought I would have to enable something in my gmail account on my computer for the sync to go through?

Are you getting the sync error in Android or WinMo? I'm going to assume WinMo.
When you setup the exchange server, ONLY check email & contacts. You can sync the calendar, but I found if you just setup your gmail account without ever visiting your calendar, the sync will fail. Other than that, I don't think there's anything to enable assuming you're using the correct settings... Always make sure to put in the entire email address, w/the @gmail.com @ the end.
I was getting the error in WinMo. Sorry about being so unclear! woops.
Hazzah! I disabled Calendars and Tasks. and now Contacts are currently being sync'd! woo! I wanted Calendars and Tasks to sync because Univ. of South Florida uses Google Apps and I had my calendar on my phone. Everyone who has android phones, just one touch and all of their calendar and schedule is on their phone. I'll just do this then haha.
Anyways, as soon as I log into Android with my gmail account will the contacts be there? Or I need to enable a sync through there? (I've had midterms this week and tonight ill be able to finally sit down and play with this).
Really Appreciate the help guys!
Edit: it is syncing but it is doing so at like one contact per 5 minutes. Maybe I need to go to an empty field to get decent reception with TMO. sigh

Hrm that seems odd to me. All my 100+ contacts sync in about a minute, on my cell radio's connection.
Tasks will never sync (I believe...) but Calendar can sync assuming you have used it on your GMail account. I'm pretty sure they mention this on the Google Sync help page
Easiest way in Android is to just setup the account in "Accounts & Sync".
If you're using an exchange account perhaps. Just sync your contacts with that account, then in android have it sync contacts.
That how I migrated from WinMo to XDANDROID. The only thing I use my gmail account for is the marketplace.
Currently, I have my contacts in my gmail account (i checked)
I booted up Android and went to Settings --> Accounts and Sync. I put in my email and password and then it asked for a username. I tried using just the begining of my email (khoyifish) and then I tried using my whole email ([email protected]) then it says retrieving account information and gets and error message. i enabled the two SSL options, because thats how the exchange works in WInMo. Any suggestions? thanks!
I'm frustrated, but I love android!
Edit: I let the WInMo Exchange run in the background, so I didnt have to worry about it taking a long time haha

We're talking about Android right!?!?
Settings -> Accounts & Sync -> Add Account. You should now have two choices, "Corporate" or "Google"... No?
Yeah.. haha I just booted up Android real quick to show you.
I go settings --> Accoutns and Sync and it asks for
Username : [email protected]____
Password: _____
next screen says
Domain/Username: \khoyifish
Password: ____
Server: gmail.com
[x] Use Secure Connection SSL)
[x] Accept all SSL Certificates
Connecting to incoming server settings ---- Setup could not finish. Unable to open connection to server.
Edit: just tried going into the market and it didnt open. Maybe I dont have good connection?

May want to remove your actual email as web spiders can crawl these pages...
anyhoo, that's definitely not right. I don't know what would cause it to skip that page either... I don't know if the connection would have anything to do with it.
Also, the exchange server for GMail is m.google.com. But that shouldn't matter on Android, it should let you choose Google... Hmmmmm. Delete (move, rename) your data.img and start fresh. Cuz that's odd.
where is that data.img file? I was also thinking about formatting my SD card (after backing up cab files and pictures.
It wouldnt matter that it is the FROYO build? Should I try the other build?

Yea I'm using Froyo as well. There's two "main" builds of Froyo - reference and blazn. Shouldn't matter which one you're using. Data.img is created on first boot, and is located where you run haret.exe from...
htc desire telstra, I get & read my emails on my phone - no problem, Was using imap and the only problem seemed calendar changes on phone didn't sync back to pc. PC to phone OK.

deleting the accounts and re adding doesnt work.
email provider is google apps using gmail pop and smtp servers. on our own domain.
ROM is the stock Telstra (aust) android rom, latest update.
Worked on IMAP but it was slow retrieving emails.
with POP we have all sorts of problems.
why dont you try adding that account in the gmail app or use gmail activesync (google it for the settings)?
for the gmail app you can create labels which will take you straight to the account or account/label you want.
Or add your account to the email app using gmail active sync.
I use it the first way and it works like a charm.

Yes it supports custom domains.

got the email on the gmail app and seems to be working okay.
Just left with the bloody calendar problem!
adding entry's on PC and syncing to phone works fine, they show up on phone, but editing or adding entry's on the phone will not sync the changes back to pc.
What do you guys recommend?

On my phone, I had all my contacts saved under [email protected] (my university email runs on gmail system) google account althought i never had any success syncing them from my phone.
Just now I deleted that google account on the phone forgetting the fact all my phone numbers were there. Obviously I cant get em back from my google account since there was never a successful sync.
Can anyone tell me how I can get back my contacts?
Thanks

It never synced with the mail system. So basically I'm asking whether I can recover it from within the phone instead of syncing
Export your contacts to another Gmail account, log in with that and sync - job done!
If they didn't sync to an account your SOL. Sorry.

If you can access your uni mail in the Google Apps interface, maybe you can export your contacts there into .csv or .vcf. So you can import them in your main Google account or just locally on the phone via 3rd party Android app that imports contacts.
Just got my Fire Phone a couple of days ago and I knew exactly what I was getting into when I bought it. First thing I did was install Play Store along with all the apks are are important from Google.
But as the title suggests, I am just curious on if there is a way to sync Google Contacts quickly. My Contacts apps syncs fine with my Gmail, but it takes every bit of hour for them to sync. Whereas as when you add a contact in Gmail on the computer they sync immediately with an Android Phone. We have tried the different syncs options on the Fire Phone but to no avail. Just more curious than anything. If there isnt a way, it really doesnt bother me to much instead of being more a nuisance than anything.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I had to set up the Fire Email app with my Gmail address to get the contacts & calendar to sync. I actually like the email app more than I thought I would but can't seem to find two critical things:
-Notify once for emails (not every email)
-Different notification sounds for different accounts
Am I missing a setting somewhere?

It was pretty automatic for me. I logged in using my gmail account. I will try to help you though but you prolly already have all the correct settings. When you open your email app from the OS (not some installed app from the store), left swipe to get to your settings. In my email app, the only email I have as an account is Gmail. Go to settings in the menu. Bottom option. On next screen click Contacts Settings. From there you have an option to Synchronize contacts. Make sure that is set to on. Try that and let us know what happens. This is where is may take to up to an hour for it to sync. My original question here was if there is a faster option to get the contacts to sync because many times I need the contact sync immediately.
It prolly just built into the OS to sync at a certain time frame.

Gotcha!! I basically disabled the built in email app and installed googlecontactssyncadapter.apk in an effort to sync contacts. Unsuccessful, I moved to using CM11 and loving it!! Thanks for the detailed explanations!
I disabled most of the amazon apps as well, and noticed that my contacts stopped syncing. Looked into it a little more and saw that it was tied to the email app. The email app is okay, but it doesn't have any of my gmail labels so that was out, and it was using too much juice as was so I had to find an alternative. This app will connect to google, or a number of other contact sync services, and you can set the sync rate on it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dmfs.carddav.sync
On my second fire phone (I couldn't pass up this hardware that was effectively $20) I am trying to run as close to AOSP as possible and still keep the fire os. Before you tell me to run cm11 or slimkat, I've been running those on my main phone since ggow arrived with the goodies. It's just for the learning and fun of it that I'm taking this on. The best pictures are taken with the fire phone camera (I've tried most of them on cm11 and slimkat) and I like the camera hardware button. Also, people who have never seen this phone like the launcher's 3D effects.
The problem is that:
1. The phone app needs contacts which seems to need the fireos email.
2. To get the contacts, I had to sync email to my gmail account.
3. Inbox is better than fireos email (which isn't a bad email client)
4. Running both email and inbox means both get mail pushed which causes more battery drain than I want.
I can't figure out how to have the gmail contacts without having the fire email set up for gmail. Is there a fireos contacts file I am missing? Perhaps I could allow the fireos email to exist for the gmail contacts but somehow not have it used for email other than for very occasional checking of my gmail contacts.
Any Ideas that don't involve d/l contacts to the phone?
Can't you just disable the Email app under Manage Applications in Settings? I did it with the stock Messaging app and I'm using QKSMS one from the F-Droid repo. Also did it with Silk Browser and Notes.
Nope. phone contacts disappear when email is disabled. Many other apps can be changed out without issues, but not so for the email app.

Whoa. I had no idea the two were linked. Is your Google Account set to sync your contacts?
If so, will the Google Contacts app work? This is a dump from Android 5.1.
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...ontacts-1-1-android-5-1-android-apk-download/
How about another contacts app like from ASUS or Sony?

DePingus, thanks for trying to help with this problem. The android contacts app works well, but appears to have nothing to do with how the fireos phone app finds contacts. For that, the fireos email is necessary.
What I'm trying to do is get rid of the fireos email app and still keep contacts working with the fireos phone app. So far, nothing has worked for me. For another approach, I've even tried installing some of ggow's modified android apps to make his dialer app work - without success.
