So the ZE550ML has a Quickview Cover feature as it claims.
I happen to have a flipcover with that circle showing a part of my screen for quickview functions.
Now I've put it on my phone and tried the quickview feature. Opened/ closed the flip, but nothing happened. I have a Zenfone 5 and I tried using the feature and it worked like a charm. I'm wondering how to make it work on the Zenfone 2? Are there any sort of like original case in which the quickview cover works? Im a bit confused. Proximity sensors are working and fully functional so I dont know whats the problem as to why it doesnt work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The trick behind view flip is a small magnetic sensor located near the left bottom of back key. Place a magnet in ur flip case.see the magic
Oh. Thanks for the heads up.

I owned a smart cover for my galaxy note 8.0, it can work properly like sleep and wake.
But here's the problem come,
usually the cover is cover the front of the tablet, but when we use it, we will flip the cover to the back of tablet.
while the cover touched the back side of the tablet, it will also put it as sleep.
so, how to disable smart cover auto sleep?
i had tried the "Lock instantly with power key", but it required at least security of "pattern"
Any ideas?
Need help! THANK YOU!:good:
I guess something is wrong either with your cover or device - putting the cover on the back should never put the device to sleep.
I don't recall anybody reporting similar problems here, also the small sample we have at home (2 notes + 2 covers) behaves correctly.
The best thing (although it's probably easier said than done) would be to establish which one is malfunctioning and have it replaced if possible.
otoh I would also be interested in a way to disable the cover on/off function - mine is so sensitive, that even the slight move of the front part wakes the device, causing increased battery drain and making betterbatterystats readings useless.

I have seen that happen a lot with ipad cases. Its due to a poorly designed case.

It happens all the time to me. Put it nicely in the back. Not a single bit cover the front. Shake the device a little bit. The cover hits the back of the device, make some noise and screen turns off. Magic. As if the device can sense magnet even by its back. But when it sits really tightly that no space bw it and the case, problem solved by put on some sticky tape in the back.
Smart cover not smart at all T^T~ but original case without having that problem right?
Smart cover problem
Still looking for a way to disable the software that causes auto sleep/wake.
The problem with some covers is that they are not authentic from the manufacturers. The original Samsung case for Note 8/N5100 has the correct magnetic power in the case flap. The other covers have a magnet that is too strong so when the flap is in the back the magnet still effects.
I surgically cut the magnet out of the cheep cover and closed it back up. Disabled auto wake with the modification. I am guessing the same could be done with the original authentic Samsung case but it is hard to cut the little magnet out because its built in seamlessly so you cant see the exact location of the magnet.

Hi, I wanted to know if there is a way to turn off the automatic magnetic unlock feature of the 10.1 Note. I've got a case that sometimes will turn of (lock) my Note 10.1 when I don't want it to turn of, without closing the case itself.
Thanks in advance,
Ben
Same problem here......I even changed the case!!
Probably something that would require a kernel level change.
Check Under accessory settings. Tasker can probably disable the Magnetic Sensor

There is a xposed module called MagnetOff

Hit the Thanks button if I was able to help you
From Poetic support, turning WiFi off normally takes care of the problem.

I've noticed on mine when I uncheck settings>general>acessory>daynote it won't lock when I close the cover. Worth a shot on yours!
I also have that feature disabled. The case also has a cut out for the home button. I traditionally keep the wifi disabled.

Hi all,
i'm running into, i believe, is the same issue.
When rotating or moving the tablet, the screen will automatically turn off and lock.
I've disabled the eye sensor, increased the screen time out, and disabled day note, with no luck.
Such a pain!
If i root this device, is there a guaranteed way around this 'feature'?
Well, i couldnt take it anymore and removed the magnet from the case.
Here's the case in question:
w w w.amazon.com/COD-Leather-Samsung-Galaxy-Edition/dp/B00EZB3EXU
what i did was to take another magnet and move it around the cover until it connected with the other magnet.
With a sharp exacto blade, i split the seam of the cover and pulled out the magnet (about 5mm in diamater).
It's all good now

I've read that the magnet may also interfere with the stylus pen. Will be getting a new keyboard/touchpad leather case soon but I didn't read whether it had a magnetic strap or not. Guess it won't bother me much and like the user above will probably find a way to remove it.

having the same problem with my note 10.1. Am using an after market cover which is quite good except that when the cover edges touch, the screen automatically switches off. Very frustrating. Wish samsung would provide a way to disable the magnetic sensor. I am rooted and even tried the magnet off xposed module but it doesn't work.
Any news about that problem ?? I have to disable the magnetic sensor !!
I removed the magnets.

Hmm, but i don't want to cut it out.Is there any way to close magnetic sensor with build.prop ? I mean what is the tweak code for this ?
Did anyone find any way to turn off the magnetic lock and unlock function? When I backfold my cover (aftermarket), it automatically locks my tab. Which is very irritating. I have Samsung galaxy tab S5e
Hello,
I've discovered a strange behavior of my i9195 recently. I've ASUS X200 laptop. When I put my phone on specific point near the trackpad screen of the phone goes black and only date/time is visible. What causes this? Some kind of embedded RFID/NFC chip on my laptop?
Thanks,
Farid.

That screen is S-View window screen. It activates when magnetic material or a magnet is near back of your device.
Did u ever try a S-View case ?? When u open or close the s-view cover the screen turn black or normal. It is quite alright.
Nothing wrong with your phone.

Hello!
I just bought my new G6 H870 with official Smart Cover CFV-300.
It works with official os to lock/unlock with always on display and so on - perfect.
Now i flashed LineageOS - and wanted to use these feature again.
On older Cyanogenmod versions there was something like Live Disply to use such functions but I can't find it on actual version 14.1...
How do you use this cover or other covers on lineage - or is there any point or possibility i have not found?
Thanks a lot!
I have the same cover and AOD does not work with stock Android for me. I think because the cover is a little too dark.
PS: I got the black phone and cover.
Everything works with silver cover on actual ofw..
Silver cover has a gray layer between phoneglas and plastic cover.. I can See a little ring in the left middel where it can move over the display, if cover closes (magnet?)

Can i end the call without opening the cover?
I saw it on youtube it can't.But now there were several update released. So it might fix this issue.
Can you please confirm it?
I could press the end call button through the cover - less response than touching the display, but it works
Hello, is there any way to trigger the screen to turn off (go to AOD etc) when something is closed on its face? I know in the past magnets and other things were used, and even for the SView covers. Is this possible for a DIY?
In the past, doing what you want was fairly easy, there are some apps that do it, I used gravity screen app, even with macrodroid or automate it, but, since the proximity sensors are behind the screen, the whole functionality changed, now, only the phone calling apps can access the proximity sensor, I now rely on the gyro sensor to turn the screen off, it is not the same, but a somewhat useful workaround solution
A small magnet in left-bottom corner does the trick, but only when my original clear-view cover is installed. Without the installed cover (which the phone recognises as installed accessory, I assume through NFC label in cover) the screen will stay on when a magnet is used in the right spot.
I think DIY solution with magnet is difficult, how to trick phone to think accessory is installed and activate magnetic sensor.
The magnetic sensor in phone is located approx 2.0 cm from left screen edge, approx 1.5 cm from bottom.
