Hi all,
I hope someone experienced this too. When I lock the screen with the power button the screen in off state is still working .
When i swipe down from the top off the screen and then unlock, the status bar is pulled down.
It's problem when i put the phone in my pocket, and through the locked screen the wifi and bluetooth can be swithed on/off.
Thanks for the response!

Try to hold your phone into some very bright light then press the power button, you may see that the display stays one second longer active than the background light.
Thats True. Bur sadly it is also happening during phonecalls. The screen turns black due to the proximity sensor, but i hear clicking sound when my ear touches the screen.

hi guys may i ask about the screen off and lock app, i just enabled the delay device locking feature. but after pressing the screen off and lock command (the one with the icon without a hammer) or in the notification screen, it plays the locking animation but after it went to black screen my signal bar (the bar that shows the battery meter, signal meter and time. located in the upper portion of the screen.) will pop up for a second. is this normal?
and when i press the power button the lock animation will not play, how can i set once i press the power button it will use the screen off and lock app.
thanks

I used to use this app, and I'm fairly certain you can't (without some deep code work) make the hardware power key operate a different app...The "reflash" of the screen is what made me go away from it, so I wish I could help ya, so I could help myself
Can anyone unlock the phone using home button ?
it only works with the power button for me. The home button works when the screen is on but not when , the screen is turned off the phone flashes for brief second then screen goes off, i noticed this before i downgraded and after it has always been like this, its like I am double tapping it when I am not . I get the same response if i double tap the power button
Just to be clear. Are you asking if the screen turns on and stays on after pressing the Home button while the screen is turned off?
I'm on unlocked 3.6.8 and if my screen is off, I can press the home button and the screen turns on (still have to slide to unlock or enter PIN). However, the screen does stay on for a period of time and I can sit and look at the lock screen, view the dynamic perspective on it, etc until the timer eventually shuts the screen off again.
If the sensor located below the front camera is covered up with a screen protector or anything else then you can have problems turning the phone on with the home button or the camera button.
All screen protectors with a hole for the sensor should work on the phone. Screen protectors without a hole for the sensor may or may not work. My screen protector doesn't have a hole for the sensor but I don't have a problem turning the phone on with the home button. But if I cover the sensor with my thumb I can not turn my phone on with the home button.
Hi all,
I have some trouble with my Z1 compact. Very often when screen is off and pressing powerbutton (to get to unlock screen) the screen goes on but in the same sec goes it off. The same thing can also happen if screen is on and I want to turn it off -> it goes off and again on and I'm back at unlock screen. This issue appears kind of randomly and I have no idea if this is a software bug or a hardware problem.
Using CM11 M12 stable. Any ideas? Thank you

I have the same phone and OS, and have seen the same issue, but until I saw your post I have dismissed it as something I was doing when pressing the power button. I believe it must be a software bug, since I did not have the problem when running the stock OS. Perhaps it is worth a bug report.

I use Xposed and GEM Xperia Xposed module, that has 'wake up with volume keys'
Not really a solution, more of a workaround
My wife asked me few times, honey, why do I have hundreds of black or useless photos on my phone? At first, I thought our smart toddlers were playing with her phone, but they are not smart enough to unlock it using the invisible pattern lock! So today I decided to clean the sticking volume buttons from juice and I pressed Volume up for more than 2 seconds and the phone vibrated for half a second and the camera turned on.. WTF? So I turned off the screen using the power button and pressed the Vol Down and same thing, phone vibed and camera came on but the photo icon has a lock on it.. So, I checked my phone running e98010k but it doesn't work, my phone doesn't turn the camera on at all.. Can anyone help me disable this feature? An no, case won't help and she's not gonna have it on a belt clip either, thanks.
My wife's phone looked completely dead this morning, so I pulled the battery and then rebooted. The led did its usual start up pulse but the screen remained black.
Double tapping to wake, then tapping the centre of the screen where login field is, then tapping where the keyboard is, results in haptic feedback, but the screen never turns on from black.
Tried holding down + power to boot into recovery, but no idea if it works. No response from the screen.
Anything I can try? :crying:

Its the faulty motherboard chipset issue, same as me.
Take the phone apart and place a piece of plastic or something on top of the display ribbon connector underneath the battery. That solved this problem for me.
Seems to occur because the board in the g3 has too much space to flex etc in general usage.
