whats the best rom for the s3 (for tmo) for best batt life, no bloat, and is smooth and performs well?
Trial and error man.... You just gotta try them out to see cuz one might work for you but not for me. Just the way it is.

well maybe you can still help.. i'm torn between just sticking with the stock rom and a custom rom.. people say dont mess with it, just stay with the stock rom since its great as it is... but others say to install a custom rom since it removes the bloat.
my main concern is the battery.. is the battery on the custom rom better than the battery on the stock rom? and if the battery is better in the custom rom than on stock, how many hours is battery is extended?
I personally have found aokp to be my favorite with kt8 kernal. Maybe you could try a different kernal on your stock ROM to help with battery and take the bloat that you want out yourself.
If I helped click thanks please
You can get all the benefits it seems you are looking for with just root, without flashing a rom. If you are rooted, go ahead and remove the bloat yourself using any number of methods, not the least of which is titanium backup. From there, you can add a lot of little tips and tricks that you can flash, or install, that give you the mods that people build into their roms.
If you are thinking "Ain't nobody got time for dat!", then a touchwiz based custom rom, will likely give you all that you desire, and they are all pretty bug free. AOSP roms are for people that are more willing to work out a few issues, but take the trade off because of the improved experience.

Well a question like that will only get you opinions. Really the word "best" is just used to describe something you like the most. Well it may depend on what you really want, what you really are looking for etc. Well I cannot recommend a ROM since I have a Nexus (yay) so I'll just leave you with this.
As the guy said above. It takes a lot of trial and error. You'll have to experiment and see which ROM fits your best needs.

Op I'm running stock Uvlh2 rooted and debloated with titanium backup app.. That can be a choice. My batt is great. I get round 14 hrs light to moderate use. Screen time is around 3-4 hrs.... Try it and see.

wicked. Smooth as hell faster than f+!#and no bugs. Also battery lasts over 15 hours heavy use screen on 4+ hours. Also has aroma so installing is super easy. Don't forget to Odex when you have it setup.

Hello everyone,
first post since I got a Note 2... and I really like this phone... people seem to have a laugh at me since it is on a larger side, but then I have my own laughs when i see them trying to properly view web pages etc...
I have decided to go the custom Rom way, however, I would like some help.
I would like to have a decent ROM which gives good battery life and decent performance....my usage is pretty normal, email, Facebook, browsing, etc, not much games... so the ROM does not need to be performance oriented.
Any tips please on where to start... Tried searching here, but got a bit mixed up...
I like the stock looking TW Roms and would like Snote and the basic stuff such as calendar etc..
also which kernel would be suggested with this ROM.
Any help will be appreciated I know that I will have to try some ROMS to see which is best, however any help will save me a lot of flashing ROMS, kernels etc..... I know that usage is dependant on user patters etc, but some direction will be appreciated.
Many thanks to all...

thanks, i was actually looking at that as a start.
There is a bit of debate on which kernel to us... if you have practical experience on this, any idea which is best please?
In two days this thread will be closed. There is no a rom better than other.

sorry about that... understand that all roms are good...
just asking for practical experience in usage.
you can just delete it now if you wish.... I guess i have to flash each one and see which works best for me..
sorry for the trouble...

You must have misunderstood me...
I want opinions on a custom rom (with all the benefits of a custom rom) that gives good battery life... not one which improves battery life...
been flashing many roms so far and all of them are good and yea battery life depends on your usage, before i use aosp rom specially slimbean, the only reason i use aosp because it doesn't have any lag for me, not for games but generaly everything. even i use stock and rooted samsung rom i got lag wheb browsing even just the settings when sliding it down and even the gallery and messaging, it's just a slight lag. but after trying omega v18 rom it doesn't have and im surprise coz i dont have to use aosp rom with some minor bug and now im happy using samsung custom rom with no lag and enjoying all stock features. so battery is not a problem really on our note 2 just pick whatever that gives better performance. but whatever it's your personal taste on what rom do you want.

cheers... will also try the ROM you mentioned... and thanks... it has to be a TW Rom ideally as i like the interface.... plus some of the samsung apps I use, so will to have those....
its normal to be concerned about battery life
amongst stock sammy roms the battery performance is also going downhill unfortunately, MG1 being the worst,
taking cue from tamirda i went for mf2 and the best one i feel was the chinese release, but it has chinese bloat and no play store,
its malaysian version is defintely one for keeps
me6 is also better than mg1
i like to root with cf auto -root and use xposed framework for customisation so i can stay on an odexed rom.....
tamirdas mf2 custom rom v13 will give a good combination of customisations, rooted deodexed experiences and battery life.
i wish someone would make a rom on the chinese mf2
i also love aosp and its looks and features but battery wise -- well im still testing with various kernel/rom combinations on 4.3
If you have a 7105. Then I'd recommend Jedi x17 with the newest saber kernel. Battery for me is better than stock. It also comes with nice eye candy and a lot of built in goodies.
But to each their own

Hey there.
I'm coming from Asus Infinity TF700, which was a great tablet but had disastrous storage speed, which made it virtually unusable.
On the other hand, there was plenty of custom ROMs, from CM to Paranoid, and others.
I've done some digging through Tab S forums and it seems so far only 3 custom ROMs are available, and even those are not being developed or are based on stock.
Why is that? Not many devs have Tab S? No people with know-how?
Anything esle?
Are there more custom roms to be expect in the future?
I am actually not sure when this tablet came to market, but it seems like 5-6 months now.
Thx for all the info. Oh, and if anyone could recommend a custom rom for Tab S 10.5 (WiFi only) I would appreciate it.
BR
We have cm11, skyhigh kernels, stock based rom, and blissed rom is being working on now. The best custom rom for the tab s wifi is cm11 in which im running now. Its super fast and stable.
Thanks for info.
Would you be so kind and point me to the CM11 thread - i'm talking T-800, not T-700 for which i have found a thread. But i don't think it is compatible, is it?

I dont think so. I think they are just trying to make it stable and make most things work just like stock rom.
Thanks for the info.

How About Battery Life? Is it better than stock?
I've recently discovered the awesomeness of Pure Nexus on my Galaxy S4 and I would absolutely kill to have a rom like this for my Tab S. Google edition experience is buttery smooth, incredible battery life and has really extended the life of my phone. I may try the CM11, but I really don't know if it could be better than a modified Nexus rom.

Ehh well it depends. When i installed a custom rom battery life was a tad shorter. But after a couple charges to get the battery calibrated its a bit the same but A bit better. To get more battery on cm11 what i did was underclock the cpu to 1.3 mhz and set the profile to power save. I now have six hours screen on time at 35 percent. So it may vary. If you dont change anything it would not change battery life but butter smooth.

That's truly unfortunate with the great hardware available on this device. It's what the Nexus should be!
I'm looking for a ROM with very good battery life and stability for the D850. Not asking which is the best ROM or trying to start a discussion of one being better than the other. Thanks.

Hi guys,
I'm on the Eclipse ROM by AC but I would appreciate to have Lollipop on my device.
I've seen that there's many of them but I don't know which one to choose ?
I want something stable, fast, and battery friendly.
I don't care about Spen things and Samsung stuff...
What is the best ROM to you ?
Thanks

On this ROM battery stays only for 20 hours for me. I was under the impression that cm based ROMs deliver more...

As a former Eclipse user, I have to say the CM12.1 port from @Ivan_Meler (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-2/orig-development/cyanogenmod-12-alpha-1-n7100-t2949644) with a splash of the S6 Theme (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wsdeveloper.galaxy). Absolute pant-wettingly perfect combination. Stable as a rock.
