Hi,
I’m using Samsung Galaxy Note 8.1 device. These days I’m facing a wired issue. Sometimes touch screen doesn’t work. I list down the symptoms of the issue below.
Sometimes touch screen doesn’t work, but styles works fine.
When I lock the device, unlock then touch works again for few seconds and fails.
Lock – unlock few times then touch works again.
Model: GT-N5120
Android version: 4.2.2
Baseband version: N5120DXCMG7
Please help me to resolve this frustrating issue.
Cheers
Karu.

Are you on a stock rom or custom? Have you tried doing a factory reset to see if it fixes the issue? If you are unrooted/stock have you tried asking Samsung about the issue? Read in other forums that draining the battery on the tablet until dead and then letting it charge to 100% without turning it on or using it fixes some touch issues but no idea if this works.
If all else fails might want to think about upgrading to the official 4.4.2 release (if there is one for the 5120 but assuming there is) and see if the issue still exists.

It could be that the tablet is not detecting the Spen properly... as if your case or screen protector is doing something odd.
I run Xposed Framework... even though it works well, I find bugs with its plug ins... so every once in a while I disable xposed to fix an issue in the settings by toggling the parameter for the troubled function and enabling framework before rebooting.
Hi,
Thanks for the replies.
I'm not using any custom ROM. I'll try with Samsung corp. Meantime if anyone knows a solution or a workaround then much more appreciated.
Cheers,
Karu.
I've a SM-T700 Tab S 8.4 running lollipop, and I've recently noticed a bug. I don't know if it's new since the lollipop upgrade, but I didn't notice it before.
I often use it to read in the dark, so I turn the brightness down and set the touch keys to never light up. However, after a while the lights come on and stay on until the setting is altered again.
Anyone else getting a similar issue?
Hi! I think it's a common bug. I have the same problem and read that many people have it.
I'm not aware of any permanent solution, so for now i keep mine at 1.5 seconds (I'd prefer them off, but thats the best I could find!)
PS: Sorry for my English!
No need to apologize. Your English is perfect.
Sent from my SM-N900V using XDA Free mobile app
If the problem's widespread, what devices/ROMs has it been seen on? Is it Galaxy-specific, I wonder.
Same issue here

Same problem here, only on mine the only way I've found to turn them off once they come on is to restart the device. What a hassle.
I have the same problem, regardless of what I set the duration to. It never did this under Kitkat.

Hi! I have same problem with Brazil version also.
Might it be related to that version only?

could possibly be... anyone with this issue not on the Brazil version?
Yes, same problem here with my new Samsung Tab S 8.4 SM-T700, stock 5.0.2
Putting it to 1.5 secs is the best I can do for now. I'm looking around on the app store to see if there's a different app to control this that might work (aside, the Galaxy S6 came with no way to turn these off and you have to use a separate app to do this).

No need to restart/reboot, for me if I change the setting to something else (e.g., 1.5 secs etc) and then back to OFF it'll work for a while before it stays on permanently again.

I tried that with mine... won't work: no matter what I change the setting to they just stay on until I restart the device. I created a ticket with Samsung support last week, but no response from them so far.
Ah .. ok, that's interesting, thanks for sharing. Hopefully Samsung will issue a fix in the next update. Nice tablet otherwise.
I'm sure most, if not all, knew this, but it is definitely a software issue. I flashed CM 12.1 the other day and the touch keys stay off. Perhaps someone can look into the stock firmware and see if there's a way we can fix it ourselves?
Hey guys, I've had the same bug since upgrading to Lollipop and I found out it seems to be a bug with the power saving mode. If I turn it off, the bug stops happening. I'm also testing power saving mode with the "turn key lights off" option unchecked, and it seems to be working ok. This option can be found under settings, power saving, restrict performance.
I'll keep testing. If anyone tests it too please reply with your findings!

I never use power saving mode, because I'm almost always near a charger, and I also had this issue. I don't think power saving mode has much to do with it. Not directly, at least.
Hi, I'm not using power savings mode, but have the same problem, so I'm not sure this mode is a factor (at least a sole factor).
Hi to all.
Somenone previously suggested this app:

I've been using it with and without power saving mode for 4 days and so far so good.

Hi,
I suggested this app earlier upstream, however, it ended up not working for me. Not sure how it's working for you, but happy it is. (FWIW, I never use power savings)
Hi, guys! !! I'm experiencing some issues concerning the screen mirroring function in my s4 mini. I manage to connect it to my LG smartv and my chromecast 2, Which is attached to my regular TV. But after a few minutes, the image in my TV gets blurry and the connection fails. I contacted Samsung and they made me perform a series of tests, all of Which amounted to nothing in the end. Then , they said I Would have to do a factory reset. First of all, I'm a little weary about this, couse if it does not work, I'll have done a lot of work for nothing. What should I do?? Is it a hardware problem? I'm counting on you guys!!

Using "caffine" to keep your device awake, might be a work around. (turn it on in the quick settings pull down menu, tap to set time, or for more control get the app of the same name on Play store)
Or try testing it with another casting app from play store that might keep the device from sleeping.
Thanks for Your reply! !! Unfortunately, I dont think thats the problem. While the Screen mirroring function is on, my s4 mini Screen is fully awake. The transmission then starts to falter. The images on my TV Screen (and my s4 screen)gets blurry and freezes. Then the connection breaks. ..but i'll install caffeine anyway. ..any Other suggestion?

oh I see. Maybe it's more like the modem/router being overloaded? Or wifi channel interference?
I dont think so. I turned off the wifi of all my other devices and the problem persisted, so its not overload. And I dont think its wifi interference either, because all my other devices can mirror the screen Just fine. All these tests Ive already performed, following sumsungs support instructions. They suggested a factory reset. Do You think That could work?

strange problem. What version of Android? Stock? Are you using inbuilt casting like in CM13? Or Have you tried another casting app? I could only get mine going with allcast app from Cyanogen (or was it Google?)
Factory reset might fix it, I have no idea, but it's a last resort for me!
I want to use button savior on my Galaxy S9 so I can use the LG mirror app to get full mirroring to work in my Toyota C-HR.
But it won't work, button savior does nothing when mirrorlink is connected.
Is there anyway to get this working on an S9?
also sidenote, the reason for this is Rockscout refuses to work icw my S9, it starts but when I want to select an app it says it's not connected with a compatible headunit, this used to work fine n my HTC 10 (in the same car)
Anybody knows anything or has tips, please share!

Sorry to tell you this .
But Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system is not working with mirrorlink as you want it.
If you are lucky to get it working at all.
You can not get YouTube or Tomtom working on you're system.
You can not get your screen from you're phone on the system.
The option is to upgrade to a different system is its even possible.
Hi, I am using Carlinkit AI box (Model CPC200-Tbox Mini) with Android 11 for use in my car (Mustang Mach E). The screen is pristine but I have an issue where my touches are registered about 2 inches lower than where I actually touch the screen - this happens anywhere on the screen. Is there a solution or alternatively is there an app that will allow me to manually shift where the touchscreen input registers down by 2 inches which would sort it out.
Thanks for the assist.

Someone knows how to fix that?
