So after tot back to stock, my phone refused to activate and prl/ profile updates fail with authentication error, and it fails to activate with "activate this device" in the settings menu.
No efs backup, and when i called sprint they tried to have me program it manually with the msl, but the msl they gave me failed. 000000 worked, and msid is set to 000000008747. Needless to say, the phone call was pointless.
I tried using cdma workshop and the like to write the meid dec, but even though the logs say it was a success but it didn't actually take.
Anyone know if there's another way to write meid, etc? Dialer code or something? I'm looking for a self-fix to avoid going to sprint to use my repair plan.

I have a Samsung Intrepid (Sprint) with WM 6.5 stock on it. I grabbed a copy of EPST and put on the device. When launched, it asks for the MSL code, so I enter my MSL, but it continues to say invalid code.
I have verified I can get into the ##DEBUG# menu using the MSL number, and I can also get into the phone number programming by hitting ##MSLNUM#. Any ideas why EPST is giving the invalid lock code message?
Thanks for any help!
Got what I wanted taken care of. Since EPST wouldn't work properly, I was able to devise a workaround:
##UPST#
Change the port to: Modem and Diagnostic
Reboot phone.
Fire up QPST configuration dialog.
Add COM port to the config.
Open QPST- should detect the appropriate chipset.
Read from phone.
Update values as you desire. I changed the Slot Cycle Index to 1.
On th System tab I set the below values:
Preferred Mode "Automatic"
Band Preference "Cell Only"
Roam Preference "Automatic"
Sprint only has PCS coverage here and it sucks, so I use this to roam. Maybe this will help someone else.
Have new to me Sprint HTC Evo rooted and I cannot activate on Sprint because I cannot get correct MSL. Sprint Tech gave me number it thought was correct but no luck. I downloaded a msl reader, EScode from PCWorld and it gave the same number Sprint had for the msl.
So, can anyone give me some help on how to obtain the msl?
Thanks for the help.
download msl reader from the market, and it'll give you the 6 digit code. You can remove the battery from the phone, and read off the meid number, and make sure the information matches the actual phone you have.
I'm not sure I understand. I have downloaded a msl reader and it did not work. Are you advising I download an another/different msl reader?
Naw, its the same one. The app asks for super user permissions, then gives you a 6 digit code? Also, your bootloader shows s-off?

You may want to do a Factory Reset from Menu > Settings > SD & phone storage > Factory data reset.
After the phone reboots, it may go through the hands free activation. If it does, you're set. If not, by this time you should be able to enter the MSL. I would recommend doing a Data Profile restore by opening up the virtual keypad, typing ##DATA#, entering your MSL, going to Edit Mode and then selecting Data Profile. You'll be taken to the Data Profile page. Once you're there, press the Menu button on the phone and tap on the Restore option. Phone will reboot.
I did this even after rooting with Unrevoked3 and encountering the same issue and it worked.
I had my Epic touch flashed to Boost, but my MSID is 0000000000 instead of my number, which is giving me error 67 and no data connection. When I go into the menu using the MSL to fix it, it won't take. I select the edit screen, and it has a box at the bottom which says "touch here". I do, then the key pad comes up and I type the number in, but it won't delete the "touch here" characters, and then when I go out and click done and it reboots, theres still no data, and I go back in the the MSID is back to all 0s.
I literally got this phone yesterday and I'm not sure if there's a problem with the flash or if its user error on my part not knowing how to edit my MSID.
Thanks for any help you guys can offer.
I believe you can edit the msid from qpst build 323. I personally use cdma workshop tho.
Sent from my BAD A$$ EPIC TOUCH 4G
I tried finding CDMA workshop, but I couldn't find a free copy. I didn't want to spend $200 just to fix my MSID.
I will try QPST though.
Thanks, will let you know
I did not see anywhere to enter my MSID in CDMA or QPST, but that is most likely user error, I havent used those programs much.
UPDATE: I did get the MSID changed and it saved, but it is still giving Error 67: Data username/password.
Anyone have any ideas how to change this, or should I just reflash it?
Earlier today I had a successful attempt at installing FXP's CM9 126 build. As a requirement I had to flash the R800x_4.0.2.E.57_Verizon.ftf via Flashtool to my phone before I could flash the Rom. My phone's provider is Cspire(formally Cellular South), and after the ftf my phone is trying to make contact with Verizon for activation, leaving my unable to call or text on my own provider. I've tried flashing a nand backup I had of one of Codename Andriod that I created when everything was working perfectly, but it didn't fix the problem.
Thank you for your time and please let me know what I can to fix this.
Sincerely,

You'll need to change the build.prop and apn settings. Found this from a quick search with someone that has a working verizon build.prop that is said to work on cspire
https://www.dropbox.com/s/dgteu3ziweifix8/build.prop
and his working apn settings:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/6cs5tqwdlcstt3s/apns-conf.xml
Also found this:
You could push the apn with ADB but i just edited mine with root explorer in /System/etc and restarted the phone.
As for CDMA Workshop is a service software for CDMA phones it is used for flashing phones to different carriers to put it plain as possible in my mind but it can be used for countless useful tasks, just Google it to read more. But the below method was much easier.
Dialing ##7764726(##program) is used to manually program your phone.
After dialing ##7764726 press call it will prompt for a SPC password it should be 000000
Then click User Activation
MIN1 I put the last 7 digits of my phone number.
MIN2 put the first three of phone number(area code).
MDN is your 10 digit phone number.
CDMA Sys ID put 1996
IMSI_11_12 put 12
Then hit back and click on SID/NID Pairs:
SID_1: put 1996
NID_1: put 65535
After this hit back till you exit all the way back out of the menu the phone will reboot after it reboots i dialed *22801 it didn't say anything just sat at the activation screen for about 30sec. Then it said reprogramming the phone then rebooted agin after that i was back on C spire.
Links are a little old but this is all I could find:
SID Database if you need to find a different carrier
http://www.the-answerman.com/sidlist/index.asp
Also the SID/NID I used was found in this PRL breakdown:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php/1700374-New-PRL-60575-50575
The Second post of the page explains a lot more about PRL and SID/NID just good to understand what your kinda messing with:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19537266
Also i don't know if this is the best way to accomplish this task but it took me awhile to figure out this fix it worked for me but i can't guarantee anything also im not responsible if something goes wrong and you brick(its always possible) but i am willing to help to the best of my abilities
Good Luck and sorry for such a long post.

I don't think you'll need the 1. Just the last 7 numbers. Try that to see if it works. And just so you know, I'm on verizon so all my answers are coming from google at the moment lol
I left the number the way it was and finished the steps, everything is working as it should and I can call and text. Thank you very much. Now i just have to find a fix for Mobile data. I really do appreciate it.

Mobile data would be in the build.prop and the apn settings, You should be able to use pieces from the build.prop I posted to work whatever rom you're on. I got to assume verizon and cspire are close to identical since they're both cdma. Half way there right?

Sick of your Data Disconnecting ? Do You constantly have to find your donor and get data/psw from it in order for 3g DATA to work on your phone ??well no need to do that no more. There are two ways that worked for me and the other I can't post about it here
Connect your phone to QPST and Open Efs Explorer
*****GALAXY PHONES must SEND 16Digit PAssword first Thru DFS and HAVE SPC
*****HTC PHONES ALL YOU NEED is YOUR SPC
Click File and Create a New Directory called "DMU" without quotation of course
drag the 10.key file in that folder https://www.dropbox.com/s/so0cx087lik9v59/10.key
Restart you phone and your data should work.
If that don't work then You need to use DFS to back up your Prl and Dial *228 *********ATTENTION**** dialing *228 is not all that bad, the only thing that changes is your PRL. So go ahead and write your PRL back and you're set
If you need the PRL here is one For Sprint Phones https://www.dropbox.com/s/7gqyyvcmjt20paq/53000%20For%20Sprint%20Phones.prl
Need the Latest one ? get it here ....just look for PRL...or use CTRL+F 65005 (get the sprint one) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2270191
The Other Method involve changing ESN#s and MEIDs# that's why I can't really talk about it here..... ( Thats What I was told )
