There is no stable and fast rom for our nicki.
I have used all of them and they are not fast and stable like stock rom.
You can use some different kernels on stock rom for more speed.
This kernel is awesome. Stock rom is faster with this kernel.
I write this just for an advice.
Ok, who wanted this advice here? and why? We all happy using Lollipop and kitkats. Good for you, enjoy stock roms.
Lolipop is way faster and better than stock!! you got to be kidding me.stock is so boring..

I was using it for 2 weeks and I have faced graphic glitches, lag, some fc errors, notification problems and random reboots. Even someone call me, phone lags as hell so i decided to reflash stock rom. I respect developers, they let us to use new android updates, but xperia m is old device, hardware specs are not good for lollipop.

Xperia M isn't old too. And if you respect the developer why you not come and join too op thread and discussion to explain what all bug that you have it and let it me and all members think how to resolve it together ?
Stock is the fastest but it is truly boring, you should try cm12.1 nightlies they get bug fixes everyday and its much more customizable

Hello
I've stop counting after 2000 hours spending flashing roms on my defy...
I came to a conclusion that no ICS/JB version will be good. everything I've tried eventually ended up with a slow rom that interfere daily use.
so I'm a bit disappointed about it cause I had to get back to CM7.2.
I've searched all over the net - what is the fastest rom for defy...and all forums say it's the CM7.
If someone can think of other version that works faster please let me know.
I really need FAST phone, and willing to flash an old rom, but to get stability and speed.
thanks for helping!
and thanks to all dev's that gave their souls in order to bring the newest rom to that old phone.
Try this rom :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1882737
if this one will be to slow or you , then you need Galaxy SIII

Already tried that before posting :victory:
anyway, it is a bit slower than latest Quarx Build.
korto is right:

I tried V5 and V5.1. Both are based on Quarx 0409. V5.1 is supercharged, and is slower then original Quarx.
Rom has AOKP weather icons and some tweaks and cherries. Apex is default launcher, battery life is worst than original.
There are 3 versions for defy+, normal, overclocked and undervolted.
Good rom but latest Quarx`s nightly is much fluid.
Developer of this rom (Defy +++ from Androidhilfe) will released next version based on latest Quarx in couple few days.

the problem with ms2g is that after a while, it start to be sooo sloooww....
I was using ms2g for a long time...really liked that rom.
I think you all just need to admit what morotola realized long time ago... the defy cannot support further then GingerBread..
Try paranoid android its fast and almost stable.

Hello!
some month ago gave my father a phone and put one of the roms I saw in xda .. im not sure, maybe stock ROM.
I can not try much because my father currently uses the phone.
What ROM you recommend?
I look for simple ROM, like MIUI or even more, as Windows Phone or something... also the with long battery life. I tried changing the governor in his ROM but I notice lag ...
He do not use Internet: Just call and sometime bluetooth to connect the phone to the car.
Thanx for your reply!
I use MIUI v4 the latest one and it gives me pretty great battery life. You can also try cm9... It's pretty battery friendly too.

So my dad has been using his One V for almost a year now. Was stock and unrooted. Slowly it has got slower and slower. Its reached the point where I have to factory reset anyway.
Is there a custom ROM that is more stable and smooth than Stock 4.0.4 and yet gives good battery life? Features irrelevant.
Thanks.

I'm starting to agree with you know, I've been using Evervolv since about yesterday, and it's been a bit buggy for me now. I'm just hoping it gets more stable.
If you want a stable easy to use rom for your dad, I'd recommend CM9 as recommended by other users.
1ceb0x great work on Evervolv had made it stable now. Try it again with the new kernel.
Since CM10 is abonded I'd say the newest version of Evervolv is really, really great. Android 4.2.2, aosp. everything you want.
Just one "downside. default camera isnt working. Im using camera zoom fx for this and its a great application.
cheers
I've search on this forum and did not find any thread listing all the available rom for the WFS and telling the pros and cons for each of those ROMs. I would like to install a very smooth and stable ROM for my WFS with a long lasting battery. CM10.1 by JDevs . Trust me it's Stable and Fast too
I agree on that, last version was no success but a new one released today
Lol on second thought, the owl project seems the fastest romen the most stable for me (Fast scrolling no force close till now)
later today I stress the gps (google maps navigate) and the cpu (fruitloops mobile)
but I do not want to dissmiss the other developers, most of the time other devices follow in stability and than it's just a matter of taste..

I Was Wondering If You share which ROM are you using on your E980.
Message from the Moderator:
Share your thoughts about why do you like it or how long you have been using it.
DON'T use this thread to report bugs
DON'T write down your hatred about any ROM as one has put a lot of hard work to make it
DON'T bring up the topic of "Best ROM" depending on the user feedback.

Personally I enjoy the Carbon ROM.

I am pretty fond of the PACman ROM, but I have yet to play around with it a lot. I'll get back to you on it soon.

This phone is actually very capable, I like it a lot.
Also I've noticed the 4.4 builds of Carbon do not support everything (like developer settings) like the 4.3 builds do. I stick away from KK until it has all the features JB does plus that.
I'm not sure about PACman yet. But it looks really nice I'm really excited to give it a try.
Hope this helps. Also shayneflashindaily said it best. It's really user preference. But if you want a ROM to try I recommend the two above me.

Just a little update if you'd still like to know:
I found PACman to be a little TOO feature filled. It feels like some of the things step on eachother's toes. Also I found some performance dips and bugs like if you press home your apps and widgets do not show up until you open and close your app page. Carbon runs decent with some hiccups. I used this here kernel to speed it up. Make sure you have your backups to restore if flashing the kernel doesn't work out for you.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2637838
I have actually found it to be faster with the kernel.
Only a few hiccups I'm looking to find ways to eliminate entirely. I'll give you an update if you decide to use it and would like to know more

Using Carbon and that kernel when I restarted it to test Kernel Same Page Method or something like that as it loaded to the lock screen I put the charger in. It stopped and got stuck in bootloop. Fast, Decent Battery Life, nightly builds, and not too many serious bugs (As few as possible), least likely to brick, simple to install.
