Fire Stick Help - Fire TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Im a big time newbie, Now that I got that out of the way. I been trying to install Kodi onto the stick but for some reason it just loops like its installing it again. I just bought my fire stick from amazon like 2 weeks ago. Help please

This is the simplest set of instructions that I have found, worked fine for me: http://sideloadfiretv.com/sideload-apps-amazon-fire-tv-windows/
After that, if you want the Kodi icon to show up in the Recent row of the FireTV, use the Amazon Appstore (from a PC worked for me, I didn't try it from a device) to install Kodi on another Android device that's connected to the same Amazon account as your FireTV. After it's installed and synced to your account, you should be able to see the icon (the icon is there in Settings/Applications/Manage Installed Applications regardless, you just need to trick your FireTV before it will show in the Recent row).

[q] no addons work

HI,
I have just bought a Fire Tv from Amazon UK.
After i turned it on it started to update, and i left it to do its thing.
I have managed to install XBMC Gotham 13.2 via adbFire, and works absolutely fine, but with ONE BIG PROBLEM.
Nothing is working, not even 1 add-on in XBMC is not working.
1 Channel is setup properly, as i have an ATV2 with XBMC on it and everything works fine.
But when you open 1channel or ice films, when you navigate to films or tv shows, instead of trying to load the list, its just EMPTY.
I have restored it 4 times, installed several versions of the XBMC but to no avail.
PLEASE HELP!!!

[Q] New FTV and can't get LLama for redirect to Kodi

Hi all,
I picked up a second new FTV for my Daughter, Side loaded kodi and set it up, all works well.
Then proceeded to use LLama redirect (Tried Ikoni and Tubitv) and it will not launch Kodi. I can change the "run application" to Photos, netflix etc and the redirect works. I then switch it back to Kodi and poof..it starts the original sacrificial program.
What the heck am I doing wrong? or is this something new that I didn't find during a search?
one other weird thing, if I run test within LLama it will not start it from there either. But, if I uninstall Kodi (any 14.x version) and then reinstall and do not run it from FTV it will launch the program 1 time and show Kodi first time setup. Then POOF, its all done again .
Thanks in advance
Phil
Flame away is its something stupid lol
Well, after 6hrs of pulling my hair out I updated the firmware on the new fire to the latest and it now works like a champ.
So, for all the other that have run into it (via google search's I was not alone) update the firmware

Setup multiple aftvs quickly as possible

So after having mine for a while now and showing it off I have had a few friends ask me if they purchased one could I set it up like mine for them.
Also thinking about getting one for each of my brothers for Christmas this year. I will not be doing root just installing fire starter and aide loading Kodi with my preferred addons.
Mainly I just want to back up my Kodi settings and adb the backup to the new devices.
I have this covered no issues.
Unless someone else has a better idea for that we will move on to the real question
During the setup process I have to login to my Amazon account. When I do these to my friends I would prefer that my cc info not be available to them. Is de registering the device sufficient enough in removing this?

Yes it should be, I also did the following when making a new account
Ok here's what I did, just make and separate email account and register with Amazon again. and use that account on the Amazon Fire TV, please note, some apps require a credit card or visa to be added to the account to be installed even if they're free apps. to get around that just add a fake credit card or visa to the account it'll work. It did for me.
I bought 3 fire sticks on Black Friday one for my office, one for my sister and one for her son. What I did was to configure the one for my office and used the fire utility app to backup the kodi setup. Then I just used the fire utility app to push kodi and firestarter restore the backup on each of the other sticks. 10 minutes for each stick.
When I was done with each stick in the fire tv system settings menu at the end there is an account selection. Pick account and then choose deregister account. This will remove your amazon information and prompt them for their information when they plug it into their tv. None of your kodi installation is touched using this method. Fire starter works etc.

kodi 16.0 no longer show on fire stick app screen. updated to new app? 15.2 was show

version 15 was showing but the new verison whcih i just pushed via adb has dissapeared? can anyone tell me a way of bringing it back to the homescreen
initially i remember getting the app from the amazon fire store
thanks
Have you downloaded kodi from Amazon when was available? If so go in your Amozon account and delete app then go to your fire TV Settings/My account/ deregister account, sign back in and the re-synk. BTW mine shows up and I am on v16
:good:I can confirm this method works fine

Firestopper and current Amazon Fire TV 2 build.

Hi,
I wonder if someone can answer a quick question for me. I currently have two Fire TV 1's and a Fire TV stick. All have the old Firestopper app installed where the home button continues to take you to the Firestarter interface, unlike the new version. They've all been blocked from firmware updates. My question is this. I need another FIre TV box and it looks like I'll be getting a 2nd generation Fire TV. Can someone tell me if the latest build on the Fire TV 2 continues to work with the old Firestopper app, as I was going to sideload it because it continues to be incredibly useful, but only with the home button function working. If the latest build for the Fire TV 2 prevents that, I'd rather know before buying one.
Thanks for any help provided.
Unfortunately, the firestopper app no longer works with the newer firmware, which is on at new model fire tv box or stick that u buy.
I found out, it does work, but it's not quite as useful anymore since double clicking on the home button brings up the app menu anyway, but you can still run firestarter, although it's kind of redundant as it just brings up another app menu. On the upside, it still does allow you to install Kodi without having to sideload it. Fortunately my older Fire devices still work with Firestarter and the new one I purchased, I realized it's not as crucial anymore.
Thanks for responding,
