Hey!
I've just got my LG G4 (I've actually only got it about an hour ago so still setting it up)
But I thought I'd write up a hands on of my experiences with the device and also answer any questions you have. In this thread I will;
Upload screenshots of BenchMarks - If there are any you'd like me to try please let me know
Battery life - from extreme use to casual use
Camera - Night & Day
Accessories - Screen protectors and Cases
Android Version - 5.1
Baseband version - MPSS.BO.2.5.C3-00059-M8992FAAAANAZM-1.17437.1
Kernal version - 3.10.49
Please feel free to ask me any questions in relation to the device and also if you have anything you'd like me to do I'd be more than happy to assist (No Drop Tests) Also Once I get a few accessories I will try and post pictures of fittings. Also bare in mind that I've only just got this phone so before I write up a big review about it I'll need a few weeks messing around with the handset.
I'll also try and post pictures to give you a better insight to the device!
Any questions?

Hi Jason,
Thanks for posting this in the forum.
Seeing as prior to the G4 you had a Galaxy S5, how much of an improvement do you see this vs. your current phone or tablet?
How much better are the photos vs. The S5.
Is the LG G4 a game changer or one of the best phones you have had?
.: Sent from an optimized 'ANDROID til I die' device :.
Does it wobble a lot when typing while the phone is set on a flat surface?
Sound quality recorded is pretty bad based on what I've heard from Youtube videos, will a third party app fix this?
Video is shaky, will a third party app fix this?

Hi,
Firstly, It's a great handset and I really like how quick it is the start up. Like you said I've had a S5 since launch and I'm really used to the UI and the buttons on the front and side ( I think the back button is going to take some getting used to) I was messing around with the camera mainly, taking random photos of my dog and what ever I could see in the back garden. I also did a short video recording as well to see the sound quality and stability of the camera. Overall I'm really happy with the camera (I'm not a photographer) but I feel like one with this device.
It's a GREAT phone, there are some really good points to the handset and some really bad points. One thing I really don't like is the build quality of the handset. I 've got the one with the black leather back and it feels cheap and tacky. I can't wait to get a case on it as it feels fragile. In my opinion I don't think it's a game changer, it opens some apps really quickly and can take a picture but I need to put it under some serious stress to see how it copes.
I hope this helps, sorry I'm rambling (it's the morning)

It does wobble a lot while typing, I'm hoping a case might change this. I will look into this and try and upload a few videos, can you think of any apps that might help? Also the videos don't seem shakey I took one last night and they are fine.
But again I'll take some longer videos in various areas to try and get a better insight into this.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Jason,
just wondering, what model do you have, F500 ? if yes from which carrier?
if it is the F500 how does it handle the LTE and Wifi?
does it have a lot of bloatware?
if you are looking for a good case, the extra thin one from spigen is the one i had on my G3 and it is really good ( SPIGEN )
I have two questions.
1-how is the battery life?
2-how much free ram do you have on average ?

The Model number is - LG-F500L
The Wifi is great, it loads most web pages pretty quickly. Funny thing is that It doesn't show that I've got 4G, even though with my S5 I would have 4G in the same areas. I've checked the signal strength and its at (-109 dBm 3asu) now I'm not a tech wiz but I think I'm not getting 4G
It was loaded with a lot of apps which I can't get rid of, I've not rooted the handset yet so I'm hoping this will get rid of a few things. Because after I use the camera a few in quick succession the phone slows down dramatically.
Hope this helps
The battery life is pretty bad if I'm honest i have only had it off charge for an hour and a half and it has already gone down 5% from doing nothing! It wil last all day but im yet to find the time to seriously stress the battery out with a few games.
Ive attached an image of ram for you to look at.

Well you need to compare the 4g / LTE frequencies of your carrier with the Korean phone you have. F500L means you got it from the LG U+ carrier. That frequency issues is the biggest trap when buying a phone there.. the second is the rooting and ROMs for their models. The international models get way more attention.
if you can pull system via ADB, and contact @Chainfire, i guess he will be happy to make a root. He is the master.

I've never really thought about looking at something like this.
But from what I can read and correct me if I'm wrong I can't get 4G as I'm with O2 and the phone I've got only works on 4G with a higher frequency?
Also thanks for the tip with the rooting!
Could you confirm if there is a barometer?

Hi all
Its been 4 days with g4 and what i have noticed till:
Screen is absolutely gorgeous.
Camera is awesome.
Battery life i get 3 to 4 hours screen on time and charging is also too slow.
It is fast fluid.
Speaker at the back is loud.

You hit the nail on the head, I really like this handset and I feel that it could have been the best on the market! If only it was a little more powerful, I found that after prolonged use it does slow down. Maybe if an update comes out to optimise the software a little it might be faster.
I really really like the camera on the phone, I'm not a camera expert or anything but it has a lot of features! I'm still trying to get to grips with.

To expect it to be Exynos processor in terms of speed would be unfair. Perhaps the LG G4 does not have the latest specs hardware wise but it's a hell of a device.
From my part I cannot throw away money on another wanna be Apple company (looking at you Samsung)
Yeah the device is a bit faster and looks a little better than the G4 but I just can't do it.
There's a review I just posted on another thread and it pretty much summarizes everything up. He has all the flagship devices and choose to stick with the LG G4 that's saying a lot right there.
I'm an xda member since many years ago, once we get root, bootloader unlock and Roms there is no limit where we an take this device.
Perfect example is my Motorola DROID RAZR HD, when bought it was slow, unresponsive and unimpressive out of the box. Compared to today it's Rooted, bootloader unlocked and flashed with Nexesque Rom it's become one of the fastest devices I've ever owned. The thing is only equipped with a Dual Core processor and 1GB of Ram.
There is a lot to be excited for on the LG G4 and I hope we get root, bootloader unlock capabilities, recovery and Roms soon enough.

Hi,
I have been thinking about getting the i747 model of the S3? is there any widespread issues I should no about before I make the leap?
Screen breaks easy :/
Phone gets hot quite often...
Make sure you like the size you get used to it. I jumped from 3" to 4.8"
Overall it is the best phone on the market and regardless it's a good decision.

US, versions are way better unless you play video games, you wont want the internation phone, also over heating isnt a issue at all i have mine overclock to 1800mhz and the phone wont go pass 40c at all. And with the US version you get lte which is a pretty big deal to me

My carrier doesnt support LTE haha. A big decision factor on both for me is dev support , the us versions dont get nearly as much dev support as the international ones.
Brushed Metal ring cracks easily, look closely you will see the cracks
"I feel like I'm gonna break this thing..."
The screen is beautiful, the phone is jam-packed with features and hardware, and if you stay stock Samsung's TouchWiz has some pretty cool features.
I'd get the US over the International for your network's flavor of 4G + 2GB Ram, unless you can acquire a Korean handset. Quad-core with 2GB of RAM and I believe 800 MHz LTE support which is currently useless but I believe Sprint has their eyes on that spectrum for future expansion.
Oh, and it's really thin, has a huge screen, almost no bezel, comes in sweet colors (like red) and I recommend a case.

Hey guys I'm not developer level or anything but here are a few things from my last almost three days with the phone
Good:
Great support.
Easy to root.
Safe failsafe comes with the phone (Odin). It's samsung not motorola so the bootstrapper isn't locked and is 'made to mod'
Great battery- got one day+ out of it doing heavy stuff, syncing high quality audacity files over 4g
Sick screen, processor
Lots of roms and kernels
Bad: A lot of the roms just came out. Aside from AKOP and Nostalgia (stock withouth the bloat) people are having different issues from wifi drain, 4g lte not working, (look up my name to see some of these)
For me- the form factor. The phone is VERY thin VERY wide and PRETTY LONG.. It's hard to grip if you use it to say play music while running. Basically you'd have a stronger grip if you gripped the phone with the screen facing the palm of your hands. The back end is almost frictionless. Again easy to fall, easy to slip out of pocket/bookbag, will bounce around in your pocket and not feel it when it falls out of your bag etc.. It will take getting used to.
Another thing that showed poor thought in the physical design. I have a white phone and didn't notice the menu and back buttons because...they too are white. Meld in perfectly.
Charge time- Charge Could take 3+ hours using a 'fast' high AMp charger off of Amazon. I will try with Samsung's stock charger.
A ton of roms, different version of the phone, and mods keep shooting down threads about battery life etc. I say shut off airplane mode and leave on wifi to see which kernels/governors give best battery life. There's so much customizability that its sort of a bad things.
I haven't played around with it on my JB Rom but on ICS you can't transfer the apps and music files from say spotify to your external card. No matter how quickly internal memory is accessed, for backup and movability purposes that is a huge no no for me and a lot of other people.
Not so much with thep hone but with the carriers. You can't simply flash a lot of the models by entering an unlock code, you usally need a non-carrier network SIM to get the dialogue to pop up, at least on stock/nostalgia.
One big issue that is being reported as irreversable is an IMEI modification. That is like the MAC address for your computer. Hopefully no one dealswiht that

better battery life than the skyrocket by far.
With my skyrocket I had 3 batteries (2 spares) and it would be very rare if I only had to swap out once in a day.
Had my gs3 for a few days now and it can last me almost half a day.
Mind you I use my phone basically 24/7.. I still bought two spare batteries but don't think I'll be swapping out as often

Hey guys... Im changing my phone into either a samsung galaxy s5 or a LG G3 this weekend but i am in a dilemma to choose between the 2 great phones. First off all i am someone who constantly gets my phone "wet" ( you know what i mean) and thats why ive been considering the s5 BUT i found out that the G3 had way better camera and display factors. However, the G3 did not produce a water resistant feature, i need some help to choose between the 2. Thanks!!
There is a youtube post where the g3 is put under water for quite some time without getting damaged. Just google it it seems legit. I would not recommend anyone doing it themselves but my guess is it would survive a splash. I was in the same situation as you 2 weeks ago. I must say im happy i didnt take the s5. This phone feels like the right choice but it is your call

S5 old Samsung problem... cheap components (whatever components these are). 3 to 6 months it gets slow, the battery grows almost to the point to explode. IDK the situation for everyone, but the quality of Samsung in Brazil is absolutely **** and people still buy.

No I don't know, I've never gotten my phone wet lol... Wait one of is being sarcastic......
Thanks
Thanks you guys... That really helped in making my decision. Looking foward to my G3 this weekend!!
Good decision!
Ordered mine yesterday, took me some days to decide between the actual flagships.
- Sony Xperia Z2: nothing outstanding
- Samsung S5: I don´t like the design, i don´t like Samsung and i don´t want to have the same phone most others have. And all Samsung phones i had in my hands are suffering by the same: out in the sun it is realy hard to see anything on the display.
These two where out fast!
- HTC ONE M8: I´m on a HTC ONE X+ at the moment and i´m very happy with it. The M8 has a great design and the best speakers out there, plenty of custum roms out there to play around and no problems with a locked bootloader. But a 4MP-Camera is at the lower limit and what bothered me most was the waste of space. The M8 is only 4mm smaller and is a litlle thicker than the G3 and only has a 5'' Display!
AND THE WINNER IS: LG G3!!!
I had a LG OPTIMUS Black those days and it is still working fine.
For the G3 the only negative i found is this damned locked bootloader!
PLZ LG have mercy with us! We need the fun to play around with a mass of custom roms! Let the great developers out there unleash their potential!
XPOSED & TWEAKBOX i´m comming !
THX to all developers out there working already on it to get the best out of ours G3s.
Well I own a G3 but I gotta say the S5 has better battery life (and that very useful Ultra Power Saving mode), Camera is arguably better or equal, and I really like the Super AMOLED screen on it which won awards for best in industry.
The Waterproof feature is a great bonus.
I prefer the G3's build, design and UI though and its neat software features
Hello Prowd G3 Owners,
How are you all?
I was wondering to buy this beautiful phone, but I thought to ask you owners two things which are bothering me very much.
1. Battery Issues. Presently I use S2 and will be switching to G3, If I am getting better battery backup. i dont know, I have read mixed views about battery from websites, so I wanted your personalized views on battery. My usage = When I dont use, I rarely picks up the phone, just to check text messages. But When I use it, I make sure the usage is heavy(Games mostly, or hours of chatting, minimal browsing though).
So kindly assist in this matter.
2. Will there be any need of ROM changing? Presently I am using CM11 on my s2 as I was fed up with touchwiz(yuck),
Even if your answer is yes, then I still not see any development in this sector as compared to other competitors?
3. If you had the opportunity to choose any other phone, what would that be (with similar g3 specs, you can choose g3 also )?
4. Does Quickcircle case provides impact protection?
5. Does LG causes any hassles if you want to replace your damaged screen under one-time screen replacement scheme?
I thank you in advance,
Neeraj.

Standby time on the LG G3 is immensely good. As you can see from my signature one of my previous phones was the LG G2 and that was the king of battery life for me, both stand by and regular usage. I've been using the G3 for some time now and the battery life matches the G2 which in itself is impressive considering the higher resolution screen. At first i was a bit disappointed but it took a few days/cycles for it to settle.
For instance, on days i get to work at 10am, usually have 2 email accounts pooling every hour, Google services all auto-syncing (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Keep, Photos backup, etc), Whatsapp, BBM, Weather every 3 hours, etc, i'm usually still at 90% by 2 pm when i go for break. Kill it quite a bit on break with news reading, games, web etc, and still in the 70's when i knock of at 6pm. Kill it some more on the train ride home and in the low 60's by 7.30pm.
2. Will there be any need of ROM changing? Presently I am using CM11 on my s2 as I was fed up with touchwiz(yuck),
Even if your answer is yes, then I still not see any development in this sector as compared to other competitors?
I've always been of the opinion that the best ROM is always stock rooted, and that's what i run on mine. The stock LG G3 ROM is just fine and runs really good. I freeze whatever bloat i don't care for with Titanium Backup. As luck would have it, bootloader unlock (and hence custom recovery needed to flash custom ROMS, if that's your thing) just became available for the LG G3 device-wide. So have at it when the ROMS start flooding in.
3. If you had the opportunity to choose any other phone, what would that be (with similar g3 specs, you can choose g3 also )?
By far, the Sony Z3 or Z3 Compact. Solid battery life, water proof, great camera, etc. Always wanted Sony Xperia devices but sadly they have a phobia for Sprint as a carrier. Nexus 6 only if it was 5.2 inches or less, Moto X 2014 only if it had a better battery (only 100mAh more than 2013 model, yet bigger 5"+ 1080p screen ) and camera. I have the Moto X 2013 currently as well, impressive, but terrible camera and battery could be better.
4. Does Quickcircle case provides impact protection?
Have the case, but don't use it (got it free, definitely wouldn't have paid for it anyway). Like any other case covering your phone it's something that would save it from scratches and nicks and dings if your phone fell out your hands and was otherwise naked. I personally don't like it and use another case.
5. Does LG causes any hassles if you want to replace your damaged screen under one-time screen replacement scheme?
Not sure/don't know about this specifically.
I thank you in advance,
Neeraj.

If you can find a good price on it, go for it.
1. I have a similar use case as yours, and I've never had any issues with battery so far. I get through a day pretty easily with screen on times of 5-6 hours which is good enough.
2. Stock ROM with minor root based improvements is quite decent with not much lag. I've used Touchwiz before and I find LG stock UI much better than Touchwiz. Ofcourse, fully functional CM & AOSP would be far better and I plan to switch to it immediately when available. The bootloader has only just been bypassed so ROM dev will kick up soon.
3. HTC One m8 or Nexus 6 (depending on how big it actually feels on hand). But I had that choice with M8 while going for the G3 so that's my take on it.
4. Yes and No. Depends on where the impact occurs. The cutout on front leaves that area of screen damage prone but the back is pretty well covered. A little less than a proper case though since the Quick Circle case essentially replaces the back cover.
5. Not sure about that. Thankfully I've not had to deal with them regarding this & hopefully I won't have to.
Thank you.

Here prices at online retailers is around 34k after all discounts. That's best in terms of spec/cost ratio.
Also LG India giving free 6 month insurance i guess, circle case and discount on lg g watch worth 10000 INR.
Also can you please post your gaming experience in words, or any performance grudge you hold against g3.
I know no phone is perfect, but I'd like to weigh my options here.

Please tell me more about your experience of gaming on g3? Is it better, worse, or average. I do plan to use this phone for atleast 4 years, if I buy it. Hence, I hope it does not get outdated. What are your views on this? (Know H/W wise it might be, but still my s2 works like a charm on CM11 and is able to play asphalt 8 flawlessly, though on low settings. )

N6 is quite costly as compared to other nexus devices. Although, it is for the specs its offering, I personally dont feel that s801 soc will be outdated soon enough. One M8 is big, specially those front speakers, added to its physical area. I personally dont like on-screen buttons, so was less oriented towards m8.
4. Yes and No. Depends on where the impact occurs. The cutout on front leaves that area of screen damage prone but the back is pretty well covered. A little less than a proper case though since the Quick Circle case essentially replaces the back cover.
Thanks for the info.
5. Not sure about that. Thankfully I've not had to deal with them regarding this & hopefully I won't have to.

1. Absolutely no problems with gaming performance wise on the G3. The only issue is that is gets heated up if you're playing a games with the brightness cranked up. Personally, I play games at ~50% brightness which is good enough and doesn't heat up as much.
3. Same here. 801 definitely won't get outdated anytime soon, but since you're picking up a new device at full price and planning to keep it for 4 years I'd suggest you wait a bit to get a feel for the N6 atleast before making a decision. As for the M8, yeah I know where you're coming from. I had to decide between the M8 & the G3 too and I went for the G3 mainly because of the much better design at a larger screen size. Although durability wise the M8 will definitely handle some rough usage better than the G3.

Yea, I was thinking the same but N6 is approximated to cost ~42K INR. While G3 is ~8k less.
My first bike costed 49k. So I dont want to go beyond 35k for a phone as of now. I hope you understand my conundrum.

Is there any real user review of the device as whole. (Not of tech sites) on youtube or blogs??
Thanks for help again.
I have been using Galaxy S3 for the last 2 years, along side 7000 mAh zerlolemon battery.
overall my experience with it, considering it was my first smartphone, was OK.
but now I'm looking for:
a bigger screen & a good looking one! (5.5"+)
better camera (S3's camera sucked!)
better speakers & sound quality overall (i watch YouTube a lot at work, some /movies/TV show as well)
newer & less laggy hardware (S3 is just to old, although i run custom roms on it!).
removable battery & SD card storage.
the LG G3 seems to answer all of my wishes from a new smartphone. but i read about a lot of bugs & defects complaints using google search, which scares me a bit!
what do you guys think? would love to hear your opinions, which will be more valid then online reviews of short use since you had the phone for longer time! good & bad stuff.
I probable will buy the 32GB storage unite, since it has bigger ram & the extra 16G will do only good since the camera files will be heavier compared to the S3!
thanks in advance .
I had used S3 for nearly 2 years as my daily driver and it was a pretty good piece because of it's customizability. But, recently I received the G3 as a birthday gift and even though it's design and hardware impressed me, i felt like something is missing. Sure, it has that beautiful screen, sexy curves, overall amazing design, and an amazing camera but the UI tends to stutter a lot which is really wierd considering the amount of power the snapdragon could deliver. It should have been a child's play, but apparently it isn't. Also, the display has an exagerated software applied sharpening, which to this day i still can't see the benefit of it making your fonts at different sizes look ugly. Furthermore, the hardware gets sometimes so hot from simple tasks making it simply unbeareable for your hands.
When i encountered ocasional lag with my S3 i understood that I was asking too much from an old hardware, but i never expected a new-gen phone to behave like this. We will have to wait and see what improvements the custom roms could bring to the table.
If you spend a lot of time watching and listening videos, the speaker does it's job honorably while the so called premium headphones felt less dynamic than the S3's. At this point, the M8 could be a better deal it's only downside being the display size (- 0.5'' ).
To be honest, I still dont know what to say. I guess i have big expectations from a flagship.
I strongly suggest trying the phone before buying it.
Since S3 is only phone you had any upgrade will be good. Just choose what do you prefer in phone. Htc for speakers, G3 for screen, samsung for water resistance. Battery life and performance are pretty much same for all of them. Try them out all and you will see which one suits you best
I used to have S3 too, only thing I miss is very black screen. But that's about it. G3 is better in every way.
If you dont care about your phone being outdated fast, you can also get Z3

I myself have switched recently from S3 LTE to the G3.
On the S3 a lot was possible with mods, ROMs and solutions from this great community :good: , it was and is a great phone.
My impressions on the G3 in comparison to S3 LTE are:
+ good speed and responsitivity
+ larger screen is nice
+ input handling (touch screen) seems more responsive to me
+ good signal qualities
+ excellent battery life
- community much less developed (no wonder, its pretty new and bump! is just out)
- wireless charging much more fidgety
- considerable more bulk (well, can't have it all )
- display is not as crisp and bright as with S3
Overall I am happy with the new phone and not looking back.

Great summary ccs16rocks. My feelings are exact to yours. In order to reduce many of the issues you identified, I had to root, modify, etc but this has not fixed all of the issues. I've changed my framework to ART and launcher to Nova, disabled all animations, scaling, etc. as well to help with stutter and slow downs, that helped dramatically.
After all of the work that I've put into the phone, there are still some things that I cannot fix or improve and I don't think they can be.
-Camera speed: I'm used to iPhone 5/6 performance/speed. There are apps that can speed up shooting, but none can reach the speed of an iPhone. Luckily there are tons of apps out there, if you have the time to try them and find the right one. I've been through a bunch so far and The apps that do work well (speed/performance), usually don't have any other features that seem practical to have integrated into the app. (video, square, panorama, etc)
-Battery life: I'm using a variety of tools/task killers/etc to minimize what's running, eating battery life or slowing the phone down. This varies and I can't seem to find a real solution to extending battery life any longer other than just not using the phone
That being said, I'm happy with the phone. The hype over the quality of the camera is odd to me though. Primarily because it's nice, but it isn't that great. Maybe it's better than other Android camera phones?
Another major concern is, with all the rooting/hacking/modding I've done to get the phone to operate more efficiently, I'm curious as to how I can upgrade to Lollipop when it comes out, since LG G3 handsets are getting it soon
Just want to thank everyone who replied .
after reading your comments, i decided to stay with the current S3 and skip the LG G3. although it's specification sound perfect for me, i just don't want to risk getting a new phone with all this possible bugs and defects! I will just wait until the note 4 or nexus 6 drop to a normal price in my country, don't mind waiting 6+ month for that. it's not like the S3 is a bad device, it does the job well enough for now.
If you read enough stuff on the internet ALL phones have stuff wrong with them - To me the G3 has some minor software hic ups with its launcher, nothing that makes it worth not buying.
Make sure not to buy the 16GB version, because the lag is REAL. The colleague from the USA might be delighted with the their 32GB beasts, but as for european costumer who are offered only the 16 giggs... Id be better without it. Seriously guys the europeen version is crap without any serious modifications!
The G3 is a wonderful device. As well I just wanted to say not everybody's phone laggs. I've had my G3 since launch and I only experienced very minimal lag and once I rooted and made a few small changes in trickster mod it's been nothing but good times.

Hi,
I am interested in buying the G3 for £200 (G4 too expensive) are there any major drawbacks or reasons why I shouldn't get it? I previously owned an LG Spirit 4G and LG G Pad 7 (still have it :victory both of which I liked but the Spirit 4G was a bit slow hence want to go for something better.
On a side note does the G3 have Glance View, double tap to wake...? And how are LG with updates for flagships, will Android 6.0 be the last, is firmware stable?
Thanks

The G3 doesn't have glance view, but it does have double tap to wake, LG are good when it comes to releasing updates at least to it's flagships. I am on Marshmallow and it is a huge improvement in battery life, my phone was unplugged and sat in my pocket most of the time for 1hr and a half with the brief reading of some new articles and I have 0% battery loss. The UX is smoother. As for future updates who knows, the hardware is capable it just depends on LG's marketing of their future phones. At that price I would say go for it, if it were me the only keep back would be at this stage I would want a phone with a fingerprint reader.

That sounds good. What I really love about LG is the features in the software (little things like the clip tray-does the G3 have that?). It would be nice to see what other people say as well-I want as much info as possible.
My last 2 phones have been the g2 and g3 and i will say both have had there flaws some bugs along the way but both being rooted and modded just right. Best 2 phones ive ever owned stock they eat battery they over heat they lag but most custom roms have solved most of if not all bugs i prfer stock roms on the g3 over non. Due to camera quality. And a few otber things but over all you wont be to disapointed

Battery Life?
How would you guys rate the battery life? I'm guessing it'd be the weakest point of the phone with the 2K display. Can you get a day out of it with moderate use?
I use for texting and light browsing atarting at. About 7 am til 5 pm then basicly wear it out on wifi games music web randoms sheet from there on out til about midnight and usally got about 20% left but im rooted fulmics stock based rom running xceed kernal also undervolted 10ma screen britness about 50% under auto britness getting 6 to 6.5 hours of total screen on time
Battery Life is not the strongest Part oft the G3.
With average usage and deactivated NFC/Bluetooth/GPS and Display on 100% Brightness (i like it very lighty, but i have readen in this forum the most users use the phone with less Brightness) i have to charge the phone every day at night, so i would say after a 12-13 hrs average usage its low. If the Brightness is lower maybe 15hrs. I wouldn't expact more, but nowadays you have more possibilities to charge (in the car, at the office, on the notebook) so its not very a big point for me personally.

For previous stock-roms your issus are true. But the new MM-rom is the fastest, smothest, stablest and the one with the best battery live I ever had on this phone. :good:

Battery life is moderate on Lollipop, but I have Marshmallow for 3 days now and it has improved immensely, my phone was idle for 1hr & half and I experienced 0% battery loss
I love my G3 on Marshmallow. It is simply flying. LG has done a fantastic job. But honestly at this time (that is 2 years after release of the flagship) I will recommend you not to buy it. Don't misunderstand. Though it's an absolutely brilliant device, keeping future proofing in mind, I will suggest to wait for G4 prices to drop further or consider other options. Of course our xda community will keep on supporting this device for a long time. But AOSP lacks certain LG features like knock code, Stock Camera performance (certain apps come close) and battery life takes a hit. So considering all these factors, I will advise against buying a G3

Yes the G3 has the clipboard which I love, also little things like the caller app that pops up at the top without kicking you out of the app you were using, or how you can respond to text messages without leaving the screen you were in. The adjustable keyboard is awesome, and once rooted you can fix little issues like allowing all apps to function in dual screen mode
I cant wait for mm to be released for d850 att. I like. Cm back on my og evo4g but i dont seem to care for it im hoping fulmics will update to it soon but i stayed on kk til about 6 months ago

Hmmm I see what you mean. I actually never realised it is two years old, probably because it just turned 2016. I have been looking at the G4 but it is at least £270 (cheapest I have found), which isn't too bad but it is a bit high for me. But I am definitely keeping an eye on it. :cyclops:

Yes! My LG Spirit 4G also had those features! This is why I am going for LG.
I bought D851 from ebay, and I find its very lagy (more evident when you play games - temple run e.g) and also i noticed web page loading is very slow (even on wifi) - I am comparing these parameters to Amazon firephone (which i find is way faster). Do you think it has something to do with this particular phone or it is general problem with this phone. I am thinking to return this phone.
thanks.

I never ended up buying the G3 (don't know what I was thinking), I have the OnePlus X which will receive android upgrades and has flagship specs. But from my experience with LG (mid range phone/tab) I would like to say that their UI is generally quite laggy and choppy hence it could be software?
I don't mean to criticise the G3 as it is a very good phone, but with the G5 around the corner (next month) it is not worth buying anymore.
@ ethereal123 I would return it if I were in your position.
